Pro-Choice Protesters Post School Information on the Children of Justice Amy Coney Barrett

Despite the alleged attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the pro-choice group Ruth Sent Us descended upon the home of Justice Amy Coney Barrett and her family within 24 hours of the arrest.  Now, the group has posted information on where Justice Barrett goes to church and where her children go to school. It is another example of our age of rage. Indeed, it is an example of the rage addiction that has taken hold of many in the country where even potentially targeting the children of a judge or justice is considered fair game.

This is not the first time that the far left has used the children of Justice Barrett as political fodder. Barrett sat through days of such baseless attacks on her character, but even had to face attacks referencing her children. Ibram X. Kendi, the director of the Center for Antiracist Research at Boston University, claimed that her adoption of two Haitian children raised the image of a “white colonizer” and suggested that the children were little more than props to their mother.

During the recent protests, pro-choice protesters engaged in sexist and offensive verbal attacks on Barrett and her family. One protester dressed as a Handmaid declared “It’s also possible that the fact that she’s an adoptive mother is influencing her inability to see what it’s like to carry a pregnancy to term.” Justice Barrett has seven children and only two are adopted.

Yet, the posting of information on school of these children is particularly chilling. It shows how unhinged these people have become in their reckless and incendiary rhetoric.

It is a good thing that you cannot defame the dead under the common law.  Justice Ginsburg would have been mortified by this group using her name for such harassment of her colleagues. Ginsburg publicly denounced efforts to pack the Court and she was closest on the Court to her conservative colleague Justice Antonin Scalia.

We have had these moments before in our politics. Ironically, the prior abuse was directed at the left. It is now the signature of many on the left who have discarded any sense of civility or decency in attacking those who hold opposing viewpoints.

  1. Russia does not need to attack NATO countries militarily to cause problems for NATO countries. The refugee crisis, for example, is a problem for NATO nations, caused by Russia.

  2. Immediately after oral arguments in Ex parte Quirin (the German Saboteurs case), there was a vote of the justices, which affirmed the military tribunal, so that several defendants were executed within days. It wasn’t until months later that justices’ opinions were written and published.

Shouldn’t there now be an immediate vote of the court in the abortion case? Even if the opinions are not quite ready, doesn’t Quirin show that they do not have to be for the court to reach a binding decision?

Every additional day of delay before reaching a decision is a day when a justice can be assassinated.

    1. A person could be assassinated on any day of the year. That possibility does not change with the announcement of any decision.

      1. I was thinking it would be wise for the robed 9 to hand the ball to Congress for abortion policy, by scheduling Roe to sunset end of 2024. That would give the American people one election cycle, and one full Congress to take up responsibility for abortion policy.
The wisdom of this approach (if it works) is that the Federal Courts could extricate themselves from lawsuits that seek to change abortion policy from the bench. If they instead turn the states loose to fight it out, state vs. state suits will boomerang back into Federal Courts, and SCOTUS will look like fools — they will still be deciding whether abortion will be illegal vs legal in proxy suits.

  3. Anonymous notes:

“The founder of the People of Praise, a secretive charismatic Christian group that counts the supreme court justice Amy Coney Barrett as a member, was described in a sworn affidavit filed in the 1990s as exerting almost total control over one of the group’s female members, including making all decisions about her finances and dating relationships.”

    H.L. Mencken:

“One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected. …[This] convention protects them, and so they proceed with their blather unwhipped and almost unmolested, to the great damage of common sense and common decency. that they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.”

  4. Agreed, threatening family members is despicable. even if, as is the case of Barrett, she’s detestable. I’ll footnote this post of yours next to the one calling trump to task for using the media and his campaign representatives to threaten, harass and intimidate the election worker and her daughter in Georgia who he maintained illegally tampered with ballots….

I appreciated your re-visiting the topic when OAN broadcasted a full mea culpa on the subject…

Oh wait…, that wasn’t you. What was I thinking?

  5. I don’t believe any one should should follow children or threaten any one’s life . The anti choice gang has been doing this for years following women home from clinics, passing out addresses and license plates of patients, doctors, secretaries and others. Barrett and her colleagues have security but these women and men and their families don’t. But I do know that Republicans are allowed to do things that Democrats aren’t permitted to do. I understand that if a Republican puts target on someone’s face…no problem. Do it as a Democrat ….outrageous. Yep, Republican fascists are great but Democrats may only bow and salute the Republican dream of banned books, forced childbearing, women arrested for miscarriage and a violent attack on the capital. Yep, that’s the way it is.

  6. Joe McCarthy was right. Look around you. All you see are the manifestations of the principles of the Communist Manifesto. The last vestiges of the rights, freedoms, privileges and immunities of the Constitution and Bill of Rights are being wiped out and nearing extinction. Success and wealth creation are sins to communists who force people to share the misery.

The central planning of the government compelling the purchase of solar panels and electric cars, and the abandonment of ICE vehicles, impenetrable, inscrutable volumes of regulation of every person, “free enterprise” and industry controlling the means of production including “labor relations” when the sole arbiter of free enterprise is the owner of private property, pervasive affirmative action, “non-discrimination” laws, forced busing and “diversity,” etc., as social engineering and, can there be any doubt, massive, untold, innumerable trillions of dollars in redistribution of wealth.

Joe McCarthy was absolutely right and the incremental implementation of the principles of communism in America began when Lincoln worked toward “…the RECONSTRUCTION of a social world…” at the behest of his fellow ideologue, Karl Marx, ultimately resulting in the “RECONSTRUCTION Amendments” of Lincoln’s successors.

  9. ALGER HISS WAS MERELY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG

ALGER HISS WAS WELL DEFENDED BY FELLOW COMMUNISTS

HUAC’s efforts went beyond Hollywood. In 1948, Whittaker Chambers, a communist, appeared before the committee and charged Alger Hiss of having been a Soviet spy. Hiss had worked for the State Department and attended the Yalta meeting with Roosevelt. Chambers alleged that Hiss had given him secret documents ten years earlier. When Hiss denied the allegations, Chambers led the committee to rolls of microfilm, hidden in a pumpkin on his Maryland farm. Hiss was later convicted of perjury and sentenced to five years in jail.

    – HUAC
    ______

Alger Hiss (November 11, 1904 – November 15, 1996) was an American government official accused in 1948 of having spied for the Soviet Union in the 1930s. Statutes of limitations had expired for espionage, but he was convicted of perjury in connection with this charge in 1950. Before the trial Hiss was involved in the establishment of the United Nations, both as a U.S. State Department official and as a U.N. official. In later life he worked as a lecturer and author.

On August 3, 1948, Whittaker Chambers, a former U.S. Communist Party member, testified under subpoena before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) that Hiss had secretly been a communist while in federal service. Hiss categorically denied the charge and subsequently sued Chambers for libel. During the pretrial discovery process of the libel case, Chambers produced new evidence allegedly indicating that he and Hiss had been involved in espionage. A federal grand jury indicted Hiss on two counts of perjury. After a mistrial due to a hung jury, Hiss was tried a second time, and in January 1950, he was found guilty and received two concurrent five-year sentences, of which he eventually served three and a half years.

  10. The dark sarcasm of abortionists targeting “our Posterity”, excluded under the Twilight Amendment.

Roe, Roe, Roe your baby, your granny, yourself down the river Styx.

    1. The distributed “militia” (i.e. citizens), trained on their own time, their own means, their own practices excluding elective abortion, present under civil right and prepared to organize in order to secure Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness for “the People” and “our Posterity”.

  11. If the FBI is not at this moment tracking down the source of this vile intimidation of a SCOTUS justice, RuthSentUs, then the FBI is protecting a hate group with the connivance of the Biden regime and the Democrat party. Shameful and outrageous.

    2. Doxing is not illegal. That’s why the FBI won’t be involved. Plus Turley is correct. The justices have ample security.

You can thank anyone-abortion activists for championing the practice.

  12. Jonathan: You say the “far left” rhetorical attacks on Just Barrett “shows how unhinged these people have become in their reckless incendiary rhetoric”. Wow! For a guy who constantly complains about this age of “rage” you appear to be fueling it with your own rhetoric. So, let’s try to step back and try to engage in a more reasoned discussion to see why Barrett is under attack.

For starters, Barrett will join Alito in overturning Roe–a 48 year old decision that gave women, for the first time, the right to make their own reproductive decisions. Barrett doesn’t think Roe is “super precedent” despite the fact that millions of women have relied on Roe for decades when making a decision on whether to bear a child. Barrett’s views on abortion are shaped by her religious views. And what are they? Barrett is a conservative Catholic and member of “People of Praise”, a small secretive charismatic Christian sect that exercises almost total control over female members–from finances to dating relationships. It’s the “Handmaids Tale” in spades. People of Praise believes marriage should be between a man and woman. They oppose gay marriage. In 2012 Barrett, then a professor at Notre Dame, signed onto a letter attacking the ACA that required insurance companies to offer contraceptive coverage. In his draft opinion overturning Roe Alito, also like Barrett a conservative Catholic, said the decision would not affect other “rights”. Don’t bet on it. I think that given the right case both Barrett and Alito would strike down other “rights”–like gay marriage and the right to contraception.

Barrett is not just your ordinary conservative. She’s the product of a Christian movement that wants to turn back the clock to the 17th century when women had no rights. The vast majority of Americans support a woman’s right to choose. But Barrett wants to impose her narrow religious views on the majority. That’s anti-democratic and why millions of women (and their male supporters) are demonstrating–even in front of Barrett’s home. And opposition is coming not just from the “left” as you falsely claim. It’s not just a “left” or “right” issue. Even Republicans support the right of a woman to choose. On the front of the Supreme Court building is the inscription “Equal Justice Under Law”. That admonition was lost on Barrett when she joined the Court.

    1. Dennis says

“She’s the product of a Christian movement that wants to turn back the clock to the 17th century when women had no rights.”

Exactly what Christian movement is that? And what women’s rights are they looking to nullify? Their right to vote? Property rights? Work place protection laws, Title 9? Do you really think using such overstated hyperbole helps your argument?

“The vast majority of Americans support a woman’s right to choose. But Barrett wants to impose her narrow religious views on the majority.”

And what percentage of that that vast majority favor some restrictions on when a woman can get an abortion vs. what percentage that think there should be no restrictions?”

      “That’s anti-democratic…”

So how is it anti-democratic to leave abortion rights up to the states? Doesn’t that make it more democratic, in that it gives greater weight to sincere and equally viable differences of opinion on this topic that demonstrably vary by geographic location?

      1. Carpslaw asks:

“So how is it anti-democratic to leave abortion rights up to the states? Doesn’t that make it more democratic, in that it gives greater weight to sincere and equally viable differences of opinion on this topic that demonstrably vary by geographic location?”

If only gun rights could be left to the states and vary by geographic location.

        1. If only gun rights could be left to the states and vary by geographic location.

That is exactly what is happening. Gun laws by state and other sub government entities.

“Very by geographic location” since each State is defined by their geographic location, this bit is nothing but idiotic blabber.

          1. The 2nd Amendment does not permit the states to vary gun rights as much as the states will soon be able to control the right to abortion.

May I call you a “retard?”

          1. It would soon seem so unless years from now a different SC overturns this forthcoming decision overruling Roe.

      2. Carpslaw: Do I really have to do the research for you? The People of Praise describes itself on its website as a “charismatic Christian community”, part of the “Pentecostal movement”. It was founded in 1971 and, as of 2020, had 1,700 members. A small sect you will admit. “Anonymous” has a long description of the bizarre inner workings of the group. Not woman friendly!

As to your other Qs Barrett has expressed her opposition to contraceptive coverage under the ACA. Given the opportunity I think she would strike down that provision. Following her sect’s dogma she would also rule against same sex marriage as contrary to “God’s law”. On voting rights she would leave it to the states to determine who gets to vote. We have already seen how that is working out. In many states, particularly in the old South, the GOP is making it harder for Black citizens to exercise their franchise. It’s a throwback to the “Jim Crow” days. In her confirmation hearing Barrett said that “my personal church affiliation or my religious belief would not bear in my discharge of my duties as a judge”. Fat chance that will happen! Although her opinion in the Mississippi case will be couched in constitutional language it’s clear where her allegiances lie. She WILL impose her bizarre religious beliefs on all women.

And why not leave abortion rights to the states? The Roe decision has significantly improved the economic prospects of women, increasing their presence in the workplace, boosting their wages, and making it more likely they will finish college and avoiding the financial hardships that come with an unplanned pregnancy. Women now make up the majority at many universities and get more advanced degrees than men. Due in great part to Roe. If/when Roe is overturned in the coming days 26 states (a lot in the “old” South) will impose draconian restrictions on abortion or banning it entirely. But abortion won’t cease. Middle class and upper class women will always be able to obtain a safe abortion by traveling to another state. Poor women, especially Black women and other minorities, will feel the brunt most severely. The “back alley” abortion will be more frequent and many women will die. Is that the future you hope for in the name of “states rights”?

On the broader issue of national vs states rights there are many things we, as citizens, benefit from and expect. Have you ever driven across the country? I have–many times. We enjoy the benefits of a US national highway system that connects all states. If you stay on I-70 going through Kansas it’s a breeze. But if you get off at Wichita or Topeka, as I do to visits friends, you enter a much different world. The state’s local road system, especially in rural areas, is a disaster in many places. They don’t call Kansas a “flyover state” for nothing! And what about clean air and clean water? Should we leave that for states like Mississippi or Alabama to handle? And what about climate change? Do you really expect Mississippi to treat it as an existential threat to life on this planet? The point here is that some things require a national response that local interests might oppose. “States rights” was used to justify slavery and keep Black people from voting after the Civil War. Is that the kind of “states rights” you have in mind?

So I will ask you the Q. Why should the right to a safe abortion be any different than the other rights we enjoy as US citizens?

Jane’s Revenge – Night of Rage

May 31, 2022 – From The Anarchist Library 1,763 views

Within the month we anticipate a verdict will be issued that overturns Roe v. Wade, setting in motion an evisceration of abortion access across the so-called United States.

This is an event that should inspire rage in millions of people who can get pregnant…and yet, the response thus far has been tepid.

We have agonized over this apparent absence of indignation. Why is it that we are so afraid to unleash hell upon those who are destroying us? Fear of state repression is valid, but this goes deeper than that.

Your anger has been stolen from you.

To this we say: no more. We need to get angry.

We need the state to feel our full wrath.

We need to express this madness fully and with ferocity. We need to quit containing ourselves.

We need them to be afraid of us.

Last week, an evil creature slaughtered 19 children and two teachers in their classroom in Texas. While some may call this horrific act “senseless” or “random,” we know that’s not the case. We know that this was an act of male domination and patriarchal violence, meant to make women, children and teachers live in fear. We know it is deeply connected to the reproductive violence about to be unleashed on this land by an illegitimate institution founded in white male supremacy.

We cannot think of a clearer example in this time of the need for autonomously organized self-defense networks. We cannot think of a clearer example of the desperate need for those who can get pregnant to learn how to confront misogynistic violence directly. We also believe this unlearning of our self-containment can begin in the streets when we organize alongside one another to confront state forces of evil and domination.

Several weeks ago, we watched and waited as self-proclaimed “feminist organizations” and non-profits took the lead on arranging their demure little rallies for freedom. We were told to let them handle it, and to defer to the political machinery that has thusfar failed to secure our liberation. In a world where the news media has an attention span of about 24 hours on their best day, we knew these hollow gestures would fail to capture attention. We knew we were witnessing counterinsurgency in action. We cannot sit idly by anymore while our anger is yet again channeled into Democratic party fundraisers and peace parades with the police.

We were even told we must cooperate with them because they work alongside abortion providers and clinic escorts…a group of people who, at this moment in time, cannot possibly risk their lives or their livelihoods any further than they already are. We honor these providers and their service. We do not honor those who would use them as a shield against direct and militant action. We believe the greatest honor we could give them would be to act meaningfully in their name.

The time to act was decades ago. The next best time is now.

Whatever form your fury takes, the first step is feeling it.

The next step is carrying that anger out into the world and expressing it physically.

Consider this your call to action.

On the night the final ruling is issued——a specific date we cannot yet predict, but we know is arriving imminently——we are asking for courageous hearts to come out after dark.

Whoever you are and wherever you are, we are asking for you to do what you can to make your anger known.

We have selected a time of 8pm for actions nationwide to begin, but know that this is a general guideline. There may be other considerations involved in planning time and place. We do not claim to speak for every community or crew. We are simply calling out to you. And we hope you answer our cries.

To the cis male allies who would be interested in joining us in the streets, we say: you are certainly welcome, but you must use your privilege to shield and support us in a way that also enables us to get angry. Do not police us. Do not tell us what is and isn’t appropriate. But do aid us when we are in need.

We must also say: do not wait until the verdict arrives to organize.

Make plans now. Take action now.

It is not enough to share images on Twitter and Instagram (though that is still important to do). We cannot sustain this movement any longer with the same few hundred people who have been beaten down over and over again. We must not only circulate this call on social media, but reach out to communities who may not be in touch with “radical circles” online.

      Mass action requires mass outreach.

We would not be issuing this call if we did not believe in our bones that this kind of action is possible. We have witnessed the wom*n of Argentina, Mexico and Poland organize autonomously for their reproductive liberation. We know it can be done…but we need every soul reading this to do their part.

To those who work to oppress us: If abortion isn’t safe, you aren’t either. We are everywhere.

      Signed,

      JANE’S REVENGE

    3. Mothers may have rights, but they should be counterbalanced against the rights of fetuses. Roe is like Dred Scott. Under Dred Scott, slaves had no rights, and slaveowners had all the rights. Similarly, under Roe, fetuses have no rights, and mothers have all the rights. Fortunately, Dred Scott was only governing law for a few years. Roe has already been governing law for far too long.

  13. Democrats are Fascists fighting a civil war…again! When are Republicans and Independents going to fight back and Reinstitute the RULE OF LAW?

    1. What have Democrats taken off the Table…they are using everything to Destroy America! There is no rule of law…the DOJ and FBI are 100% Corrupt

    2. Yes.

The left is clueless to the fact they are writing the rules of engagement as we speak.

  14. Please remember that Nancy Pelosi always tells us that we must think about the children. I am breathlessly awaiting to hear her response in defense of the Barrett children. She likes the little kiddies when she thinks that they will bring her the vote. But she doesn’t care about the children when they’re 8.9999999999 months old after conception.

  15. Saying incivility in politics and threatening behavior started with Donald Trump is obtuse and short sighted. It’s been around for a long time on both sides with some periods worse than others. I detest it in either side. If someone is a judge or elected official then enforce the law and protect the individual and family. Irrespective of the party affiliation. This current phase of incivility has been building for about 30+ years.. the previous time was the 1960’s with JFK, RFK, MLK jr assassinated. Yearly summer riots in most major cities, a war raging in Viet Nam, student rioting and deaths from national guard shootings, a draft which drove many people to leave for Canada. A very wild and unsettling time. Reading about it pales in comparison to actually being there and experiencing it like I was and I suspect a few other participants here were also there.
The world neither started or ended with Donald Trump or Nancy Pelosi.

    1. Is it not high time the names and addresses of the members of “Ruth Sent Us” are posted on social media?

      1. Who amongst this wonderful group will object? No one because that’s ok because you don’t agree with them!
