Texas Executes 500th Prisoner Since 1976

Terrehaute_gurneyperryYesterday presented what some would view as a striking contradiction as Texas Governor proclaimed that Texas “values life” in pushing for a bill that would have imposed strict new regulations on abortion while the state marked its 500th execution with the death of Kimberly McCarthy. She is the 500th to die in Texas since the reinstatement of the death penalty in 1976.

McCarthy was a 52-year-old former occupational therapist who was convicted in 1997 of murdering her elderly neighbor, a retired professor, in a botched robbery.

Texas continues to lead the nation in executions though last year Texas executed more people than people sentenced to death for an eighth year in a row.

Here is the most striking statistic: just four states — Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arizona — accounted for three quarters of all U.S. executions in 2012.

May I suggest a Blood Alcohol level of .06 or lower before posting comments?

  2. George,

I guess if everyone will just turns Gay then that’ll get rid of that whole abortion issue.

You 1st, I’ll wait a few decades & see how it works out for you. 😉

  3. Notice that I like most of what Alex Jones/infowars are doing, yet I disagree with his/their position on abortion.

When did it happen that people became unable to have opinions that are not in total agreement with everyone else?

You don’t like guns, don’t get one, you don’t like abortions, don’t get one, etc., etc… You like drinking Monsanto’s roundup, fine, keep it on your own property & off mine.

  4. A lot of people to me appear that they are so locked into their political positions that they can’t see what’s going on around them.

Like 2 roosters fighting each other not know they are both are hours away from being taken to the butcher shop.

To your question, women who commits abortions are terrorists.

    George,

what about that rancher down the road from me spraying Monsanto’s roundup?

Isn’t he really a terrorist also for spraying my air with a known trigger for cancers?

  6. lottakatz,

I know people around that have had it drilled into their heads that all abortions/masturbation is murder.

So in their mind some of them can justify murdering those they believe have committed murder by abortion/masturbation.

    Just more twisted religious crap.

I don’t believe life begins at conception & Roe v Wade got the issue about as close to correct as a govt could.

It seems like a simple issue to me, if all those 50-60 year old males who hate abortion & don’t agree with RvW then they shouldn’t get an abortion & stay out of that 20 year old rape victim’s business.

Worst this abortion issue, gays, guns, race etc., all keep the needed focus off of the total corrupt Wallst/London banks/Insur & the DC polecats.

Wow, another few minutes of my valuable time I totally wasted on the NWO’s abortion crap!

    1. Religions people don’t know an obvious verse. If you cannot contain is masturbating. God is not unreasonable. He knows that will occur. God obviously likes life. If the seed can be used to make life by all means use it to make life.

  7. Oky1;

You are misinformed (or “assumed”) – that the POTUS is “The TOP” leadership.

A book is due out soon, from my friend Andrew Kreig – titled Presidential Puppetry. We are presented a person to focus upon (POTUS) – and the “TOP” is never revealed!

To your question, women who committ abortions are terrorists.

    1. I cannot disagree. The callousness of the abortions are freely done with a total disregard for life not even valuing the soul of whoever not even their own soul. War is the same way, but people fall into that as easily as people aborted. They are related all three as one. Abortion, war, and terrorism. A law does not make people abort or not abort. That is the choice of whoever.

Artie you haven’t a clue about what you are saying. You ask my mother who had to go before a male judge and lay bare her confidential medical h istory in order to get this non medical person to give her “permission” to have an abortion. You ask my sister who did not know she was pregnant when they did an xrey for her back thorugh her abdomen. As a result the fetus was horrendously deformed. She was told medically she had to have an abortion.
Would you rather she have to continue the pregnancy until she delivered this mass of malformed flesh vaginally so she could suffer even more? Would you prefer my mother had become psychotic by being forced to carry thru her pregnancy?.
Would you prefer a 12 year old be forced to carry a pregnancy from incest?
The terrosists are the (primarily) men who want to make women chattel again and force them to go through with a personson medical situation that is the business only of the woman, and her doctor.

  9. laserhaas,

I posted this piece below on another thread.

I find it another interesting piece of the puzzle of those that control Obama/Romney & the rest of these NWO/globalist creeps.

Just wait or check for yourself on the stats of the millions of us they are killing off.

Right now I’m seeing indications that of us that are alive today in the US in just the next 5-7 years a full third of us will be dead from things like cancers from nuke leaks, GMO foods, vaccines etc.,etc…

Many of those remaining will be to sickly to resist much.

Worst, I see it as a worldwide quickening.

Those running their business plan have been very successful at dividing us politically with social issues instead of us removing them from their position of power.

Obama vs Romney makes that point as we really had no choice at all.

The only one that was even close was Ron Paul, but I wonder if even he would/could hold somewhat true to his postions.

And what would Senator Paul Wellstone have to say about what’s going on today if he were still alive?

With us having almost no leadership at the top the only choice I see we have is to work at whatever level we have access to.

  10. Everybody here is crazy. We here in Texas only give people what THEY want when THEY committ a capital murder and that is death. They asked for it and they get it.

  11. People in Texas are crazy. This is the second time this has happened, it happened last year also and the speculation was that it was because of Davis’ advocacy for Planned Parenthood.

“While Wendy Davis Filibustered Texas Abortion Law, Someone Firebombed Her Office”

    “Terrorism in Texas:
At least two fire bombs were thrown at the Fort Worth office of state Sen. Wendy Davis (D) on Tuesday night, according to the Star Telegram.
Davis was not in her office at the time, but some staff members were present. They used a fire extinguisher to put out the small blaze.
No one was injured in the attack, but the lawmaker’s office was damaged by the fire.” continues.

      1. “Can people that kill for the sake of killing not be called a terrorist?”

Some in the msm used to make ludicrous remarks like ‘one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter’.

I think it is useful to distinguish terrorists from others who murder and use violence. Terrorist use violence or the threat of violence against non-combatants to promote a political point of view or a social cause.

In that sense, some freedom fighters use terrorism as a tool other freedom fighters do not.

In particular, it seems to me that fire bombing a political head quarters is clearly an act of terrorism. I believe, and hope, most of us, how ever we may feel about the political issues, can joint together in condemning those who introduce violence into our political process.

But people who kill for the sake of killing are not terrorist. They may be psychopaths. They may be sportsmen. They may be terrifying. But killing for the sake of killing is not terrorism – not unless the political message is that killing is to be promoted as a value.

        1. Freedom does not come from killing. The devil thinks that is the way. Had killing be the way Jesus would have lefty no doubt. Why have people never seen this? Terrorist learn from terrorists. A person kills or is according to you a traditional terrorism sees killing as power. Remove the lie that killing is power people will begin to stop killing. Death penalty supports the false notion that killing is power. Jailing is not power either. Had it be Jesus would have been the jail warden of all of us. After all he is prefect in every way.
i am not talking about sportsmen. Thou shalt not kill refers to people. On the other hand God does not like killing of non human animals with humans thinking God likes it. War is killing for the sake of killing. Sharia law the same. Good gravy man Jesus did not teach people to kill people. Why kill in any capability? Mercy is not in any of it. The lack of mercy with jails makes home of the free a lie above all lies.

        2. BFM,

Good point. I think that by broadening out the definition of terrorism the powers that be are trying to further terrorize us. If all killers are terrorists than we need more law enforcement to protect us and the law enforcers then should now be military and para-military.

  12. Oky1

It would appear that (as far as Big Gov and U.S. Sup. Ct are concerned) – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are expendable for the sake of special interests.

It is almost “As IF” we are living out an “X” Files plot by an alien culture to obliterate the earth by death, war, fracking and other such destruction.

    OR

Romney and his ilk “really” believe they are going to the Planet home of of Angel Moroni with the plot to take all that they can and leave as little as possible to remain here on Earth.

  13. Thanks for the PDF – anon @1:57

TY – too – “Swarthmore” – for the YouTube link.

Otteray, I’m going to “RE” the D on DK of the issues with Cameron (and update with Youtube video provided by Swarthmore)

  14. People are obsessed with arresting and death giving thinking surly if I arrest or kill in whatever way God will accept me because I think I did a good work. I tried to rid the world of evil. I by my effort am trying to bring peace by killing and incarcerating. let me in Lord. Look at all of the good works I did. Will the Lord accept or reject him? I say reject.

Fret not dear fellow good faith citizens, for Governor “Parry” is going to be “Thrust” with his own words and claims; if there truly be a heaven & hell.

He put Cameron Todd Willingham to death (a man whose children were killed by a house fire and a phony forensic scientist helped faked evidence to execute him) – all the whil KNOWING that Cameron was innocent.

The story still works up my emotional angst to the highest levels and tests my sense of civility. For, on this one issue – I would personally welcome time in a room alone with Governor Perry.

An “after the fact” (murder) investigation that would have slammed the Governor and Prosecution of Cameron Todd was quashed on the eve of its release.

Here’s a link to my previous story – with details of the forensic frauds that helped convict innocents – so that careers could be made by executions.

    I love Oklahoma (having lived there more than once);
but hate its “Righteous blood lust” – more than I despise the tornadoes!
    **

    laserhaas,

I agree, I also hate their “Righteous blood lust” here.

I don’t favor the death penalty even though there plenty evil creeps that it seems fitting.

But because the govt has shown itself corrupt so many times I favor banning the death penalty except in cases involving major political leaders/Wallst/London Bank/Insurance CEO/leader types.

Notice the management of Monsanto are still on the loose harming people.

And our govt is harboring the Union Carbide criminals on the run from justice in India. I forget how were killed there.

  17. Have LONG admired you works/pics from afar – and followed your candor eagerly (even after J booted me out of J). MB was the guy who woke me up from my zombie RWNJ entrenchment.

Always have admired Professor Turley’s works here and was well pleased to find you at the job here – too.

    KEEP up the good works.
