Right before five people in a car ran a red light and crashed into a wall in Ontario, California, one of the occupants sent a tweet reading: “Drunk (expletive) going 120 drifting corners.” He followed it up at 1:20 a with “Driving tweeting sipping the cup (expletive) yolo I’m turning it up.” YOLO means “You Only Live Once. A few minutes later, all five were dead in the 2005 Nissan that crashed into the backyard of a house. The tweet was sent by @ink2flashyy belonging to Ervin McKinness, 21 (shown left).
With him in the car were Marquell Bogan (shown below left), 23, and Dylan George, 20 (shown below right), Jonathan Watson, 21, of San Bernardino, and JaJuan Bennett, 23. Watson was driving (shown right).
Bogan was the only one who did not die at the scene. He died at the hospital about thirty minutes later.
It is only fortunate that no one else was hurt from this reckless act. The car actually came to rest near the bedroom of the house.

Jokes aside, my heart goes out to that poor Nissan, and the back yard it tragically wound up demolished in. It’s a true pity that your owners were swagfags. At least had the decency not to take anyone with them that didn’t deserve it.

Young people aren’t even fully baked until their mid-twenties. YouTube has about a 100,000 vids of teenagers and young people, mostly male, engaging in high risk behavior for ‘fun’, many of them involving motorized vehicles. The behaviour exhibited by this driver is unusual in that it got him and his friends killed. I’m glad the physical damage was limited to only them since they were literally the moving party.
At one time this lack of self-regulation may have turned the young Mr. Watson into a hero, on the battlefield, or the hunt or the expansion of a nation, but now at this point in our cultural evolution (as a species), it’s just a stupid waste.

Please read my posts. Is that not addressing the issues, if in facetious tones and facetious solutions.
We know the causes. When do we give youth a chance and a guiding hand. That there will be stupid things done as Betty Kath says is part of growing up which as yet remains to be controlled by youth, but not by rote instruction following.
But if you see yourself and those around you despised, that is a bad start. Not simplifying, as it’s much more than that. And some of it is out of reach; in each cop’s heart (black or white or chicano), in the war on drugs (marijuana use), the list is very long.

When will people learn that texting and driving are a bad combination. Coupled with being drunk and reckless, it’s only a matter of time before death or serious injury.
Another thing, why is it so often the case here where a completely non-political event such as this turns into a venue for political grandstanding on those running for office or criticisim of political figures for unrelated political subjects? How about discussing the issue at hand according to the topic or related issues?

I guess I see this a bit differently. The guys were 20-23. Guys that age do stupid things, much of it while or after drinking too much. It’s not b/c they are Black. It is b/c they are young and lacking in judgement. I remember some events from college (same age) where similar activities could have ended just as tragically. It’s a really sad story with five families and a neighborhood devastated.
Yes, no big loss. Reiterate the sentiment that it’s good that nobody else was taken by this reckless behavior.
I hate drunk drivers they have cost me personally more than I feel I can bear sometimes. I don’t want to say I am glad this one killed himself but I am glad that he didn’t take another carload with him. Don’t know about the other kids in the car, the story of how they ended up there could be less clear but it does not seem like the world is worse off without that guy being in it.
