Tucker Carlson: Iran Deserves To Be Annihilated

Tucker Carlson is back and it appears that his stint on Dancing With The Stars left him a bit frisky. In this interview on Fox, Tucker Carlson states that not only is the United States the only country with the moral standing to launch a preemptive strike on Iran but Iran “deserves to be annihilated.”

However, Carlson is not without moral qualms about another war . . . well not without qualms. He notes that he is worried how annihilating Iran might increase gas prices. For that reason, he opposes a war at this time. Some 76 million people to be annihilated and Tucker Carlson is worried about another buck at the pump?

I liked him more when his concerns ran from the Rumba to the Watusi.

If it is any solace, he is not alone in feeling that whole countries deserve annihilation, as reported on the same say. It is a sentiment found common in places like Iran, but of course they do not worry about gas prices like decent folk.

  1. Tucker, how about “YOU” leading the charge, its easy to talk that BS in a studio.

BTW still waiting for that other brave comrade of yours”hannity” to be waterboarded, give me a break.

  2. Folks,
Don’t stare at the obvious target. Look for the money motive…..!
    .
Tucker is: a trial balloon testing for public reaction (paid), seeking air time (payent maybe later), seeking publicity to promote himself in general and hoping to be invited for a few trips and meals to do photo ops with Rep candidates, etc, etc. He’d do it to himself with a dildo if it paid and got him airtime. He’s the guy who gives whoring a bad name.

So he trying to find a branch he can swing on, which is not already occupied.
Branding you know; how long does DWS fame last?

  3. I think every nation has the right to annihilate Iran. Iran definitely deserves to be obliterated.

It does not have to be the United States that does it, but it should be done soon.

A quick low cost operation; attack, annihilation and on to other matters.

    Censorship is evil.

  4. Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney critizised the approach of U.S. President Barack Obama vis a vis Iran on Wednesday, saying he should have communicated that a military option is not only on the table, but “in our hand.”

Speaking at the Republican Debate in Arizona, Romney said Obama, who has tightened sanctions against Iran several times including recent measures against its central bank, could have imposed “crippling sanctions” on Iran, but chose not to.

  5. Tucker Carlson is an idiot. The mullahs and the present regime are the problem. To annihilate 65 million people for the actions of a handful extreme radicals and miscreants is reductio ad absurdum. One of the many languages I am familiar with is Farsi. The general population is against the present regime. In 2009 when America had a chance to help overthrow the regime, with very little cost to us, Obama failed to perform. Tucker could not debate me because he is an extremely uninformed individual who like the many in the media have a microphone but not many brain cells. Mark Davis MD author of Demons of Democracy, a book that Tucker would have a hard time comprehending.

  6. There may be some repetition in the following Greenwald posting.

    Excerpt:

Tucker Carlson has long been a vocal, public advocate of the justness of American wars, but, at age 42, he is yet to enlist to fight any of them. Last night on Fox News, he unleashed what appeared to be one of the more vile comments heard in quite some time, as he publicly opined that “Iran deserves to be annihilated” (see video below):

CARLSON: I think we are the only country with the moral authority […] sufficient to do that. [The U.S. is] the only country that doesn’t seek hegemony in the world. I do think, I’m sure I’m the lone voice in saying this, that Iran deserves to be annihilated. I think they’re lunatics. I think they’re evil.

The only reservation he expressed was that “we should assess what will happen to the price of energy were we to do that.” And yes, he did say that the United States — the country whose actions are depicted by this map — is “the only country that doesn’t seek hegemony in the world.” And yes, he also — with a straight face — called for the annihilation of 75 million people at the same time that he said about someone else: “they’re lunatics. I think they’re evil.”

I had an email exchange with Carlson today about these remarks in which I attempted several times to get him to elaborate. It began quite acrimoniously but eventually led to his repudiating what he seemed to be saying and explaining that he misspoke (despite his suggestion to me, Carlson described in a New York Observer interview how he publicly supported the Iraq War at the start, though he turned against it fairly quickly). In any event, it’s good that he renounced these remarks, and I found the exchange with him (which can be read here) to be quite interesting on a few levels (a small portion of what he said took place, at his request, off the record, though it did not at all change the on-the-record part of the exchange). 7. To be moral is to be like Jesus is. Jesus strikes no one. Jesus prevents stones from being thrown.

  8. Stop that talk right now. To God all of us should have been annihilated. There is none that doeth good no not one. it is God in us that does good. Overcome evil with good, and get good for your soul. Having humans see a good soul is catching. That is better than annihilating any day.

  9. We are the only ones who have the “moral authority” to launch preemptive strikes? There are so many things wrong with that statement. That’s a frightening and shameful statement.

  10. “the United States the only country with the moral standing” … that’s a joke, right?

  11. The saddest aspect of the story is that at least 30 percent of our fellow Americans agree with him and think we should “kill ’em all! … cuz they don’t respect life like we do,”

  12. The US is the only country with moral standing…..I like that twist….. How about they have our oil…..and we want it for the business valuations of our once US based corporations……profits can’t be diluted…
