Nadler: Hunter Biden Must Not Be Called

hunter-bidenI have been writing on the obvious relevance of Hunter Biden  as a defense witness and the equally obvious hypocrisy of some Democrats in demanding their own witnesses while refusing to consider key White House witnesses.  Now. House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., has suggested that, if a trade is needed to secure House witnesses, the managers will not agree to any witnesses if Hunter Biden is part of the deal.   If true, is the House prepared to give up on proving its case to protect the Bidens from the ignoble moment of answering questions about the Ukraine contract?  That is a considerable price to pay to protect Joe Biden.  It is also another reason why the decision to rush the impeachment vote was such a historic blunder by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. If they had waited a couple months as I called for in my testimony, they could have called these witnesses and not handed over control to the Senate. Instead, they impeached by Christmas and then waited a month.

Nadler insisted on Face the Nation that all “relevant witnesses must be heard” — meaning their witnesses.  Yet, if allowing witnesses meant Hunter Biden being called, he suggested that they would reject any deal — and any witnesses.   He dismissed any negotiation as a cover up:  “Any Republican senator who says there should be no witnesses, or even that witnesses should be negotiated, is part of the cover-up.”

As I previously noted, under Federal Rule of Evidence 401, courts will often review possible testimony under the standard of whether “it has a tendency to make a fact more or less probable than it would be without the evidence.”  Even before the adoption of the Bill of Rights, Congress enacted a statute reaffirming the right of the “defense to make any proof that he can produce by lawful witnesses” in cases of treason and capitol cases.  This right to present a defense has been repeatedly reaffirmed by the Supreme Court including in the 1967 opinion in Washington v. Texas, where the Court ruled that “the right to offer the testimony of witnesses and to compel their attendance, if necessary, is in plain terms the right to present the defense, the right to present the defendant’s version of the facts  . . . Just as an accused has the right to confront the prosecution’s witnesses for the purpose of challenging their testimony, he has the right to present his own witnesses to establish a defense.”

Of course, if Biden is called, the House managers would be allowed to cross examine as well as argue their claim of a cover up.

Nadler suggested that Chief Justice John Roberts should make the decision on relevance.  He may want to be careful on such an option.  Roberts might  rule that Biden is a relevant defense witness or, alternatively, he could reaffirm that this is a matter properly left to the Senate on who should be called.

  1. Lev Parnas Asks That Barr Recuse Himself

Parnas was charged last October with funneling foreign money to U.S. political candidates and campaigns. He’s pleaded not guilty.

Parnas and a second man, Igor Fruman, were carrying one-way tickets to Vienna when they were arrested at Dulles Airport outside of Washington on Oct. 9.

The indictment unsealed the next day accused the pair of making illegal straw donations, including $325,000 to a pro-President Donald Trump political action committee. Federal prosecutors say the two also engaged in a scheme to force the ouster of the then-U.S. ambassador in Ukraine.

NBC News has previously reported that Barr was briefed by federal prosecutors in New York on the then-undisclosed case into Parnas when he took office earlier last year.

In his letter to Barr, Parnas’ attorney cites the president’s July 2019 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which Trump mentions Barr as a point person for a possible investigation. It also notes the August 2019 whistleblower complaint, a call for recusal by Senate Democrats on the judiciary committee and one from the New York City Bar Association.

The letter says federal prosecutors have refused to meet with Parnas and delayed the production of discovery evidence in his case. As a result, Parnas “was rendered unable to comply with a duly-issued congressional subpoena in time for congressional investigators to make complete use of his material or properly assess Mr. Parnas as a potential witness,” the letter says.

Edited from: “Guiliani Associate Lev Parnas Asks A.G. Barr To Recuse Himself From Case”

    NBC News, 1/20/20

    1. Regarding Above:

This NBC story reminds us that Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were strawmen transferring $325,000 to a pro-Trump political action committee. Since Parnas had well-documented financial problems, that $325,000 was most certainly not his. Therefore the true source of that money becomes an issue arguably more ominous than those at the heart of the impeachment.

It seems peculiar then that Professor Turley cannot acknowledge Lev Parnas. We would welcome his response regarding this mystery man.

  2. I’m 78 and followed politics since I left the military. After living through Johnson’s “Great Society” and his war, I was more aware of how politics could destroy a country by twisting, spinning, and deceiving the people. Johnson. Well, it happens all the time. I don’t care about politics anymore, but I’m fascinated by how people believe the stuff politicians say and alter their lives because of empty words. These comments are great examples. So many versions and opinions of so many lies. I’m re-reading Eric Hoffer’s “The True Believer” that explains comments like these. Amazing book. Right on. You guys are creating lives on shifting sands. You really believe what you hear. Remember what Benjamin Franklin, one of our first newspaper editors, said: “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.” I’m going on 79 and that has been the best advice I’ve heard in all my life. It will keep you from making massive mistakes.

    1. Marlon Brandon, Please don’t judge all commenters here with the same lens. Some of us actually do our due diligence, learn the facts and when we aren’t sure, don’t comment on those questions which request uncertainties.

  3. It seems like Anon’s ego could not be contained into one alias. He seems to require multiple aliases to back himself up. When he gets lonely for support he even talks to himself. Crazy guy.

      1. Anonymous the Stupid, I base who I am based on what I write which is consistent and has reasonable facts and interpretations. One can only base who you are on your replies to me. Stupid is the appropiate designation for you.

    1. What is sadder Allan is when Anon starts replying to their own comments using mutiple aliases

      Crazy as fuchs!

  4. If reports are true that Paul Pelosi Jr. was employed by another Ukrainian energy company, then Nancy Pelosi has a glaring conflict of interest as bad as Joe Biden’s. Shebused the impeachment process to delay/stop an investigation into widespread influence peddling, money grubbing, possible mail/wire/bank fraud, money laundering, and other corrupt acts in Ukraine by family members of the political elite in the United States.
If they call Hunter Biden as a witness, that will surely lead to Speaker Pelosi’s door.
The Senate should censure the House for using the impeachment process to fabricate faux charges in order to cover up corrupt acts which occurred during the Obama administration…including the Obama/Clinton plumbers colliding with Russian/Ukrainian operatives to interfere in the 2016 election.

      1. Peter

        Bwahahahaaha

        Peter wants proof!

        Bwahahahaaha

You are the queen of copy / paste from nefarious websites and you want to have someone show you theirs?

        Peter thinks he has clout

        Bwahahahahaa

          1. I should not have said that. I am just looking for attention and when no one pays me any mind, since my wife and kids dont either, I come on here, post anonymously. and make an ass of myself. Forgive me for all of my Anonymous comments

      2. Here’s the thing about “sources”: they are usually “unnamed sources” or “reliable sources” from both sides. I read the same things Jones did, but I was never told the name of the “sources” for most of what is being reported in the media. I’m 78. Here is the most valuable advice Benjamin Franklin ever told me: “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see”. Pretty sound advice on all of the stuff in the media.

        1. Hmmm. I’m 78 and that’s pretty much what my Granpere and Ben told me, many times. Then they also said trust no one who wants your money for their endeavors to remove your freedoms. Sorta like what the DC swampers are constantly attempting to do.
          Sound advice all around.

      1. Politfact? Was Utne Reader not available? If you are really desperate, you could always source CNN

        bwahahahahahaha

  5. Don’t call any witnesses. End the circus ASAP. Then the Senate should hold hearings into corruption, money laundering, extortion and blackmail going on with Biden, Pelosi, and Kerry. How about a little American justice here.

    1. There have been 15 previous impeachment trials in the Senate. Every one of them featured witness testimony.

It would be a circus *not* to call witnesses this time.

      1. Anon, you must be doing lines of Alachua Cocaine because you are trolling like a maniac

        Try some Florida Green!

        🥬

      2. Well, I’d like to hear from Hunter and Joe Biden along with the prosecutor he had fired. A lot of questions on that. So, sign me up for witnesses. Oh, also the mysterious whistle-blower and the guy who amended the rules to let him blow his whistle. I’m with Trump on that one.

      3. I think defense should call Biden’s mother. And then jail her for perjury. That’s what Dems risk and they painted themselves into this corner as surely as they painted themselves into the 2016 Hillary election debacle.

    2. I. Believe you hit the nail on the head? I can not believe what politicians do behind the doors and then swallow their voices to the contrary. I believe the American people are asking for honest efforts from those elected to represent their constituents and nothing but the REAL truth so help us God. I was raised in my family of 12 other brothers and sisters, that honesty was the only way to live. I do remember our Mother telling each of us that telling the truth always will stop you from talking days or weeks or years later of ” what did I say the first time around “. I have lived my life by speaking with honesty. I also raised my daughter these same values. I have a 6 year old granddaughter that our daughter is raising her daughter values. I am so appreciative of having parents that believe this value and the many others that we 12 other brothers and sisters that still lives to this day.

I am 68 years old, with the oldest being currently 77 years old down to the youngest at 52 years old. I will also include the fact we all was raised to understand the importance that religion played in each of our lives.

I do Thank you for your time and your understanding.

  6. Any Republican senator who says there should be no witnesses, or even that witnesses should be negotiated, is part of the cover-up.”
That’s as lame as charging obstruction of Congress for following the established provision of requiring the judiciary rule on whether compliance with a Congressional subpoena of persons or documents subject to Executive Priviledge must be enjoined.

    1. There’s the problem. You have unconstitutionally amended the Constitution. There is no reference in fundamental law to “established provision.” That’s for lazy officials and counselors who choose not to do the work. Try paying attention to the “manifest tenor” of the Constitution rather than a dubious judge or justice’s “decision” or “established provision” which translates to amendment of the Constitution, and we all know that is illicit, nay, treasonous. Clearly, the Constitution provides the right against self-incrimination and privilege or privacy regarding a professional and his patron. The Executive branch and the President have the right against self-incrimination and the right to privacy or privilege related to their nominees, appointees, contractors, employees and confidants. No person or entity has legal representation if it is not completely confidential and protected.

      1. Donald Trump does indeed have the right against self-incrimination. Let’s see him actually exercise that right. Call him to testify and have him refuse to answer questions, in public, by invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.

            1. So now Anon is using Peter Shill verbiage. Wow.
All this time we thought there were flocks of locusts trolling this forum paid by George Soros. But it appears it is one infidel turning the wheels behind the curtain as Toto pulls down your panties!

              Eeeuw, that smell!!

            2. What on earth does Trump have to present that is not in the transcript of the phone call? Read the transcript – case closed. There is nothing further to discuss.

              1. Which brings up the point that the entire House inquiry into the Ukraine phone call, in order to charge President Trump with something, is based upon the fictional account of that phone call made up by Schifforbrains.
Not even close to the actual transcript.

            3. pull your head out of crooked hillary’s ass and stick it up gas bag pelosi or the illegal kenyan’s……………. wanted for political espionage…..oh that’d right we can’t do that ……………he’s the first black kenyan pos with no brains to piss on america.

    2. Donald Trump’s obstruction of Congress is part of his larger scheme to cheat in the 2020 election. The longer he can prevent Congress from exposing his wrongdoing, the more successful his cheating is. A lot of good it does for the security of election in November if the Supreme Court doesn’t rule until December that John Bolton and Mike Pompeo have to testify.

        1. Allan Paull, I congratulate you in providing us with everything we need to know about N.E. Brigand in 4 short words.

      1. “Obstruction of Congress”? What is that? Can the Supreme Court be called for “obstruction of Congress” if it votes against a congressional edict? If not, how can the Executive Branch. They are independent of each other. I never heard this in my life and I’m 78.

      2. The House never called Bolton to testify. There is no reason for the Senate to do what they refused to do.

    3. The house is supposed to do the investigation. The senate is only supposed to try on the evidence presented to them. As usual the Democrats screwed it up and want the senate to find evidence.
      Not the senates job.

  7. Brigand, biden should be a witness. He is at the heart of dems claims Trump interfered in the upcoming election. Any person with common sense that isn’t biased can see the bidens were profiting off joes vp position. But, all of this nonsense is moot because the transcripts show no quid pro quo, the Ukraine President said no quid pro quo, and no funds were ever withheld. All Democrats have is the idea that President Trump must have done something wrong. Note, the meuller report, “we can’t prove he colluded with Russia but we know he did.” Thank goodness for due process because frankly without, obama-hillary- and dozens of high ranking democrats would have been jailed long ago…..

    1. Joe Biden had nothing to do with whether or not Donald Trump attempted to interfere in the 2020 election.

      Think of it this way:

You’re out of town. Your neighbor across the street anonymously calls the police tip line to report that someone is robbing your house. The cops show up and find that your house has been ransacked and that your home security system has video of the burglars in action. The thieves are caught, charged, and put on trial. It looks like an open and shut case.

But the crooks demand (1) that the identity of the anonymous caller be revealed because they believe your neighbor was biased against them when she called the cops, and (2) that you must testify because while they were ransacking your house, they found evidence that your son has a drug problem, and they want to embarrass you.

In that analogy, you are Joe Biden, your neighbor is the whistleblower, and the thieves are Trump and his henchmen Rudy Giuliani, Lev Parnas, and Igor Fruman.

  8. President Trump, in his attempt to strengthen America and its prosperity after the domestic and international disaster that was Obama and in order to correct America’s relationship with a critical ally, was investigating a country fraught with corruption, Ukraine, as it courted Obama through the Biden family. Hunter Biden is allegedly and reportedly a perverted, incestuous, sister-marrying, “crackhead” philanderer who peddles “influence” to pay for his habits, having no discernible skills other than the lineage of his birth.

President Trump was investigating crimes of corruption, not political opponents. No one believes that the demented and incompetent sycophant and lifelong corrupt politician, Joe Biden, has a snowball’s chance in Hades of winning the presidency. The Bidens, Clintons, Obamas et al. are the very definition of corruption. President Trump should be applauded for his efforts at cleansing America of its corrupt bad actors.

    1. That’s not what happened, George.

Donald Trump doesn’t care about corruption at all. He wasn’t demanding an actual investigation. He was demanding the announcement of an investigation. Because he wanted to make Joe Biden look bad.

It worked against Hillary Clinton, after all. She was cleared of wrongdoing both in the case of her private email server and in the case of the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One. But both stories were used to smear her reputation, and that helped Trump squeak through to victory in the 2016 election.

      1. That’s EXACTLY what happened. Like all leftists, your pure hatred of Trump won’t allow you to accept the facts……you simply must have your pound of flesh because you are a hater. You fools never stop……you had ‘overwhelming’ and ‘irrefutable’ evidence Trump was a Russian actor, he colluded with the Russians, he ‘obstructed’ an investigation of a ‘crime’ when in fact there was no crime, and on and on. All lies. You people are beyond pathetic, and lend a lot of credence to the old saying that ‘liberalism is a mental disorder’.

        1. No David, that’s not right. Tossing out insults won’t make those false statements any more true.

Donald Trump does not care about corruption. He even asked his Secretary of State what it would take to get rid of the Corrupt Foreign Practices Act, which makes it a crime for an American to bribe a foreign official. His whole career is based on pay-offs.

And yes, Donald Trump did collude with Russia. Why else did he try to lift sanctions? Sanctions that were blocking him from the biggest project of his entire career, the Moscow tower?

          1. You are simply stating demo false talking points. All the criminal collusion is on the dem’s side.
Also, Hillary is not yet cleared by anyone. She is guilty of multiple felonies. She will be charged. President Trump will be relected and you will be sad.

            1. Anon always has a job selling University of Florida Alligator newspaper issues to students, that and wrestling alligators in the Swamp

  9. Sure, let Trump call the Bidens, and then call the whole Trump family and their Tax accountants. Call everyone that Trump ordered NOT to testify, and all documents that were held back. So yeah, call Hunter Biden.

    1. Fish, you keep getting more bad hash in your ObamaBong… find that safe place… relax. 5 more years of Trump is good for you, well, at least good for your Mama putting a roof over your head.

BTW, do you still wear your pink vag!na hat while you scream at the sky ?

    2. sorry, it won’t work that way

they’re competent is your other problem, a thousand times more than the bumbling biden jr

      1. sorry, it won’t work that way
        ______________________________________
You’re right it won’t work like that.

Hunter Biden will not testify. Just about every Senator has relatives that are working at jobs they got due to their connection to the Senator. They are not going to open this can of worms that might start a chain reaction of investigations of the relatives of politicians.

  10. The only reason to call Hunter Biden would be to support Donald Trump’s claim that he pushed for the announcement of a Biden investigation (although not an actual investigation, just an announcement) because he saw that as part of his duty to fight corruption.

In that case, the House should be allowed to establish whether Donald Trump has been consistent in fighting corruption, or whether he focused only on the Biden family. Relevant witnesses for this would include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner, all of whom seem to have profited by their connections to the President of the United States. This would also be an appropriate time to review Donald Trump’s tax returns. In addition, we should hear from Rex Tillerson about Donald Trump’s efforts to remove the Corrupt Foreign Practices Act: according to the new book “A Very Stable Genius” by Philip Rucker and Carol Leonnig, Trump told Tillerson that he wanted to make it possible for Americans to bribe foreign officials.

    1. You do know that book is a Dem prop up book. many lies, fabrications to support the impeachment. Verify facts before posting them in public.

      1. I know no such thing and neither do you. It’s a brand new book, published just today. Just because you don’t like what’s in it doesn’t mean it’s not true.

      2. Well spoken!….Facts take the stage for honesty. When dealing with the facts one’s opinion based on those facts become a tangible base for positive discussion and decision making,,,Think…it’s relatively inexpensive and always good for you!!

    2. Unless Schiff, and both Bidens testify under oath at the charade impeachment, anything else should be ignored.
Schiff already LIED to Congress with what he read as a transcript between Ukraine President Zelenski and President Trump and should be tried on that.
      FLOYD INGLE.

      1. No, Schiff didn’t lie to Congress. Here’s what he said immediately before reading his summary of Trump’s call with Zelensky:

“It reads like a classic organized crime shakedown. Shorn of its rambling character and in not so many words, this is the essence of what the president communicates.”

In other words, Schiff said right at the start that he was paraphrasing the call summary to make it immediately comprehensible for listeners. And most people believe he accurately conveyed the import of the call.

        1. “Schiff said right at the start that he was paraphrasing the call summary to make it immediately comprehensible for listeners.”
So Schitthead Schiff thought that he had to paraphrase Trump’s call (and he got it all wrong) because he thinks people are as stupid as he is and could not understand what was in the call.

                1. Soros pays you squat and yet here you are using multiple fake profiles from morning to night. Your kids must really hate you

        2. No most people do not believe he accurately conveyed the call and that wasnt paraphrasing he made it up to sound like a mob boss shaking someone down, schiff wasnt present for the call therefore he couldnt determine the emotion all he had to go on was the transcript and what he said did not even come close to matching that so quit BS us we are not stupid you all need to get that through your heads . Just because you spew it doesn’t mean its true

          1. that wasnt paraphrasing he made it up to sound like a mob boss shaking someone down
            __________________________________________
That was what he was trying to do

It should be obvious that Trump was trying to sound like a mob boss:
“We have been very good to you now its time for you to do us a favor”

But you have to be an idiot to believe that having the most corrupt country in the world investigate your opponent was the end goal.

The obvious goal of course was to trigger the very reaction and chain of events that resulted.

An investigation by Ukraine would be worthless, the goal obviously was to get the media and the Congress to investigate the Bidens. And that is now being done to death.

            1. Anon, tell us again what George Soros pays you to troll this blog? What is the benefits package like other than white hoods, VPN and doxing software?

              Go Gators

            2. Jinn, you keep getting more bad hash in your ObamaBong… find that safe place… relax. 5 more years of Trump is good for you, well, at least good for your Mama putting a roof over your head.

BTW, do you still wear your pink vag!na hat while you scream at the sky ?

              1. 5 more years of Trump is good for you
                __________________________________
If you could read you would understand that I said Trump is not guilty of what he is charged.

yes, he will be reelected if he doesn’t have a heart attack or stroke.

            3. Paraphrasing? Read the original transcript. Not the one Schifforbrains made up and recited to congress. Then look up the videio where qui pro Joe brags how he forced the Ukraine government to fire a prosecutor who was looking into Burisma. Or he would withhold financial aid.
Sheesh. Liberalism is a serious mental disorder. Seek help.

        3. In effect, Schiff was attempting to ‘tamper with the Jury’ by his improper attempt to make Trump’s telephone call into a Mafiosa type of conversation. That you believed his motive was pure speaks to your own bias.

            1. Trump’s telephone call into a Mafiosa type of conversation.
              _____________________________________
Well it was a mafia like conversation and since you didn’t get that obviously somebody needed to explain it.

Nobody needed to explain it to Zelensky he got the joke right away. Mr Z is truly puzzled about how Americans are so humor impaired.

        4. N, are you stoned again, or TDS is causing memory loss?

“There is plenty of evidence of collusion and corrupt co-mingling of work between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” Schiff said on Morning Joe

Show me the man and I’ll find you a crime.

          1. Schiff was correct.

For most of his 2016 presidential Donald Trump had a secret deal to build a tower in Moscow. That deal required the U.S. to drop sanctions on Russia. Trump hid that deal from the voters, even denying publicly that he had any business in Russia. That meant that Vladimir Putin had leverage over him.

And then when Trump took office, he attempted to lift sanctions on Russia.

            And that’s your collusion.

            1. For most of his 2016 presidential Donald Trump had a secret deal to build a tower in Moscow. That deal required the U.S. to drop sanctions on Russia. Trump hid that deal from the voters, even denying publicly that he had any business in Russia.
              _________________________________________

The problem with trump’s “deal” is he wanted the Russians to build the tower and pay for it and then trump would let them put his name on it. The Russians just laughed at him and told him to go away.

        5. Whenever you leftists make some claim of ‘fact’, you seem to always say ‘most people’ believe your version, without any proof or evidence of that whatsoever. Just the ‘fact’ that you would say something like that – “And most people believe he accurately conveyed the import of the call” – demonstrates that nothing you say should be taken seriously. What you should have said is ‘and most liberals who passionately hate Trump and have no interest in facts believe he accurately conveyed the import of the call’.

          1. Whenever someone uses the term “leftist” you realize he is an idiot. Lots of that daily here, have you met Alan?

        6. “In other words, Schiff said right at the start that he was paraphrasing”

No he didn’t. He didn’t use the word paraphrase or other words to make it clear that what he was reading was a lie.

After the fact and I think the news cycle Schiff admitted his guilt: ““My summary of the president’s call was meant to be at least, part, in parody. The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in and of itself.”

It was very clear what Schiff was doing. Schiff intentionally used the House as a platform to intentionally confuse the public and those that today still try to defend his actions seem to lack the ability to understand what Schiff was doing when he said: “The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem”

        1. N, did you complain with the Democrap controlled Senate let Slick Willie stay in office, even though there was DNA evidence he lied under oath, thus committed a crime ?

          Do tell.

            1. Was that before or after Ted Kennedy left a woman to drown after he drove off a bridge drunk off his white privileged ass, and failed to do any jail time, but called the “lion of the Senate”?

you guys are really toxic to our nation.

    3. N, you forgot to lead with other witnesses – Paul Pelosi Jr., Vanessa Kerry, Christopher Heinz, Tagg Romney, et. al. children of Democraps in power…

N , you keep getting more bad hash in your ObamaBong… find that safe place… relax. 5 more years of Trump is good for you, well, at least good for your Mama putting a roof over your head.

BTW, do you still wear your pink vag!na hat while you scream at the sky ?

        1. If you are proposing that it should be illegal for family members of politicians to profit from their relatives’ political positions, I would support such a measure, although I have no idea how it would not run afoul of the Constitution. But I want it applied consistently.

There is no evidence that Hunter Biden broke any laws. There is no evidence that Joe Biden did anything corrupt.

There is much more reason to believe that Donald Trump and his family have engaged in corruption, and on a scale never before seen in the presidency.

          1. No evidence of Hunter?? Only his father bragging on youtube! Are you that delusional?? Shall I get you the video?? It’s been plastered all over the news outlets, oh wait, not on MSM, he is their baby boy, but REAL news outlets such as FOXNEWS exposed the Biden’s for what they are, corrupt, disgusting Quid Pro Quo! Biden the bragger, withholding funds unless the prosecutor was fired…Quid. Pro. Quo. Get it now loser? Go drink some more Koolaid and get over your TDS!

            1. No evidence of Hunter?? Only his father bragging on youtube!
              ________________________________________
Bragging may show that his father is an idiot but
How does that video say anything bad about Hunter?

              1. Your commenting on here might demonstrate your computer has a connection to the internet, but how does it explain you are a real person?

serious question…don’t deflect, don’t mock, prove to us you are a real person..

    1. Marilyn, Tell us, how could you vote for a Rape Victim Attacker?

You do realize President Trump is the only POTUS to donate his salary, less $1, to the American people? (Not a charity his friends run)…

BTW, do you still wear your pink vag!na hat while you scream at the sky ?

  11. Nadler is the second most pathetic member of our government. Right behind Schiff! Bidens, or anyone else who profits from other nations while they or their family members serve ours is wrong and illegal. It is how turncoats are made.

    1. My list of scumbags is Schiff, Pelosi, Nadler, Jeffries, Jayapal in that order. The Biden Boys need to be investigated and thrown in prison after the guilty verdict. The only way they wouldn’t be found guilty is if they owned the court.

    2. Unless Schiff, and both Bidens testify under oath at the charade impeachment, anything else should be ignored.
Schiff already LIED to Congress with what he read as a transcript between Ukraine President Zelenski and President Trump and should be tried on that.
      FLOYD INGLE.

    3. I’m not sure how name-calling helps this discussion, but as for the idea that people shouldn’t profit from their or their family members’ positions in government, why is it that the Chinese government suddenly granted the Trump Org. a bunch of patents it had unsuccessfully sought for years only after Trump was elected to the presidency?

      1. Nobody can tell the difference where the Trump administration starts and where the Trump organization ends? They made a merger and the American people will pay for it.

        1. FishWings…are you for real??? Trump has nothing to do with the Trump Org at all. The minute he became Prez, he stopped doing business as. Learn something, you and N.E. are nitwits.

      2. You need to read and listen to the news more little boy, you are clearly confused. It’s called making a deal where other UNsuccessful and idiotic Presidents had no idea what they were doing! It takes a brilliant President that knows what the hell he is doing to be able to negotiate! Did Clinton, Bush or Obama step over the DMZ with Little Rocket Man?? I don’t think so! Read, learn, pay attention to FACTS and news, real news, not the fake MSM’s lies.

  12. Joe “Whataboutism” Biden is corrupt

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/20/joe-biden-corruption-donald-trump

“Middle Class’ Joe Biden has a corruption problem”

Democrats are trying to choose a candidate to beat Donald Trump, the most corrupt president in history. Some think nominating Joe Biden, a moderate white man who calls himself “Middle Class” Joe, makes sense.

But Biden has a big corruption problem and it makes him a weak candidate. I know it seems crazy, but a lot of the voters we need – independents and people who might stay home – will look at Biden and Trump and say: “They’re all dirty.”

It looks like “Middle Class” Joe has perfected the art of taking big contributions, then representing his corporate donors at the cost of middle- and working-class Americans. Converting campaign contributions into legislative favors and policy positions isn’t being “moderate”. It is the kind of transactional politics Americans have come to loathe.

    There are three clear examples.

First, Biden’s support for finance over working-class Americans. His career was bankrolled by the credit card industry. He delivered for it by spearheading a bankruptcy bill that made it harder for Americans to reduce their debts and helped cause the financial crisis. He not only authored and voted for that bill, he split with Barack Obama and led the battle to vote down Democratic amendments.

His explanations for carrying water for the credit card industry have changed over time. They have never rung true.

Nominating a candidate like Biden will make it far more difficult to defeat Trump
The simplest explanation is the most likely: he did it for his donors. At a fundraiser last year, Biden promised his Wall Street donors that “nothing would fundamentally change” for them if he became president. Now the financial world is raising huge money for his campaign. It clearly thinks he’s going to be its friend if elected. Most Americans, who get ripped off by the financial sector on a daily basis, aren’t looking for a candidate who has made their life harder.

Second, healthcare. On 25 April, the day he announced his campaign, Biden went straight to a fundraiser co-hosted by the chief executive of a major health insurance corporation. He refuses to sign a pledge to reject money from insurance and pharma execs and continues to raise money from healthcare industry donors. His campaign is being bankrolled by a super Pac run by healthcare lobbyists.

What did all these donors get? A healthcare proposal that preserves the power of the insurance industry and leaves 10 million Americans uninsured.

Third, climate change. Biden signed a pledge not to take money from the fossil fuel industry, then broke his promise. Right after a CNN town hall on climate change, he held a fundraiser hosted by the founder of a fossil fuel conglomerate. He is pushing climate policy that has gotten dismal reviews from several leading environmental groups.

Corrupt politicians always use whataboutism. With Biden, we are basically handing Trump a whataboutism playbook. The comparison won’t be fair, but if you think he won’t use Biden’s closeness to donors as a cudgel to try to keep people home, you haven’t been paying attention. Unlike Democrats, who must give voters a reason to come out, Trump doesn’t need voters to love him. He just needs to convince people the whole game is ugly.

      1. Anonymous, The Infamous Shill didnt post that. Nor does Shill care. Biden is as toxic as Trump and The Guardian has it right.

  13. What relevance does he have to withholding Congressionally mandated funds which has been found to be a violation of the Impoundment Control Act by GAO. What should be brought is any evidence of wrongdoing the POTUS was basing this decision on. My sense is that it is a Russian propagated conspiracy theory and has no truth to it…

    1. Trump wanted the Biden’s activities in Ukraine investigated as part of his responsibility to root out government corruption and make sure Biden had not done anything that he could be blackmailed for in the future. Biden voluntarily admitted his corrupt act on video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MySaVMV7dAo&t=6s), so there is already evidence that he did something unethical and likely illegal (it is illegal for a government employee to take official action that they or their relatives benefit from financially). So, the question is, what else did he do while overseeing Ukraine that was corrupt, illegal or that he could potentially be blackmailed for. This occurred when he was VP, before announcing his presidential candidacy. Trump wanted the Ukraine to publicly state that the investigation was going to be reopened so that they would be more likely to actually carry it out instead of ignoring it.
It seems the democrats have the same problem this presidential election as the last one……..their best candidate is a known crook.

      1. I really do not see why my taxes have been going to countries that hate us.
Unless Schiff, and both Bidens testify under oath at the charade impeachment, anything else should be ignored.
Schiff already LIED to Congress with what he read as a transcript between Ukraine President Zelenski and President Trump and should be tried on that.
        FLOYD INGLE.

      2. That video does NOT show Joe Biden admitting to a corrupt act.

Biden was executing the official policy of the U.S. government. The United States pushed to have the corrupt prosecutor Viktor Shokin removed, and we played hardball to make it happen. In this process, the U.S. was joined by both the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, because Shokin was NOT investigating what appeared to be obvious cases of corruption.

And Congressional Republicans at the time were entirely on board with the efforts Biden led. They wanted Shokin out too!

          __________________________________________
That is Biden’s story. But other than the Biden video, there is not much evidence to support the story,

The official story in Ukraine of why Shokin was forced to resign was because he had not investigated the sniper killings during the Maidan revolution. Biden was no where near Ukraine at the time Shokin resigned. There were IMF funds being withheld at the time Shokin quit but the conditions that Ukraine had to meet to get the funds released many months later had nothing to do with the prosecutor.

Looking at the evidence for the firing of Shokin it appears Biden bragged about something which he really had little or nothing to do with.

          1. Jinn, you are simply WRONG again… Ever been to Ukraine, much less Maidan square? I was there just before the shooting… You really have to stop Tokin’ hash in your ObamaBong.

      3. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MySaVMV7dAo&t=6s),
so there is already evidence that he did something unethical and likely illegal (it is illegal for a government employee to take official action that they or their relatives benefit from financially).
        ____________________________________________

There is no evidence that Biden benefited financially from the firing the prosecutor. Hunter Biden got the job before the Prosecutor got his job and long after he was fired. There is also no evidence that Burisma or Hunter Biden did anything illegal while he was a board member.

You would think Hunter Biden would want to testify and clear his name.

        1. Jinn, there you go again – “You would think Hunter Biden would want to testify and clear his name.” Really ? Seriously? You do understand the crack head is dodging child support? Not showing up in court as ordered ?

Put down your ObamaBong and sober up.

          1. ZERO experience Hunter admitted on a television interview that he had NO business having THAT job, and the ONLY reason he had it was because his name was BIDEN! Or, did you miss that interview on national television??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFlZPnS0gKc Still say he didn’t benefit financially or otherwise from daddy??? Or being a Biden???

              Yeah so?
What do you think Trump expected Ukraine to investigate? Nothing Biden did violates any law.
If Biden says those same things to the Senate that will come across as a giant nothing burger.

              1. “If Biden says those same things to the Senate that will come across as a giant nothing burger.”

Great, then everything will be cleared up in the Senate when Hunter testifies.

Biden won’t testify because there would be too many Senators wondering if their relatives with high paid do-nothing jobs are going to be next.

                  1. “Biden won’t testify because there would be too many Senators wondering if their relatives with high paid do-nothing jobs are going to be next.”

I won’t disagree with that thought since it is my belief that a good number of our legislators are crooks and self serving.

That being said it appears that in the Democratic Party the worst crooks are concentrated near the top.

      4. Trump wanted the Biden’s activities in Ukraine investigated as part of his responsibility to root out government corruption and make sure Biden had not done anything that he could be blackmailed for in the future
        ______________________________________________
You have to be as dumb as a box of rocks to believe that.

Ukraine has the worst record in the world at investigating government corruption and rooting it out.

        1. “Ukraine has the worst record in the world at investigating government corruption and rooting it out.”

That alone is a good reason to hold up any assistance and would be following another law I believe passed under Bill Clinton.

Whent thinking of “dumb as a box of rocks” you are the first one to come to mind.

          1. Treaty signed by Bill Clinton.
CDOC106TODOC16.PDF available at the Lib of Congress titled “TREATY WITH UKRAINE ON MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL MATTERS” gives the president authority to request Ukrainian assistance in the matter.

Consider this. Ukraine HAD an open investigation and HAD subpoenaed the board of Burisma Group. Biden being on the board created a problem. They were following the money trail and had found some bad things. They were told to drop the case because “WE” were on it and they were interfering with the US investigation. The Ukrainian PG was given a “untouchables list” by US reps. The PG is being slandered as a “do nothing” when he did in fact have an investigation open and was ordered to close it by our reps. The man sitting by Mr Taylor in the Schiff show signed a 2 page letter instructing the PG to drop one of the cases……….
Probably the treaty had more effect in closing the cases BUT Biden bragging about it on the tape drew attention to the matter. It was under investigation months before the phone call.

            1. Thank you G. It is this type of information that is forgotten by Anon, the Shill and others that like repeating their ignorance under a whole bunch of names.

If they didn’t lie so much they wouldn’t need to change their names so much.

            2. “TREATY WITH UKRAINE ON MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL MATTERS” gives the president authority to request Ukrainian assistance in the matter.
              ________________________________________
              No you are lying.
The treaty clearly states only the Attorney General can make such a request for the USA and only the Ministry of Justice can receive such a request for Ukraine.
              https://www.congress.gov/106/cdoc/tdoc16/CDOC-106tdoc16.pdf

              1. Along with not being truthful and intentionally deceiving Anon is petty. He says G is lying because “only the Attorney General can make such a request for the USA ” which is an outright falsehood. Very typical of Anon because his reading and comprehension skills are inadequate as are his skills in how the executive branch functions.

I won’t point out the exact wording which clearly demonstrates how wrong Anon’s statement is. He tries to waste the time of too many others by being untruthful.

              2. No you are lying. The treaty clearly states only the Attorney General can make such a request for the USA and only the Ministry of Justice can receive such a request for Ukraine.

We have a unitary executive, Gainesville. That’s a structural feature which isn’t and cannot be annulled by treaty provisions.

  14. I’ll just bet the Democrats are fighting calling Hunter Biden as a witness.

Any questions anymore that this is a poltiical coup and not justice at all?

Democrats have not accepted the results of the 2016 election. How are they going to behave in 2020? They seem to be getting up a head of steam to overthrow the government and install themselves. Look at how they reacted to losingi in 2016. Years of false allegations, and spying based on Democrat false intel.

    Vote wisely in 2020.

    1. And there’s the problem. I’m wagering ACORN types will be stuffing the ballot boxes like mad – mostly with absentee ballots filled out in the name of relict entries on the voter rolls. California, Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Philadelphia. Democrats play Calvinball. We may find ourselves in a position where no one really knows who has legitimate authority over public institutions.

      1. Absurd, none of your claims here bear any merit whatsoever. Yet naming Minnesota as a possible site of voter fraud is wildly bizarre. Minnesota arguably has one of the cleanest states government histories in the country.

        1. How soon you forgot how Al The Perv Frankin stole the senate seat from Coleman with a couple of bags of ballots ‘Found in a trunk” Please!!

            1. If Seth cared about women he would have sought Al The Perv Franklin nuts on a platter . But since you do not care about women then it follows.

        2. Right, because ACORN types have never done anything like that before. “Ballot Harvesting” didn’t change any outcomes after the last election, either. /s
You are either delusional or just an outright liar.

      2. “We may find ourselves in a position where no one really knows who has legitimate authority over public institutions”

Public and private institutions collapsed ages ago while on the watch, nay at the hands, of Baby Boomers.

You are waging a fantasy like Don Quijote against imaginary enemies. The enemy is us and that includes all of us.

Bloodsport is America’s institution. You play it admirably

      3. I intend to vote for Demonrats AFTER I die!
Unless Schiff, and both Bidens testify under oath at the charade impeachment, anything else should be ignored.
Schiff already LIED to Congress with what he read as a transcript between Ukraine President Zelenski and President Trump and should be tried on that.
        FLOYD INGLE.

        1. ” intend to vote for Demonrats AFTER I die!”

Sherree, a lot of people have voted for Democrats after they died though they didn’t do so willingly. It’s part of the Democratic platform that wants to permit illegals to vote along with dead people as long as the vote conforms with the DNC. That goes along with their chant ‘vote Democrat early and often’.

              1. Allan is talking to himself again. He is both Allan the Stupid and All-do/Fido The Brainless Wonder. He’s created some imaginary friends: They all answer to the name “Allan.”

                1. You and Allan ought to get a room and do each other until you resolve your Bromance. It has all of us on pins and needles.

can we at least be present at your ceremony? You have made us suffer with your lovers quarrels for months and its the least you can do to make it up to us

                  1. It seems you fancy yourself a matchmaker with voyeuristic tendencies. Get real. Anonymous the Stupid is already married to himself.

                  2. anonymous @ 7:55 am is utterly clueless

“you have made us suffer with your lovers quarrels for months” s/he wrote

clueless AND someone with way too much time on his or her hands

                    junior high stuff

    2. Well, speaking from my own experience with liberals, i have found with very few exceptions that they are wimps, cowardly, never been in a real fight in their lives, and either hate or are actually afraid of guns. Also, other experiences with our combat military – the ones who actually do the fighting – is that they hate liberals, and there is no question cops hate liberals. So how are liberals ever going to overthrow our government, especially when you also consider that there are tens of millions conservative American citizens that own and know how to use the guns, while the left is afraid of guns?

  15. Turley Not Dealing With Lev Parnas

Professor Turley offers 3 columns today addressing various aspects of the impeachment. All 3, however, portray Democrats as bungling and, or, disingenuous. But Turley has yet to acknowledge the highly mysterious Lev Parnas.

Parnas is that Ukrainian-born money-bunlder who grew up in Brooklyn and became a donor to the Trump campaign despite well-documented financial difficulties. Implausibly Parnas became a regular companion to Rudy Guiliani, the president’s personal lawyer.

Parnas, and his friend Igor Furmam, traveled throughout Europe with Guiliani on business that included stops in Ukraine. There Parnas and Furman assisted Guiliani’s efforts to undermine former U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.

Last week Parnas released a trove of documents and photographs to substantiate his involvement. Donald Trump claims he never met Parnas but the latter was photographed with Trump, the Kushners and Don Jr. What’s more, Parnas’ odd friendship with Guiliani is beyond denial. Rudy is even on record as referring to Parnas and Furman as ‘friends’.

Democrats most certainly want Parnas to be a witness at the Senate impeachment trial. His testimony would no doubt overshadow any appearance by Hunter Biden. Yet so far Professor Turley has yet to acknowledge the emergence of Parnas as a person of interest. Instead Turley quibbles with technicalities concerning statements by Democrats.

    1. The self serving document dump from Lev Parnas came after the impeachment and they’re not in a position to introduce that irrelevant stuff now anyways. that’s why its ignored. but you fell for the bait of thinking it matters.

        1. Seth, your blatantly biased opinions are already aggressively stupid, and dishonest. But that is the core problem with being a leftist. You cannot be honest and leftist at the same time or you would have to admit that leftist policies always lead to the end of human rights.

        2. They make a lot more sense than the fake articles of impeachment! Luckily nobody has to convince YOU. LOL! We’ll just watch Trump walk away when the Democrat drama is over.

        3. you can call it stupid seth but that evades the core point which is stated clear enough

a- irrelevant… not probative of any fact which tends to prove or disprove any issue in question
          b- untimely
c- the Senate is the court not only for decision but procedure. they can say whether these things will be admitted or ignored. i predict their decision on the subject will be IGNORE

that’s not stupid that’s a prediction and we shall see if i am correct or not. in a month you may apologize if you like,. have benson bookmark this conversation for you.

      1. Kurtz, the documents include corroborating texts and other evidence in support of Parnas interviews. It is completely relevant, coming from a central figure in the Trump Administration efforts to pressure the Ukrainians. Your post belies a purely partisan interest in ignoring evidence regarding what even JT has called serious charges.

    2. In Business, Everyone is your “friend”, you may not know or like them, but all potential customers are your potential “friend”. democrats don’t understand this because they work for the government and profitability is a horrible thing to require of the democrats

  16. What you see here is that the entire intramural culture of the Democratic Party is fraudulent, all the way down to the street level – that is, the partisan Democrats who comment here. It’s just a collecting pool of sentimentalists, dolts, crooks, and inveterate liars. What does a country do when half of its political spectrum is occupied by a criminal organization? We’re learning the hard way.

    1. you have to mass organize and then pull out all the stops at the right moment, hit them hard and make history with it

      1. Maybe a American version of the night of the long knives? That get rid of political enemies. Maybe some nice brownshirts and paramilitary members. What do you have in mind Mr Kurtz?

        1. I am thinking the situation may devolve into something more similar to the Chinese civil war prior to the Japanese invasion, where the peasants and workers among the core population revolt under the leadership of a charismatic leader who can relate to them just as Mao Zedong related well to the peasants and workers; who claim the heartland as their base for future victory.
