On this fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks millions in the United States and the world reflect back on those terrible events, where we were, and how it affected each of us in our own unique ways–but sharing of course a familiar story. My own family certainly was not an exception.
If our experience can be summed into one word, I cannot find one more telling of how we avoided tragedy:

For me news of the events came forth in a telephone call from my mother asking me to turn on the television. She told me that one of the twin towers was hit by an aircraft and it was certainly a terrorist attack. I turned on the set and within five or so minutes of watching the live recording I saw one of the towers fall. I’ve seen horrific events in my life but this sight was one of the most unsettling I experienced–thinking in my mind that I probably witnessed the murder of perhaps a thousand people at that moment.
We all are familiar with the particulars of the events affecting each of us in some way. I to this day will turn the channel if the towers’ collapse is shown.
As the events went by we later learned of the Pentagon attack. I thought of my Brother-in-Law who works there. My wife tried over the hours to contact him and her family to find out if he was still with us and uninjured. But so was everyone else as the phone lines were relentlessly unavailable.
Greatly fortunate to us about twelve hours later he finally was able to call us.
For my brother-in-law he completed his work in a particular node of the Pentagon and walked to another assignment elsewhere. The section he originally worked at was struck by the hijacked aircraft, minutes after he left that area. He reflected how he heard a thunderous noise, blackness, dust and chaos. People shouting and trying to recover. He understandably did not share too many details, but I admire him for enduring such events and continuing on rather undaunted. Part of the reason we waited so long to hear from him was that since the Metro was closed down, he needed to walk several miles home.
Luck and a few minutes saved my brother-in-law.
Simultaneously that day, the husband of my wife’s cousin shared a 9/11 fate.
He is an executive with a re-insurance company, headquartered at the top of Tower Two at the World Trade Center. His eldest son worked as an intern that summer at their office and returned to college that fall. While he would be normally working in the office that day, he instead travelled out of town on company business and missed the attack. In another fortune, a senior executive for the company was late for work on 9/11 and arrived late. His chauffer let him off in front of the tower and awaited him to enter. The executive grabbed the door handle and felt the violent shaking of the building. He returned to his chauffer who drove him out of harm’s way. All of the other employees in the office that day perished.
On our home front, the resulting economic turmoil over the later months required my wife to change professions.
A few weeks after the attacks, as previously scheduled, we travelled to the D.C. area to visit our family. My wife’s parents are interred at Arlington Cemetery, overlooking the Pentagon. We visited their gravesite from which we could see the blackened destruction of the section of the Pentagon of which her brother worked. Some photos from that day:

There were many concurrent funerals and memorial services of 9/11 victims throughout the cemetery. For one of the fallen, we were told a colonel in the USAF (Robert Hymel I would later Learn), a B-52 flew overhead to commemorate his passing. Those Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and all others are a credit to those who serve us, having made such a painful sacrifice.
Let us never forget.

#1 Thousands of people saw two plans crash into the Twin Towers. I was watching live media coverage of a “plane accident” and saw the second plane crash myself. Regardless, there was a vast pool of eyewitnesses to the fact.
#2 It was not a controlled demolition. President Bush did not kill over 2,000 people so that his poll numbers would increase, or in a mad desire for more war. Some people believe that the buildings must have fallen to a controlled demolition because they fell straight down. Or they believe the delay between the crash and the collapse prove conspiracy. This engineering analysis explains why buildings fall down rather than over.

“A basic engineering assessment of the design of the World Trade Center dispels many of the myths about its collapse. First, the perimeter tube design of the towers protected them from failing upon impact. The outer columns were engineered to stiffen the towers in heavy wind, and they protected the inner core, which held the gravity load. Removal of some of the outer columns alone could not bring the building down. Furthermore, because of the stiffness of the perimeter design, it was impossible for the aircraft impact to topple the building.
However, the building was not able to withstand the intense heat of the jet fuel fire. While it was impossible for the fuel-rich, diffuse-flame fire to burn at a temperature high enough to melt the steel, its quick ignition and intense heat caused the steel to lose at least half its strength and to deform, causing buckling or crippling. This weakening and deformation caused a few floors to fall, while the weight of the stories above them crushed the floors below, initiating a domino collapse.
It would be impractical to design buildings to withstand the fuel load induced by a burning commercial airliner. Instead of saving the building, engineers and officials should focus on saving the lives of those inside by designing better safety and evacuation systems.”
“The perimeter tube design of the WTC was highly redundant. It survived the loss of several exterior columns due to aircraft impact, but the ensuing fire led to other steel failures. Many structural engineers believe that the weak points—the limiting factors on design allowables—were the angle clips that held the floor joists between the columns on the perimeter wall and the core structure (see Figure 5). With a 700 Pa floor design allowable, each floor should have been able to support approximately 1,300 t beyond its own weight. The total weight of each tower was about 500,000 t.
As the joists on one or two of the most heavily burned floors gave way and the outer box columns began to bow outward, the floors above them also fell. The floor below (with its 1,300 t design capacity) could not support the roughly 45,000 t of ten floors (or more) above crashing down on these angle clips. This started the domino effect that caused the buildings to collapse within ten seconds, hitting bottom with an estimated speed of 200 km per hour. If it had been free fall, with no restraint, the collapse would have only taken eight seconds and would have impacted at 300 km/h.1 It has been suggested that it was fortunate that the WTC did not tip over onto other buildings surrounding the area. There are several points that should be made. First, the building is not solid; it is 95 percent air and, hence, can implode onto itself. Second, there is no lateral load, even the impact of a speeding aircraft, which is sufficient to move the center of gravity one hundred feet to the side such that it is not within the base footprint of the structure. Third, given the near free-fall collapse, there was insufficient time for portions to attain significant lateral velocity. To summarize all of these points, a 500,000 t structure has too much inertia to fall in any direction other than nearly straight down.”

For me, 9/11 changed my life by making me want to do something to help. I knew the military was not an option, so I joined the fire dept. which I am know an officer in. The positives are that I’ve met a large number of truly great people and I am able to help my community.

But, I have to go with Jim on this particular 9-11 Conspiracy Theory as a really dumb one. I am all for conspiracy theories, and contrarian views. Because we are under a constant barrage of propaganda from all sides and all sources. And it is essential that we question everything, as a matter of intellectual survival.
But, that being said, one can also go too far in their questioning and just start promoting pure idiocy. For example, I think “science” is being mis-used by some scientists and their cronies to promote AGW. But that doesn’t mean the scientists are lying about the Moon Landings.
You always need a little dose of common sense.

Conspiracy theorists never feel compelled to have to prove their statements. It is not up to us to prove them wrong, it is up to prove that they are right. Also, they shouldn’t be called conspiracy theorists but instead conspiracy hypothesists since a theory and a hypothesis are not the same. I can keep suggesting hypothesis after hypothesis without ever having to prove anything to waste peoples time. As for 9/11 truthers, they are just jerks. Yes, that’s really how I feel.

No one saw a plane crash into the Twin Towers, because it never happened. Millions of people DID see a VIDEO on TV that was said to have been a plane crash. No live footage showed any such thing. The most plausible explanation for what was shown is that CGI planes were used — but the video was only shown once because it was faked. The video shows a CGI plane appearing to melt into the building. An impossibility…except in movies.
The area immediately beneath the buildings had been evacuated. The TV footage of people running is similar to the images of people supposedly running away from the White truck in Nice this past July — another obvious state-sponsored false flag operation. Recall that White truck didn’t have a single speck of blood on it – despite supposedly having just mowed down dozens of people.
I hope that you will decide to become more informed about these staged events.

Most people with pneumonia are treated as outpatients on PO antibiotics and don’t need to be hospitalized. One would have to be far sicker than HRC to be admitted to a hospital.
Ssshhhh – Hillary has been having coughing fits for months now. She has had trouble with balance and has had to be supported going up stairs. According to today’s report, she fainted. If I were a doctor, I would be remiss not to keep her overnight to check on her.
What should worry us today is that our government representatives, assisted by many Press organizations, have denied American citizens the fundamental right to DEBATE the facts.
We now have “secret” laws – which defeats the entire premise of having a law & order system. The concept of how laws work is that the government advertises or post the laws publicly so that citizens can try to comply with the laws It’s akin to being ticketed for speeding while driving 65MPH when the posted speed is 70MPH. Today we have self appointed bureaucrats in our national security agencies penalizing Americans for perfectly legal activities (ex: legal First Amendment exercises like joining Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street or the Tea Party).
Excessive secrecy also allows abuse and criminality by some (not all) government officials knowing the files won’t be unsealed for likely 50 years. Neither them nor their families (inheritance) risk anything for breaking the law or violating the U.S. Constitution.
For example: In the Spring of 2003, U.S. foreign policy essentially created ISIS sponsored terrorism worldwide. This was the testimony of former Bush officials in the documentary “No End In Sight”. Everyone is entitled to honest mistakes but how do we solve the problem without debating the facts?
How can we self-govern or solve any problem if not given all the facts and given a healthy long debate considering the maximum amount of vantage points?

I respect Darren as a writer and enjoy his posts. When the comments go wonky, as per usual on a blog, he takes the high ground, when I couldn’t find The High Ground with sat nav and a backup Thomas Guide.
This is such a traumatic day for our psyche. What affected me the most deeply, even to this day, was the people jumping to their death. At first, we thought perhaps helicopters were going to rescue those on the upper floors. But it never happened. Then we saw people leaning far out, smoke pouring out behind them, unbreathable. They jumped. I recall a couple holding hands on the way down, probably friends offering each other support to the very end. It appeared some were trying to aim for the pavilions below in a vain attempt to break their fall. The alternative was to burn to death or smother in the smoke. Those were people who wanted to live, whom no one could save. They didn’t want to jump to their deaths. The only choice left to them was how to die. I will never, to the end of my days, forget the sound of them smashing into the ground. I had no idea a person could make that sound.
And for some reason I was crying with fury that the media invariably described them as “bodies falling.” No. They were not dead bodies. They were live, screaming people in shock, in the most inexplicably horrifying position. Calling them “bodies” belittled what happened to them. What those terrorists did to them. The least we could do is be heartbroken for them, to care about what happened in their final moments.
And it was also moving to see all the helpers. People covered with dust and rubble helping survivors get to safety. It was shocking to see the Pentagon, a symbol of our military might, scorched and smashed on one side. My father used to work there. Did the Purple Fountain survive?
Now terrorist attacks are commonplace here in the US. We’ve even had beheadings. If this trend continues, how long before we have another 9/11 scale catastrophe? Most people polled feel less safe now than ever before. We have open borders where cartels can smuggle drugs, weapons, and trafficked women over. How hard would it be to stroll over a dirty bomb, chemical or biological agent? We just gave the terrorist regime Iran over a billion dollars, and our military has remarked they are becoming more aggressive. All that needs to happen is for one of their scientists to make an alliance with ISIS, or similar homicidal maniac, hand over some material, and walk across our border.

A false flag option does not mean an event was completely staged. It could mean that, but it does not have to.
A false flag means that the government was either involved in some way with a terrible event to further an agenda or used a terrible event to further an agenda.
Was the Reichstag fire a false flag? Yes. Did it really burn? Yes.

Worldviews matter. This singular event and the various responses to it are a reflection of just how destructive it is to abandon the one worldview that created the United States of America. I believe we will never know the truth of 9/11 – like the assassinations of Kennedy and MLK, Jr. I watched the planes hit the Twin Towers, but believe there was also controlled demolition going on as well. As far as the Pentagon I don’t know whether a plane hit – I do know there was major damage as I drove by it each day and saw all the scrap and rubble being cleared out. The “let’s roll” story I never believed.
All I do know is that it was very convenient timing. An incident which threatens national security and gives the population a common enemy is a time tested method of uniting people who distrust the government. W was selected by SCOTUS – the economy was tanking, unemployment was high so why not start a war? The MIC was W’s base as it is Obama’s and HRC’s.

Re: 9/11 – what people saw on TV WASN”T shown live. Real planes can’t penetrate buildings that are constructed of steel and glass. The WTC buildings weren’t made of butter. No planes crashed on 9/11. The destruction at the Pentagon resulted from explosions INSIDE the building.

We know the truth about both, Autumn. Martin Luther King was shot dead by convict-on-the-lam named James Earl Ray and John Kennedy was shot dead by an erratic n’er-do-well named Lee Harvey Oswald. Ray had no confederates except, conceivably, his brothers. Oswald had none either. None of this is more than minimally arguable any more, but people have an emotional investment in the issue of their own imaginations.

Our “response” and mission-creep to the 9/11 attacks likely destroyed far more innocent people than the original attack did, not only foreign citizens but American citizens destroyed by CoinTelPro style blacklisting.
These likely thousands of lives and livelihoods of innocent Americans and foreigners destroyed have no hard statistics. For example: when this blacklisting leads to premature of American blacklistees, the FBI and other agencies doesn’t record those deaths as premeditated homicide by federal agents. Since the federal government “deputized” state and local governments with billions of tax dollars, there are constitutional checks between levels of government.
Maybe the greatest crisis in 2016, young Americans graduating high school today have no concept of a viable Bill of Rights to restrain unconstitutional authority. Young people today only know a Nanny State modeled after the Cold War Stasi or communist secret police – the polar opposite of James Madison’s model of government. Young people think it’s constitutional for the Nanny State to troll Facebook and social media on fishing expeditions not based on 4th Amendment restraints.
If the adults of this generation don’t fix it nearly 15 years later, the next generation won’t know how – that’s a genuine crisis!
