It is sometimes fascinating to see how celebrity status can warp the perspective of some stars. Ariana Grande is clearly one such case. You may recall how Grande was previously shown in a truly disgusting moment where she licked donuts at a shop and proclaimed how she hated America. She later clarified that when she said that she hated America, she was really proud of being American. Now, Grande has caused a firestorm by declaring herself “the hardest-working 23-year-old human being on Earth” as well as noting that she is remarkably “cute.” With millions out of work and others working multiple minimum wage jobs, readers were irate at how incredibly out of touch Grande is. By the way, Florence Thompson ( the women in this iconic image from the 1930s) was only a few years older than Grande and had four kids with a fifth child on the way when this photo was taken. Her husband was dead. Thompson might have worked a tad harder than even Ariana Grande.
A recent study showed that 6 out of 10 Americans have less than $500 savings. Even if they were disgusting enough to lick donuts, they could not afford it.
It appears that, even at 23, Grande (like so many celebrities) is so out of touch with reality that she thinks that being a signer and star is truly hard work. It does not help to have an army of sycophants who constantly gush over your talents and “sacrifices.”
By the way, there are 100 million children working in hazardous and disgusting conditions just to pay for crude shelter and minimal food. In China and other countries, hundreds of workers die each day from exposure and overwork.
I will stick with women like Thompson for my inspiration She worked every possible job to keep her children alive, including chopping cotton for 40 cents an acre. She raised six children with starvation a constant companion. They could only dream of licking donuts.
Well there is plenty of room in the ignorant hypocrite Hollywood elite club. As president of the club, I’m sure Meryl Streep can help her fill out the application.
“She could only dream of licking donuts”. Isn’t that the truth!
What was it that caused Rome’s fall?

And people why Trump won the election given all the celebrity endorsements that influenced millions.
Influenced yes, but which way?
A wanna be Material Girl or a hybrid of Madonna or Lady Gaga. With that outfit she’s wearing, working girls can also be found in gentlemen’s clubs.
James – she needs to step up her game with a minor wardrobe malfunction.
Fortunately, I am old enough never to have heard of her. Where is Vaughn Monroe when you need him?
Her tongue is obviously overworked licking all those doughnuts. I’m a bit tired of hearing about these celebrities who have been so well rewarded that they are too stupid to keep their mouths shut.
This clonette objected to being objectified as a sex object after making a career – such as it is – as following a long line of those who a. sell themselves as sex objects and b. proving they can’t sing but only copycat a bunch of others who do the latest and not greatest clone music…they all sound alike and each one twice as stupid as the one before. It all started with the Disney Chicks went Disney went porno.
Good point. I had forgotten about Disney Chicks going porno.
You are truly a legal genius – my favorite legal commentator by far. One reason is that you are not known for trashing people personally. In this day and age, where our established rights are often under challenge, aren’t there more relevant and important matters to discuss from your online lectern than Arianna Grande?
Diva click bait stunt. The Grammys are coming up next month.
No brainer on that one.
I mean honestly, look what outrageous statements of bravado did for ole what’s his name.
Yeah, the orange one.
For a minute I thought JT was describing the president-elect!
I wonder if Hendrix ever bemoaned his oppressive workload?
Sadly, she may be the hardest working 23 yo in America. A singer/dancer has a rather rigorous schedule that they have to keep to keep both the body and voice is shape. Still, I am not sure what she is using as her comparison?
Jacob Riis is turning over in his grave.
She has a lot of growing up to do.
Never stopped to think how old that woman was, food for thought, as always. Thanks for your perspective.
Who’s Ariana Grande?
FWIW, just saw this very sad and relevant story:

Freedom of speech?
Relatively speaking, being a musical performer is very difficult work. It is more difficult than being a bartender, barista, college student, or shoe salesman. And there is a lot of anxiety. Many singers and musicians work years and years sweating over lyrics, toting equipment around, and working weird hours in crummy bars, all to barely make enough to get by on. A few lucky ones like Ariana actually make it and at a young age, and to give her some credit, she probably does work harder than most 23 year olds. FWIW, I am not a fan of hers.
That being said, she has been more than amply rewarded for her labor, and she obviously does not know what life is like for most people, who also work hard and come home with a weekly pay check less than $300.

Blather and bluster, yeah there’s a lot of that going on. She doesn’t even make the cut on which to comment.
I am glad that Issac was the first to comment. I agree. I also could not ordain a subject matter out of the article here. I never heard of her so I cannot agree with the author that she is a celebrity.
We need an article on fair jury trials in criminal cases in America in states that do not recognize the 14th Amendment. Those states are UnReconstructed. They reject the doctrine of Jackson v. Virginia which requires dismissal of criminal cases where the evidence in a circumstantial evidence case is not sufficient to prove all elements of the offense. It is a legal topic. But, we are in the Trump era. Or Trump Ear. This article here about celebrity broad might get Trump’s attention and thence who knows where it goes. Watch his tweets. Tweets from the Twit.
No wonder when we, or rather you, live in one of the if not the highest taxed countries in the world and nothing to show for it ecxcept a 20 trillion dollar debt and elderly directly attacked for a whopping 30% deduction in the buying power of their retirement fund.
As far as the snowflakes are concerned for the men if they can’t pay off the student loan draft them or more accurately use that signature at 18 that made them volunteers for military service. For the women no student loans unless they voluntarily serve. Equal opportunities as much as possible but I would prefer registered for military service like the men.
My real preference is repeal the draft entirely and use the student loan funds for the volunteers be it military or some other type of service such as teaching in inner city schools.
