For a year, we have debated the foundation for criminal allegations against President Donald Trump and others in the continuing investigation of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller has indicted individuals for crimes far removed from the Trump campaign, but has remained silent after the singing of the national anthem (I think it was the national anthem) by Fergie at the All-Star NBA game.
Mueller is allowed to investigate “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated” with the Trump campaign as well as “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation.” The scope includes the right to investigate “any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a)” — including perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses.
Surely this is a national security threat. Moreover, it “arose” as much from the investigation as Paul Manafort’s mortgage before the election. Whether Manafort overextended his assets pales in comparison to the over-extension of Fergie.
Even if this is not the destruction of all evidence of the national anthem, surely if constitutes some from of criminal intimidation or false statement.
It is time for Mueller to unite the country and prosecute Fergie.
This petty post of yours demeans you, Jon. This is just like Fox News constantly trying to undermine the validity of Mueller’s investigation. Collusion with the Russians to influence an American election is a serious matter, as is the lack of legitimacy of Fatso occupying the White House with the Slovenian Princess. It’s sad that you are pitching to the low brow audience of Fox News with today’s stupid post. Maybe you already know that Mueller has enough on Fatso to make him go away?

Nut Cha Cha is making the most of her “Affirmative Action Privilege”, generational welfare and a vast array of other “entitlements” – all paid for by the American taxpayer.
Nut Cha Cha is obviously a Russian agent attempting to sow discord on this website. We need Mueller’s team to investigate Nut Cha Cha.

Wonderful! Can you provide a link for this video?
No, sorry I don’t have one. And yes, she is wonderful.
Total BS. And now, for some anti-Leftist reality–the only kind of reality there is–here’s a REAL Grammy winner and opera star: Renée Fleming
She’s wonderful too.
JT,
I really think you have fallen for lies about Russia. I appreciate your legal analysis of these indictments but within your very good legal argument you still accept things which have not been proven. For example, you say we “know” Russia hacked the DNC e-mails. We do not “know” this. Here is a different perspective:
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-02-18/kim-dotcom-let-me-assure-you-dnc-hack-wasnt-even-hack
Finally, as to all this Russia hating, well, does it really make sense? I don’t think it does.

Give it up, Jill. Turley not only doesn’t care about facts. He hates them with a vengeance, as all Leftists do. He wants desperately to believe that US intelliigence organizations are telling the truth, even though, as has been proven, they have lied countless times. And the reason that he blindly accepts their lie that the emails were hacked by the Russian Government is that his Leftist masters that control those organizations have ordered him to obey their orders. Turley loves such Leftist authority and he relishes submitting to the will of his Leftist masters.
Of course, Jill, you are person who requires actual facts and evidence, and you even demand that things presented as “fact” and “evidence” presented to you make sense and be logical. Most intelligent people function this way, not only on practical matters, but on all matters, including legal ones. However, Leftists live in a different world where facts, evidence, reason, and logic are anathema.
You are right and wise to resist the Leftist authorities hatred for these things. But, at the same time, you should also understand that Leftists are by their very nature weak, passive, and lacking in character. These “qualities” are what make them Leftists in the first place and blindly obsequious to any orders their receieve from the media of official government sources run by Leftist authorities.
More awesomeness. Now we have wackjob Republicans luving them some Russia now that the orange buffoon shows that it’s okay to luvs them some Russia. What’s next? A Stalin appreciation chapter at the Federalist Society? Keep up the comedy, please.

Excellent analysis by lawyer and counterrorism expert Asha Rangappa
Excerpted from the article linked above:
“At this point, there can be no question that trying to derail Mueller’s investigation — including attempting to fire him, or his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein — is directly beneficial to Russia. In short, the political costs of trying to quash the investigation have just skyrocketed, and attempting to quash the investigation at this point could even be a clear case of obstruction of justice.”
Great post, Kathy. I chose the point that struck me the most. But the remainder of Ms. Rangappa’s points are also well worth taking.
BTW, the Kremlin’s information-warfare campaign against the United States just so happened to be two of the key allegations in the Trump-Russia dossier compiled by Christopher Steele. Thus, Mueller’s indictment of the 13 Russians employed by Putin’s cook at the Internet Research Agency provide additional and more detailed corroboration and verification of key allegations in the Trump-Russia dossier. That, in turn, means that Steele did not materially lie to, nor materially mislead, the FBI with respect to those key allegations.
Diane – everyone is hanging fire for the IG’s report, which may or may not include Mueller or a recommendation on Mueller. I would not put all my eggs in one basket until the report is out and most people are expecting sometime in March.
Paul C. Schulte,..
– My guess would be that Mueller and the IG are working on completely different tracks.
You’ve mentioned the sense of doom that you had watching the SAC bombers fly overhead in Nebraska during the Cuban Missle Crisis.
I wanted to ask you if your level of concern back then was as great as the recent/current crisis and terror caused by the Russian trolls?
Tom Nash – I think the Russian trolls are funny, working a 12 hour day with specific word guidelines. I cannot see them doing any damage, real or imagined. The Cuban Missile Crisis was REAL.
Is vomiting during the National Anthem disrespectful, too???

Her last line Let’s play some basketball was apparently on the minds of everyone during that rendition. She should have opened with that, made a bow towards the color guard and walked out.
Hardly a revelation, but it is worth noting (though doubtful to be noted here in “intellectual” Trump camp) that Mueller has documented concerted and ongoing (multi million dollar apparatus with “hundreds of employees” and covert spying) Russian meddling in our election, and your president: DOES. NOT. CARE. Apparently meaningless anthems are of more import than your president’s continued trashing of the nation itself. Smh.
Memlaw57,
They’re Internet Trolls. They were trolling the Internet. Do you really want to declare sanctions and go to war over that??? Do you really want a war over Internet Trolls??? Do you really want to return to a Cold War status with the Russians??? I don’t. And:

The trolls were paid by whom?
Putin’s cook (Prigozhin) gets most of his money from provisioning contracts with the Russian military. Moreover, the people working at the Internet Research Agency are all Russian intelligence operatives who have been running smear campaigns against Putin’s political opponents for many years. Also, the Internet Research Agency practiced information warfare against The United Kingdom during the Brexit referendum and against Germany and France in their most recent elections.
One has to wonder exactly which is more important to SFGR: Defending Trump or defending Putin? Maybe Squeeky doesn’t recognize the distinction.
OMFG. Now Diane’s down to the Russian cook.
I am officially done with these Soros bots.

Excerpted from the Asha Rangappa article to which Kathy kindly posted a link:
In making the details of Russia’s social media and propaganda operation public, Mueller accomplished two goals. First, he made it crystal clear to Russia that pursuing a criminal case against individuals and entities who have interfered in our democracy is a priority and worth the tradeoffs that come with exposing the FBI’s secrets. And second — and perhaps more importantly — because Russia’s social media and propaganda campaign is only effective as long as it remains in the shadows, the best way to neutralize it is to make it public. Mueller’s indictment reveals exactly how Americans may have been duped by false and misleading information pushed out by Russia.
Hillary and the DNC used a third party to contract with a foreign spy to buy disinformation about Trump from Kremlin connected Russians. The disinformation was then peddled to Hillary’s campaign to friendly media outlets to try to get them to publish it and swing the election to her. Then they gave the unverified information to Obama’s FBI who used it to apply for a warrant to spy on Carter Page, an unpaid volunteer of the Trump campaign who apparently has never even met Trump.
Which is worse: 1) A political campaign using disinformation obtained from paid Russian agents to inject into a campaign to try to swing an election, then the federal government using that that disinfo to spy on Americans, or 2) Some randos unconnected to the Trump campaign doing some internet trolling?
Your side doesn’t give two squats about the tens of millions of illegals who have invaded the country, some of whom are illegally registering and voting in elections, but you want us to think 13 internet trolls in Russia tweeting and Facebooking are a threat to democracy.
Just go away.
You really, really, for the sake of your own mental health, need to stop watching Fox News. None of the information uncovered by Christopher Steele has been proven untrue or incorrect. The investigation started with a Republican rival of Fatso’s, not with HRC’s campaign. After the rival lost the nomination at the convention, the Republican rival offered what had been obtained to date to HRC’s campaign. The evidence of ties between Fatso and the Russians was so overwhelming that the US government was contacted. HRC didn’t start the investigation and didn’t orchestrate communication with government officials. Fatso’s campaign even denied knowing who George Papadopulous was, despite photos of him in meetings with Fatso. Now there are the indictments and guilty pleas, which Fox tries to ignore.
Where, where is there evidence that illegals have registered and voted? More Fox propaganda.

Scott,…
It’s up to you, but you may want to carefully consider taking advice from one of the most demented commentators here about “the sake of your mental health”.
At least be sure to read Natacha’s previous posts/ rants.
The lie that the GOP started the funding for the Steele/ Russian Dossier continues to be recycled, so maybe from the perpective of people like Natacha it’s worthwhile to keep repeating that lie if there’s a chance to score some points with it.
Tom Nash, Natacha didn’t say what you said she said. Here’s what Natacha said:
“The investigation started with a Republican rival of Fatso’s, not with HRC’s campaign. After the rival lost the nomination at the convention, the Republican rival offered what had been obtained to date to HRC’s campaign.”
Now here’s what you said, Nash:
“The lie that the GOP started the funding for the Steele/ Russian Dossier continues to be recycled.”
Can you spot the difference between what Natacha said versus what you said Natacha said?
Very slick, L4D. Maybe you’ve beem coaching her on playing word games.
It is clear from the context that Natacha was addressing Scott’s comment about the DNC/ Hillary Campaign funding for the Russian Dossier.
Additionally, there is a very strong implication in Natacha’s comment that the Republicans initiated the Russian Dossier project.
Natacha could have clarified that “The investgation” she referred to was the standard domestic opposition research in the GOP-funded stage.
She did not, either in her commemt that you quoted or in response to my comment.
You evidently speak for her.
Thank you once again for the exhibition of your skills at playing chicken**** word games.
As much as I’d like to play along, I can’t “sit on this comments site” for 4-5 hours every day and post dozens of comments.

The Census estimate is 11.8 million people are here illegally. Pew says it is 11.1 million. FAIR says it is around 12.5 million. Bear Stearns did a study in 2005 and concluded the number may be over 20 million but that several credible studies concluded that as many as 3 million people were illegally invading the country per year. So yeah, “tens of millions”.

Regarding this “singer”. I recently took my grandsons 6, 10 and 14 to a Chris Botti concert. I wanted them to listen to good music and singers perform a song with out cursing or demeaning anyone. To my joy on the ride home they asked when I would take them again to listen to Chris. Might be a good idea if all our kids were exposed to singers like Ole Blue Eyes, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole and more Michael Bubble.

Al O’Heem, would we all have to become Glam-Rock ventriloquists to make our dummies appear to be singing our new national anthem?
Thanks for posting this rendition of the National Anthem, I think. I have been constipated and after listening to this version I immediately found relief.
As for Mueller his bank account is growing.
Let us not forget Jose Feliciano’s forgettable effort at the 1968 World Series. That was the mother of all awful renditions of the Star Spangled Banner.
Vince, I disagree completely. If I’m not mistaken–big if–that was the game in which Bob Gibson threw 17 strike outs. Surely Feliciano’s “Light My Fire” take on The Star Spangled Banner had something to do with inspiring Gibson’s performance . . . or unnerving the opposing batters.
Gibson’s 17 K game was in Game 1. Feliciano sung the National Anthem in Game 5. Tigers’ starting pitcher Mickey Lolich claimed that Feliciano’s extra long rendition caused him (Lolich) to get cold after warm ups resulting in giving up 3 runs in the 1st inning, although the Tigers later came back to win the game.
Darn it, Vince. It’s not my fault that your memory is better than mine. But thanks for the memories, anyhow.
You are most welcome.
I have finally come to respect Bob Mueller, since he recently came out with his statement that he may soon indict himself. “As s result of our ongoing investigation into the alleged Russian collusion, our team of investigators have gotten into many issues that may seem to be far astray from our original mission,” Mueller announced privately to one of his many contacts in the media. “Some of our investigators have come up with information that incriminates me, and, if warranted by the identification of the necessary facts, I may indict myself,” Mueller added.
Although all of the circumstances behind Mueller’s recent admission aren’t clear, according to leaks from Mueller’s team, Mueller’s confession may have something to do with the murder of Americans on September 11, 2011. Over the years, evidence of Saudi involvement has continued to come to light. In September 2011 — 10 years after the attacks — Florida Bulldog, a non-profit watchdog news group based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, published an excellent piece of investigative journalism revealing the existence of the secret FBI investigation of a Saudi family living in Sarasota, Florida, with apparent ties to the 9/11 attackers.
Mueller — who was still at the helm of the FBI at the time the article was published — was involved in the “public release of deceptive official statements about” that secret investigation, according to a recent article from the Bulldog. As the recent article says:
The misleading statements, issued by FBI officials in Miami and Tampa, were made within days of a September 2011 Florida Bulldog story disclosing the existence of the investigation and reporting that Congress had been kept in the dark about it.
The statements sought to discredit the story, asserting that agents had found no connection between the Sarasota Saudi family and the 9/11 plot. But, in fact, the FBI’s own files contained at least three reports that said the opposite: that agents found “many connections” between the family and “individuals associated with the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001.” The FBI released those reports later amid continuing Freedom of Information (FOI) litigation brought by Florida Bulldog.
The New American reached out to the Bulldog and spoke with Dan Christensen, the founder of the organization and writer of the article. Christensen is no newcomer to investigative journalism. After an award-winning career as an investigative reporter with the Miami Herald, he started the Bulldog in 2009 as a “nonprofit, independent and nonpartisan news organization that seeks to provide authoritative reporting in the public interest while upholding high standards of fairness and accuracy.”
Whether Mueller will finally come clean out his cover up in the 911 crimes is not certain. His admission of guilt and his private statement that he may indict himself may merely be a desperate misleading attempt to convince the public that he actually has integrity. But more likely, he will back out and fail to indict himself, saying he had second thoughts about telling the truth.
From the Wikipedia article on Robert Mueller:
“Mueller was nominated for the position of FBI director by George W. Bush on July 5, 2001. The confirmation vote on the Senate floor on August 2, 2001, was unanimous, 98–0. He had served as acting deputy attorney-general of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) for several months before officially becoming the FBI director on September 4, 2001, just one week before the September 11 attacks against the United States homeland.”
From the jaundiced neuropathy of Ralph Adamo:
“Mueller’s confession may have something to do with the murder of Americans on September 11, 2011.”
The Senate confirmed Mueller’s appointment as Director of the FBI on August 2nd, 2001. And Mueller began officially serving as FBI director on September 4th, 2001, which is seven days before September 11th, 2001; which, in turn, was Mueller’s eighth day on the job as FBI director.
Ralph Adamo needs to find a saner, more effective way of defending Trump than a deranged and feckless attempt at assassinating the character of Robert Swan Mueller The Third who will not be deterred.
Ha!
Well if Muller is willing to define so-called Internet “propaganda” as “election meddling” using the Federal Election Campaign Act, I don’t see how that’s much of a stretch.
Steve Robinson, there aren’t many blawg readers who can tell to whose comment you were replying, anymore. I presume that you were replying to Ralph Adamo’s deranged diatribe against Mueller. If so, then your jaundiced neuropathy is as severe as Ralph Adamo’s.
I think Rosanne was the worst National Anthem ever.
I agree, but this one comes in a close second.
But Draymond Green’s reaction almost makes up for her disasterous performance.
I expected to players to “take a knee” in praying for her to stop.
Just no
I’d almost have players kneel before a proper rendition than to have to listen to that twice. Who is this Fergie person and what does she do that makes her famous?
OMG–I had to hear it to believe it. Yeah, get Mueller on something worthwhile for that fat-a$$ed paycheck he gets. This is a crime that will outlast Trump.
