The cult leader must be protected, and nothing is sacred but the leader himself.
No offense Nick, but that is exactly how I feel you watching fawn over Prof Turley.
    Uber lap dog like 🙂

  2. No worries, Mespo, friendly fire is an almost unavoidable consequence of war.

Pete, how much are you willing to bet (lose) on this? You know how tough a god has to be in order to rule the underseas?
I know the realms of seas and space don’t really mix so we can’t have Thor and Poseidon duke it out…the only way we can find out is you bring your Church of Thor, I’ll bring my Poseidon Congregation and whoever is left standing…

  3. Uber….the word from German with the dots (umlaut) over the U is a word that means something like over and beyond. In the context of an Uber Presidency it has the context of an elite, super (uber), exessive, all powerful Presidency, as compared to the President being one part of a three part whole.

    Uber Lord. Over Lord.

This should be a frightening concept to anyone who desires freedom or who does not wish to be ruled by a King or Over Lord.

  4. I think we should have an annual JT Convention at Glen Ivy in SoCal.

We could have a pie fight ( literally). Then bath in muds as we sling it. Clean up befire sun down (as Glen Ivy is only a day spa). Then go to dinner at a rented out place with a closed fir private party sign posted.

Then we can all get dirty again (tribute to Animal House)

Fighting over which “Party” the sign was referring to!

  5. DBQ, I have read and heard JT use the word “Uber” so much I wonder if he’s not getting some promotion bucks. We use Uber and now Lyft. They are one of the wonders the internet has added to our freedom. We are no longer bound to taxis and the corrupt politicians who give them a monopoly. Both Uber and Lyft are under attack by the Dem machines that control US cities, but the genie is out of the bottle. We have learned to not be dependent on just one, get both Uber and Lyft. Actually, Lyft has been giving $50 credits to sign up. I chat w/ the drivers. Many drive for both companies. Now, these are aggressive capitalistic companies, but there’s competition, which keeps them in check. The most nastiness is in recruiting drivers.

  6. I didn’t see the testimony, but I did read Professor Turley’s written testimony. I don’t see anything partisan in it. I do see a well written article that deals with the gradual erosion between the separation of powers between the three branches of the government and where Prof Turley is expressing his grave concern about the future of the Constituion and our system of government should it be allowed to continue.

He expressed, IMO, the same reservations about previous administrations, but did also point out that this administration (Obama’s) has exacerbated the trend. The DOJ and the Attorney General’s office are crucial to maintaining the balance and when you get the over reach and out and out ignoring of the law by not only the President(s) but also by their staff we are in great danger of losing our system of government.

The balance of power between the Judicial, the Legislative, and the Executive was a brilliant concept by the Founders to try to keep government (which is the biggest danger to our freedoms) from getting out of control.

An Uber Presidency of any political stripe should be a concern for everyone. Not just Conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, Liberals. Everyone.

Again, I don’t see anything partisan on Prof Turley’s position or in his written testimony. It seems to be a well balanced writing by someone deeply concerned with the letter of the law and with maintaining our Constitutional principles.

  7. The southern gentlemen of the world are paternalistic and think women are special flowers. I taught my daughter to be tough. Much tougher than the whiners and floppers here. And, I have a 37 year successful and happy marriage. Now, I don’t suffers fool well, be they man or woman. To that I plead guilty. And, I think women should be treated like men, not like the faux feminists here who have men to protect them from criticism but call themselves feminists.

  8. JT points out wonderfully, as always, that we are, as many have been saying in recent years, in a Constitutional Crisis. I would submit that all branches are to blame. I look at some of the lack of sound rationale in many judicial decisions and just shake my head in disbelief. The right to petition for Redress of Grievance case in 2008 is possible the worse. That’s right, you have to right to petition, but don’t expect an answer to your questions. http://www.givemeliberty.org/RTPLawsuit/InfoCenter.htm

I personally did a FOIA requests for the definition of income and the specific Federal Statute and when it was passed that made a Citizen of the 50 States liable for a federal Individual income tax, if they are not in a privialged occupation or involved in specific taxable products. The refused to answer my questions as well.

If Lynch is pro-death penalty advocate, as stated in an above comment, she does not therefore see the faults/fallibility within the justice system and is willing to sacrifice the lives of innocent people who are often framed for the so called good of the majority. If she is also anti-marijuana legalization she does not believe that the majority are competent in determining what or what not to put into their own bodies. She does not historically know that the prohibition was created to benefit special interest groups to the determent of society. Both arrogance and ignorance are a sad part of the failings of mankind. Many think that they actually can know and can determine what is in the best interest of the majority. Within the nation state we call them politicians and Judges and when they are in collusion there is no greater enemy to mankind.

I have come to the conclusion after many many years of research, that an institution whose economic foundation relieves on the use of force to extract/take/steal money and property from its Citizens will always and eventually bankrupt the majority as it has fundamentally done in this country. In just 100 years we have gone from the wealthiest per capita nation in the world to the largest debtor nation in the world.

Trying to limit the power of government has failed here in the US, despite one of the best Constitutions ever enacted. I see no remedy if the nation state is a part of the equation. If you think about it, it is those within positions of power within the nation state who continuously usurp indiviudal rights when it is their sworn duty to protect them.

Hey, Skip. Long time since I have seen you post around here. It’s nice to see you post.

Based on this comment, though, I hope you are not getting involved with the tax evasion movement that has put many people in jail, including Wesley Snipes.

      1. Hey David, very busy. Sorta miss the sometime intellectual jousting. I’ve been in the tax honesty movement for many many years. I was surprised, as I have been researching my book, just how many people have won cases against the IRS. http://betweentheheadlines.net/2014/05/25/from-my-upcoming-book-the-tax-slayer-a-case-of-fraud-and-treason/ – Paraphrasing: For evil to prevail, it only takes good men to do nothing. Whether, I’m right is another question. I need someone of a legal education to edit my book for contextual accuracy. I do not need an endorsement, only to make sure my evidence and conclusions are legally accurate. If so, it is a game changer. In essence, the filing of legally insufficient Notice of Federal Tax Liens, legally voids their validity and thus their enforceability. – If anyone has the testicular fortitude to take on such a challenge, please contact me in a discrete manner. I’m am in many places on the web.

  9. Mespo, you’re right about Italians, most Italian men I’ve met have been nothing like him.

  10. “A million dollar payday coming.” I know attorneys better than they know themselves.

  11. nick:

Envy? Not sure who you are referring to about envy. All the folks who comment around here are quite accomplished and none have expressed any desire to be anything but what they are — at least that I’ve read. If criticizing someone’s point of view proves that one is envious of the holder of that point of view, I’d better watch out since you must really want to be a plaintiff’s lawyer in Virginia. You might have missed that obvious conclusion but that’s probably wrong since you are … after all … perfect. In your own estimation, that is.

  12. Anyone who knows me will tell you I am calm, cool and collected. The perfect demeanor for a PI. Don’t project your obvious agita on me.

  13. I made my living because we are all infected w/ the 7 Deadly Sins. I see envy has reared its head here and exposed itself. When you push the right buttons, you get the truth.

  14. As a Progressive kicked off from DailyKos by pretenders, I get where your coming from.

As one who has openly taken swipes at the Professor and is still standing here, I try to get where he is coming from.

As one who, like you, is not anon in moniker (regretting that much..Often) – I admire, you, Paul and others (who I disagree and can agree with much).. for being bold into the fray.

POV makes the point, for m previous ‘ ment. That the vanity of what one wishes, quashes what is needed.

No one, not even the Professor, nor you, will admit that our country elects the best puppet; who.is usually the best bs-er.

I know much.mire about Barack than I care to and anyone here will desire to even dare to ponder.

Given the truth, of the mess he was provided, he’s done a good job; but is still lacking.

    This choice fir USAG has great potential;
But I’m not too thrilled of chance for excellence.

Be that all as it may, Bush is a blight upon U.S. (as was and will be for all his kin).

Then, again, it is a good thing I despise everything the Bush,s represent and have done; because …otherwise… i’d say something nice about him

Just so you coukd take your unfriend threat

    and shovel it
