Elderly Asian Woman Attacked On New York Street . . . Security Guard Responds By Closing Door

New York City Police are searching for this man who attacked a 65-year-old Asian woman in broad daylight in Midtown on the sidewalk on West 43rd Street near Ninth Avenue . The video below shows a man inside a building just a few feet away watching the attack. Like others, he does nothing. One person who did act was a security guard who walks over and closes the door.[Update: The NYPD has arrested Brandon Elliott for the crime].

The New York Post reported that the suspect yelled anti-Asian statements while he beat the woman, including, “F—k you, you don’t belong here.”

One man stops undoing packages to watch the entire attack without intervening. Then two building security officers appear to walk over and close the door. The Post reports that the guard insisted that he was unaware of the attack. However, he could at a minimum clearly see the woman in distress on the ground.

The New York police department has recorded a 1,300 percent increase in hate crimes against Asian Americans during the pandemic.

  1. It’s time for neighborhoods to self-organize. What was de rigeur for America a century ago will become so again. The government does not do its job, but the people can.

In respect of Chinatowns, the “New Righteousness and Peace Commercial and Industrial Guild” is still out there, and perhaps it should look up from its rackets and regain some legitimacy with neighborhood defense. Again, they have to look up from their money making activities, first.

This phenomenon is not limited to them, either. We all should be come more supportive, and protective, of our local communities.

      1. Wealthy bad guy were already able to bail themselves out.

If someone is too dangerous, they simply should remain in jail pending trial, ineligible for bail, regardless of income. Otherwise, there is no reason for people who haven’t been convicted of a crime to be in jail pending trial.

  2. It’s strange how an assault by a black person on an Asian person leads to a white fragility pity party in these comments. Sad.

    1. @Brad

White fragility?? I am not going to burn down a city or riot because my feelings are hurt.

And if you are white and are about to be attacked by a dindu, just waive your “good white” card. Guaranteed to stop them in their tracks! And if for some reason it doesn’t, just remember that your beat down is a voice of the powerless and helping to promote social justice.

      1. You must be easily manipulated by the media if you believe riots take place because of hurt feelings instead of crass opportunism. The rest of your reply is a total non sequitur, but you got to have your little Two Minutes Hate, I guess. So emotional!

        1. @brad

Are you saying that your sacred minority pets who rioted last summer were motivated by opportunity instead of the a desire for justice?

And whether the rest is a non-sequitur or not, you ought to go to a heavily minority area and waive your “good white” bonafides and see how that works out for you.

        1. Her Name Is Lucia Whalen Bremer: 13-Year-Old White Girl Murdered in Broad Daylight in Richmond, VA Suburb By Black Male

We are not supposed to notice.

Those who do are immediately vilified as “racist.”

Meanwhile, we are supposed to celebrate every trivial achievement an individual who happened to be melanin-enhanced who was the first individual of color to accomplish a feat long ago established not just a white individual, but replicated again and again and again by white people.

But our society is said to be dominated by white privilege, structural inequality, implicit bias, and the historical legacy of slavery, where the daunting reminder of roads, schools, and streets (not to mention monuments) named after or honoring Confederate soldiers unites in suppressing little black boys and girls.

But for a little white girl to be murdered by a black individual is hardly news worthy of covering or immediately cause for condemnation of all black people in this affair (as we saw the fentanyl overdose of George Floyd instantly create in castigating all white people for the death of this “innocent” black individual).

In fact, it’s hardly news locally where it happened.

Her Name is Lucia Whalen Bremer. She was a white girl murdered by a black juvenile.

Her life mattered, too. But because she is white, the corporate press found no value in publicizing how she died or who murdered her, because the culprits death was not advantageous in promoting an agenda. An anti-white agenda…

Teenage boy is charged with murder of eighth-grade girl who was shot multiple times in Virginia, Daily Mail, March 28, 2021
A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting that killed an eighth grade girl in Virginia, after a day-long manhunt.

Loved ones identified the victim as Lucia Whalen Bremer, an eighth-grade student at the Quioccasin Middle School in Richmond.

She was shot multiple times on Friday afternoon at the Gayton Forest West subdivision and died at an area hospital soon after.

Police said the suspected shooter fled the scene immediately after opening fire and was arrested on Saturday afternoon about a half-mile away.

His name has not been released due to his age but he is said to be facing charges including second-degree homicide, possession of a firearm by juvenile, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the Henrico Citizen.

Bremer’s family, who run a local produce business called Liberty Tree Farm, announced her death in a Facebook statement on Saturday.

‘Liberty Tree Farm is saddened to report that our beloved daughter and joyful farmer, Lucia Whalen Bremer, was killed in a senseless act of gun violence on March 26,’ the post read.

‘Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts as we navigate the next few weeks.’

Henrico County Public Schools posted a photo of the slain student and said the community was ‘heartbroken and devastated’.

Quioccasin Middle School Principal Melanie Phipps released a heartfelt statement remembering Bremer.

‘Lucia was funny. She loved to tell jokes and made people laugh. She was an amazing public speaker, and you would just listen in awe as she spoke. Lucia was wise beyond her years. Talking to her didn’t feel like talking to a middle schooler,’ Phipps wrote.

‘Lucia was exceptional; truly one-of-a-kind. She was brave, hardworking, and kind to everyone. Her smile would light up the entire room.

‘In fact, her mother told me that Lucia’s name means “light”, which is just the perfect way to describe her. She radiated happiness, and she loved our school.’

Phipps said the school was preparing to hold a vigil for Bremer on Sunday. Attendees were urged to wear gray and white, which the principal said were two of Bremer’s favorite colors.

‘Our school will have an additional police presence on Monday, which we appreciate to ensure that everyone feels safe on what we know will be a most difficult day,’ Phipps wrote.

Friday’s shooting shocked the Richmond community and forced a nearby high school into lockdown.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear and anyone with information is urged to contact the Henrico County Police at 804-501-5794.

Police previously described the suspect as a younger black male who is 5’8″ and 125lbs.

Her Name is Lucia Whalen Bremer. She was a white girl murdered by a black juvenile.

          Keep lecturing about white privilege.

          Keep lecturing about white supremacy.

Keep lecturing about implicit bias, structural inequality, and the historical legacy.

If any of this existed, every white person in America would know a black male murdered Lucia Whalen Bremer.

But none of it does. Hence, few people know how Lucia Whalen Bremer lost her life.

RIP, Lucia. Your live mattered, even if we aren’t supposed to notice who took it.

    2. “It’s strange”

how you came to that conclusion in light of the black fragility party (attended by more self-serving whites than blacks) that went on all last Summer as a result of a single white cop assaulting a lifelong career criminal that died from a drug overdose.

  3. Oil and water do not mix. Emulsifiers are required to accomplish the mixture of oil and water.

America requires extensive and wholly unconstitutional political emulsifiers to mix “oil and water,” including, but not limited to, affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, rent control, social services, forced busing, minimum wage, utility subsidies, WIC, TANF, SNAP, HAMP, HARP, TARP, Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, “hate crime” laws, etc.

All the benefits and entitlements you parasites enjoy are unconstitutional communism.

    Don’t worry, be happy.

    Go home if need be.

Exercise freedom to provide for your own individual welfare because Congress may tax ONLY for “…general Welfare…” and the entire American welfare state of political emulsifies is completely unconstitutional.

  4. Horrible attack. It must be roundly condemned and the perpetrator caught and prosecuted. Also the bystanders, especially the building’s employees need to be identified and held accountable and either fired or out thru intensive training.

  5. Hm. Her assailant looks oddly not pasty. Could this mean, *gasp*, that neither melanin concentration nor place of progenitors’ birth are factors in much of anything whatsoever at all? Imagine. Could it be that people are just people, each with their own personal and petty grievances and personal virtues? Huh. :/ How on earth could all those woke college professors be wrong, with all the credentials they paid good money for (that in itself is at odds with their narrative, but probably a different conversation. ‘I’m edumacated because I paid my damn money!’)???

  6. But how can such a thing happen in a city that is widely regarded as a paragon of virtue and a shining example of a close-knit diverse community ? I thought NYC is the quintessential gold standard by which other cities both are measured by, and aspire to replicate!? Don’t they have the very best mayor, council, state legislator, and governor possible??

My little backwoods town in fly-over just can’t possibly compete with the morals, integrity, and virtue of NYC. Heck, way out here we generally treat others with respect and seek to uphold the definition of a “Commonwealth,” instead of “State.” I wish we could be as arrogant, hypocritical, and racist as the good citizens of NYC.! Man, wouldn’t it be nice if we all judged people by their outward, immutable appearance??

Maybe I should leave all these hayseeds behind, move to the Big City, and start assailing random people on the street. I guess I’d have to start with small steps first: I could just stand there and watch a brutal assault. Then maybe I could become a “security guard” and actively ignore the evil that’s *literally* on the doorstep. Yessiree, Bob: NYC sure knows how to run a city right!!

    1. Don’t be such a snob, Kydave. Your takedown of NYC is uncalled for. Have you ever lived there or visited? Ugly happenings occur in rural areas, too. Full disclosure:. I am also a resident of “fly-over” but I wouldn’t denigrate a place I’ve never spent any length of time in.

      1. I have spent time in New York and live very close to a HUGE city with major crime problems. Rural areas have nowhere close to the amount of crime per capita as occurs in urban areas.

        1. semcgowanjr: I didn’t say urban areas have a low crime rate; it’s common knowledge that a higher population density equates to more criminal activity. I merely felt compelled to defend Gotham from rustic righteousness.

          1. “Rustic Righteousness” ?????. Gee a wee little hurt over the rotten apple and it’s perpetual decline. I was born & raised in newjerkistaniland in the stench filled shadow of the rotten apple. So yes CRIME , thuggery , corruption is the mark of the sleazy city and the majority of it’s dwellers. Crime is the normal there…and it’s only become more normal under perpetual social fascist stewardship of the likes of IL Duce Cuomo and comrade murphy. I left that diaper stain of a region decades ago…NEVER GOING BACK. So if it’s rustic righteousness that piques you…. it’s city arrogance that piques us , along with all the filth that emanates from it.

          2. NYC’s murder rate fell dramatically but ever since Democrat Wokeness became the norm the murder rate Has spiraled upwards. It is making NYC unlivable.

            1. The Broken Windows approach to policing made NYC quite nice and safe. It has been replaced with Breaking Windows and the city is neither nice nor safe.

      2. @ Voice: Just from curiosity, do you eat locusts and honey and wear the camel hair and leather as your name sake? Honest question.

I have, indeed, been to NYC and thank the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob I was not there any longer than necessary. Sure, ugly things happen out here in Hickville. However, they are near-universally abhorred when they do, and not shrugged off and accepted as normal. The larger point of my post was that we (e.g.: the entire nation, not merely us hicks) are constantly: told how wonderful, virtuous, and refined our big cities–and especially NYC–are; told how the fly-over proles should seek to emulate big-city culture and population density either by consolidating all of their little one-stop-light villages into great and mighty cities (with all their incumbent wonder, virtue, and refinement), or abandon their meaningless rural areas and moving en mass to an enlightened urban center such as NYC, and; that its OK to belittle the backwards, uncouth rubes that choose to live “out there” in places many urbanites would struggle to find on a map that folds instead of asking Siri to find it for them. Did you mean to be ironic in your use of “snob?”

if you believe there’s a flaw in righteousness , I suggest you argue it with the Author of truth and life. Perhaps you’ll change His mind about it. As it is, I’ll stick to loving God and and loving my neighbor as myself. I don’t have a dim view of New Yorkers et al. because of any superiority I feel (I am inferior to all). Rather I look at them with sadness for the plank of condescension many feel when considering the speck of small town America’s “rustic” existence. You’re welcome to draw you own conclusion but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Even if that includes living in open spaces with dark skies.

  7. SJWs’ interpretation of the incident: the perpetrator internalized a “white supremacist” mentality, therefore the attack was a manifestation of “white supremacy.” Further, white supremacists created the myth of Asians as the “model minority” to deliberately demoralize African Americans.
Separately, I’m old enough to remember the tense relationship in Los Angeles and New York City between African Americans and entrepreneurial South Koreans, who self-exploited as “green grocers.”

    1. I remember a number of times when the rioting by “black” people resulted in the destruction of businesses owned/operated by Korean American — from years ago in CA to last Memorial Day in MN.

        1. My heroes are the men who said, “What the —-” and made America, the American Founding Fathers (see top of page).

Sometimes you just have to say, “What the —-,” and “…stop beating around the bush and get down to the bone.”

Sometimes it’s just finally time to stop talkin’ and start chalkin’!

Sometimes you just have to say, “Enough!”

Where’s George Washington when you need him, now that we are capable of grasping his true majesty?

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

          – Declaration of Independence, 1776

  8. Here’s the thing about statistics. Percentages don’t reflect total numbers. If you had 1 hate crime, and next year you had 2, then there was a 100% increase in hate crimes. NYC reported 3 anti-Asian hate crimes in 2019, and 28 in 2020. Yes, it increased, but 28 reports of anti-Asian hate crimes out of a city of millions is not a wave of anti-Asian sentiment.

Don’t be manipulated. Anytime you are given a percentage increase, always look up a total.

In addition, there have been a few narratives pushed by the NYT and the rest of the legacy media, namely that there is a rash of white supremacy anti-Asian hate crimes, and this is the fault of Donald Trump. First, African Americans are actually more likely to commit an anti-Asian hate crime, compared to their percentage of the population. So…the 28 reported hate crimes were not the result of the Klan gaining a foothold in NYC. Second, it has been claimed that Trump laying blame for the pandemic at China’s door, or calling it the “Chinese virus” somehow leads to anti-Asian hate crimes. There is a montage of all the times that CNN and the rest of the Left media used “Chinese virus” or “Wuhan virus”…and it is extensive. They called it the Chinese, and then the Wuhan virus because that’s how diseases are typically named, for their origin. (Think Lyme disease). If calling it a Chinese virus would cause anti-Asian hate crimes, then CNN and the rest of the media uttered those phrases a great many times, and should share the blame. China is trying to squirm out of taking what would be very expensive responsibility for unleashing the Covid-19 pandemic on the world. It is looking increasingly like this virus escaped from their BSL4 lab, and that earliest cases had no connection to the wet market. Even leaving that aside, China indisputably kept the outbreak secret, even jailing brave doctors who warned the world. We owe a debt of gratitude to the brave Chinese people who defied the totalitarian Communist Party to warn us about the pandemic. But the CCP also owes the world for the mess it made and the deaths they caused.

The CCP is on full damage control mode. They claim that blaming them for their own actions is racist. Don’t fall for it. If America hid an outbreak from the world, and jailed doctors for warning about it, then there would be international outrage, sanctions, and demands for recompense. Do not let the CCP shirk its duty or lay the blame on anyone else. They are even ludicrously trying to blame the American military. This is pure propaganda meant to sway the weak minded.

    1. Same thing applies to drugs. Statins lower heart attacks by 34%!!!! In reality they are less than 1% effective. It’s funny math. If 1 out of 100 people not on statins dies of a heart attack over ten years, taking a statin cuts that 1% down to .66% (the difference between 1% -34%= 66%).

    2. I regularly identify this virus as the CCPvirus! If I believe the other person is dumb enough to not know what CCP means, even in the context of the virus, I identify the Chinese COMMUNIST Party!

  9. Refusing to help those in need is characteristic of totalitarian societies like Communist China. People are afraid to help because authorities might deem their actions as interference. There’s only one good thing about our increasingly lawless society, and I say this with great sadness: As lawlessness increases the need for lawyers decreases. In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth — whether in a courtroom or on social media — is a revolutionary act.

    1. People are afraid to help because communists (liberals, progressives, socialists, democrats, RINOs) have taken over.

    2. That was true of way too many people in Nazi Germany and Nazi-occupied European countries.
