Who’s To Blame For George Zimmerman’s Most Recent Violent Assault Charge? Why It’s You His Former Lawyer Says

By Mark Esposito, Guest Blogger

“Now if I stop there it sort of sounds like I’m asking you to let my guilty client go,” O’Mara told the jury. “I’m not. He’s not guilty of anything but protecting his own life. But the quote continues, ‘but for guilt and crimes that are so frequent in this world that they cannot all be punished, but if innocence itself is brought to the bar and condemned, perhaps to die, then the citizens say whether I do good or whether I do evil is immaterial. If innocence itself is no protection, and if such an idea as that were to take hold in the mind of the citizens, then it would be the end of security whatsoever.’”
~Mark O’Mara’s closing argument to the jury in State of Florida v. George Zimmerman

Does George and Lawyer Don West Know Something We Don't?
Do George and Lawyer Don West Know Something We Don’t?

Innocence?  You remember George Zimmerman from the last news cycle, right?   He’s the wanna-be Batman, who shot and killed Trayvon Martin on a rainy night as the teenager came back from the all-night convenience store. George was that “mellow” and “peaceful” man who just happened to pack a gun for self-defense according to his then-lawyer, Mark O’Mara. Exonerated by a hand-picked jury, one of whom now regrets the acquittal saying he “got away with murder,” Zimmerman, we were told, would just ride off into the sunset with his loving and apparently loyal to the point of perjury wife, chastened by the experience of being wrongly accused of murder. George was a victim in all of this his family said, and threats to his life were comparable to the Aurora Theatre shooting or the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He needs protection shouted his brother, Robert Zimmerman, Jr.,  in an email to St. Mary’s Police Chief Steve Bracknell: “Zimmerman is a Sandy Hook, Aurora waiting to happen.  Your job is to protect the communities you serve and you are failing big time.”

George is under assault, you see, and the perpetrators are all of us — or at least all of us who threw some skepticism George’s way. But as recent events have shown, George Zimmerman may not be as innocent in the ways of the world as his spin-meisters would have you believe.

In September, George allegedly stormed into his father-in law’s house and assaulted Shellie Zimmerman, the wife who stood by him throughout the trial but who now says she has “doubts about his innocence.” After smashing up a few things, Zimmerman then allegedly threatened the former love of his life and hit his senior citizen father-in-law in the nose all the while brandishing that ultimate validation of the Second Amendment, a handgun. That case is now dropped after a smashed Ipad failed to corroborate the testimony of two — count ’em — two witnesses.  Zimmerman is the Teflon Man, you see.

This month George did an encore — allegedly — on his new girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, who claims that she too was threatened with a shotgun after Zimmerman smashed up her stuff as heard on a released 911 call. George did his own 911 call rebuttal shortly thereafter and then sat peacefully in the dwelling amid his now locked away shotguns as the police broke down the barricaded door to arrest him.  Guess the doorbell was on the fritz. Zimmerman, ever the object of everyone’s ill-affections, claims it was Scheibe who did the smashing and the threatening. News is now out that Scheibe contacted a reporter prior to the assault to discuss the details of her relationship with Zimmerman, which, of course, led to a chant of Zimmerman apologists that poor ol’ George is being set up and being victimized all over again. Oh, the humanity! George’s new love denies she set him up claiming she stayed with the man who scared her and has a “fascination for guns” because she wanted to help him. Oh, the humanity!

Whatever the truth, most all would agree that Zimmerman is a man on spiral and the direct isn’t towards the heavens. Por que?, you ask, of the man who was simply defending himself from politically driven charges in his epic TV battle? His former lawyer, who sort of represents him in a defamation suit against NBC, but who announced following the alleged assault on Zimmerman’s wife that he no longer represented him and then added he wanted to be paid for  $2.5 million or so in work he’d already done,  claims it’s all the haters out there who changed the sweet, innocent lamb of  “stand your ground” ( I know it wasn’t raised in  the trial but who would claim it wasn’t a big part of the case?) into the Scourge of St. Mary’s. It was all those misguided folks who concluded that shooting a 17-year-old kid armed only with a bag of Skittles and some Arizona Iced Tea was somehow, someway  wrong that caused the trauma that now plagues sweet ol’ George Zimmerman.

“He was turned into one of the most hated men in America for having to defend his life. So I’m not sure what happens with a 28-year-old when you do that to him and put him in hiding for 16 or 18 months. Maybe this is some of that fallout,” tutted the admitted killer’s mouth-piece.

Whew! I’m sure glad  now TV personality Mark O’Mara cleared that up. For a while there, I actually thought George Zimmerman was going to accept some responsibility for his alleged misdeeds. Perish the thought that some remorse is in order for the man whose estranged wife calls a “pacing lion,” and a”ticking time bomb.”

Nope, we’re all indicted in Zimmerman’s blind rage — allegedly — and it seems everyone around him and even beyond  is “in” on the conspiracy to get George. The only innocent in this mess, as Mr. O’Mara claimed then and now,  is George. Formerly a victim of politics and now one of society imposed trauma, Zimmerman ought to swear out his own arrest warrant on all of us who believe, as that  juror with the slow forming epiphany, that maybe George  really did “[get] away with murder.” Ol’ George has become a bastardized version of Janis Ian’s classic tale of woe and the new Society’s Child having been ruthlessly battered by all of us based on our unfounded prejudices.  Quite ironic given the history of the case.

If we’re lucky,  at our trial we can have Mark O’Mara sitting with us a counsel table and the Zimmerman jury as our judges. We’ll be exonerated from every sin — both now and in the future — no matter how despicably we act. Allegedly, of course.

  1. Wow.

One usually has to watch a poorly assembled bicycle to see someone’s chain come off the gears like that.

  2. maddog, You haven’t been paying attention. Z has already abused two girlfriends and a wife. He also threw a woman across a room while working as a bouncer Why would you want any woman subjected more of his abuse?

He’s not on probation. He is out on bail after threatening his latest (former, I hope) girlfriend with a gun (aggravated assault, a felony), pushing her (domestic violence battery, misdemeanor) and breaking her furniture (criminal mischief, misdemeanor). Conditions of his release are: no weapons (he owns three), an ankle bracelet, and staying out of two zones.

  3. I actually found something in luckylarry’s otherwise hateful post that I agree with: “They should NEVER have been taken from their Mother Land”

  4. @Bron “That is pure bullsh*t. DavidM’s comments are no more equivalent to Lucky Larry’s than yours are. What a vile thing to say.”

I think I have to agree.

I almost never agree with DavidM. But he usually tries to present reasoned arguments to support his views. And his views seem to be based on his understanding of morality and economics not racism.

It seems to me that much of the point of this site is to allow people like DavidM to engage and debate those of us who disagree with him and to allow us to respond to him.

I see a huge difference between DavidM’s comments and the vile ad hominem attack of some others.

@Arthur Randolph Erb ” I see no point or profit in trying to deal with this kind of racist bigotry and illogic.”

The only reason that I can see is that we know he will make his comments somewhere. There may be someone reading his comments on the cusp of deciding. I doubt we will ever be able to change the mind of someone like LLS. But, If he makes his comments here at least that person, who may be wavering, will have the benefit of seeing other points of view. Is it better to send him away or to engage him here?

  5. Mike S. I hope you will reconsider the “us and schmucks” comments. His bile has nothing remotely to do with being jewish. It has only to do with the depths of perversions humans are capable. And Kahane shouldn’t be linked to this guy either.

I don’t believe in god or hell. But this guy came from some fiery stinking pit somewhere.

Turley wants civility. There is absolutely NONE to be found in Luckylarry.

    1. pdm,

He had identified himself as a “Jewish Veteran” previously and my response to him had Jewish nuance. Only the stupidest of Jews would be a bigot given Jewish history. But like all other ethnic groups Jews have a normally distributed lack of intelligence.

  6. pdm is right about lls. Ad hominems are discouraged but hate speech is not? He needs to be gone.

  7. Getting back to Z (Zimmerman not Zionism): He needs a new life somewhere outside of Seminole County, FL. He should avoid a new squeeze, particularly a live-in squeeze or wife. He must not have a firearm now, according to his probation, so he should live in a safe neighborhood. Wyoming. Park Ranger. Watch over the owls and deer where the antelope play. He needs a new start. And, he needs a head start.

  8. Another milestone today for me….I enthusiastically agree with Bron. Luckylarry is in a pigsty all by himself. I don’t think DavidM has ever said anything with which I agree – but he is always very civil.

  9. kraaken:

“pdm: Freedom of Speech. The same reason why davidm 2575 is is tolerated.”

That is pure bullsh*t. DavidM’s comments are no more equivalent to Lucky Larry’s than yours are. What a vile thing to say.

  10. Mike Spindell:

I dont think Lucky Larry is a Jewish vet or any kind of vet for that matter.

It is sad that some people really think that way.

  11. This guy “luckylarry” is a filthy poisonous insane pig. Would someone please present the argument why he is allowed to vomit and evacuate his bowels all over this blog.

Jeez. Nick is cautioned all the time and yet THIS guy is met with silence? Doesn’t seem fair.

    1. FORGET ZIMMERMAN, CONCENTRATE ON CHISM:

14 YEAR OLD NEGRO RAPES WHITE TEACHER WITH A BRANCH OF A TREE

14-Year-Old Negro, Philip Chism Rapes 24-Year-Old Teacher With A Tree Branch Before Slitting Her Throat

Update: On November 24th, Breitbart News confirms that Philip Chism used a tree branch to rape his teacher. This adds an entirely new dimension to this story. And not just any branch, a three foot long tree branch. This was not in the original story, since it was not confirmed until after.

The murder of 24-year-old Massachusetts high school teacher Colleen Ritzer on October 22nd, one month ago, sent shock waves across the country. The murder was so horrifying because it was committed by a 14-year-old student named Philip Chism. And the circumstances of the crime were even more chilling, in that Ritzer had asked Chism to stay after school so she could help him prepare for an upcoming math exam. But Philip Chism had other plans. He intended to kill Ms. Ritzer in the most vicious way possible. And he had all the necessary tools with him. The mere thought that a seemingly normal 14-year-old boy could be capable of such a sexually explicit and horrific, premeditated crime is bone chilling.

Philip Chism is in court today, and the details of the crime are more sinister and vile than previously believed. It was known before the court proceedings that Chism had killed Ritzer and hid her body in the woods behind the school. But before the court proceedings, the sexual torture that Ritzer experienced at the hands of Chism wasn’t known. But now the full details of the crime are being made known to the public, and it is much worse than anyone could possibly imagine. Philip Chism used a tree branch to sexually torture his teacher.

A note found near the brutalized body of a beloved Massachusetts teacher who police said was raped and killed by one of her students read,

      “I hate you all.”

Philip Chism, the 14-year-old accused killer, came to Danvers High School on Oct. 22 equipped to kill, the papers showed. He allegedly brought a box cutter, mask, gloves and several changes of clothing.

This was premeditated murder. And to think that a 14-year-old boy would bring a box cutter, mask, and clothing change to school for the purpose of murdering his teacher is more than one can process. Box cutters are crudely fashioned. This is the weapon of terrorists. The mere mention of a box cutter is a reminder of what the Islamic hijackers used on 9/11. But yet, this was what Chism had determined as his weapon of choice when killing his teacher. It’s sickening.

Chism had followed Ritzer and put “on a gloves and a hood as he followed the unsuspecting teacher to a second-floor bathroom.” This was all captured by surveillance cameras.

There, investigators said, Chism punched Ratzer in the face, raped her with “an object,” and slit her throat with the box cutter.

The object couldn’t be more repulsive. A tree branch from outside. Ritzer had innocently gotten up from the tutoring session to use the bathroom. Chism followed her with the intent of sexually torturing her and killing her with a box cutter. It is believed she suffered near fatal torture before her throat was slit. How is a 14-year-old capable of such atrocity? To murder the beautiful young woman was horrific enough, but to know that she was sexually tortured by this young man, in the most inhuman of ways before he killed her is too repulsive to fully comprehend.

But it gets worse. After brutalizing her in the most horrific, unspeakable way, he robs her dead body.

Chism robbed Ratzer of her credit cards, iPhone, and her underwear, they said. Then he wheeled her body out of the school in a recycling bin and dumped her body in the woods, where he covered her with leaves, authorities said.

Chism was spotted leaving a movie theater about 6:30 p.m. on the day Ritzer was killed, and then picked up by police as he walked along a highway in a neighboring town six hours later. Police said they believe Ritzer died sometime after the school day ended at 2 p.m., but they have not said exactly when.

He massacres the young woman, dumps her body, robs her, and then goes to a movie. Philip Chism is barely a teenager and he is committed a crime this cold without a moments regret or remorse. What does this say about America? It says everything. It says we are dead, physically and spiritually. We have lost our souls and we’ve become animals.

Collen Ritzer was a young teacher with a promising future and a family who loved her dearly. By all accounts, she was dedicated to her job and she loved her students. She cared about her students, and noticed Philip Chism needed some guidance before an upcoming exam. And he took her life.

The teen was charged as a juvenile with aggravated rape and armed robbery. He is being held at a Department of Youth Services lockup.

Ritzer’s family released a statement after the indictment was announced. “We are devastated and heartbroken by the details of the horrific circumstances surrounding the death of our beautiful daughter and sister, Colleen,” the family said.

There is no motive in this case. If there was, it wouldn’t matter. There is nothing that could justify a crime of this magnitude. Colleen Ritzer’s life was snuffed out by the very individual she was seeking to guide. Philip Chism was a cold, calculating, sexual deviant. And he isn’t even old enough to have his driver’s permit. This is American culture put under the most damning spotlight.

  12. Carlyle Moulton “… the eye witnesses who saw Travon raining MMA style blows on poor George either saw wrongly or lied. ”

And we know this HOW? I don’t see that leap in logic as any different than those who would try to exonerate Z for what he did.

  13. Zimmerman is Hispanic. Some of you will refer to him as an f ing Mexican. The right to a jury of one’s peers belongs to the defendant not some victim. I would have like to have seen a jury of Hispanic males in that case. Or perhaps a jury of old farts who live in bad neighborhoods with punks stealing their property and beating their heads in the ground without provocation.

George Z may be a wacko now. He might have been a wacko on the day of the Trayvon incident. But that experience of being charged with murder, locked up, ranted about world wide as a racist, threatened with murder by numerous punks, and subjected to daily televised scrutiny might make all of you folks wacko.

  14. Says Maddog.

Trayvon might have been a sociopath. He was a criminal. He was banging George Z’s head on the ground when George shot him.

I am sick of hearing this accusation against a man who cannot contest it because of being dead. George Zimmerman says that Travon Martin was beating him up, but why should we believe George Zimmerman. I am more than 98% certain that George Zimmerman’s story told to the Sanford police included lies wherever lies served his purpose of escaping culpability. The more we learn about George Zimmerman’s propensity for domestic violence the more we know of his propensity to lie as a result the more information we have to judge his affair with Travon Martin.

I consider it possible that George Zimmerman 1st degree or 2nd degree murdered Travon Martin. That he pursued Travon with the intention of provoking a fight and then using the fight as an excuse to shoot him dead. George claimed that Travon used the words “you are going to die tonight homeboy” but a more likely scenario is that George thought that these words represented the way underclass blacks speak and himself used these words to Travon as he showed him the gun. Travon screamed and his screams ended with the shot to the heart, the eye witnesses who saw Travon raining MMA style blows on poor George either saw wrongly or lied. Travon Martin had no training in mixed martial arts but Zimmerman did. More likely it was Zimmerman on top and the witnesses either mistook it for Martin because of the poor lighting or deliberately lied out of white solidarity.

There are certain truths that everyone knows even though they are inconsistent with the facts and these truths must be protected. It is known that white people are law abiding and non violent and that blacks are violent criminals. Of course there are whites who attack other whites but everyone accepts these exceptions to the rule of white virtue as being irrelevant, their are blacks who attack blacks and blacks who attack whites and these are consistent with the great truth, but when a white attacks a black this creates intolerable cognitive dissonance and must be denied or justified, hence the conspiracy between Zimmerman supporters, Sanford Police, Zimmerman’s defence lawyers, the jurors and Angela Corey who botched the case against Zimmerman. Of course one cannot rule incompetence out as an explanation, but I think Corey wanted to lose the case to protect the great truth. The worst “mistake” that she made was to show the jury all the videos of George Zimmerman’s interviews. This exposed the jury to George Zimmerman’s story without Zimmerman needing to take the stand and facing cross examination on his story. I am sick of seeing comments expressing the certainty that Travon Martin was bashing poor George’s head into the concrete like madog’s earlier one. I am more than 98% certain that Georges story is a tissue of lies wherever Zimmerman needed lies to exculpate him.

We overuse the words psychopath and sociopath, I do not believe that one needs to be a psychopath or sociopath to commit murder. For example KKK members who lynched niggers were not necessarily pschopaths or sociopaths just people socialized in a community most of whose members believed in the imperative of maintaining white supremacy. As far as they were concerned Niggers were not entitled to the protection of the law. I think something like this explains George Zimmerman, yes there were some Blacks with whom he was friendly, but to him they were honorary whites. Travon Martin on the other hand was an outsider Black, not entitled to either civility or protection of the law.

    1. ANOTHER BLACK “ANGEL” FALLS FROM GRACE:

Duke Lacrosse Rape Accuser Crystal Magnum Convicted Of Second-Degree Murder
By Will Hagle, Fri, November 22, 2013

For a while, the Duke University lacrosse sexual assault scandal was national news, a symbol of America’s growing rape culture that occurred all-too-frequently at unsuspecting institutes of higher learning and by heralded athletes. At the center of the case against the lacrosse players was Crystal Magnum, the woman whose accusations ultimately were found to be falsely-created. Now, several years after those accusations and the subsequent media fiasco, Magnum has been found guilty of second-degree murder.

A North Carolina jury recently handed Magnum the decision of guilty in a case involved the stabbing of her boyfriend Reginald Daye. Ten days after the stabbing, Daye died at Duke University Hospital, in April 2011.
Throughout the trial, Magnum admitted to the stabbing but plead self-defense, explaining that Daye was beating her when she grabbed a knife and “poked him in the side.”

According to Fox 8 WGHP, Defense attorney Daniel Meier repeatedly attempted to characterize his clients actions as self-defense based on the nature of the event that occurred.

“He was bigger than her. He was on top of her. He was choking her. [She gave him a] single stab wound to the flank,” Meier said.

Eventually, however, Assistant District Attorney Charlene Franks won over the jury, who was deliberating over giving Magnum first-degree murder, second-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter or not guilty.
Franks explained that the case had nothing to do with Magnum’s past involvement with the Duke lacrosse scandal, according to WRAL.
“Whatever happened as far as Duke lacrosse or anything else, it was not about that. It was not about ‘THE Crystal Magnum.’ It was about Reginald Daye and what occurred April 3, 2011,” Franks said after the case had ended.

Magnum has been sentenced to 170 to 216 months in prison for the crime.
