A Suicidal Pledge? Gingrich Reaffirms Pledge To Violate Constitution After Promising To Kill Enemies Of Our Nation

After pledging to kill our enemies, Newt Gingrich returned to one of his favorite themes: violating the United States Constitution. In Greenville, South Carolina, Gingrich again said that he would ignore Supreme Court decisions that he disagreed with. We have previously discussed the flaws in Gingrich’s legal and historical views, but my concern is that pledging to violate the Constitution would make Gingrich an enemy of our constitutional system. Does this mean that his first act would be to add his own name to the presidential hit list?

Gingrich told the crowd “The president interprets the Constitution as president. If the court makes a fundamentally wrong decision, president can in fact ignore the courts.”

The question is what threatens our nation the most, destroying a building or a constitutional system? With President Obama continuing the claim of absolute power to kill Americans, the added claim to ignore the check and balance of judicial review would complete our shift toward authoritarian powers.

For Gingrich to pledge to attack the Constitution while pledging to kill enemies of our country seems a textbook case of autophobia. It raises the question of what constitutes an enemy to our system.

A personality disorder is defined as an “enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectation of the individual’s culture, is pervasive and inflexible (unlikely to change), is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment in interpersonal relationships.” Legally, a pledge to kill enemies and then declare oneself an enemy to core principle of the country constitutes a serious and a dangerous disorder in a president.

  1. If this keeps up, my husband would like to visit with you at Preston Center on Saturday.

  2. Right on time ,Insane. Never had a psychotic episode in my life but since I know your identity I am not sure you can say the same. Don’t take any medicine except a small dose of bp medicine which I am working to get off of. Psychological abuse will avail you nothing. My family unit is intact and functioning well. Too bad you can’t say the same out there in Keller. Now go away.

  3. Speaking of Scott Walker:

    Excerpt:
A state Veterans Affairs Board member has resigned.

Marv Freedman wrote in a letter Tuesday to Republican Gov. Scott Walker that he was upset with a bill Walker signed in July that stripped the board of its power to appoint the state Department of Veterans Affairs secretary. Freedman also criticized Walker’s decision to re-hire former Secretary John Scocos to the post in August.

The board fired Scocos in 2009, blaming him for financial problems and miscommunications at the agency.

  4. Dave,

Be careful about mentioning Ron Paul here. There is a psychotic person off of Meds on here that will make your life hell from what I have read. I have looked back almost 3 months and have decided a few absolutes. Some people have no boundaries in communicating on here. I feel for the family unit as a whole if this is how the act when they are basically unknown.

  5. Oh ya, but many fear that Romney is (has shown) his flip floppimg to be which ever way the wind blows, so neo cons do fear him in that respect. I’ve even read about a possible Rommey/ Rand Paul ticket which I think is doubtful, but would scare the hell outta the GOP

  6. Just read that Perry will campaign for Newt in Texas. Texas has 155 winner take all delegates.

  7. rafflaw, Perry, Palin and Gingrich are saying that Newt had a conversion to diffuse the ex’s story. Dave S, Some of the neo-cons such as Bolton are supporting Romney.

  8. Newt is a scary individual indeed, the neo-con rabble love this guy because he’d certainly expand the Bush/Obama policy of remaking the middle east, torture, rendition, violating international law, same story for 10 years now. The Neo-Cons are desperately trying to hold onto power in the republican party and with the rise of Dr. Paul they are rallying behind a real monster in Newt, he’d be Bush/Obama on steroids on foreign policy.

  9. Jefferson Airplanes-…..White Rabbit comes to mind and….those folks that did What a Strange Trips it been…..maybe we’ll be greatful if he becomes dust in the wind……

Or heck he could become a song writer himself…..

    Here’s a potential one….

    Grandma was driving her sleigh….

Grandpa ran her over in his Chevrolet…

The Moon Shine was bright and we all knew Grandpa was never right….

Thats why we’re always in fright…

I fear him to God with all my might…..

But were going to Grandma services today….

Cause Grandpa can’t find his Chevrolet…..

  10. Lotta,
Great link to the Bradblog story. I do believe that the Dems will win at the appellate level, but the Walkerites are buying some time.
    Swarthmore Mom,
Newt seems to think that he is God’s gift to womenkind and he needs to be shared with other women. Preferably younger women, of course!

  11. The United States is exceptional. We led the way after World War II in crating war crimes and prosecuting Germans for dismantling civil rights protections. Google: The Judges Trial. Gingrich would have been prosecuted along with Alstoetter. Google: Reichstag Fire Decrees.

Get some history America and review your own history. Dont leave it to us dogs to clue you in. Newt is a lizard and needs to be cast aside as a viable candidate. I denominate him as Herr Newtster.

    1. Blouise,
As for Jen. Politics in America can be characterized as AY quoted:”What a long, strange trip it’s been!” I’m sticking with my prediction and hoping I’m wrong because he would have a good chance of winning. The Bush’s really are a crime family that would make the Genovese’s look like benign amateurs.

  12. Roadblocks to Walker recall facilitated by ‘activist’ Republican judge:

“1 Million Recall Signatures vs. 1 Partisan Judge
Activist right-wing judge threatens to thwart democracy by legislating from the bench in favor of Walker…”

  13. Swarthmore Mom,
I didn’t know that Natalie Portman was a Republican? She might make a better VP candidate than Marco! 🙂

  14. SwM,

When it gets cold and icy like it is now I cut the walk back to 2 miles daily. I figure the calories that extra mile used are being used by shivering for 2 miles. Rationalization is my middle name.

  15. Mike S.,

You love to scare us with Jeb, don’t you? 🙂

Although anything is possible, I don’t think Jeb will put himself out there mainly because he doesn’t want to risk another contest like his brother experienced first time around. He’ll wait till 2016 when there is no incumbent and his chances of a clean win are better. Besides, his mother, back in 2007 when asked about Jeb running, said the country won’t want another Bush for another 8 years. Barb always had a big mouth.

  16. idealist707,

I agree 100% and have been saying the same thing … for Republicans it’s all about the states this time around. They’ll wait for 2016 and run Jeb.
