Trump Complains About Being Stiffed By Nobel Committee In Baffling Statement Over Ethiopia

President Donald Trump has previously raised his unrecognized qualifications for the Nobel Peace prize. However, for those of us watching the rally last night in Ohio, one statement sent us furiously typing on our computers and googling the latest news from the Nobel committee. Trump referred to just hearing that the Ethiopian Prime minister would receive the prize and noted the unfairness since he was the one who made the deal. In fact, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed won the prize last year in October and there is no evidence that Trump played a key role in his peace negotiations to end the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea.

You can watch the statement here. The President declared “I made a deal. I saved a country. And I just heard that the head of that country is now getting the Nobel Peace Prize for saving the country. I said, ‘What? Did I have something do with it?’ Yeah. But you know, that’s the way it is. As long as we know, that’s all that matters.”

Trump may have been thinking of his offer to help forge a deal between the Ethiopian prime minister and Egypt’s prime minister over a dam on the Nile. However, there is no indication of a role on Eritrea.

The comment also produced even more backlash since the President just a couple days ago was suggesting that he would commit the war crime of bombing Iranian cultural sites before walking back on that statement. Trump has also been denounced for insisting that you would allow torture as U.S. policy in the past. That is also a war crime.

The comments at the rally left many confused, particularly the Ethiopians.

By the way, Abiy also released political prisoners, restored core civil liberties and carried out a host of reforms.

  1. Trump doesn’t stand a chance to get a Nobel prize. He’s not a liberal left wing socialist.

  2. As our beloved Nobel Peace Prize winning President Obama got us involved in 3 new wars including the Yemen war where ongoing war crimes are committed, and did nothing about Iraq or Afghanistan, it doesn’t look the the committee has much credibility anyway — unless they write Obama to ask for the award back.

  3. The Nobel Peace Prize is a joke. The committee is appointed by the Norwegian parliament and so reflects the party in power. This tends to result in awards based on political motivations. To make things worse there is a lack of transparency regarding the criteria used by the committee. The bottom line result is awarding too many unqualified recipients (e.g., Obama) while bypassing worthy individuals (e.g., Gandhi). Politicalization has greatly diminished the prize which is not what Nobel had in mind.

  4. Trump Validates Legitimate Fears..

Of War With Him As President

However evil General Soleimani may have been, a substantial number of Americans realize that Trump dwells in a fact-free universe. This column by Professor Turley certainly buttresses that point. Therefore a war with Trump as President could be highly problematic because his credibility is so weak.

At times of war, more than ever, the President’s credibility is essential. American citizens, and the world community, must view White House statements as credible or America has no moral authority. This brings us to claims Trump made yesterday in an exclusive interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News.

Trump asserted that Iran had plans to blow-up 4 U.S. embassies. Even Laura Ingraham sensed this claim was possibly problematic. And it is! Administration officials are now struggling to ‘clarify’ Trump’s claims. But this could be the bridge-too-far in terms of Trump falsehoods.

    1. Listen, Chuck. I live in CA. People with real mental illnesses and drug addiction stagger around in our cities, towns, and even rural areas, absolutely so out of their mind that they defecate all over the street. These are very ill people.

To weaponize mental illness diagnosis for political purposes is unethical. Actual mentally ill people, like schizophrenics, deserve our compassion and help.

Barry Goldwater was hit with accusations of mental illness and instability that were unfounded. He was slated to win the presidency, and this guerrilla warfare by psychiatrists suffering political poisoning cost him the White House. He became an innocent target of trench warfare.

Enough of this. Many of us are getting tired of the Left constantly calling us every vile, evil name in the book, even resorting to mental illness claims, for political gain. It’s disgusting. Stop.

      1. Karen, one look at Trump’s Twitter feed suggests he is rash and immature; which are major handicaps for a president.

  5. Considering the level Nobel’s and similar have fallen too it’s no big deal anymore kind of like the Olympics with French and Russian judges, or NFL, or people who applaud the Pelosites for becoming the Typhoid Mary’s of the 21st Century.

    1. True. Awarding Obama a Noble Prize for doing nothing other than being half black, was a travesty. His Kenyan father did nothing for him other than give him DNA, and his white mother and white grandparents did all of the heavy lifting

        1. that’s an idiotic comment to make. Obama’s father was from Kenya, not from America

“In Barack Obama’s memoir Dreams from My Father (1995), Davis is referred to as a friend in Hawaii of Obama’s maternal grandfather Stanley Dunham; Obama later identified the man as Davis.[37][38] Obama said Davis recounted that he and Stanley Dunham had grown up 50 miles apart in Kansas, near Wichita, although they did not meet until living in Hawaii. Davis described the way Kansas race relations were back then, including Jim Crow restrictions, and his belief that there had been little progress since then. As Obama remembered, “It made me smile, thinking back on Frank and his old Black Power, dashiki self. In some ways he was as incurable as my mother, as certain in his faith, living in the same sixties time warp that Hawaii had created.”[39] Obama also remembered Frank Davis later in life after taking a job in South Chicago as a community organizer. One day Obama visited areas where Davis had lived, writing, “I imagined Frank in a baggy suit and wide lapels, standing in front of the old Regal Theatre, waiting to see Duke or Ella emerge from a gig.”[40]

  6. we Ethiopia Deserve it due to Our prime Minister ABIY Ahmed ended the war only with his Excellency
    we proud it
Trump why did He ended the war Between North Korea
Ethiopia love Abiy and Nobel prize committee

        1. Ironic that DBB is deriding the mental health of the President of the USA whilst posting comments at 5:24 AM EST from Washington State 2:24 AM

Your family must find you insufferable. We share their pain

          1. “whilst posting comments at 5:24 AM EST from Washington State 2:24 AM”

            So?

      1. No, but 25 psychologists and psychiatrists have written that trump’s mental health is dangerously (for everyone) bad.

        1. 25 Psychologists do not think that way about Wally because none know he exists and fewer even care

          LOLOLOL

        2. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/2/10/14551890/trump-mental-health-narcissistic-personality
Trump pulled off the biggest presidential election upset in about 70 years.
That seemed to impact the mental health of some who were the most shocked and the most disappointed in Trump’s unexpected victory.
Almost immediately, those in that category we’re looking for ways to throw him out of of office.
( The date of this article, which refers to the petition, is Feb. 2017).
Whether it was emoluments, alleged financial crimes, “collusion” with Russia, Trump’s alleged mental disorder, etc., none of those attempts to remove Trump were successful.
The latest attempt in a series of attempts is the “Ukraine Impeachment”.
That’s going to be about as effective as the previous attempts to remove him.
It may seem like a terrible alternative to forcing Trump from office in the first weeks (or first years) of his first term, but those who have been trying for years will have to wait for November to get their chance.

        3. Wally – those psychologists have committed ethical misconduct. The APA has repeatedly warned its members against armchair diagnosis, in violation of the Goldwater Rule. This is another infamous time when psychologists suffered political poisoning, and wrongly accused Barry Goldwater of being mentally unfit. It cost him the Presidency that he had a good chance of winning.

The psychiatric profession appears to attract a high number of people who have mental disorders, themselves. Therefore, it is not surprising that you could find 25 psychiatrists willing to break the professional and ethical rules of their licensing body, as well as weaponize the stigma of mental illness, and use their authority to attack the President.

Considering how common it is for Nancy Pelosi to lose the plot, she will rue the day if we weaponizes a mental health hold or exam on a political opponent. Apparently, nothing is safe from savage political warfare, even the mental health profession. Pity.

    1. Speaking of the Commander-in-Chief, did you read what George Washington and John Jay said about Obongo? He could not be president because he did not have two parents who were citizens and he was the son of a foreign citizen, per the Law of Nations, 1758, Book 1, Ch 19, Sec 21, which defined “natural born citizen.” George and John wrote the following:

To George Washington from John Jay, 25 July 1787
      From John Jay

      New York 25 July 1787

      Dear Sir

I was this morning honored with your Excellency’s Favor of the 22d Inst: & immediately delivered the Letter it enclosed to Commodore Jones, who being detained by Business, did not go in the french Packet, which sailed Yesterday.

Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise & seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government, and to declare expressly that the Command in chief of the american army shall not be given to, nor devolved on, any but a natural born Citizen.

Mrs Jay is obliged by your attention, and assures You of her perfect Esteem & Regard—with similar Sentiments the most cordial and sincere I remain Dear Sir Your faithful Friend & Servt

      John Jay

    2. So Al zheimer, if your uber driver was drunk out of his mind, you would be OK with that because he is the driver?

  7. I watched just a portion of the Trump talk in Ohio last night on TV. I was impressed with ability to address the crowd.

  8. “The Art of the Deal”

The art of the deal is keeping the enemy guessing. If President Trump scared Professor Turley with his comment about Iranian cultural sites, imagine the effect the leader of the Western world had on the Mullahs in Tehran.

    Obama

Obama accomplished nothing of substance or consequence other than his attempt to steal the money of Americans in order to gift it to his favored parasitic hyphenates-du-jour. His singular act was degrading America, its economy, power and influence, adhering to America’s enemies and giving America’s enemies aid and comfort…oh and $150 billion dollars (USD) on a silver platter, no, on Southern Yellow Pine pallets.

More importantly, being irrefutably ineligible for the office of president and not a “natural born citizen,” the unaccomplished, counter-cultural, pot-smoking, community organizing, vacuous empty-suit Obama was the precise form of foreign mole and double agent (his father being an anti-American, anti-colonialist activist extremist foreign citizen subject to foreign influences) which Washington and Jay placed a “strong check” against in their correspondence of 1787 below.

  9. Is there a more impressive acquisition of property ever achieved than what Donald Trump has acquired by squatting on the liberal mind? 🙂

  10. The Nobel committee has lost its credibility long ago so what does it matter who it nominates, viz: Aung San Suu Kyi (who later was brought into question after her government instigated ethnic cleansing against Muslim minorities); Al Gore, who was more of an opportunist and a charlatan than an environmentalist; the European Union, for just “being”; and Barak Obama, who did absolutely nothing at the time to earn the award but the committee fell in love with his persona.

But it gives fuddyduddys an opportunity to wear tuxedos and spend millions on award ceremonies to broadcast their perceived importance and virtue. It’s more about politics and pride than it is about actually making relevant benefit to ordinary people.

    Just another club for elitists

  11. The Nobel Peace Prize has lost its cache. It was absurd for Obama to win it when the guy didn’t actually bring peace. There was that saying, that you shouldn’t win a peace prize if you have a drone kill list. Such a prize should be reserved for people like Mother Theresa, but instead it’s become a political plum.

While I’ve been pleased with the economy and many of Trump’s policies, no, he should not get the Nobel Peace Prize. I have no idea whether he was kidding or not, but it’s irrelevant. This will be another minutia for people to seize upon.

  12. Trump was joking. He wanted to confuse MSM. You have to be again to understand.

  13. Why would this surprise anyone who knows Trump? He is mentally ill and a chronic, habitual liar. He takes all kinds of credit for things he had little to nothing to do with, like the continued success of the economy he inherited from Obama, who turned around the worst economy since the Great Depression. His illness requires attention, adulation, glory and praise, and he is insanely jealous of others’ successes, especially those of Barak Obama. He also believes that he is the most-powerful person in the world, claiming that he literally can do whatever he wants pursuant to Article II of the Constitution. So far, he’s gotten away with assassinating Soleimani, which appears to be part of a larger plan to try to kill several Iranian military leaders. His effort to kill another Iranian leader flopped, so his administration came up with the alternative fact that there was an imminent threat.

I blame the Republicans who are his enablers and who won’t speak out. Trump is becoming dangerous, and unless Republicans join with Democrats to curb him, the world is in trouble.

    1. Natcha is mentally ill and a chronic, habitual liar. ”

Typo but we got your back, Natch

    2. Are you a Russian troll deliberately spreading misinformation to weaken the country, a political activist who doesn’t care about the truth or protecting terrorists, or do you have a mental disorder?

At least you’re not screaming hysterically about Fox.

  14. You haven’t learned Trumpism yet. He was in no way serious. He says these things to see the reaction from MSM. You have to be a Trump fan to know he loves to poke fun by using what he is accused of to his advantage. It’s a joke understood by those who speak Trump. We love to see the uproar as much as he does.

    1. No, Phyllis, he was serious. This is just a pivot to explain away yet another lie. What is amusing about an American President lying all of the time? Was he joking about committing war crimes, or about lying that there was an IMMINENT threat?

      1. See, he lives inside your nasty brain. Mission accomplished. You can crawl back under your rock now.
