This story is truly an insight into our often superficial society. Jeremy Meeks, 30, is considered by police to be “one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area.” However, his mug shot has gone viral with tens of thousands of “likes” as people gush over his movie-style good looks. Many women cannot see beyond the high cheek bones and blue eyes to see those six felony charges, including gang crimes.
The Stockton Police have been inundated with admirers and the mug shot appears to have become the ultimate poster bad boy. I recall the same happening with the Menendez brothers.
Meeks’ image has been shared by thousands who are marveling at his dreamy good looks. One wrote “Momma, I’m in love with a criminal.” If so, it will be unrequited love if he is convicted. He was one of four men taken into custody during Operation Ceasefire in Stockton with four firearms. He is being held on $900,000 bail.

Karen S, I guess you have the talking points down….Benghazi.
SWM – going after female victims is a lifelong pattern.
I judge someone on the summation of their choices. Sure, people make mistakes, and you hope they would have grown from them.
But here we are, 2014, and we’re hearing “Right Wing Conspiracy” again by Hillary, who is once again covering up for herself. Only this time, 4 people died in Benghazi. She denied them repeated requests for military security, she denied them aid during an attack that lasted hours with military close by because she waited to get clearance from Libya, she lied about the attack, claiming it was caused by a demonstration against a video rather than terrorists (and there are emails that specifically say to get rid of all references to terrorism or policy failures), she refused to testify or cooperate, she did not allow survivors to be interviewed for more than a year, and now that it’s dragged on this long, she claims what difference does it make.
She has not changed at all.
Paul, I see a business opportunity here. I’ll have to be quick and create the website before someone else does. How about dreamyface.com, felon-coquetry.com, or amorous-outlaw.com?
saucy – you are going to take some off the top, I assume. 😉
Why don’t they just post, “What a waste” and move on?
I don’t know, I see his face and think, “moron!” You’ve been arrested SIX times and haven’t figured out that you’re not a very good criminal yet?
Pretty is as pretty does.
Hillary was in her twenties and barely out of law school, nick. If the republicans need to go back 40 years ago to dig something up only proves their extreme desperation. I guess they couldn’t prove she was brain damaged from her fall so this is the next desperate attempt to make her appear unworthy. Good luck peeling off women’s support from Hillary…. won’t happen.
OK, I’m ready to slap these women who send love letters to murderers in jail, like the Night Stalker.
Really, is that the limit of their requirements, good looks? Does it matter how he looks when he’s killing you? Arrrrrrgh!
Nick – I don’t blame public defenders for doing their jobs. There were 3 things that I did take issue with: 1) She did not have to take the case, but did so as a favor. So she cannot say that she had no choice. 2) She attacked the child victim’s credibility, just as she did with Flowers, Lewinsky, and others, KNOWING the whole time she was telling the true. I don’t call that “doing her job.” 3) she laughed when she called it a “miscarriage of justice,” and laughed when she talked about the forensic lab throwing away the scrap of bloody fabric – fabric from his underwear that had the blood of the rape of a 12 year old on it. She kept laughing gleefully about finding this loophole, and getting this guy off.
When I first heard about it, I thought, well, she must have started her career as a public defender. But as soon as I heard the tape, I was mad.
Karen – in the greater scope of relationships, we are physically attracted to people first and then hopefully, before that begins to wear off, we become emotionally attracted to them. This people are in the first stage.
The Daily Beast did an interview of the rape victim in the case Hillary laughed about. It’s a headline piece by Josh Rogin today. I had said the other day this was a tempest in a teapot. That defense attorneys are given clients they must represent to the best of their ability. However, it appears from this piece that Hilary engaged in the type of behavior used by male defense attorneys back in the 70’s. That being putting the victim on trial. For me it is consistent w/ what attorneys who dealt w/ Hillary as an attorney had to say about her working civil cases. She can’t be trusted, she is not honorable. The victim is now in her 50’s w/ a criminal drug record. The victim was brutally beaten into a coma @ age 12 by Hillary’s client. Looks like Hillary might have one of her own “Bimbo eruptions” as the sexist Bill Clinton campaign used to call them. If this story has legs Hillary will hire PI’s and victimize the victim again. Bet on it.
Paul wrote “some kind of lottery?”
Crowd-sharing.
saucy – maybe if everyone who chipped in got x tickets in the lottery for every x dollars they donated and then they drew all the tickets and set some sort of schedule for being with him.
Convicted sex offender, serial killer and cannibal, Jeffrey Dahmer had blond hair and blue eyes. Looks can be deceiving. What’s for lunch?
Hold on Annie, don’t cash in that 401K plan yet.
You may see dreamy, but I would say stone cold killer is probably more like it.
If his bond is 900k the bondsman usually will take 90k. All his female admirers could crowdsource the funds and then they could share him (some kind of lottery?) until he is finally incarcerated.
What is happening to people? These women are unbelievably misguided! I wonderful what they’d think if they met him in an alley with a weapon in his hand?
JT wrote “I recall the same happening with the Menendez brothers.”
The best example is the living Boston Marathon bomber who was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. Girls like bad boys, doncha know?
Justice Holmes wrote “I cannot beleive Charlie Rise sits through this stuff!”
Given the waste Rose spews forth on 60 Minutes (remember his obsequious interview with Jeff Bezos?), why would he complain?
Should we describe the CBS News piece as a “bust”?
If the vacuous Elle Magazine would have interviewed him, they might have described his appeal as one that “takes no prisoners.”
Maybe it’s my age (these old eyes) but I think he is creepy.
Hardly good looks at all. He looks more like Lips Manlis.
“Must be Satan.”
His gaze is arresting.
He’s going to be very popular in prison…
Rape is a very serious crime no matter when ir where it happens yet This morning on CBS when commenting on the so called “smoking hot mugshot” of this male defendant Gayle King opined that if convicted “he will be very popular” in prison and then broadly smiled and giggled. Disgusting. I cannot beleive Charlie Rise sits through this stuff!
Wow, $900,000, it would take a lot of love to bail him and his dreamy blue eyes out of jail.
