Wasserman Schultz Booed Off Stage By Florida Delegation . . . But Given Job By Clinton Campaign

Wasserman SchultzHillary_Clinton_Testimony_to_House_Select_Committee_on_BenghaziFormer Democratic Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was booed of the stage by the Florida delegates today as anger continued to rise over emails showing that the DNC actively undermined Bernie Sanders and sought to rig the primaries for Hillary Clinton.  Yet, in coming DNC interim chair (and Clinton supporter) Donna Brazile is calling for Wasserman Schultz to have a role at the convention as a reward for her past work.  In an equally tone deaf response, Clinton has given Wasserman Schultz a formal job with her campaign — as opposed to the informal job that her critics have long alleged.  The fact is that Wasserman Schultz has from the start been the most controversial DNC chair in the party’s history — well before the entrance of Bernie Sanders.  Her tenure has been divisive and destructive for the party.  The effort to reward her by party insiders like Brazile and bring her into the Clinton campaign only reaffirms the disconnect with voters.

Wasserman Schultz discussed her new role for the Clinton campaign as delegated booed her and chanted “shame” over the now confirmed secret campaign for Clinton at the DNC.  She will be the honorary chair of her campaign’s 50-state program.  Clinton heralded the past work and future role of Wasserman Schultz:

“I want to thank my longtime friend Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her leadership of the Democratic National Committee over the past five years.  I am grateful to Debbie for getting the Democratic Party to this year’s historic convention in Philadelphia, and I know that this week’s events will be a success thanks to her hard work and leadership. . . . There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie–which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states.

“I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid–because as President, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people.”

I would think that this is stating the obvious but the Clinton people might have wanted to wait a bit before giving Wasserman Schultz a position with the campaign when delegates are protesting that she was working for the campaign all along.  One look at the Florida delegation (which is Wasserman Schultz’s most supportive group) confirms that obvious point:

  1. issac,

You are presenting two pieces of misinformation; 1. that the Democratic party is “left”. It is far to the right and has nothing to do with being an actual leftist party and 2. that people only have two choices, Democrats and Republicans.

Neither is true and we should not try to limit reality to suit the powerful.

  2. Issac, give your explanations to the Libyans who have to live in the hell everyday that Clinton created for them.

  3. And predictably, here comes another “The Republicans aren’t perfect—uh, sooo anything us Democrats do is just peachy!” As I have written before, and I keep it available for copying and pasting:

Trying to explain “principles”, or “right vs. wrong”, or “rules”,
or “logical consistency” to a Democrat, is like trying to explain to a bad,
cheating, folding metal chair-using, pants-pulling-down, wrestler why he didn’t
win the WWF Belt fairly. He is not able to comprehend what you are going on about.

All he knows is, that he won the match and belt, and if his girl friend jumped into
the ring and whacked the good wrestler over the head with a metal chair while the
referee wasn’t looking- – -well, what difference does that make???
After all, he won! He has the championship belt! Isn’t that all that matters???

I should probably add – – – that the cheating wrestler cried, “Hey look! A squirrel!” and when the referee looked, that is when his girl friend ambushed the good wrestler with the metal chair to the back of the head.”

  4. smm,

    You’re back. Here’s my question;

What is your stance on the following:

    1. voter disenfranchisement 2. financial fraud 3. collusion with the press and powerful Democrats 4. FEC violations 5. calling Hispanics “brands”, “tacos” and “taco bowls”? and now since you mentioned homophobia, 6. finding “a gay” to make your campaign party look more diverse (yes, right out of a DNC e-mail!)

This question is clearly connected to events revealed by the DNC e-mails. These are important issues that anyone who counts herself a liberal should be concerned about. I think it speaks volumes that you cannot answer this question.

  5. @PaulCS

LOL! Plus, those Mexicans are sooo racissst! and xenophobic! Look at what else that article above said:

“According to El Mañana, illegal aliens left in the city are unable to find a place to stay since most shelters can only provide them with three days of food and bedding.

“Many of these migrants when they are unable to find an honest way of life turn to robberies, kidnappings, extortion, and in the worst cases join the ranks of organized crime,” El Mañana’s piece revealed.”

Oh, I am sooo ashamed of those tacos, I mean Hispanics! (Sorry, the DNC email is stuck in my mind!) Anyway, I am sooo ashamed of those Mexicans saying that those “undocumented workers” from Central America commit crimes! And that they can’t afford them! Why, that is just plain anti-Hispanic isn’t it??? Before you know it, the Mexicans will be calling for a Kate Steinle’s Law! My goodness, what is this world coming to???

  6. Ya steps back and leaves the carcass for a moment, jackals all. Then you review the dangerous sideshow that is Trump, he who attracts all those with mindless anger-been there, done that, knows it works.

Then ya imagines what the country might be like with the most dysfunctional and disconnected Republican party in history, lead and at odds with the ultimate fist pounding carnival barker to come along since Wallace. This is the Republican party that openly stated it would rather see the country go down the drain rather than compromise with Obama and the Democrats. This is the Republican party that caused the government to shut down costing us tax payers hundreds of millions. This is the Republican party that illustrates the height of hypocrisy on a regular basis. Add a dash of say anything, never said anything, will do what he wants, doesn’t have clue what he wants, etc. Trump.

Now take a moment and really review the crimes committed by the Democrats, Clinton, and whomever. Compare and contrast and then, if you are like that person mentioned on this blog who smashed into a house while praying with her eyes closed, vote for Trump. Oh yeah, don’t forget to step on the gas, but keep your eyes closed.

You can say all you want about Clinton and Schultz but it’s politics and politics has always been like that. The difference between the right side of the sewer and the left side of the sewer is that on a scale of one to ten the left side of the sewer may be a six or as high as you want up until a ten, but the right side of the sewer passed ten a long time ago and is chartering new territory. Nah, go on, you won’t hit the house, but remember to keep your eyes closed and step on the gas.

  7. This blog wins the prize for the most extreme homophobic writings that I have read, ever. The archives are full of them unless they have been scrubbed.

    1. swm – if you think this is the most homophobic blog you have got to get out more.

  8. @SWM

To you, anything that disputes the Democratic Party BeeEss Victimology Narrative is racissst! There’s a 75%ish illegitimate birth rate over in the ‘hood, and you guys still want to blame White Privilege and Post Traumatic Slavery Disorder for vague, undefined “disparities!” And frankly, to you and your ilk, I wouldn’t have to say anything at all to be called racissst!—the mere fact that I am not a Democrat anymore would suffice.

The word “racist” is just a canard you throw out to excuse your own lack of intellectual initiative, substantive argument, and lack of moral integrity.

  9. SMM,

    Here is my question:

What is your stance on the following:

    1. voter disenfranchisement 2. financial fraud 3. collusion with the press and powerful Democrats 4. FEC violations 5. calling Hispanics “brands”, “tacos” and “taco bowls”?

This question is clearly connected to events revealed by the DNC e-mails. These are important issues that anyone who counts herself a liberal should be concerned about. I think it speaks volumes that you cannot answer this question.

  10. Probably the most racist rhetoric i have read in the past few years has been on the Turley blog and has been written by Squeeky. Many quit reading this blog because of it. I know someone has been deleting it recently and trying to clean the blog up but I am sure the archives are chock full of it. 🙂 Carry on.

  11. Oh, and speaking of those “tacos” and “taco bowls” as the DNC calls them, guess what I just read on Drudge? A big Mexican paper is calling for a border wall between Mexico and Central America!

The editorial board of El Mañana, one of the largest newspapers in the border state of Tamaulipas, penned a piece called “Yes to the Border Wall … but in Mexico’s South.” The piece praises the idea of border wall, not on the border with Mexico, but on the border with Central America.

“Along the Mexican border peace and quiet came to an end, Central Americans played a large influence,” El Mañana’s piece claimed.

The Mexican border newspaper provides a controversial view on the Border Wall; which is one of the main topics in Trump’s campaign.

“Mexico’s southeast has two borders; one with Guatemala and one with Belize, that do not provide any benefit, but on the contrary only problems are brought by these crossing points that are being used for the new invasion. The one use by Central American’s looking for a way into the United States. ” El Mañana’s editorial board wrote.

One of the issues mentioned in the editorial piece points not only to the hordes of Guatemalans, Salvadorans and Hondurans that flock to Reynosa in an effort to get to the U.S., but also to the large number of Central Americans that are left in Mexico after deportation.

Hmmm. Maybe this is why some people refuse to read far right websites like Breitbart??? Those inconvenient truths!

    Squeeky Fromm
    Girl Reporter

    1. Squeeky – they probably want Trump to build that wall for them.

  12. @Jill

Some people only hang around liberal websites, where such things as “tacos” smears about Hispanics are never discussed. Therefore, these persons have never developed any mindset which permits them to view actions as good or bad independently of their political effect. It is highly unlikely that you will ever get a cogent response. If you get a response at all, it will most likely fall into this form—“this is nothing compared to what (fill in the blank, a Republican) said!”

  13. Did not plan on being on blogs today but was waiting for a repairman. He is gone and I am gone. Go harrass someone else.

  14. SMM,

Your reply has nothing to do with what I asked so I’ll just ask it again:

What is your stance on the following:

    1. voter disenfranchisement 2. financial fraud 3. collusion with the press and powerful Democrats 4. FEC violations 5. calling Hispanics “brands”, “tacos” and “taco bowls”?

Why are you unable to give a straightforward answer to this question?

  15. Sorry, Jill but you are completely wrong. I live in a state went heavily for Bernie. We all had to stand in line. So how did I I disenfranchise voters? Posters here just make stuff up to suit their narratives.

  16. SMM,

Sure that’s awful. But excusing the Clinton campaign over what they said about Hispanic voters? Really? You’re down with what your side said?

What is your stance on the following:

    1. voter disenfranchisement 2. financial fraud 3. collusion with the press and powerful Democrats 4. FEC violations 5. calling Hispanics “brands”, “tacos” and “taco bowls”?

  17. @Autumn

I would like to beleive that people are seeing through Hilly but every time I see these people “belly bumping” her on stage I wonder just what is going on in thier mind.

    Hope your right?
