Below is my column in The Messenger on the new information on “loans” benefiting the Biden family. It seems that no interest loans are the common practice for the Bidens. After this column ran, the House Oversight Committee released a new report of an additional “loan repayment” from James Biden to Joe Biden. The money again appears to have come from a transfer sent from one of the foreign sources in the Biden influence peddling scandal, CEFC China Energy Co. It is all part of the “Wonderful Life” at the Biden Bros. Savings & Loan.

In the classic holiday film, It’s a Wonderful Life, the Bailey Brothers Building & Loan Association faced a run on the bank by customers spooked by rumors of theft and insolvency. George Bailey held back the crowd, explaining as he pointed to individual customers: “You’re thinking of this place all wrong. … The money’s not here. Well, your money’s in Joe’s house. That’s right next to yours.”
As several Republican-led House committees follow the money in the Biden corruption investigation, that scene seems to be playing out in real life. It turns out that a kind of “Biden Family Building & Loan” operated under some of the same loose accounting systems, and some of the money was literally sent to Joe’s house or used to repair it.
In July, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released an unclassified FBI record which included allegations to the agency of Biden and his son, Hunter, being paid $5 million each by a Ukrainian energy executive when the senior Biden was vice president. Most of the media has shown an utter lack of curiosity in following the money. However, the House Oversight and House Ways and Means committees have made strides in tracking millions of dollars which they allege were sent to Biden family members through a labyrinth of shell companies and accounts.
The Bidens have been criticized for decades for influence-peddling. It is important to note that, while influence-peddling can be done legally, it is uniformly viewed as corrupt. For the Bidens, it also seems to be something of a family business. While Biden’s brothers and son had few discernible business skills to market, they did have access — to him — to sell. The problem seems to be that they burned through the proceeds as fast as they acquired them.
What is new now, according to House Republicans, is an emerging pattern of how the Bidens turned influence-peddling into the equivalent of the family’s personal savings & loan operation. Money moving between key family members was labeled as a “loan” in at least one instance, and Hunter has claimed other money as “loans” — a framing that not only offered plausible deniability but non-taxable income.
Two IRS whistleblowers, who testified before House investigators in July, highlighted the use of a loan allegedly to evade public disclosure and taxation. Hunter allegedly took large payments from dubious foreign sources and listed them as “loans,” despite no evidence of repayment or any standard loan agreement.
This month, House investigators discovered that, in 2018, the president’s brother James received two loans totaling $600,000 from Americore Health, which they described as “a financially distressed and failing rural hospital operator.” According to the company’s bankruptcy proceedings, it made the loans “based upon representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’” to new overseas investors. On the day he received the second loan transfer, James Biden sent a check for the same amount — $200,000 — to Joe Biden as a “loan reimbursement.”
What happened next was vintage Biden family: A Hollywood lawyer, who had just met Hunter at a political gathering, reportedly suddenly took over the repayment of that loan, with no explanation, and later reportedly paid for some of Hunter’s tax bills and living expenses as well. So, it appears that $250,000 went to Hunter, but the loan obligation was shifted to a Democratic political donor.
There is also a reference to another loan agreement with a Chinese company for $5.1 million. Notably, the loan was, again, “interest-free.” The source was CEFC China Energy headed by Ye Jianming. Text messages reportedly indicated plans for Joe Biden to meet with Jianming, who reportedly had close ties to the ruling Chinese Communist Party.
In addition to these loans, money seemed to move between myriad accounts connected to various Biden family members, according to House Oversight Committee findings. And we know from reports of some of Hunter Biden’s text messages that he complained about using money he acquired to pay for repairs to his father’s Delaware home.
None of this, however, appears to pique much of the media’s curiosity. Because the word “loan” was written on some of these documents, it is once again accepted by many at face value. In discussing a “loan” connected to one Hunter-connected company, Rosemont Seneca Bohai, IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley called this a classic tax-evasion move. He said that “when the money came back to him, he booked it as a loan. You then go on to testify that it should’ve been taxable as soon as it became income from Burisma to Hunter and whatever he did with it after that was really just a scheme to evade taxes for that year. You add that Rosemont Seneca Bohai did not book this as a loan, itself, so Biden is treating it differently than they did.”
Despite the Bidens’ denials about money, it seems to be everywhere and nowhere — metastasizing and spreading throughout the dozens of accounts, banks and family members identified by House investigators. Yet many in the media and most Democratic members of Congress appear to be firmly committed to assuring that all of this remains “a wonderful life” for Joe Biden and his family.

We should ALL care about people who cheat and use their govt positions to enrich themselves while selling decisions on American public safety, trade, or any aspect of our life. OT: Ken Hartz, the founder of Eventbrite, doesn’t get it based on the response to a Tweet. I looked at his company, and there is a good chance of this stock faltering badly. I would love to see stockholders personally sue him and his unbelievable arrogance. People should keep their money away from him.
This stock could head to zero, making it another wake-up call to the Woke.

Tuesday I heard an interview with a Rabbi (on Fox news, of course) who is in charge of a Jewish High School for boys. He is very concerned about the upcoming 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht, and what Hamas might do on that anniversary.

The most likely possibility here remains the firing of the prosecutor in Ukraine. Where are the documents Comer has demanded from the State Department on this?

It is now obvious that Biden lied three times in the debate alone, saying Hunter never received funds from China, that he himself never received funds from a foreign source and that the laptop was Russian disinformation. In addition he has lied repeatedly about not discussing his family’s business dealings with them. But lying is not an impeachable offense.

*Every* single Biden policy toward China is (at minimum) tainted by the quid. That includes: China gas, banking, real estate purchases in the U.S., the Wuhan lab “investigation,” sidling up to communist China, the coming cancellation of China tariffs, and (importantly) not banning TikTok (which is owned by communist China).
Here is a Hamas official saying they will never stop launching terrorist attacks against Israel until Israel no longer exists. Clearly, there can be no coexistence with such an organization. Israel stopping the war before Hamas is totally wiped out would be national suicide.
He doesn’t even yearn for a Palestinian state, but a state that encompasses all Muslims, and he wants that to be all people on earth. No other religion will be allowed to exist in his vision. The son of Hamas’s founder pointed this out before: they are against nations as such, because they want a worldwide Islamic caliphate. Their ultimate target is the whole world (including the Western Hemisphere – meaning us!), and for them Israel is the first stepping stone to that goal. If for no other reason, Israel is our ally in this fight, and we should support it to the extent we can as an act of our own self-defense.

Yes, Hamas has declared from its founding that Israel should be eliminated from “our land,” where Islam must rule Their objective has never been limited to a state on the West Bank and Gaza. He makes this apparent when he says he includes Israel as well as Gaza and the West Bank among his ambitions for rule. It is good to see this now stated so clearly.
Israel has concluded that its strategic objective must be to eliminate Hamas rule over Gaza and to destroy its capacity to launch attacks. I have not yet heard the US say that it shares this objective.
This is a long op-ed from the Times of Israel, but if you read nothing else, do read the last two grafs. Here’s your reason why we cannot let Hamas remain a force. Of course, the only way to do that is for regime change of their banker.

Oh, no, I didn’t see that. Thanks for linking to it. It’s long and has many subjects, so I’m not sure this is the time to delve into each one. We can go through them item by item in the future. But one thing is noticeable to me: Tlaib and Omar will not condemn terrorism in which Jews are targeted and killed. For her part, MTG has tried (unsuccessfully) to censure Tlaib for her anti-Israel statements. I’m not sure why an antisemite would want to censure someone else for being anti-Israel. Furthermore, American Jews everywhere are sensitized to where anti-Semitism is coming from with any force, and it’s not from the right, it’s from the left. I’ve seen many examples of this lately, and here is just one:

You should know that you’re swimming upstream when trying to convince people that their finely tuned senses are wrong. If I’m looking out a window and see it raining, you can link to 500 articles saying it’s not raining, and I’ll still believe it is because that’s what my own eyes are telling me. I’m sure you realize that’s an analogy. But it is analogous to you claiming that the major antisemitism problem today is on the right, and not on the left.

As for MTG, she attacks everyone she disapproves of, using whatever she finds convenient, so it’s totally unsurprising that she tried to get Tlaib censured. MTG attacked a fellow Republican Beth Van Duyne, who missed the censure vote, ignoring that Van Duyne was at a staffer’s funeral in TX; she attacked fellow Republican Chip Roy as “Colonel Sanders” and fellow Republican “vaping groping Lauren Boebert.” It doesn’t imply that MTG generally disagrees with their political views. MTG’s a nut. But she’s still posted more antisemitic commentary than Omar, which was part of my earlier point.
For the record, although I don’t think this is the case with MTG, many evangelicals are pro-Israel but antisemitic: they care about Israel because of the role it plays in the Second Coming, but don’t care about Jews’ well-being. On the flip side, you can also find many on the left who care about Jews’ well-being but disagree with actions taken by the Israeli government.

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but I’ve been hanging out with evangelicals for nearly 40 years, and never once have I found that to be the case. Their appreciation for the Jewish people stems from their Bible and Christ being Jewish, their understanding from the Bible that God chose the Hebrew nation from which to provide both his word and his Savior for the blessing of the world. They’re deeply interested in Jewish culture and customs as a way of understanding the meaning of the Bible better, and their support for Jews and Israel naturally flows out of the love they have for the Jewish nation in these respects. In the hundreds of Evangelicals I’ve known over the past 40 years, never once has it occurred that their only interest in Israel was in relation to the second advent of the messiah. I suspect you’ve read that on some liberal web sites and are repeating it, but you don’t really have any knowledge of that yourself.
Why don’t you start by asking them if they want the second coming and what will happen with Jews.
