This week, I wrote about polls that show the public is not buying the apocalyptic predictions of the imminent death of democracy unless Kamala Harris is elected president. Now, a new poll shatters another main talking point of pundits and the press. Democratic candidates, including Vice President Harris, have denounced voter identification laws as “Jim Crow 2.0” attacks on voters. A majority of voters have long supported these laws. According to a new Gallup poll, that majority is now a supermajority.
Despite unrelenting attacks on these laws in the media, eight in ten Americans now support both laws:
With less than two weeks to go in the presidential campaign and voting already underway in many states, 76% of U.S. adults favor the concept of early voting. Two other election law policies are supported by even more Americans — requiring photo identification to vote (84%) and providing proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time (83%). …
Majorities of Americans favor a range of election law policies that expand voters’ access to the ballot box, including early voting, automatic voter registration, and sending absentee ballot applications to all eligible voters. They also broadly support measures to limit fraud and ensure election integrity, including requiring photo identification to vote and providing proof of citizenship when first registering to vote.
There are few major political issues today that could show this type of overwhelming support, including from Democrats. Yet, both the Democratic politicians and pundits continue to denounce these laws. Indeed, the campaign against Georgia resulted in their losing the All-Star Game and its economic benefits. Yet, under these laws, Georgia is setting records in the turnout of voters.
In the meantime, the Biden Administration is continuing to oppose and legally challenge efforts of states like Virginia to remove alleged non-citizens from their voting rolls.
Earlier this evening I was on Apple’s website looking at what it might cost me to get a new Mac mini and I ran onto a paragraph regarding trade-ins. Pay particular attention to what it says about in-store trade-ins:

Question: If it’s OK to need a valid photo ID to trade in your used Mac mini, why should there be any problem with having to present a valid photo ID in order to vote? Seems to me that voting is far more important, far more consequential than trading in a piece of computer hardware.

I don’t know whether we should be amused or enraged that (generally speaking) today’s Soviet Democrat party is enraged at the very thought of Voter ID and laws to secure voting and assuring voters of all parties that it is only legal voters doing so, and the election and voting process is secure.

America is becoming isolated in our voting practices. Our neighbors next door in Canada have paper balloting, voter ID – and absentee early/mail in voting – and can announce the winners of their elections on election night, with few exceptions. Mexico, a near third world nation to the south, has no problem with providing Mexican citizens a voter ID while requiring proof of Mexican birth, photo ID, and residency.
Most free Western nations can do the same, as can many other democracies elsewhere with free and fair elections. But we can’t do that despite our far more advanced infrastructure and massive federal election bureaucracy: we have Election Season instead.
We have courts that tell states they MUST keep Illegal Aliens on the registered voters lists – despite the fact that Illegal Aliens have committed separate felonies to be on those voter lists. Imagine that: judges not sentencing felons for illegally registering to vote – instead, protecting felons illegally registered to vote by requiring states to allow that felony to continue.
We have judges in battleground states saying that absentee ballots mailed after election day, without verified signatures, etc. MUST be counted.
What we DON’T have is any candidate or political apparatchik from the Democrat-Media Propaganda Complex that can make a coherent, rational explanation of why we must continue having such an unsecured voting system while other free nations have no problem whatsoever running clean, trustworthy elections.
I don’t expect to see any justification other than the unsupported claim “that will suppress their vote”.

I’ve seen numerous videos where someone with a camera goes into a minority neighborhood such as Harlem in NYC, and asks random people on the street if they know how to get an ID. They always do know, they tell the interviewer exactly where the DMV is, and they scoff at the idea that they would not easily be able to get one.

This issue is philosophically no different than what the Biden/Harris administration argued regarding their border policy. They dismantled policies that effectively opened the floodgates on our border and then blamed Trump and the GOP for the catastrophic results, because they blocked a “comprehensive immigration reform” bill. They chose to make the American citizens less secure in the process. Why?
Assuming the Democratic party leadership opposes the 80+% of Americans wanting these requirements on the grounds that it would disenfranchise “eligible” voters, they fail to acknowledge allowing “ineligible” voters disenfranchises eligible voters for every ineligible vote cast. They’re once again choosing fewer election security measures for the 80+% that want more, to do what, protect an extremely small percentage that cannot prove their citizenship or get an ID to vote? Since 2020 it has become crystal, no doubt about it, clear, that our modern left are a global and very much unelected cabal, and free people should very correctly want nothing to do with them. I voted early, which I disapprove of since voting should be done in one day. I was satisfied with the procedures, ensuring I was who I said I was (voter ID). Then, they had me sign the data, which included my address (legal responsibility). They handed me the ballot and had me sign for it (chain of custody). I went to the electronic booth to enter my votes. After that, the computer spit out my votes (paper copy), and I placed this card in the box that was visible to all (transparency).
A question that needs to be asked: why do some oppose the use of voter ID and secure voting? I wonder why criminals don’t want these measures. Can any Democrats answer that question?
The only thing missing was a large picture of Democrat leaders behind bars.

My wife and I moved a bit over a year ago, as I have stated before, and we are in a state with mail-in voting. They ways they actively discourage in-person voting are well, discouraging. I had no choice but to drop my ballot in a drop box, because I refuse to put it in the mail, and there are so many things wrong with this method I wouldn’t even know where to begin, the least of which is you can still go to your polling place on election day and vote again. In theory they track this stuff, but they sort it out ‘later’, and after 2020 that does not exactly inspire confidence. Anyone that says, ‘No! Mail-in voting is fine. Nothing wrong here.’, is a flipping idiot, IMO. I have never in my life prior to this not voted in person, and I *hate* it.
I tend to agree though with modern logic to a degree: the long lines on polling day would keep a large percentage of legitimate voters from showing up, our country is just too big at this point. Our population has literally doubled just in my lifetime. I’m actually fine with early voting if I can go to a polling place and actually put my ballot into the machine myself and see it was counted; this drop box boosheet has got to go, I don’t care what anyone says. It’s just fingers crossed, at this point.
And incidentally, for the third or fourth election in a row (not all national elections), I voted a straight red ticket, even though I am decidedly not a Conservative.
