Maryland Legislator Charged With Bizarre Conduct Outside Ex-Husband’s House

1198-1-06950bA Maryland state lawmaker was recently charged with trespassing and indecent exposure for allegedly baring her breast during a dispute with her ex-husband at his home. Delegate Ariana B. Kelly, a Montgomery County Democrat, was charged with trespass and indecent exposure in a confrontation with Barak Sanford after dropping off their two children.

Kelly, 38, divorced Sanford in November and came to his house to drop off the children. When she arrived, she reportedly found Sanford’s fiance in the home. Sanford told police that he asked Kelly to leave after she started ringing the doorbell and banging on the door. He also purportedly gave them a cellphone video of Kelly repeatedly ringing the doorbell, exposing her breasts and “with one breast in each hand [shaking] them up and down.”

The charges are misdemeanors and a trial date of Aug. 13 has been set. The misdemeanors could lead to a review of her status in the legislature. These are relatively minor charges, though the underlying alleged conduct is quite bizarre. A misdemeanor offense can still result in incarceration, though for a first offender such a sentence is relatively rare.

Here is her background from the state legislative site:

  1. Annie,
Your probably right, it’s because she’s a Democrat–your finally admitting it. Ha Ha. I’m only kidding.

What I really think is that many of our legislatures do not take they job seriously and they care less and less about representing their constituents–and that goes for both sides of the aisle.

Some women don’t use their breasts for the purpose intended, which is to feed their babies, they use their breasts as tools of sexual attraction, or in this case as tools of anger.

  2. Chinggis say: if wind start to blow and Kelly then put on shirt to cover breasts because wind too cold, police should arrest her for avoiding the draft.

  3. Wait a minute. You want bizarre conduct? Take a look at the Extreme Court (ECOTUS).

“State means federal and federal means state and the difference is there is no difference and we need to demonstrate they are they same to show the difference in the two words, which are actually one.”

The “tipping point” has been passed.

    To wit,

    Wikipedia:

“…After the tipping point has been passed, a transition to a new state occurs. The tipping event may be irreversible, comparable to wine spilling from the glass: standing up the glass will not put the wine back.”

    That is ominous.

  4. If I were the fiance I´d get out of Dodge ASAP. You don´t want a lifetime of this, and from what I hear from friends who marry divorced men with children, she will be the 3rd wheel in the marriage forever. Maybe wife number 2 will end up a nutter too, after being married to that man. I mean, you never know what caused the craziness of wife number 1, do you? I know 4 women who have married divorced men with kids and all 4 have confided to me that although they love their husbands, it was a huge mistake and they wouldn´t marry them again because of never-ending problems with ex-wives and kids.

  5. DBQ – and you’re right, as well. It’s unlikely that such unstable behavior suddenly started. The public has had a window on to what their private life was like. We’re all thinking the husband had a lucky escape from the relationship. And the kids are another example of having lost the Parent Lottery.

Hopefully this will be her rock bottom and she’ll seek therapy. I feel sorry for people who are their own enemies throughout life.

  6. And as I’ve stated before, I’ve long felt that laws that lump urinating in public as a sex offense need to be amended.

  7. Poor thing sounds like she was in the throes of jealousy, rage, and low self esteem. It was very bad judgement to lose control like that, especially since she’d dropped her children off.

Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned. He’d moved on and found someone, and she must not have. Like a lot of people do, her reaction was self destructive. She’s now worse off, having damaged her reputation and career and likely caused her children hurt, as well.

And, yes, she should be charged with the same indecent exposure laws as if she’d been a man.
