Railway Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has put a $100,000 bounty on the head of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man who made the anti-Islamic film “The Innocence of Muslims.” The offer to pay anyone who kills the filmmaker is reminscent of the Fatwa placed on the head of Salman Rushdie for his book, The Satanic Verses. However, this is not just a government official but an official in the government of a U.S. ally calling for the murder of a U.S. citizen. Yet, Bilour insisted “I am a Muslim first, then a government representative.”
Bilour also sought to enlist the Taliban and al Qaeda to carry out the assassination. Thus, in addition to wanting to be a murderer, Bilour wants to be a coconspirator with terrorists . . . when he is not managing trains as a government minister. He is a member of the Awami National Party. Sen. Zahid Khan, a spokesman for Bilour’s political party, insists that “we have lots of concerns over the statement of our colleague.” Since it is a confession of wanting to be both a murderer working with terrorist organizations, those “concerns” would seem considerable. The government itself has distanced itself from the comments but has not stated that it is taking steps to remove Bilour from any position of responsibility. Notably, his own party is viewed as anti-Taliban.
The question is whether Bilour will be immediately thrown from the government and his party. It seems odd that blasphemy is immediately subject to criminal charge in Pakistan, but a minister can try to hire terrorist hitmen and raise only initial “concerns” among party and government officials.

How much for Bilour’s head?
Now I am just suspicious of people manufacturing nutso-news all over the place. Nothing seems real. Catch this story:
The fraudster-turned-filmmaker behind the anti-Islam movie that sparked violent protests across the Muslim world was arrested Thursday for violating his probation.
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was convicted in 2010 for orchestrating a scheme to defraud Wells Fargo bank — and sentenced to 21 months in prison.
As a condition of his release, he was barred from using computers or the Internet without approval from his probation officer.
But Nakoula flagrantly violated those terms when he posted a trailer of his crude and inflammatory “Innocence of Muslims” film on YouTube, federal prosecutors said.
Nakoula, who was living in the Los Angeles suburb of Cerritos, was slated to appear in a U.S. District Court late Thursday. The hearing was closed to the media and the public.
Nakoula’s video, which portrays the Prophet Mohammed as a womanizer and child molester, set off a deadly power keg from Libya to Egypt.
Though the 14-minute trailer was posted to YouTube in July, the unrest didn’t flare up until Sept. 11 and has since spread, killing more than a dozen people.

can there be any legal action against this minister who is inciting violence towards a citizen of another country?
He needs an international warrant out
What Justice Holms says is part of the solution. But we got to get our say considered before his can be done. With much respect to a highly regarded commenter.
MY SUMMARY OF IT ALL?????
The corporates who rule this country have not given up on maximising their takeout here, they simply realized some units paid better other places outside the USA. NO news there.
They also realized that they could play the war and patriotism game, build war industries, including varioous variants (contracting services for ex), and milk us for even more via the tax system. No news either.
And then they realized that with those powersa and positions that they could more or less do with the world just as they have done in America. No risk.
Because if the particular enterprixe breaks out in a real war, ie not planned by us, that war is always, at least, cost plus 10 percent minimum—-and in reality billions upon billions in pure rakeoff into their coffers.
Patrick Henry said give me liberty or give me death.
We’ve lost the liberty to choose what our nation does, and thus our own liberty.
Is it time to do some dieing?
Yours to choose. That liberty remains. Or does it?
Only one way to tell.
Thanks Woosty for the preview. Wonder how I can see it over here.
Belicve me, all this was not written to promote an ABC programs series.
We’ve got to see through this stage scenery and propaganda screen to see what is really there.
We say conventionally that corporations buy politicians. With whose money? Ours. Break it ALL down that way. Go do it. Come back and tell the rest of us.
Will the minister be using US taxpayer dollars to fund this bounty? It is time for us to disengage. We are seen as a weak nation that pays to be whipped, shot, killed and then offers to pay more money so that the “victims” who abused us can buy more bullets. Are we perfect? No, far from it but it is time to stop accepting this victim act and tell these countries that the pay day is over.
