Mohamed A. Salim, 39, served this country in Iraq in intelligence and as a linguist. He served at the Guantanamo Bay detention center. Yet, he allegedly still suffered a beating and a broken jaw in his own country because of his Somali ethnicity and religion. Salim is a cab driver who picked up Emerald Aviation President Ed Dahlberg at the Country Club in Fairfax, Virginia. Dahlberg proceeded to accuse him of being a jihadist and allegedly attacked him. Emerald Aviation’s website is down for “scheduled maintenance” in the aftermath of Dahlberg’s arrest.
According to Salim, he picked up Dahlberg around 2 am but Dahlberg insisted that he wait while he finished his beer. Salim recorded what transpired on his cell phone. Dahlberg demanded that Salim define “jihad” and accusing him of being one of the “radical fucking Muslims blowing people up all over the world.” He demands that Salim “Denounce those motherfuckers now!” while adding “If you’re a fucking Muslim flying jets into the fucking World Trade Center then fuck you. I will slice your fucking throat right now.” On the tape, Salim is heard asking “Why are you punching me? Sir, why are you punching me?” The passenger replies: “You’re a [expletive] Muslim.”
Dahlberg is accused of trying to grab the cell phone and then leaving — only to return to break Salim’s jaw and then running into the forest.
What is astonishing is that Dahlberg is only charged with misdemeanor assault while police determine if charges should be elevated to a felony hate crime. Many civil libertarians are leery of hate crime charges. However, I fail to see why such a serious assault would need the hate crime element to be elevated to a felony. However, here is the provision:
18.2-57. Assault and battery.
A. Any person who commits a simple assault or assault and battery shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor, and if the person intentionally selects the person against whom a simple assault is committed because of his race,religious conviction, color or national origin, the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.
B. However, if a person intentionally selects the person against whom an assault and battery resulting in bodily injury is committed because of his race, religious conviction, color or national origin, the person shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony, and the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.
Dahlberg’s attorney, Demetry Pikrallidas, insists that there was no assault. Of course, even if this is accepted in court, there remains the appearance of this corporate president as an unhinged bigot. Then there is the added likelihood of a tort lawsuit for assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress. There might also be potential liability for the country club depending on its reaction to the incident as it was unfolding.

I’ve seen the video that the Muslim cab driver took of his encounter with Dahlberg. When Dahlberg asks the Muslim if he condemns the murders of Americans on 911, the Muslim does not do so. Dahlberg then gets angry with the Muslim–even though Dahlberg should know that ALL Muslims approve of the 911 murders of Americans and would be delighted to see more of them killed. Of course, the Muslim goes on to defend Jihad and the murders of Americans. The Muslim driver did his best to bait Dahlberg, but Dahlberg remarkably kept his cool in my opinion. Dahlberg then exits the taxi. That’s it!
There’s no evidence on the camera video tape that Dahlberg struck the Muslim, let alone broke his jaw. And when you see the Muslim in a special interview arranged by his handlers at CAIR–the organization dedicated to protecting Muslim terrorists, the Muslim looks perfectly okay. No signs of even swelling, no difficulty in speaking, etc. In short his “injury” seems as phony as a $3 bill. Looks to me like CAIR and this Muslim are just out for some publicity and a lawsuit.
I’d take that even further. If there were an injury, it looks like the handlers at CAIR arranged to punch the Muslim in the face themselves to make it look like Dahlberg hit him, after CAIR got the Muslim’s video. This scheme is right out of the Clint Eastwood movie, Dirty Harry (the original), in which the some criminal wants to blame Harry for punching him in the face (arguing police “abuse”). Later when Harry’s boss confronts Harry about slugging the criminal, Harry says, “You can see as plain as day that I never hit that guy.”
“Oh yeah,” says the boss, “How’s that?”
“Because he looks too damn good,” Harry responds.

Both thought they had the right to kill the extortioners, that is the Capitalists or the Jews.
Both claimed they were socialists.
Both have been accused, by each other and by others, of not being true socialists.
Both think they are morally higher standing than others.
Both Hitler and Stalin were uninterested in personal luxury.
Both had high ranking officials very interested in personal luxury.
Both had big differences between ruling and working classes.
Both believed in inequality. The Nazis in racial inequality. The Communists in the supremacy of the Communist party.
Both murdered people they saw as inferior, by race or by class.
Both claimed “scientific” support. The Nazis had their Race Science. The Communists had Lysenkoism and Materialist Dialectics.
Both despised the weak Western democracy.
Both claimed they were acting for the people. To both, their enemies were enemies of the people.
Both started the Second World War with their agreement to partition Poland. Both worked together (for a while) fighting the Capitalists.
Both claimed, when it was tactically convenient, that they wanted peace and that those who opposed them were warmongers.

Both thought it is right to do revolution.

Just got a note from son who used to be an AME (Class I, II & III) when he was in private practice. His response to reading this story was,
I think the FAA is going to be paying him a visit soon, especially if he gets convicted, which seems more than likely given the tape. On his medical it has a spot to ask if you have been convicted of any crimes, and I hope that this fool will have to admit to a felony at least. Then he will get a letter in the mail informing him that he has to see a medical specialist, probably an abuse counselor. I hope that is the case since I sure as hell do not want him in the same airspace as myself and others.
Country Clubs! What is the name of that place in Augusta Georgia that would not let black people golf for years? They are only now letting women in the gate. Tiger had to go in the back gate and say Yousa to get in. If you belong to a country club in America ask closely about its history. When did it integrate? Do they think that their poop does not stink? Do they have caddies? Are you not a weenie if you cant carry your own golf clubs or put them in a golf cart?

For another example, Muslims do not automatically fall under one side of the political spectrum or another simply because of their faith. His business appears to be an aircraft bokerage. he buy and sells planes. I looked for some business reviews that were dated before the cabbie incident. The few that I did find were not flattering. I found one complaint of him calling a plane owner repeatedly, despite the owner telling him the plane was not even for sale.

I think that the defendant is bi polar. Or perhaps manic depressive. Or perhaps paranoid schizophrenic. Since he attends at country club it is likely that his own shrink and his shrink at his trial will say bi polar. Bi polar is more socially acceptable than the other two diagnosises. But if he is paranoid schzophrenic then he has a stronger not guilty by reason of insanity defense because that DSM IV has greater severity. So the bi polar appendage will not get him off on n.g.r.i. but might get hims some sympathy from the devil. If he pleads manic depressive he can give a rational explantion that he was depressed because his mania was wearing off. I could go on but there are two bears outside who want in and one looks like Yogi so they are not polar and its ok.
