We have been discussing the hypocrisy in the response of Democratic politicians, media outlets, and many commentators in their response to the allegations of sexual assault by former Vice President Joe Biden as compared to their position against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. This has included an opposition to simply opening up the Biden papers for a search of any sexual harassment or assault allegations made against him. This has included statements from leading figures that they believe Biden did sexually assault Biden staffer Tara Reade but would still endorse him. None however have gone quite as far as Nation columnist Katha Pollitt who has declared that she would support Biden “if he boiled babies and ate them.” Biden has not issued any position on such infanticide but politicians have long opposed the practice since the demise of Cronus. Putting any humor aside, the statement does show how rigid and fanatical both sides have become in this election. While Democrats have long denounced Trump for saying he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, Biden supporters like Pollitt have said equally disturbing things about their blind loyalty. More importantly, this sense of a mission is manifested in much of the legal and media analysis that we have discussed on this blog on both sides of the political spectrum.
Pollitt joined others is saying that she simply does not care Biden raped a women in his office: “I would vote for Joe Biden if he boiled babies and ate them. He wasn’t my candidate, but taking back the White House is that important.” While she added that simply does not believe Reade, she stresses that it does not matter: “Whether or not you believe Tara Reade … you should vote for Joe Biden if he is the nominee. … We do not have the luxury of sitting out the election to feel morally pure or send a message about sexual assault and #BelieveWomen. That will not help women at all. Or anyone else.”
I have repeatedly said that I still fear that the record strongly favors Biden. During the Kavanaugh controversy, I maintained that women need to be heard and taken seriously in raising these allegations. I have also objected to those who would toss aside due process and simply accept accusations without investigation. Notably, while most are remaining silent and refusing to respond to media inquiries, some Democrats are now adopting that approach for Biden and, rather than saying that Reade must be believed, they are now saying that she must be heard.
Many Democratic politicians and commentators have struggled with the clearly hypocritical position of declaring Biden innocent while previously insisting that women “must be believed.” The problem is that, if you declare that no one has a right to be simply believed, it requires a full and fair investigation. However, Biden has refused to open up his records to look into any allegations of sexual harassment or sexual abuse by Reade or others. Thus, you can either declare Biden to be innocent without such a review of this papers as has Speaker Nancy Pelosi or you have to call for his records to be reviewed. The alternative is to just accept his guilt as a rapist (thus avoiding the need for an investigation in that and other claims) but say it really doesn’t change anything.
For Pollitt, believing women or standing against sexual assault is now a “luxury.” No doubt the same advocates will once again enjoy that luxury when a Republican is accused.
Yet, during the Kavanaugh hearings, Pollitt lashed out against “some of his defenders [who] seem to be saying that even if the allegations are true, it shouldn’t really matter.” She added “While we are thinking of how much responsibility men should bear for the deeds of their youth, let’s not forget the women who don’t get to put their past behind them—even when they are the victim of rape.”
It appears however that rape allegations “shouldn’t really matter” if the accused is a Democrat and an election is at stake.
The weird thing is that all the things Trump has been accused of being (which is what makes it so imperative to get rid of him even at the cost of boiling and eating babies), Joe Biden is. They looked so far up Trump’s colon they came out his eyeballs and they couldn’t find a trace of wrongdoing with Russia and/or Ukraine. Biden’s corruption in Ukraine is in plain view. When Trump said “grab ’em by the you know what,” (years before the 2016 election in a private conversation), it sparked women’s marches worldwide. When Biden is accused of actually having done that very thing except worse, crickets. They accused Trump of being mentally unfit to be President with Pelosi even demanding a psychological evaluation whereas Biden literally cannot finish a sentence. Trump is criticized for his tweets while Biden is constantly calling people names and threatening to fight them in parking lots. Love him or hate him, Trump has done a good job in the face of tremendous adversity. A Biden presidency would be like one long sequel to Weekend at Bernie’s. All I can say is I hope the Democrats come up with a running mate for Biden who can actually govern because I don’t see Biden making it through the first 3 months in office.

I have never met a Trump supporter who thinks he sexually assaulted anyone. They know him to be blustery, with a history of adultery, and rude. None of that impacts his ability to do his job, and he has worked harder than any president in recent memory to keep campaign promises.
On the other hand, I find Biden supporters with regularity who believe that he did sexually assault someone. There is no evidence that it occurred, while there is evidence that she told people it did, at the time.
If I had a nickel for how many times Democrats said Trump supporters support someone they know is a racist rapist, I would be a rich woman. Yet Trump supporters generally do not believe he is either racist or a rapist.
Ironically, many Democrats have come out proclaiming that they believe Biden is a rapist, but support him anyway.
Maybe they do maybe they don’t but given that Trump is indisputably a compulsive and promiscuous liar and braggart, his supporters are by definition morally blind – or are you going to say they know he lies and brags all the time but find those “qualities” endearing?
Politicians lie they brag about things they did or will do. I can remember a list of them from Obama, so suddenly you liberals forget that.
You know who else lies? The media. CNN would run wall to wall nonstop coverage if Trump said a racist idiotic insulting thing like Joe Biden did today. No doubt. Defense Lawyers May Seek To Reopen Cases In Which Tara Reade Was ‘Expert Witness’
Under the name Alexandra McCabe, Tara Reade has for years testified for the prosecution as an expert in domestic violence cases.
But a number of California defense attorneys are considering challenging the convictions of their clients amid questions about whether Reade misrepresented her credentials under oath.
Reade, the former Joe Biden staffer who recently accused him of sexually assaulting her in 1993, stated she had an undergraduate degree that her college says she never earned and appears to have exaggerated her role in then-Delaware Sen. Biden’s office, according to trial transcripts in two court cases reviewed by POLITICO.
Six cases involving Reade’s testimony are already under review by the 6th District Appellate Program, Executive Director Patrick McKenna told POLITICO Thursday. The state-funded office oversees appointed defense counsel in appellate cases covering four California counties, including Monterey County, where the prosecution often tapped Reade as an expert witness.
The review will determine whether the attorneys can petition a judge to review their clients’ conviction, and potentially order a new trial.

The lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, has been a leading plaintiff’s attorney of the #MeToo era. His firm is best known for bringing discrimination cases against Fox News — and its former star host Bill O’Reilly — and Harvey Weinstein, and his presence at Ms. Reade’s side gave her claims added legal heft.

He is leaving as her credibility is coming under harsh scrutiny. In the C-SPAN footage, Biden, who was running for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 1988 election, answers a question about his academic record during a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
“I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my class who had a full academic scholarship,” Biden said. “The first year in law school, I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class. And then decided I wanted to stay, went back to law school and, in fact, ended up in the top half of my class.”
Biden also claimed he “graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school.”
“I’d be delighted to sit down and compare my IQ to yours if you’d like, Frank,” he said.
Biden graduated from Syracuse University’s law school in 1968, but not in the top half of his class. He also did not receive three undergraduate degrees. And, according to a September 1987 Newsweek report, Biden didn’t attend law school on a full academic scholarship, either.
In a statement published in response to the Newsweek story, and covered by the New York Times, Biden said his “recollection of this was inaccurate.”
“I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont (N.H.) event was intended to refer to these majors — I said ‘three’ and should have said ‘two,’” Biden said in the statement, according to the Times.
Biden graduated 76th of 85 students in his law school class, and Newsweek reported that Biden had attended Syracuse on a half scholarship based on financial need. The Democratic candidate did not directly dispute the reporting, but he said that he also received money from the school itself and the Higher Education Scholarship Fund of Delaware.
“I exaggerate when I’m angry, ‘but I’ve never gone around telling people things that aren’t true about me,” Biden told the Times.
We reached out to the Biden campaign for a comment, but they did not provide one on the record.
In his 2007 autobiography “Promises to Keep,” Biden addressed his comments on the 1988 campaign trail. He said he lost his temper because he was getting sick with the flu, and “it sounded to me as if one of my own supporters doubted my intelligence.”
“At a small campaign event in Claremont, N.H., I lost it. I shouldn’t have been there in the first place,” Biden wrote. “I didn’t feel any better afterward; what I’d said was a quick and stupid rant that I wished I’d never said. Worse than that, without realizing it I’d exaggerated my academic record.”
“Thank God, I thought as I left the event, there weren’t many people in the room to see my outburst.”

The American fertility rate fell again and is down to 1.705. The American Founders knew and understood that women make Americans…or not. Women either bear children sufficient to grow and defend the nation or there is no nation to defend or otherwise be concerned with. They understood that motherhood was a full time occupation including pregnancy, birth, nurturing and development of many multiple, good Americans. Women don’t need to vote. Women need to have babies. In the absence of childbirth, America imports its increasingly “fake” population.
