A Little Bird Told Me: Parakeet Supplies Police With Address To Be Returned Home

For years, I have warned clients of the dangers of parakeets and their ability to give evidence against you.  We have an example of this testimonial capability out of Sagamihara, Japan, though with a happy ending.  Piko-chan was lost and simply gave police his address.

The owner says that she previously lost a parakeet so she taught the bird her address. When asked however about the parakeet giving the chemical composition of methamphetamine, the owner insisted that Piko-chan is almost a habitual liar. (Okay, I made up the last part but that would have been awesome).

The male bird, called Piko-chan, escaped early Sunday morning from his home in the city of Sagamihara and remained at large before being coaxed into perching on the shoulder of a guest at a nearby hotel.

He was handed over to local police, but Piko-chan did not speak until Tuesday evening, when he blurted out the names of the city and district where his owner’s home is located, a police spokesman said.

The stunned cops then listened as the parakeet produced the home’s block and street number.

  1. I simply could not leave your website before suggesting that I really enjoyed the usual information an individual supply in your visitors? Is gonna be back frequently in order to inspect new posts.

  2. Doesn’t that parakeet know the requirements of the Geneva Convention?!

  3. “For years, I have warned clients of the dangers of parakeets and their ability to give evidence against you.”

Doesn’t speak well of the innocence of your clients.

Of course in my case, my parrot might testify that – late at night – I’ve been seen to consume an entire box of cookies.

  4. How do you waterboard a parakeet? And don’t ask where you get the heart to do it.
Same place where JT got his punch line.
If you can’t recite it in 2 seconds then you’re no lawyer? And if the arresting officer can’t, the case is dismissed.

  5. We dogs have dog tags. Humanoids started the practice when they went to war.

  6. Caught Sunday but didn;t speak until Tuesday? What kind of torture did they do to get him to tweet? ((*_*))
