“Your Extraordinary Story”: British Woman Reports Gang Rape . . . Dubai Police Arrest Victim For Extra Marital Sex

Dubai has been promoting its country as a vacation spot to the world — a rather implausible destination for most. Attracting Western tourists to a country that follows Muslim rules is a hard sell. That was driven home by the latest outrage from an Islamic legal system after Zara-Jayne Moisey, 25, reported her gang rape and gave the names of her attackers (two British men). Dubai police responded by allowing the alleged rapists to leave the country and then arrested Moisey for criminal extra-marital sex. Welcome to Dubai, the desert paradise.

Not exactly what Moisey found in the United Arab Emirates. She was raped by the two men who allegedly filmed the violent attack. Her passport was seized and she is facing trial.

She has a gofundme site to help her out of this nightmare.

Various countries have warned tourists not to wear anything that offend Islamic values and not to show affection in public.

In the meantime, the country may want to change its slogan to create “your extraordinary story.” Moisey has one but it hardly going to be a crowd pleaser.

  1. Paul I have to admit it, your replays are better than mine. God bless and best wishes.

  2. Isn’t Sharia Law just grand?

Clearly this country does need a travel advisory. And maybe, perhaps, we should stop being so close to countries that abuse women like this. I know that means that vast areas of the world would become less chummy, but clearly our friendship has not rubbed off.

Isaac – I don’t find her predicament funny, at all, or a plum to make political hay. Raped and in jail for her rape.

When I heard Donald’s audio, he sounded like an aging rocker trying to puff out his chest by bragging about groupies to somehow compete with the younger man. I did not hear him talking about forcing himself on women or holding them down. I heard him chuckling about what women will allow because he’s such a famous guy. Sounded like he was talking about groupies to me. And when he walked out, he didn’t touch the female at all until Bush urged her to give him a hug. I was annoyed, but I did not think he was talking about sexually assaulting anyone.

Rape is such a terrifying, soul killing crime. I knew a Lebanese Christian man who had some friends over, where they suddenly started talking about a war. One of their Christian female friends they’d grown up with was captured by the Muslim army, and they all heard her raped for hours upon hours by the army until they threw her dead body over the wall. The attitudes of many Old World extremist Muslims towards women are so very, chillingly different than that of modern, Westernized Muslims. I’ve had a great many Westernized Muslim friends, and when you get around the multigenerational parties, and the men from the Old Countries start talking, about Jews or gays, it’s pretty shocking. Bragging about groupies has no similarities at all. I found that Muslim women who were born here, or raised here from a young age, were the most averse to Old Country ways. Because they had the most to loose, and were in the most danger when they returned for family visits. One girl told me a harrowing story about being arrested for wearing nail polish and traveling in a car alone with her maternal cousin. Different last name = arrest.

  3. I would like to commend Issac for his “progression” through the stages of grief. What’s the over/under for when he gets to the bargaining stage?

    1. You can bet he didn’t vote for the candidate backed by the KKK. That’s a stain you’ll never get off.

      1. I’ll bet he chose the candidate that was backed by Planned Parenthood. That’s a stain that will continue to grow.

      2. Emw – it was my understanding that the KKK backed both Hillary and Trump. They were a winner either way.

        1. EMW – Paul’s comment is correct. KKK members backed both Trump and Hillary.

Also, here’s the thing about the KKK. They are patriotic. So’s the military. So’s much of America. Is being patriotic racist? Of course not. The KKK is racist, and so they don’t want any other races here. They support the stop of illegal immigration, as well as all immigration. There are many other people who want all immigration to be legal. Are they racist? Of course not.

So a KKK member may support a candidate who was patriotic, or who wanted to stop illegal immigration. Because they would also want those things. But that does not make the candidate racist.

Hillary Clinton got a lot of support from the KKK because she’s openly admired a major KKK member as her mentor. Long after disavowing his support of the KKK, Robert Byrd still used language like “white n&*(*&(“. So, she got plenty of support because she professed so much support for a racist. Plus she’s white. There is no test to become a Republican or Democrat, and really bad people could be either. You cannot control who votes for you.

          1. You are venturing into a wedge issue Karen. I have been noting this, and Pat Buchanan actually has an article on this very subject today. Patriotism is akin to nationalism, that is a no-friggin’-no with the democrats now. They have worked hard to expand their influence around the world by being wolves in sheeps clothing (the ME??????). Their actions have built a new giant middle class in Asia at the expense of our own (MFN for China, another gift of the Clintons). Maybe this condition will happen to the world one day, but surely not at the hands of the Clintons. It is amazing to see their grandiose visions of themselves, and we see the reflection of that here by some of the blog participants. Who wants to apply the scientific method when you are endowed with the knowledge provided by the DNC and MSM?

AND… I think, and their are examples… the democrats have been very effective at changing the meaning of “patriotism” and “nationalism” to “racism.” The sapir-whorf hypothesis shows that we learn new things by associating terms with them. The democrats have been in the process of not only attacking the media, but by changing perceptions by changing the underlying the very vocabulary we have used to understand the relationship of things. It’s helps explain the shock and horror of the election results as the meaning for the group of words commonly used has a different meaning for them.

            1. slohrss,
I wasn’t aware of the sapir-whorf hypothesis, thank you. Perhaps I don’t understand it completely but it reminds me of Bill Clinton’s “that depends on what the definition of IS, is”. The whole idea of changing vocabulary as a way of changing one’s worldview is an insidious method of controlling people. The most effective way of control is by owning the system of education and the means of communication; both of which are dominated by the progressive left.

Which reminds me of one of our more frequent commenters on this blog, Autumn: she has been trying to disassociate the Clinton’s from the Progressive movement and thus redefining progressives as a good. While I would not fault her or anyone trying to distance themselves from the Clinton’s, Hillary has openly owned that progressive label. Autumn and her “new” progressive identity appears to be trying to align herself to the populist movement that brought on the rise of Trump. Her support of Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders would be a Grand Canyonesque gap between the populists supporting Trump and those in the Stein-Sanders camp.

Choice and Life. Two words by themselves that are positive terms. Freedom, another word that is universally embraced. But put “Freedom of” before both “Choice” and “Life” and you can destroy an entire culture.

Is it any wonder half of eligible voters don’t vote and many of those that do are moved to riot by language alone?

              1. Olly – the meaning of words change over time naturally. It is usually students who do it. They do not want adults to know what they are talking about so they use the same words but different meanings. Teachers are usually the first to catch on (although some are denser than others) since they spend all day with students and their language. Then the words move into the regular vocabulary, for good or bad. And finally, if they are used enough, the Oxford English Dictionary.

However, bureaucrats create language to cover their tracks and confuse their bosses. And there is the sublanguage of every job or avocation. This is a short-handed way of getting the job done. Forms have a number, foods have a special name, etc.

                1. I do understand that the meaning of words change naturally and unnaturally. What I find particularly dastardly is the manipulative psychology behind the intended change. One of the most insidious is how the word “Progressive” and/or “progress” could move a culture to want to erase their founding history and the principles for which the whole thing was designed to lead the society to recognize equality for all and the security of unalienable rights. It’s like convincing people it’s better to play Russian Roulette with a Glock and not a revolver. The psychology behind this is so evil that the result effectively commits the victim to a choice that defies our natural desire for freedom and liberty.

                  1. Olly – even Progressives don’t know who they are or what they should be. That is why I am not one. 😉

              2. Here is the problem that I have with Progressivism – it employs the tactic of forcing what it determines as the best scientific and moral opinion on the rest of the world, either through dictatorial government control, or through force of public opinion.

Progressives forget their history. The Progressive movement had its roots in Manifest Destiny – bringing civilization to the West and “taming” the savages. Forcing indigenous peoples to forget their native languages and only learn English was a Progressive idea at the time. So was Prohibition, where the government made it illegal to drink alcohol…for their own good. So was Eugenics – the idea that the human race could be improved by genetic culling. So was race theory – the thought at the time that science indicated the superiority of certain races. These were all well meaning projects at the time, using the pinnacle of science, but the common factor was inflicting the opinion deemed superior on the masses.

And then, in its communication with Europe, Progressivism became quite deadly. Fascism and Nazism were both considered Progressive ideas at the time. Their proponents eagerly discussed and shared ideas and techniques across the pond, including Eugenics. I think American Progressives were horrified at the extent to which both traveled, but that’s always the problem when you erode personal liberty, make Big Government in control or influential in minutiae of our lives, and force your opinions on the masses. What government can withstand that type of temptation of ultimate power?

I alway thought, it’s anachronistic to judge yesterday’s standpoints by today. Every party and movement makes its horrible mistakes. Progressivism lost that militant standpoint long ago. But it seems to be picking up again.

In our own recent history, we have more examples of the common thread of Progressive force to a “superior” idea – sin taxes on sodas, if anyone opposes a Progressive idea like gay marriage, they can lose their job. From my position on personal liberty, I support gay marriage (and being gay in general) because it’s nobody’s beeswax what consenting adults do in their bedroom. I told people it wouldn’t affect them. I was wrong. Since it was approached from the Progressive standpoint, quite a bit of force was incorporated. A journalist looked up a little Mom and Pop pizza place in a tiny town, grilled the owner’s daughter on her position on gay marriage (she said something about how she supported everyone’s right to live how they want, but she just personally does not agree with gay marriage), and then asked if she would hypothetically cater a gay wedding. She said they’ve never even catered a straight wedding. Who would want pizza at their wedding? But when pressed, she said no, they would probably decline. Target in sight! Progressives around the country started calling them up, placing bogus orders, so that they could never tell if it was a legitimate order or a waste of product. They eventually closed their doors. This kind of aggressive targeting went on all over the country, which left me with egg on my face in front of all those I’d told were not going to be affected.

The ad hominem attacks and demonizing the enemy that has become de rigueur if a conservative attempts to discuss a position with a Progressive is another example. Other examples are shouting down conservatives invited to speak at universities, the double standard in which Progressives hurl racial slurs at African Americans and otherwise pressure them to vote Democratic, to the point that minority conservatives typically hide their beliefs, putting violent agitators into Trump rallies so they can engage in violence and then blame Trump, savagely attacking anyone who questions anything about Anthropogenic Climate Change, harassing conservative university professors and students, PC, micro aggressions, safe spaces, the harassment of males accused of wrongdoing on campuses without equal due process…I don’t think I need to go into Obamacare being forced upon us at great cost, as I believe I’ve beaten that subject to death.

And this is the problem I have with Progressivism. It’s not many of their positions, or ideas (soda is, in fact, bad for your health). It’s the use of force, either through government of public opinion, to make the masses subscribe to or follow their beliefs.

To me, individual liberty and rights are the most important. Lose that, and any minority may be harassed, have its rights stripped, be treated unfairly…

I can find a lot in common with moderate, fiscal conservative Democrats, and Republicans, and Libertarians, although I lean right on many core issues, like small government. But the force aspect, and the erosion of personal liberty, on the part of the Progressives, whom I’m beginning to regard as the alt-Left, has really alienated me over the past few years.

If you feel you are a Progressive, but believe in Free Speech, even when it’s Bad Speech, have tolerance for other political views, especially when it’s hard, believe in the Constitution, and value individual rights and liberty…then you’re not a Progressive at all. And in fact would get shouted down yourself if you tried to share your views on a university campus.

  4. How about the British Foreign Ministry tell UAE to release her or else they will publically announce on the BBC that tourists should cancel trips to the Emirates for their own safety.

    1. Independent Bob – according to her husband Bill, Hillary has eaten more pu**y than he has. However, she is bisexual. I want a DNA test on Chelsea and Bill.

      1. Assuming this is true — which I have no doubt it is not — what would be the problem with it. You have some kind of problem based on prejudice with bisexuals? Why should it matter to you or anyone else if HRC or any other woman for that matter enjoys sex with another woman?

  5. Lot of similarities between the Islamic attitude towards women and that of the Donald. In the Donald’s world, it’s alright and manly to go out and grab some pu**y if you’re rich and famous of course. Women should be happy for the attention from the Donald. It is amazing the hypocrisy on this subject on this blog.

  6. Trump should remember this and take it into consideration the next time our country is asked to sell the barbarians defense weapons or even energy industry equipment or services.

    1. The underlying economic interests won’t change, so don’t expect any action without a guarantee his economic interests and those of his friends won’t be negatively impacted.

  7. The case is indicative of the most disagreeable aspects of Muslim societies and the culpable stupidity which infects the culture. The Emir needs to be told that a pardon will be forthcoming or the British government will begin to turn the screws.

    1. Well, we’ve been told repeatedly by our most elite educational institutions that all cultures are equal. We are not allowed be judgemental and thus have seen the de-emphasis of Western Civilization in the humanities curricula. So, we are not relatively enlightened but judgemental. The non-judgmentalism creed of course relies on a judgement, and therefore violates its own principal tenet.

      1. JR – as a former Humanities teacher, I agree that all cultures have much to offer. I also believe that Western Civilization has had the most influence on the United States. Both Western Culture and World Culture should be required courses.

  8. beakie, General Flynn does not abide the PC of the current administration and calls out this type of horsesh!t for what it is.

  9. This just shows how bass-acwords that certain cultures have always been. Women are treated as property rather than assets, therefore these societies will always be mentally deficient, a step behind, and lacking in their full potential. It’s very sad that women aren’t valued for their brains but only for their sexual capacities.

    1. beakie48 – I hope it doesn’t hurt your feelings that I have always selected my female friends for their brains.

  10. This has got to be some sort of joke. In real life Dubai is not a hard core Islamic country. It’s the playground of the Middle East whhTere the rest go to booze and babe it up. All it takes is going to the area known as The Creek and one can find anything including drugs or two at a time 12 year olds not necessarily the same sex.

So wihat it boils down to is she didn’t pay baksheesh (bribe) or offer to screw the cops. Most of the women, girls and boys included are Philippine or Eastern European who had been sold by their families for eating money. It was a major port for supplies during the Iraqui War of the early 2000’s and we stopped there quite often. Ii would have believed any of the others but not the Las Vegas of he Middle East.

Either that or ISIS and the Taliban took over.

They also host major golf tournaments, Formula 1 Racing, and have one of if not the tallest building in the world but the seedy side is very easy to find and not to far from the natural pearl and gold souks.

  11. Normally a fan of your blog, but you really should have proofread this post. Some of the passages are difficult to understand because they aren’t complete sentences.

  12. I do hope things like this start to change under President Trump. Diddle has happened under President Obama.

    1. I do hope you’re not serious, Squeeky. Even Prof. Turley gets that such nations as Dubai are vile and indecent, to put it mildly, when it comes to civil rights and justice.

    2. Do your googles on “Zara Moisey istudio” a pictures worth a thousand words, you’ll have to login. Also maybe the “muslim” officers viewed the video and acted accordingly?

      1. B, I have no idea what you’re referring to, but if you’re trying to insinuate that this woman deserved getting raped and then being charged in the UAE for violations of their laws for being raped, then you are WAAAAAAY off base.

I did a little detective work on my own and I’ve concluded that Zara-Jayne Moisey is also known as Zara-Jayne Edwards, since her husband’s name was Paul Edwards. Here is her LinkedIn profile.

        https://www.linkedin.com/in/zara-jayne-edwards-9358234a

She is clearly a very smart and knowledgeable person who made the dreadful mistake of going to Dubai in the UAE, an uncivilized and barbaric nation that should be avoided by any thinking person.

    3. Actually I doubt that is what they think. Women who report rapes in Muslim countries are often if not always prosecuted for adultery. It’s what they do. Men have rights women don’t.

      1. You are absolutely wrong here. Muslim countries do not abuse women rights. I don’t have a clue about Zara Moisey istudio’s case, so i cannot make assumptions. However, i urge everyone who has anything against Islam and Muslim countries to be fair, by ignoring the propaganda and doing your own neutral research on Islam.

        Thank you

    4. She was a willing participant and she’s trying everything not to get the video released, the high court will judge Friday on lifting the ban which will prove these lads got framed for money
She done a similar trick before and got 15k hush money
