NBC’s Chuck Todd Repeatedly Airs Clip Previously Denounced As Misleading And Wrong

We recently discussed the false tweet sent out by CNN’s White House reporter Jim Acosta that mocked White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany for saying that “the science should not stand in the way of this.”  That quote was artificially clipped to leave the diametrically opposite impression from what actually said.  The clip suggests that McEnany was dismissing science when she was actually highlighting scientific work supporting the position of the White House.  While Acosta later sent out another tweet noting the real meaning and his colleague Jake Tapper corrected the false narrative on the air, Chuck Todd on Meet the Press decided to play the misleading clip not once but twice on Sunday. It was not just running an overtly misleading clip but defiantly doing so after other journalists have challenged the erroneous impression left by the clip.  The misleading quality of the clip clearly was not the problem but the appeal for Meet the Press.

Todd has previously had to apologize for misleading clips.

In Thursday’s briefing, McEnany repeated President Trump’s call for children to go back to school in the fall.

“The science should not stand in the way of this, but as Dr. Scott Atlas said — I thought this was a good quote, ‘Of course, we can do it. Everyone else in the Western world, our peer nations are doing it. We are the outlier here.’ The science is very clear on this. For example, you look at the JAMA pediatric study of 46 pediatric hospitals in North America that said the risk of critical illness from COVID is far less for children than the seasonal flu. The science is on our side here. We encourage localities and states to just simply follow the science. Open our schools.”

As noted earlier, she is clearly citing the science as supporting the position of the Administration. However, Acosta clipped the statement to make it sound like McEnany was dismissing the relevance of science:  “The White House Press Secretary on Trump’s push to reopen schools: ‘The science should not stand in the way of this.’”

The quote was McEnany referring to a scientific study and, right after the line quoted, McEnany said “The science is very clear on this.” She then two lines later added “The science is on our side here.” The entire quote was McEnany raising a scientific study that supports their position.  It is akin to a McEnany saying “National security is not relevant because the Defense Department report supports this policy” only to have Acosta tweet “The White House Press Secretary: “National Security is not relevant” in White House policy.

Tapper stood by the facts over the narrative when his colleague CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta repeated the same false narrative that McEnany was having an “alternative facts kind of moment.” Tapper responded: “If I could just say, Sanjay,. I think she was just trying to say that the science shouldn’t stand in the way because the science is on our side. I don’t know that all of the science is on their side- and certainly, this White House, their respect for science knows bounds, let’s put it that way, but I think that’s what she was getting at.”

As bad as that incident was, it is not nearly as bad as Chuck Todd ignoring the controversy and the correction to repeatedly air the same misleading quote. NBC was fully aware that the clip was not just misleading but that it conveyed the opposite of what actually was stated in the press conference. Todd showed a clips of people denying the need to wear masks and stated that Trump is just ignoring the risks to push to open schools.  He then showed the clip of McEnany that is edited to cut off her reference to scientific data, making it sound that she was saying that the science was not important. The clip was played a second time later in the show. Unlike Acosta, Todd did not later even add the fact that McEnany continued on to cite the scientific support for the policy.  He just left the misleading clip without any clarifying context.

If an ill-considered tweet is a venial sin for Acosta at CNN, this is a mortal sin for Todd at NBC. This was no careless tweet, but an airing made long after the false account was flagged during the CNN controversy.  It is another example of how the echo-journalistic model not only undermines the faith in the media but actually undermines the effort to fully inform the public on the pandemic. Rather than focus on legitimate questions about the Administration’s efforts, Todd instead knowingly played a false gotcha clip.

I have previously criticized Todd for omitting facts that did not fit an attack on the Administration as well as his repeated disparaging comments on Trump supporters.  These is a fundamental change in the media where such shaping of facts to fit a narrative is now commonplace. Indeed, it is essential to maintain an echo-journalistic model.  The result however is the lost of reliable sources to unbiased news. Many disagree with this President and this White House, but they still want to receive an accurate account of what is being said and done in Washington. Instead, they are given news tailored to the preference of hosts who see facts as the a type of clay to be shaped into a preferred image for public consumption. There comes a point where you are not long informing but indoctrinating the public.

I was hoping that Todd would return to the earlier clips to offer some context to show that the clip was the opposite of what McEnany clearly meant. However, the show ended without any context, clarification, or correction.  This week, many of us praised Chris Wallace for correctly challenging President Donald Trump for misstating the position of Joe Biden on defunding the police.  Biden’s comment on shifting funds was widely defended in the media as not meaning that he would support the more radical calls to defund the police.  Journalists objected that the statement was taken out of context in the interview. I agreed with that objection. Yet, those same voices in the media are silent on this false account against the White House and Todd went further in replaying the clip twice on the air.

  1. News flash! Liberals fall into two categories: (1) the terminally confused and (2) people with zero integrity. You can read your own comboxes to see what that looks like.

  2. Chuck Todd was caught airing a heavily edited clip of AG Barr 2 months ago and was forced to apologize, but blamed it on the news team from what I recall. Just a simple mix up that he would never do on purpose. Just sloppiness, not malice, yada yada.

Those who doubted the sincerity of his apology have been vindicated.

It’s one of those things where either Chuck Todd is lying or stupid (or both I guess) and neither are tolerable. He can’t be fired because it would make Trump look right about his views on a dishonest and biased media, so we’ll get the ostrich effect many and others will use very creatively tortured logic to defend him.

    The beat goes on.

  3. Shifting funding IS defunding the police. The President was correct. Calling it by another name does not change the offence.

BTW, Chuck Todd is a soulless twit.

  4. McEnany saying that ‘the science’ backs the White House’s argument to send kids back to school is the nonsense that is being targeted here. Agreed that NBC is targeting McEany’s Trumpian lie in a cavalier manner, but that doesn’t negate the fact that McEnany is spouting nonsense. There is no science that argues that kids should go back to school in the US. Kids are going back to school in some nations based on statistics. It is a ‘crap shoot’. If kids start getting sick, they will be back at home-not science. That kids are going back to school in ‘peer’ nations reflects upon the proven facts that these countries are more socially disciplined, have a better functioning system of governance, and do not have incompetent leaders. In this country we have a dysfunctional system of governments that range from competent to imbecilic. The statistics prove that in states where the Governor is incompetent, such as Georgia and Florida, the cases of Covid-19 are on the rise. In states where the Governor is strong and competent, such as New York, what was previously out of control, is coming under control. This is not a case of science but of competence in government. For McEnany to compare the US to other more competent nations has nothing to do with science, other than the science of Trump to inject Lysol, etc. Perhaps Turley should focus on the idiocy, lies, and corruption that is the Trump administration. For the most part, Turley seems obsessed with bushwhacking critics of this disgraceful and incompetent regime.

Turley is defending idiocy by quibbling about the fact that reporters have always been and will always be biased. Read and/or listen to Foxnews for some rabid bias, racism, bigotry, ‘science’-nope.

    1. Issac:

I assume that you are retired, because only a retired person would be so cavalier about the misery that the looming depression will bring to American.

Depression means a lot of deaths due to neglected health care, poor nutrition, and suicide. Even if we ignore the widespread misery coming.

Consider what you are recommending and show some awareness.

Re steps required. Why ignore the experiences of Sweden and Germany?

      Cuomo. “… strong and competent…”?.

I have to question whether your statement is due to willful ignorance or mendacity.

You lost a lot of credibility with that statement.

      1. Sweden was and continues to be a failure. Germany was and continues to be a success. Sweden opted to continue life as if there was no virus. People went about their routines unprotected. The numbers of cases and deaths rose dramatically, so dramatically that Norway, Finland, and Denmark closed their borders with Sweden and refused to open them when the cases in their countries subsided. Norway, Finland, and Denmark opted for social distancing, masks, and stay at home. Germany, as well, opted early on to stay at home, wear masks, and social distance. Along with these precautions the more successful countries instituted systems of testing, tracing, and isolating well before most other countries. Japan enhanced its infrastructure of central health control and tested, traced, and identified where the problems were. The US was and continues to be late to the game. The statistics spell this out clearly. The US did not come to be the worst of the worst in deaths and cases by accident. The basic flaw in the US system is its national hubris. Too many Americans argue ‘my country right or wrong’ instead of looking for solutions. Add a completely incompetent President and America is number one in virus cases and deaths. As for the rest of your nonsense it appears that you listen to and believe Trump, exclusively.

        1. “Sweden was and continues to be a failure. .. Sweden opted to continue life as if there was no virus. People went about their routines unprotected. The numbers of cases and deaths rose dramatically”

All false. Swedes took nearly all the same measures as every other country in the world – including Germany and the US.
The fundimental difference is they did so voluntarily. C19 is nearly burned out in Sweden and Sweden can be sure of something that other nations can not – that C19 is not likely coming back.

If you are actually correct and there is some policy based reason that Germany fared better than Sweden then Germany still has large numbers of vulnerable people and C19 can flare up again any time.

The fundimental difference between Norway and Finland and Sweden is that Sweden – like the US has large elder care fascilities and when C19 got into those, large numbers of people died. Elder care in Norway and Finland uses facilities more like group homes.
“Norway, Finland, and Denmark opted for social distancing, masks, and stay at home.”
The swedes did the same VOLUNTARILY.

“Along with these precautions the more successful countries instituted systems of testing, tracing, and isolating well before most other countries. ”

BS – testing, tracing, …. are only effective as means of trying to stop the disease close to the borders. Once it has infected 10’s of thousands of people testing is almost meaningless and tracing is impossible.

No country in the world has had a testing regime that has found more than 1/10 of all infected people.

“Japan enhanced its infrastructure of central health control and tested, traced, and identified where the problems were.”

Japan and other asian countries have ALWAYS been highly suspicious of China – particularly on health issues.
They are geographically close and even the flu will hit Japan and other asian countries from China long before a vaccine is available. Japan, Tiawan, Singapore all have had in place long before C19 very effective measures to identify, trace and thwart ANY disease coming from china – their survival depends on it.

          This is not knew.

“The US was and continues to be late to the game. The statistics spell this out clearly. The US did not come to be the worst of the worst in deaths and cases by accident.”

Interesting but False. There is no difference between the US as a whole and Europe as a whole.
Most states in the US – particularly the red ones you are ranting about have done better than Germany.
Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, UK have all done worse than the US – just as NY has done abysmally bad.

If you are going to make comparisons – make apples to apples comparisons.

“The basic flaw in the US system is its national hubris.”
It is that hubris that won WWII, that is why we have more nobel prizes per capita than anywhere else. It is why we are 1/20th the worlds population and the third largest economy. It is why no country with more than 10M people has a higher standard of living, and very few smaller countries do.

“Too many Americans argue ‘my country right or wrong’ instead of looking for solutions.”
          Mind reading an entire nation.
” Add a completely incompetent President and America is number one in virus cases and deaths.”
False – the US has about 10K/million – that is the same as europe and there are atleast a dozen nations with higher rates.
Though the meaning of cases/million population when we KNOW that 90-95% of all cases are never detected is meaningless.
The US death rate is about 400/million – the same as europe as a whole and again not even close to the top. Again Belgium, France, UK, Italy, Spain are all higher – some much higher.

Aparently your idea of Europe is Germany.

“As for the rest of your nonsense it appears that you listen to and believe Trump, exclusively.”

Nope – I actually deal with facts – not Trump, not the media and certainly not idiots who are still selling the collusion delusion.

The fact is that arround the world C19 statistics can predicted to a high degree of accuracy by demographics and latitude – not policy.

Blue stats in the US have done far worse than red. I could crow ideologically – but the FACT is that read states are more southern, less populace and with few exceptions have much younger populations.

The red states that the left and the press are crowing because they purportedly are “spiking” – are not having rising death rates.
And even if they were – would have a long long long way to go to reach the deaths/million of NY or NJ

Barring a sudden spike to 50K deaths in TX, NY will have by far the highest deaths/million in the country. ‘

If you are going to condemn Trump – are you going to hang Cuomo too ?
Yet from what I hear the left is lionizing him.

And if Red states are spiking – what is happening in CA ? They have been locked down forever, and still most of the new cases and most of the new deaths are from CA.

Actually look at the facts – real facts, as they are not through the lens of your ideology.

They experts throughout the world have been WRONG.

But we should be past experts. We have LOTS of data now. we can KNOW what worked and what did not.

So please using DATA show me what worked ?
You say Germany locked down and social distanced and masked.
So did NY, and NJ. Why were the outcomes different ?
You say Germany moved faster – but the facts do not support that. NY moved just as fast, if not faster.

Myanmar has an incredibly low number of deaths per million,
Do you think that is because they locked down and social distanced ?

Or do you think it is because they are isolated from the world.
Or because people die there and no one notices.

The death rate on the Channel Islands was 30 times greater than the US. That on San Marino 4 times greater, Belgium 2 times greater.

          1. “Swedes took nearly all the same measures as every other country in the world – including Germany and the US.

The fundimental difference is they did so voluntarily. C19 is nearly burned out in Sweden and Sweden can be sure of something that other nations can not – that C19 is not likely coming back.”

That seems to be the fundamental point that so many people are missing. CV19 WILL continue to kill those that it can kill. Social distancing and masks might help delay that harsh reality, but it will sweep through the population and get anyone who is medically compromised (usually the very old and sick). As such, pretending that we can hide in basements until it is gone doesn’t make any sense when compared to other very large and very real problems that a shutdown of a society generates.

            1. “pretending that we can hide in basements until it is gone doesn’t make any sense”

Reminds me of Poe’s Masque of the Red Death.

            2. There are things that could have been done to protect the actually vulnerable until this passes,

But doing so required grasping something fundimental – you can not protect everyone – and trying to do so INCREASES the risk to the most vulnerable.

Masks, Social Distancing, isolation – buy time.

If you buy time for everyone – you change nothing.

If you let this go through the rest of the population while buying time for those at risk, you increase the odds this will bypass them.

    2. Isaac………..pray tell us how the Dems justify the killing of unborn babies with the science we now have about those unborn babies?

    3. McEnany cited a specific study. But beyond her cite there are many others.
And beyond that there are facts that by every measure C19 has far less impact on those under 20 than even the Flu.

We can debate shades, but there is zero doubt that C19 is not even to the level of the Flu for those under 20.

We do not close schools for the flu. We should not close schools for C19.

We should not have closed them in the spring.

McEnany is correct, and you know it.

Trying to convert your ideology of preying on peoples fears is repuganant.

      1. Putting aside John’s now too familiar tunnel vision – kids go home to adults at night and the teachers can’t all be under 20 years old – this is none of Trump or McEnany’s f….g business except maybe where their kids go. I would think a libertarian would get that, if nothing else.

        1. And the kids come home – that’s important only if the parents are at risk but not if they aren’t and most parents are not.

For teachers who are at risk, I one thought is to have THEM zoom in and have a younger student-teacher be a proctor in the class. There are likely other solutions.

These all or nothing plans never work because they never meet everyone’s needs. So let’s do what we do know will work and needs to be done – have all the kids go to school with the exception of those who are medically compromised or those who have people in their household that do.

          1. And the kids come home – that’s important only if the parents are at risk but not if they aren’t and most parents are not.
            _________________________________________________________________________________
Really? How are parents not at risk. Even the kids are at risk altho the kds are at lower risk than their parents and grand parents.

Here is the thing that you may not have considered:
We know from the 1918 pandemic, which was allowed to run wild in the first wave, that in the first wave it killed mostly old people and those who had weak immune systems. Then it died back for a few months and then a much more deadly second and third wave occurred. In the second and third wave the death toll for the old was not high. The people most affected by the second and third wave were 20-40 years old.

What happens if you allow the virus to replicate trillions upon trillions of of times is that many more mutations occur and the mutations that affect the people who are passing the virus most often are the mutations that become the dominate form of the virus. Allowing the virus to replicate uncontrolled in a given population (children for instance) may be a recipe for allowing the virus to mutate into exceptionally powerful form against that population.

            1. “How are parents not at risk”

The data shows that the vast majority of health adults under 60 or so who get CV19 do not have an adverse reaction.

  5. JT:
I’m shocked that you’re shocked to find out only now that this guy Todd is a propagandist. The weasley ‘stache is the tell. The for sure to follow unheard apology sure to follow.

    1. I’m gonna take a wild guess that the “weasley ‘stache” is a feeble attempt by Chuckle T. at a Fu Manchu.

Don’t suppose there’ll be one of those “sonorous mea culpas” following the “…for sure to follow unheard apology sure to follow…” in there anywhere, eh?

That’d be the cherry on top.

  6. Last week, the White House press secretary said Chicago’s Mayor Lightfoot was derelict in her duties because of the gun violence in the city. She said President Trump was ready and willing to help. Mayor Lightfoot responded by saying, “Karen, watch your mouth.” This past weekend in Chicago, there were fifty people shot and six are dead. Yeah, I get Mayor Lightfoot’s priorities. I am sure Chuckles Todd talked about how crime is out of control in so many democrat controlled cities. Oh wait. Democrats don’t know anybody has been shot because the MSM have determined they don’t need to know and democrats are just fine with that.

    1. A Democrat alderman cussed her a month ago. over a month
turns out he was making a prophetic clarion call, counting the record level of murders on the streets of chicago since then

defund the police? well, the Democrat mayors have already told them to stand down– I guess they want the chaos. it’s a direct consequence of their negligent failure to provide local policing services. Even as they green light covid restriction violations by “peaceful protesters” engaged in riot, looting, vandalism, and arson

      https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2020/06/10/mayor-lori-lightfoot-lashes-out-at-alderman-for-illegally-recording-call-leaking-profane-argument-over-looting/

“During a conference call with all 50 aldermen on May 31 to discuss the city’s response to widespread looting, Lightfoot and Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th) traded profanities when he accused the city of being ill-prepared for the violence, and expressed concerns looters could start targeting homes. Looters pillaged shops throughout the city as peaceful protesters were taking to the streets on the last weekend in May in memory of George Floyd, who died as a police officer pressed his knee to Floyd’s neck for several minutes during an arrest on Memorial Day in Minneapolis.

Lightfoot did not answer Lopez’s questions in the call, prompting an angry exchange.

“It’s not something you ignore. This is a question that I have,” Lopez said.

That’s when the call turned profane.

“I think you’re 100% full of s***, is what I think,” Lightfoot said.

      Lopez was infuriated.

“F*** you, then. Who are you to tell me I’m full of s***?” he said. “Maybe you should come out and see what’s going on.””

  7. NBC, and media in general, is a propaganda outlet for the Democratic Party. They, the media, control the political narrative in the country and have one goal in mind – to takeover the country and establish a Marxist dictatorship.

  8. Chuck Todd couldn’t hold a candle to the fairness and decency that Tim Russert brought to the show, in fact slimy, classless Chuck Todd stinks it up week after week. MTP no longer has the reputation it once enjoyed when Russert was at the helm. Chuck Todd is nothing more than a former Democrat staffer/political activist with a chip on his shoulder and an agenda. Neutrality, fairness? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. He and his colleagues in the MSM are in service of only one unified goal: get Trump out of office, by any means necessary.

Let’s blow their dam MSM minds by reelecting Trump with an even bigger electoral win to include: Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Minnesota, and then some. Here we go. Let’s do this, people. Trump 2020 all the way.

    1. Chuck Todd really is just a gross political *hack* who is hard to watch or listen to. Gag me with a spoon.

      1. “Gag me with a spoon.” Haven’t heard that in a long time. Love it. 🙂

  9. It is well known that the MSM and the left lie and are ignorant of the facts.

If something supporting one’s viewpoint sounds too good to be true, one should question its validity. If someone or parts of the media lie all the time one shouldn’t believe them but first one has to get the facts and be able to prove a lack of credibility.

That is what Professor Turley did. That is one of the resons I stay away from information from people like Chris Todd.

  10. Todd is a perfect example of corporate control of “NEWS”. He’s there for one reason, to sell the “both-sides” story, that the handful of giant media companies want, no matter what side is telling the truth. And Todd has played “both-sides” with a stupid grin on his face for years. On a side note, I loved Chris Wallace calling out Trump on his lies.

    1. Have you ever seen a journalist/host/interview calling out Adam Schiff on his lies?

  11. the lies from CNN and NBC are not new. They are professional propagandists making an in kind contribution to the Democrat party. They have doing it for many years. It is only recently that they are being called to task, but by too few, too few.

  12. “There comes a point where you are not long informing but indoctrinating the public.”

Respectfully Professor, we passed that point long ago. We have endured nearly four years of propaganda, calculated to destroy President Trump and ridicule those who support him. Is it any wonder the polls show what they do? The fact that Todd and his comrades would do this, knowing now that it may well result in our next President being someone in the early stages of senility who is corrupt to the core tell us exactly who and what they are. Their morals and ethics make George Floyd look like a choir boy.

    1. We have endured four years of a blithering idiot for a President who lies without even knowing it. “I just make stuff up.”-Donald Trump as President, on record. Indoctrinating?-Trump rode to power based on nothing but lies and hatred. Obama is responsible for the economic boom and almost all of the decreased unemployment. Yet Trump spewed lies and disinformation that would make Adolf proud; and his dupes lapped it up.

Biden in the early stages of senility or Trump who has never been anything but senile. Have you listened to this buffoon suggest shooting up Lysol, explaining why his hand shook when he drank water, claiming to sprint down a ramp, etc., etc. Trump is a sick man.

      1. isaac– The amazing thing is I have friends who are intelligent but who fall for the same nonsensical propaganda as you– propaganda that is spoon fed to you daily by your minders in the media. “…shooting up Lysol.” You believe he said that? Well, here’s a news flash: he didn’t. Just like the White House press secretary never said we should ignore science but Chuckles Todd saw nothing wrong with knowingly lying about it. You really are an idiot and unfortunately, there are a lot more where you came from.

        1. I watched the primaries when next to nothing came out of that fish mouth but lies, exaggerations, and unwarranted blame. It was like listening to Chicken Little. America was at the top of a balanced upswing but for Trump and his dupes it was in decline, etc., etc. I got my info first hand from the lying fish mouth. I watched as Trump demeaned his opponents based on their looks, size, and even physical disabilities. It was disgusting. The real horror is that it appealed to so many Americans.

Todd is a biased reporter. Have you. read Foxnews lately. That’s the name of the game. So what. If you get your news from one source you must be a dupe. Read: BBC, Reuters, Washington Times, New York Times, Washington Post, and Foxnews, then think. Or, you can read BBC and Reuters and get the most balanced versions.

McEnany used science backing up unrelated happenings in much better run countries in her argument. That was simply stupid. But pay attention. Stupidity is a requirement if you’re going to support this regime.

As for ‘shooting up Lysol’, of course that is somewhat exaggerated but I heard Trump say that injecting these cleaning products should be looked into. However you water it down, Trump’s a blithering idiot to even come near to that. Add in his other lies and nonsense, then connect this circus to the millions of idiots that lap up his drivel, and you have what hopefully will get its walking papers in November. Biden in a coma is preferable to four more years of this disgrace.

          1. “Biden in a coma is preferable to four more years of this disgrace”

Uh, no he’s not. Is there anyone in their right mind who wants to vote a senile puppet into the Oval Office? No! What the hell is the matter with you. Of course this country wants Trump over Biden. Wake up, man.

          2. Biden is corrupt, corrupts, inept, dumb, pliable, manipulated, a plagiarist, a liar, and WRONG on most major issues, etc. If you compare how the Trump kids turned out to the mess that the Biden kids are – please tell us who raised a better family. Answer? Trump. There is no comparison. But you wouldn’t know it because the corrupt disgusting fake news media will not report on the FACTS about Joe Biden….or Joe’s corrupt brother, Joe’s sister, Joe’s son the crack addict who milked daddy’s office to the tune of MILLIONS, and then there the neice, the daughter….it goes on….how about the wife who insists she be referred to by the title “Dr.” so that dumb people on TV shows, like Whoopie Goldberg, actually think Jill Biden is a MEDICAL doctor!! which she is not! She has a doctorate in education, woop dee doo. OMG Isaac. Open you eyes, your ears, your BRAIN. TRUMP2020 ALL THE WAY!

          3. Pennsylvania Union workers are now admitting that Biden actually “scares” them now. Rightfully so. Why? Because voting a corrupt, incompetent, not very smart, puppet of the Left, puppet of the Establishment, into the Oval Office will be an enormously detrimental mistake for the country. No turning back if Democrats are given the power to blow up the filisbuster and ram their radical agenda down our throats. Vote TRUMP 2020!

  13. This conflict with Chris Wallace over defund is a semantics argument. The Brooking Institute’s David M. Rubenstein Fellow – Governance Studies. @SociologistRay explained,

“Defund the police” means reallocating or redirecting funding away from the police department to other government agencies funded by the local municipality. That’s it. It’s that simple. Defund does not mean abolish policing.”

Trump used the word defund and Wallace chose to use it to mean abolish. Trump never said abolish.

    1. If Biden had said “I want to defund all police”, Wallace would simply have told Trump that it doesn’t actually mean he really wants to defund them. That’s the beauty of it.

  14. Well knowing these people are never are held accountable there is only one solution….re-elect Donald Trump and elect as many congressmen and senators that will stand with his policies that will continue the healing of our country. And how about stop feeding the swine in all media brands by not watching , buying or supporting these criminals who are actively trying to destroy our country. Why is anyone even reading New York Times or any of the other known fake socialist rags? Oh and how about removing mindless drones of anti-American slop from your own towns and cities. It would be a start of true reform…hopefully not too late.

  15. Mr. Todd is a notorious liar. He will tell the truth, only if it suits his agenda.

The fools are the Pinkos, who knowing that Mr. Todd is a liar, continue to accept his”reporting”.

  16. If CNN is your only source of what you consider “real” news, you never watch Fox. You never heard anything but the out-of-context quotation.
True scientific experts qualify the hell out of their opinions. True experts do not ever say “science says.”
Science says: 250,000 people may be the final death toll no matter what we do. Other science says: The virus will disappear over summer. Other science says: group immunity is the only way. Still others say: Everyone under 65 should behave as they always have during flu season. More scientists say HCQ+ works. Others say MATH+ protocol works. Others say: Kids cannot be carriers. Others disagree. “SCIENCE” IS NOT AN ORACLE. Mother Nature is the oracle of truth. Just as with all oracles her answers are always true yet often misleading. We developed the scientific method to separate the misleading chaff from the wheat. It is not about consensus. “Consensus” is how politics works, not science.

  17. No surprise here. The vast majority of the host and commentators on CNN and MSNBC are unprincipled, biased hacks speaking to their audience and trying to move the pubic opinion dial..

  18. This is deliberate deception, pure and simple. NBC, CNN, Todd and Acosta should all be held responsible for the countless lives that they have damaged.

  19. Consider how the media covered the Duke Lacrosse case, Ferguson, Trayvon Martin, the Russia hoax, and this fraud should come as no surprise. Thank you for calling it out.

    1. You’re forgetting BLM, the Covington Catholic student ‘harassing a native American’, and the Jussie Smollet hoax.
