Noam Chomsky Goes Gangnam Style

Noam Chomsky, considered one of the world’s leading intellectuals, makes a surprising appearance in this MIT takeoff of the popular Gangnam Style video. Chomsky is an Institute Professor and Professor (Emeritus) in the Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at MIT.

Chomsky appears around 3:30 and it is hilarious that they convinced him and various MIT professors to participate in the spoof.

These takeoffs of the video are proliferating. One of the best is Romney Style below. Even if you are a supporter, you have to admit that it is pretty funny. I gave the Al Smith dinner to Romney but I have to give the best Gangnam Style parady to Obama supporters:

  1. “Noam Chomsky, considered one of the world’s leading intellectuals,” is a nice phrase, but I wouldn’t take a history course taught by him or Einstein. The problem with Chomsky is that he thought his intellect does extend that far. If you read about his view of Pol Pot, and his denial until he couldn’t deny, you’d see that this phrase “considered one of the world’s leading intellectuals” is meaningless outside his discipline. He has no more insight outside of his discipline than any other lay person, because outside his discipline he was a lay person too.

  2. SwM,

I am too one of us. Proud to be so. It is called humanity and there is not a drop in the Romney/Ryan or his backers. So whatever big O. does, we know a little of what he is fighting for and it is keeping his fascists under control and fed. Remember my take on Benghazi?

It is really a fight between Poppy Bush et al and the USA. And right now Poppy has more black ops teams.

Clinton and Biden are great. Clinton can charm my
testicles off me, and I would only ask if I could loan them once a month. Thank goodness a wienie renews itself, because his would be worn away a long time ago. What a charmer. How do ladies learn to stand in line without looking needy?

He took the interviewer at Fox News and sliced him up and put a piece on each fact he himself had put on the table.
    Nice taste for garniture.

  3. Nick,

That you should ask that. Are you imitating ElaineM’s tactics? What do you mean by ……? Can you give an example of ……? Shame, now go back to being the Nick we know and love.

And we know and love ElaineM too. She is a fierce warrior. Nor the kind you meet on the PI beat perhaps. And that does not mean that I have forgotten your help when she
woúld not admit that schoolteachers had professional mannerismz. Could have walked a zebra by her and she would have called it an iguana.

  4. Swarthmore mom

He believes that the government should be in the business of providing services to its citizens and a woman’s right to choose among other things.

  7. I must be spending too much time here………(?) news to me. But then I don’t visit those plaes like UN….!

I think I will also see it 15 times….not to compete but to BE in the Oppan Gangnam Style. Cheaper than crank.

    To AY who said:
“….Generally as a rule die hards of either party have no sense of humor…unless it’s the other guy….or woman….”

Have you ever noticed humor on the Red side of the aisle?
Schadenfreude perhaps. When the jokes on us. Which is why they smile constantly.

Put it on replay. Listen. Doesn’t it describe the world?
