Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We are in Durham, North Carolina with my in-laws to celebrate my favorite holiday. We will begin the day as the Turleys have for over 40 years with our Turkey bowl football game, though this will be a smaller affair since we will not be in McLean this year. We will then get to watch the Chicago Bears play the Packers! What else could one wish for? Turkey, family, football. The pilgrims never had it so good.
We will have our traditional Thanksgiving meal and I will be making the Waldorf salad (I get to focus on eating since my father-in-law will be doing the Turkey). As a pumpkin pie addict, I usually make a scandal of myself by the end of the day. This year, Leslie and I bought a special Bourbon (Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon) that we tasted in New Orleans to make Old Fashions. Leslie made the Old Fashions last night and they were awesome.
I truly love this holiday and, after sufficiently stuffing myself, I will roll on to the couch to walk the Monsters of the Midway play that other team in the continuation of the oldest rivalry in football. (I brought my away jersey to wear for the game). Bear Down Bears . . . and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (even Cheeseheads).
Thanks, Frank. My mom’s twin brother lives in West Rutland, VT. That is a former white marble quarry town. The school where my aunt taught is made out of white marble. The bigger town of Rutland has a Norman Rockwell museum. A good stop for fans of Rockwell.

Happy Thanksgiving! I love this holiday. Spending time with friends and family, and my kitchen smells divine.
If you’re in Durham, the only games that really matter are the basketball games still to com :). Happy thanksgiving to all!

Happy Thanksgiving indeed. I hope everyone is able to absorb and feedback the wonderful energy that is family all around you. Like a guitar played up against the amplifier.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone from a lifelong Vikings fan. Go Bears!
This is the best holiday IMHO. I’m thankful for this blog and the joy it brings on a daily basis.
Both Favre and the Packers handled his departure poorly. They will put it behind them tonight. The great Bart Starr has battled health problems, including going to Mexico for stem cell treatments so he can be there. I am a clinical observer/fan. I am worried about the Bears tonight. I think “Good Jay” may make an appearance in Green Bay tonight and ruin the celebration. There has also been glimpses of a “Bad Aaron” something new to us Packer fans. I’ll need an espresso or two to stay awake for the game.
If you’re in NC, the only game of concern is the Panthers game at Dallas.
You can watch football by yourself. What’s the point of being with people if you aren’t exchanging ideas with them?
I am sure you will have a great time

You too, + I hate the Packers!
Welcome to beautiful North Carolina and enjoy your stay here.
I wonder what network on TV will have the Bears game. My half blind guy can listen well and might employ the radio but I want the TV. This is also known as Armour Hot Dog Day here at the marina where the dogpac is treated to grilled hotdogs and the humans sing us the Armour Hot Dog Song. The lyrics are amended so as to give homage to real dogs. But real dogs like hotdogs. And two dogs are in heat so things might get hot. If ya know what I mean jelly bean.
Happy Thanksgiving. Eat, drink, and don’t be wary.
Happy Thanksgiving and remember you cannot talk about Ditka. He is dead to you!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving and Go Bears!
