MSNBC contributor and former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill has been one of the most vocal voices attacking critics of Joe Biden and opposing any investigations into his family or his policies. She attacked journalists and others who spoke in favor of free speech, calling them “Putin apologists” and Putin lovers. Now she is lashing out at the media for fact checking Joe Biden’s false claims . . . any false claims.
McCaskill called The New York Times “ridiculous” for a story correcting Biden’s false claims about the economy. She warned the media that they are only helping Trump by pointing out Biden’s false or misleading claims:
“What everyone says when you travel, ‘Well, you wouldn’t elect him again, would you? Hasn’t the country learned? You wouldn’t ever give this guy power again, would you? Tell us that he’s not going to be re-elected. Please, tell us you’ve learned your lesson.’ So The only blemish on the great country of America worldwide is, in fact, Donald Trump.”
She then added,
“Can I make a suggestion? I move that every newspaper in America quits doing any fact checks on Joe Biden until they fact check Donald Trump every morning on the front page. It is ridiculous that The New York Times fact check Joe Biden on something. I mean, he vomits lies, Trump vomits lies. And he, every day over and over and over again. And it’s just ridiculous that The New York Times is doing a fact check on Biden while they let Trump- they’re numb to the torrent of lies coming out of Trump’s mouth.”
It is that easy. Just stop fact checking. Of course, the media has always fact checked Trump with a certain glee. Such fact checks are a good thing and Trump has been legitimately criticized for many claims. However, McCaskill and others believe that the media must fall in line with the effort to reelect Biden.
The Washington Post previously gave Biden a rare “bottomless Pinocchio” for his false claims. According to McCaskill, that must stop at least until after the election. The public simply does not need to know such facts when democracy is at stake. It appears that ignorance is bliss when it comes to politics.
Of course, it was Benjamin Franklin who said “being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.”
Could the dems just start wearing arm bands and get it over with? The pretense, hubris, and frankly – malevolence – are maddening. I’m voting for Trump, lady.

McCaskill is just another zombie Democrat repeating talking points given to her by her handlers. Equating free speech with “Putin lover” is not only severely irrational, but a sign of the Cabal’s desperation. It’s all slipping away from them and people like McCaskill can’t handle the truth.
It is not that Biden lies.
It is the cherry picked information that they then spin that gets “fact checked.”
And when it comes to economic data, they are so desperate to spin it, it is all to easy to “fact check” it as false or “taken out of context.”
A job report comes out, and all they do is point to the headline number. But when you dig deeper into the report, you see it is actually NOT good.
And of course that headline number gets significantly revised downward later, but very, very quietly. It has for the past 11 of 12 reports.
Is inflation lower than what is was? Yes. But people look over the fact inflation is cumulative. And it was UP last month when it was expected to go down. And despite all their claims, we are still seeing higher prices at the check out line at the grocery store and at the gas pump. And in our utility bills. And for those paying rent there too.
These are all things that McMaskill would rather gaslight American’s just to get Biden re-elected. Denying Americans the facts and the truth for an election.
Some might call that election interference.
Upstate, your point about inflation is very apt. When “they” say it is down they are lying via stats. When it is up 3% that is 3% over last years 9% for a total of 12% since this malevolent force occupied the WH.

You nailed it! The economic numbers suck, when you dig into them. With CRE, I don’t know when that wave hits the shore, but the lockdown showed companies and people, that they could work from home. So why not? Middle manager types could be re-trained how to supervise in that new environment. Don’t online classes at colleges teach you that? That you don’t have to be on site. (Although I do think in person is better for some things, and I also think that online classes suppress minority education, because it requires good reading comprehension skills since you are having to learning by reading.)
So companies no longer have to maintain the same square footage, they will opt for less office space. Rents go down, vacancies go up, but purchase prices of office buildings were based on expected occupancy rates at certain prices. If occupancy goes down by half, you can not double the remaining rents, because those people will likely leave. I do not know how leveraged the average building is, but I suspect it is too much to just take up the slack by foregoing your planned profits.
The central issue is trust. You are not going to persuade people that things are good, when their own circumstances are not good, or when their own dread of the future is high.
There are excellent reasons to question the data supporting Biden’s claims of a strong economy,
But the real problem is that the purpose of data is to provide a foundation for our intuitive senses.
If the majority of people can not see daylight in their own personal lives or in their futures – you have a steep uphill battle convincing them otherwise.
This is compounded by the fact that the left has deliberately undermined public trust in institutions, and unintentionally though predictably undermined their own trust, by getting caught lying so much.
We have spent 8 years calling Trump a liar. But time after time Trump has proven correct. I recall Stahl on 60minutes fighting with Trump over his claim that he was Spied on, yet now we learn that the Obama administration sought and received the help of foreign clandestine services to actively spy on Trump and atleast 26 associates.
Calling Trump a liar – is a lie when YOUR claim is disproven.
But it is not only the lies about Trump that undermine the left, it is lies about themselves, and lies about pretty much everything else.

Reagan was able to say “Its morning in america” because he was tapping into a real perception of people. Because people understood that things were improving. Because after the bitter medicine needed to cure more than a decade of spending causing stagflation, people were seeing the sun rise in their own lives and had a sense they were on the cusp of the 30 years of prosperity that followed.
Today we are waiting for the other foot to drop. We are waiting on the next war in the mideast, or China to attemtp to invade Taiwan, or the next jump in inflation, or ….
Even Hitler and Mousollini had to actually competently run their countries – had to end hyperinflation, had to restore order, before they were actually trusted. They came to power because of the failures of those before, but they held power by delivering on their promises.

We were sold a bill of goods in the 2020 election with the MSM’s help. Biden was going to be the great uniter, the adult in the room. The laptop was Russian information. He was a nice guy.
