Pulitzer Prize Awarded to Palestinian Writer Accused of Virulent and Antisemitic Commentary

The Pulitzer Prize has triggered a firestorm of criticism over its selection of Mosab Abu Toha as this year’s recipient for commentary. Abu Toha was specifically recognized for his commentary on Gaza despite being criticized for antisemitic and virulent attacks on those killed or taken hostage by Hamas. As we have previously discussed, the Pulitzer committee has long been accused of a far-left bias and awarding the prize for stories later disproven, including the Russian conspiracy claims.

Abu Toha wrote a series of essays in the New Yorker describing the ongoing war in the enclave. The New Yorker was not deterred by Abu Toha’s controversial attacks on the victims of the October 7th massacre.

HonestReporting exclusively ran some of these statements soon after the award was announced on May 6th.

On January 24, 2025, Abu Toha posted an attack on Israeli hostage Emily Damari:

How on earth is this girl called a hostage? (And this is the case of most ‘hostages’). This is Emily Damari, a 28 UK-Israeli soldier that Hamas detailed on 10/7… So this girl is called a ‘hostage?’ This soldier who was close to the border with a city that she and her country have been occupying is called a ‘hostage?’

Just to be clear, Damari is a civilian who was shot twice and abducted from her home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7. Like many in Israel, she has served in the military. However, she was shot and kidnapped from her home and held for 471 days. She lost two fingers and her wounds were poorly treated while she was held in deplorable conditions.

Abu Toha also attacked Israeli hostage Agam Berger in posts on February 3, 2025:

The Israeli ‘hostage’ Agam Berger, who was released days ago participates in her sister’s graduation from an Israeli Air Force officers’ course. These are the ones the world wants to share sympathy for, killers who join the army and have family in the army! These are the ones whom CNN, BBC and the likes humanize in articles and TV programs and news bulletins.

It also ignores the children and young people killed or kidnapped by Hamas. Indeed, Abu Toha has challenged claims on how Kfir Bibas (9 months) and Ariel Bibas (4) were killed by their captors. He posted February 21, 2025:

Shame on BBC, propaganda machine. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said ‘forensic findings’, which have not been seen by the BBC, suggested the boys had been killed with ‘bare hands.’ If you haven’t seen any evidence, why did you publish this. Well, that’s what you are, filthy people.

An Israeli forensic analysis found that the two small boys were killed by the murderers’ “bare hands.”  The calling of Jews and their supporters “filthy people” has long been an antisemitic trope.

In addition to attacking “Zionists” and mainstream media, Abu Toha also pushed false claims that Israel bombed the Al-Ahli Hospital on October 17, 2023. It was instead hit by a misfired Islamic Jihad missile. The reported deaths were also wildly exaggerated in the incident.

What is striking about this award is that it is a recognition of Abu Toha’s commentary specifically on Gaza, the very subject of these shocking claims. The award reinforces the view of the Pulitzer committee that it seeks to make statements with these awards, ignoring serious challenges over the factual accuracy or content of the work.

The award given for the Russian conspiracy claims is an example of how the story seemed just too good to check for the Committee. After the basis for the allegations were disproven and the Clinton campaign found to be behind the infamous Steele dossier, the Committee still refused to rescind the prize.

Likewise, a prior controversy arose when former New York Times reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for her writing on The 1619 Project. The work was heavily criticized by historians and others for some of its sweeping historical claims over slavery being a motivation for the American Revolution and labeling figures like Abraham Lincoln as racists. According to The Atlantic , Princeton historian Sean Wilentz criticized that work and some of Hannah-Jones’s other work in a letter signed by scholars James McPherson, Gordon Wood, Victoria Bynum, and James Oakes. They raised “matters of verifiable fact” that “cannot be described as interpretation or ‘framing.’” They objected that the work represented “a displacement of historical understanding by ideology.” Hannah-Jones was also criticized for her role in purging dissenting views from the New York Times pages and embracing absurd anti-police conspiracy theories.

The award given to Abu Toha has obviously outraged many in Israel, who are still awaiting the return of the rest of the hostages taken by Hamas. It is difficult to imagine that the Committee, in researching Abu Toha’s commentary on Gaza, could have missed his virulent attacks and false claims.

I recently spoke at the Library of Congress on the evolution of American media and the record low levels of trust with the public. This is an example of why the public is turning away from the media establishment in favor of new media and social media. As I stated in the speech, the media has become a happy ship of fools in refusing to change course as revenue and readership/viewership collapses. Instead, the public sees a press that has abandoned objectivity and neutrality.

This is an award for opinion commentary. However, it is precisely the unhinged character of those opinions that have made the award to Abu Toha so disconcerting for many.

  1. Sounds like the Pulitzer is like Hollyweird and the teachers’ union and academia – locked and loaded for Leftism. More and more I think of Leftism as a virus. Deadly and incurable. Meanwhile Republicans talk the talk but when it comes time to vote, there’s always a few that refuse to walk the walk (like O’Connell, Paul, etc.) Without Trump, Republicans will fade into the oblivion they have essentially inhabited since FDR.

    1. More and more I think of Leftism as a virus

You could also analogize it to a cancer. Take wokeism, for example. It first invaded the soft tissue (humanities, social sciences), then moved to the harder tissues (medical schools), then finally invades the bones (math and engineering). In the end, it kills the body. That’s the Left for you – ruining everything it touches.

    2. “Deadly and incurable.” My concern is what we do with the terminally ill that are infectious and free-roaming throughout our nation. A veritable army of Typhoid Marys polluting anyone spending more than an hour with them.

  2. Dear Prof Turley,

None of that remotely justifies the ongoing ‘genocide’ in Gaza.

The Pope, before he left this mortal coil, had a few things to say about it. Writing “what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of a genocide. It should be carefully investigated to determine whether it fits into the technical definition formulated by jurists and international bodies.”

*it is not ‘antisemitic’ or anti-Jewish to criticize Israel’s (U.S.) ‘war’ on defenseless women and children in Gaza.

        1. @SnogDwend: So far, he has been unable to discuss much less defend his position. He doesn’t know the history, the people, or the events. He only talks in generalities. Intelligence is not something he was born with, though he thinks he is a smart fellow, and some agree with him until they read what he writes; nothing. Everything he writes is a generality, a sure sign of an ignorant person.

Amazingly, this talking as$ uses the term genocide. He doesn’t know what it means. The immediate proof of his boneheadedness is that the ‘palestinian’ population in Gaza has grown threefold since 1948.

    1. I was waiting for a comment from his high holiness, “The Dalai Lama”

Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso, the highest spiritual leader and head of Tibetan Buddhism.

    2. Classic. When you can’t justify the statements you appear to agree with, change the subject.

    3. Respectfully disagree, DG. Dresden and Hiroshima, as horrible as they were, were necessary to preparing the Germans and Japanese to accept peace. This is the horror of war. When fighting fanatics, it’s not enough to make widows and orphans; you have to kill widows and orphans. Many conflicts in which we tried to win hearts and minds ended in abject humiliation. The people of Gaza chose war. They did. Let them eat the consequences.

      1. With all due respect Diogenes. The 2.2 million hapless souls in Gaza, most of them women and children (nor ‘Hamas’ – whoever they are), are not the same threat as Hitlers Nazi Germany or the Imperial Japs.

*I can assure you the people of Gaza did not ‘chose this war’.

        1. They voted Hamas into power and did nothing when Hamas murdered all the moderates. Proportionately, more Gazans voted for Hamas than Germans that voted for NAZI’s. In fact, a large majority of Gazans voted in Hamas.

        2. “I can assure you the people of Gaza did not ‘chose this war”

How stupid can you be? They chose to start a war by massacring partygoers. They have attacked their neighbor continuously, trying to kill civilians: women and children. When Israel left in 2005, leaving significant development, they destroyed it.

A terrorist told you that most of the people killed were women and children. That is how ignorant you are. It is well documented who was dead, and war historians say the death rate of civilians is the lowest of any war in modern history. Not only that, many of those killed were killed directly by Hamas or indirectly by Hamas missiles that failed to make it over the border. The rest were killed because they were used as Human shields.

        3. “whoever they are), are not the same threat as Hitlers Nazi Germany or the Imperial Japs.”

The Nazi’s tried to hide what they did. Hamas is different. With pride, they filmed themselves killing women and children and then having sex with them while they were dead. You are very stupid.

    4. It is antisemitic to lie about what is going on to make the Jews, especially the victims on 10/7, look bad. You can easily tell as story of Israeli aggression and discrete for Palestinian life using only verified facts. Going above and beyond with lies is just hate.

      1. Yeah, wait till the mosque falls in jerusalem and solomon’s temple is restored. Coming right up, Franke. Mohammed has his foot on the well of souls. It’s gotta go.

    5. Didn’t you realize years ago that the recently past pope was a major leader in this progressive madness that is destroying the world. I don’t celebrate the man’s death but I hope that the current Cardinals have the sense to save their religion by electing someone just the opposite of him. The so-called genocide of those inhabiting the gaza area are just receiving the karma that they and the rest of islam deserves. Islam has been a scourge on humanity since its inception as a military movement masquerading as a pseudo-religion.

      1. Islam . .. while Europe was in the throes of the ignorant dark ages, was the center of learning and science.

        *things change mama. ..

        1. recopying and translating plus a little mathematics and chemistry on the side does not a shining civilization make. Add in all the slaughter, enslavement, looting and occupations and it balances out in favor of a heavy-handed horde much akin to the Mongols under Ghengis. Stop falling for the propagandized notion of islamaphobia is a bad thing – it is probably what saved France under Charles Martel, Spain under the Reconquista and Vienna with the charge of the Winged Hussars. If anything, we should remember 9/11 with a renewed vengeance especially after Oct 7 and the putrid rise of antisemitism within our ossified academic bubbles of ignorance.

        2. Because Europe imported this nightmare.
If they don’t wake up soon, they will become slaves.

        3. @SnogDwend: ….And today the Islamic nations are filled with barbarians like Hamas. However, there is hope as a few of these nations have joined the civilized world.

  3. Turley, can you admit you support genocide and ethnic cleansing? That you hate Palestinians and don’t believe in free speech? I have not seen one article standing up for the rights of anti-Genocide protestors in the United States. Furthermore literally every critique you brought up of Abu Toha is misleading or false. Damari is an IDF reservist and was complicit in the blockade of Gaza. Israel has a documented pattern of attacking hospitals even shown in outlets such as the BBC and Reuters, have reported. In 100 years when the Holocaust of Gaza is studied, you will be recognized as a leading supporter. By the way-Arabs are semites since you are so ignorant of facts.

    1. Sounds like you’ve been indoctrinated by the disinformation coming from the liberal media.

      1. -a controlling liberal media.

How did this happen? Where did we lose that notion of balance and impartiality in our truth-seeking?
Were we blind or just too polite?

  4. So let’s see. You have an American who once served in the Army but is now a private citizen. He and his wife are taken hostage by Hamas and because he was in the army at one time Hamas is justified in ripping his wife and children from their home and holding them in an underground tunnel. Who thinks this way? The same people on this blog who say that Israel is lying when Hamas has openly returned dead hostages and displayed their return in the international press. Was the baby that was roasted to death in an oven a member of the Israeli Army. It’s hard to believe but it’s true that we have scribes on this blog that are defending this slaughter.
Please take note of one such defender of Hamas known as George is a prolific poster here on a daily basis and understand what it is that George is made of.

    1. TiT,
Well said and spot on. The slow and dumb one is what the face of evil is. This is the kind of evil that needs to be fought against.

      1. Satan has a laptop and is commenting here. His screen name is “George.”

        1. Oh so you did read my posts. How about a real rebuttal with real substance? Name calling is for the intellectually lazy.

    2. ‘Hamas’ is an ephemeral organization, with no known address or command structure. War on Hamas is like war on ‘terrorism’.

For all we know, Bibi Netanyahu could be the leader of Hamas .. . it wouldn’t surprise me!

      1. If they are so ephemeral then why did they conduct a terrorist attack on some 1,200 Israelis, rape and murder, take hostages? And they do have a command structure. This terrorist has family in that command structure, Who Is the Real Mohsen Mahdawi?

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a network of Palestinian armed groups, said that Masharqa was one of its “most prominent field commanders” in Jenin. The Israeli Defense Forces said Masharqa “took part in shooting attacks against Israeli communities” and was in a vehicle with Hamas’s leader in Jenin when they were killed by the Israeli military in August of 2024.”

  6. Making genocide a Left or Right issue is truly warped. The whole world is watching a brutal ethnic cleansing, and I hope this all ends soon, in The Hague and hundreds of military tribunals.

  8. All institutions move Left over time if not rigorously maintained. It is like entropy. Once them move Left, they are ruined. They give awards for evil, and criticize the good. That’s what has happened to Pulitzer. As Dennis Prager says, the Left ruins everything it touches.

    1. OldManFromKS,
Well said. Just look at what the left has done to women’s sports as an example of how leftists ruins everything.

    3. Support for Israel is not a Left/Right issue, and really never has. It does not fit into any liberal/conservative mold, which is rare but does happen with some issues. Hatred for the non-filthy-rich Arabs is a right-wing ideology.

  9. Isn’t it funny how they/Dem, when confronted by a position espoused, always either deflect the argument or resort to insults?

It’s like they run out of rational responses!

Not that anyone notices, certainly not them/Dem…

  10. We all saw the decline in the value of such awards as these institutions went more woke for the past 60+ years. The final nail in the coffin of these types of awards was the Oeace Prize given to obama.

At this point, these awards have the gravitas of an Oscar – who really cares – DEI mentality has destroyed yet another portion of western culture – much akin to that 12 ft tall, imposing statue of a confrontational “black mama” now adorning NYC.

      1. Not my problem that you gladly wear the progressive blinkers. I’ll wager that you did not notice biden’s obvious mental decline either. It must feel safer viewing life through the fuzzy haze of a cult.

        1. whimsicalmama,
Well said and spot on. They wear their absurdity like it is something to be proud of, while the rest of the sane and normal people laugh at them.

        2. But your decline was apparent from your very first sentence months ago.
You have zero proof I’m a dem or whatever. I respond to fools who can’t think and who try to be an intellectual. That you are not.
Cult huh? What about that old guy farmer, he’s trails you like a dog in heat.

          1. The predictability with which the progs always attack with vitriol but never facts. How predictable lol

            1. whimsicalmama,
Vitriol and insults are all they have. Things like the truth and facts are an anathema to them. All one has to do is look as see at their lower level elevator IQ, juvenile comments to see they have nothing but hate and rage.
              How marvelous!

              1. I imagine them as the frustrated, economically challenged biproduct of our infested and polluted media/education industries. They are not employable, for the most, and totally ignorant of their own ignorance yet they have been pumped full of their own self-importance and off they go to scold the world because they hold the “fake truth” in their little noggins and are quite satisfied with their contrived world view. What a waste of our national generations – if only they had not been poisoned with so much that was laid out right in front of our eyes by the likes of saul alinsky and his rules for radicals. Just imagine if those young minds hadn’t been polluted beyond repair; how they could be adding to our national treasures rather than destroying them with gleeful, yet angry, joy.

          2. Anonymous 10:05 am- Yeah definitely a democrat / progressive. Implies we are all fools and not intellectual. In other words, we’re deplorables. HEARD THAT BEFORE.

  11. Giving this person a Pulitzer Prize is akin to giving Tokyo Rose (or the many who played her role) and Axis Sally the same award as apologists for regimes that started a war and then suffered as a result of that decision. I’m sure the dead lying buried or undiscovered all across Europe, Southeast Asia, China or in that hull that once was the USS Arizona or in sunken graves across unnamed islands and anchorages would understand the plight of the Gazans and their apologists.
They started the war in 1948 after the UN General Assembly partitioned Palestine. Israel accepted the partition and set about creating a nation and government. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt attacked and lost and had sense enough to quit the fight eventually. Even the fanatics of the German 3rd Reich and Japanese’s High Command had sense enough eventually to quit.
After 77 years maybe the Palestinians and Gazans should realize that the time has come to quit.
After all, that area has been the Jewish homeland since approx 1500 BC. I don’t think they are going to leave. They are not perfect as we all are not perfect. We also all know that the longer a war lasts the greater the degradation of the humanity caught up in it.
As far as the Pulitzer Prize is concerned, you might find more reality and truth in a Marvel Comic. Less pretentious also.

So true, yet no-one wants to bring up the fact. Not a single Muslim country will take them, because of their trouble causing past.

      1. Dust off-That is changing and polls show that many Gazans are ready to leave. We should enhance that point of view. And negotiations are starting to bear fruit for acceptance of their move to other nations.

      2. Islam has been the scourge of every other nation since mohammed slithered out of his tent and created this pseudo-religion that is, in fact, a militarized cult of sociopaths. Find one nation in the past 1400 years that was happy to share a border with an islamic nation. We created our US Marine Corps for the sole purpose of fending off islamic Barbary pirates (the shores of Tripoli) and their ugly, cultish desire to rule the world under one caliphate says all you need to know about the value of this horrendous throng of jihadis. This abhorrence of islam is not limited to our own natural repulsion of the edicts of islam, it is shared by the rest of the globe.

        1. whimsicalmama,
Our translators in Afghanistan were decent for the most part. Flip side were insurgents who would brainwash some kid to strap a bomb to himself and blow himself up.

    2. Akin? No it is not, its gobbledygook.
What does your comment have to do with a Pulitzer Prize? Marvel comic, 1500 BC, 1948, Gazans … all over the map and history.

      Its 2025.

      1. Anonymous9:20 am – I am so sorry you have such a limited grasp of history and cannot pull in the ups and downs of history over the last 5000-7000 years. Obviously your payers for your troll account failed to account for your limitations and cut off your research backup. You need to study more. 2025 did not just show up. We all got here by history and everything we do has roots in the past. Sort of a basic foundation for logic, knowledge and progress. Trolls, of course, just spring up with little water or nutrition sort of like weeds. You need to take your daily dose of Roundup.

        1. Limited, you just make stuff up hope you don’t get called out. You are no intellectual. But a fool with a shortening lifespan.
Anyone you buys your nonsense is dumber than you.

    3. GEB: You forgot Lord Haw-Haw and that Adolf Hitler was named Time magazine’s Man of the Year in 1938. The Pulitzer prize is simply a badge awarded to those who wish they were, or ascribe to be, Kim Philby and the Cambridge 5 or Oligarchical self-aggrandizing despot activists cloaked as “socialists opposing fascism” when they are actually using “fascist tactics” (note the hordes of Brownshirts in the streets over the last 5 years) – so that their positions will be praised (or ignored) with the blinding targets of the searchlight they are using instead of the violence they are promoting and endorsing.

      1. Anonymous 9:15-sorry but I must plead space limitations and decided to not be all encompassing because my fingers get tired. Your points are well taken.

      2. Time magazine naming Hitler man of the year is different: their criterion is who affected history most significantly, for good or ill.

  12. Pulitzer, Nobel, Oscars, Emmys, Grammy . . . .just about every award has become so political, they mean nothing anymore. If the Pulitzer had an award show, 100 people might have watched it.

  14. Had the Putlitzer people done anything less, it would have been surprising. They have a history of awarding liars (aka disinformation, misinformation, malinformation propagandists) who minimized the killing of millions of people under Communists in Soviet Union, like NYT’s Walter Duranty.

New York Times Statement About 1932 Pulitzer Prize Awarded to Walter Duranty

Describing the Communist plan to “liquidate” the five million kulaks, relatively well-off farmers opposed to the Soviet collectivization of agriculture, Duranty wrote in 1931, for example: “Must all of them and their families be physically abolished? Of course not – they must be ‘liquidated’ or melted in the hot fire of exile and labor into the proletarian mass.”

Duranty’s prize-winning articles quoted not a single one – only Stalin, who forced farmers all over the Soviet Union into collective farms and sent those who resisted to concentration camps. Collectivization was the main cause of a famine that killed millions of people in Ukraine, the Soviet breadbasket, in 1932 and 1933…. “Conditions are bad, but there is no famine,” he wrote in a dispatch from Moscow in March of 1933 describing the “mess” of collectivization. “But – to put it brutally – you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.”

The Pulitzer board has twice declined to withdraw the award, most recently in November 2003, finding “no clear and convincing evidence of deliberate deception” in the 1931 reporting that won the prize….

  15. Prof. Turley fails to mention the biggest “miss” in the history of the Pulitzer prizes: the award to the Times’ Moscow correspondent Walter Duranty for his “reporting” on the Soviet Union in the early 1930’s. https://www.pulitzer.org/news/statement-walter-durantyhttps://www.pulitzer.org/news/statement-walter-duranty Duranty acted as a mouthpiece for Stalin’s regime., ignoring both the Hololmodor and Stalin’s “Great Purge”. voz.us/en/media/230827/7105/walter-duranty-the-new-york-times-journalist-who-won-a-pulitzer-for-covering-up-stalins-genocide.html The famous phrase “you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs’ is attributed to him when fellow Moscow correspondents confronted him about the holocaust in Ukraine.

  16. “ An Israeli forensic analysis found that the two small boys were killed by the murderers’ “bare hands.” The calling of Jews and their supporters “filthy people” has long been an antisemitic trope.”

Israel has had a history of falsifying evidence to justify their claims. Surely Turley wouldn’t be that naive. Bombing hospitals? The one example Turley uses is the only one shown to be a mistake by Hamas. But, he neglects to mention that Israel has bombed other hospitals and even attacked others while falsey claiming Hamas had tunnels underneath.

Turley attackingthe Pulitzer committe because it awarded an author who spoke about certain truths that Turley and others don’t really want to acknowledge seems more of a knee jerk reaction to anything critical of Israel or anything Palestinians have to say about Israel.

Again, even our own government wants to punish our own citizens because they chose to be critical of Israel or express support for Palestinians.

    1. George’s complaint is that Israel might be lying about how a NINE MONTH OLD BABY HOSTAGE was killed. That is evil! They stole two babies and held them and this Jewish hating guy is arguing about how they died. Evil!

      1. How is that evil? That there is reason to be skeptical of Israel’s claims?

They have lied about things like that before to gain the exact same reaction you are having. You can’t take everything Israel says at face value. Not when they have been caught lying about such things before.

You don’t seem to concerned about Israel shooting uanrmed Palestininan kids or that they use them as cannon fodder to search for booby traps in building. Of course you wouldn’t care. By your own standard you would be considered evil too.

        1. George lies in wait every morning to ring in his usual harangue.
Where would George be if he had not learned the word “disingenous?” Every day, like clockwork. Never an original thought, just more fake hauteur. What a negative, contrary human being! Does he have anything to say on his own, not lifted from Google or Wikipedia?

          1. It is indeed amazing how consistent you MAGAts are. You simply have NO facts with which to counter what George, myself, and Dennis say, so you go on the personal attack–everything we write is, according to you MAGAts, a lie, we are negative, jealous, ignorant, etc… BUT what you never seem to be able to come up with are actual FACTS that cast doubt on what we write. There are thousands of people who read this blog who are not regular contributors, and unless they are MAGAts, too, they see through these personal attacks. The man who won the Pulitzer was describing his own personal experience in Gaza at the hands of Israel, which has, according to the UN, engaged in genocide. As I write this, Israel still won’t allow in humanitarian aid. It has killed thousands of Palestinians, mostly women and children. Children who haven’t died are suffering the effects of starvation that will last for a lifetime. Israel deliberately bombs hospitals, schools and locations where refugees were told to go for safety.
Trump supports the killing and starving of Palestinians because he wants to turn Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East”, complete with hotels, resorts, etc. that he can make money from. This is an absolute disgrace, and the writings of the winner of the Pulitzer sheds a light on the reality of what has been happening in Gaza from the perspective of an actual victim. But, Turley is paid to shovel chum to the disciples, to support Trumpism, and to deflect attention away from Trump’s utter incompetence and failures of leadership, so this victim’s genuine criticism of Israel is spun as being antisemitic. What Israel is doing in Gaza is WRONG–the October 7 attack is not a license to kill as many Palestinian people as possible or to starve innocent people–saying so is not antisemitic. And, the war in Gaza won’t end without the support of Saudi Arabia, which has made clear its position–no deal unless the Palestinian people have the right to self-governance. Bloodthirsty Netanyahu is fighting for his own political future, so he wants to keep the killing going as long as possible, even though substantial numbers of Israelis oppose it.

Another reason Turley wrote this latrine-worthy piece is to attack the Pulitzer committee–Trump filed a libel lawsuit against the Pulitzer Board–in Florida, of course. The following is excerpted from “Politico”: “The libel suit does not hinge directly on the articles the Times and Post published about the Trump campaign’s links to Russia or on the decision to award the Pulitzer to the newspapers.

Instead, the case focuses on the board’s decision in 2022 to publicly reaffirm those awards despite repeated complaints by Trump that the the stories contained numerous falsehoods and were undermined by the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation into those issues.

Trump appears to have zeroed in on the board’s 2022 statement about the reviews it ordered of the earlier prizes because Florida law has a two-year statute of limitations for defamation cases.”

Trump is also pissed off because the Pulitzer board snubbed the photo of him with his little 1 cm. scratch on his ear, according to the N Y Post: “Supporters of President Trump are seeing red after the iconic “Fight! Fight! Fight!” photo taken moments after he narrowly survived an assassination attempt last summer was snubbed by Pulitzer Prize judges.

The photo, taken by Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci, captured the heroic moment the then-candidate stood up after being struck by an assassin’s bullet at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pa. — yelling “Fight! Fight! Fight!.” with his fist raised and his face bloodied before he was ushered offstage.”

“Fight, fight, fight”–how ironic those words are now, given the fact that this is exactly what Americans are doing when we take to the streets, to town halls, calling members of Congress, and picketing outside of Tesla dealerships, opposing the destruction Trump is doing to our country and our democracy. So, Turley attacks the Pulitzer Board because it couldn’t be intimidated into pulling an award based on Trump’s Big Lie and wouldn’t given an award for his stupid picture. He should be ashamed–but, he isn’t.

            1. If thousands of people read the consant nonsense here without commenting, they gotta lead even more useless lives than you.

Yesterday, in response to Karen, you outed yourself again as an LPN (thats right, even though you logged in as anonymous).

You are no lawyer and have never been one.

              LIAR

              1. WHERE is proof of any facts to counter what I wrote or what George or Dennis has written? Your personal attacks are nothing.

                1. There is circumstantial “proof” in the FACT that neither you nor georgie nor dennis get any upvotes for your “opinions”– except strangely the singular vote you each get from each other. If you were a lawyer you would get that. If you were a nurse, you would understand that you are a mean ole sicko.

                2. Gigenius

Admit you lied about being a lawyer, or else why would we engage anything you say?

    2. George
      Let me help you out.
Hamas has had a history of falsifying evidence to justify their claims

      1. Dustoff,
Hamas has a long history of falsifying evidence to justify their claims.
Only Nazis would defend or attempt to justify Hamas terrorists actions. They are truly evil.

      2. Dustoff: let me help you out–this man wrote about his own, personal experience in Gaza and the abuse he witnessed and experienced by Israel. There’s no evidence that he is either Hamas or falsified anything–your saying so does not make it a fact.

  17. It’s not criticism of Israel when you attack female HOSTAGES. But hey, why should you worry about a woman shot in her home, kidnapped and taken to Gaza for 100s of days when there is a “Maryland Dad” to worry about?

You are evil, a Jew hater, a juvenile contrarian weirdo who needs the oxygen of being different in order to exist.

    1. Hullbobby, you just demonstrated why these instant reactions to comments that have nothing to do with what I believe or said.

The author can attack or criticize hostages as he sees fit. What he’s pointing out is that not all hostages are merely innocent victims in the view of Palestinians in the greater scheme of things in that region.

The automatic assumption that all hostages are innocent cannot be taken at face value. Now, granted the children are another story we cannot take it for granted that anything Israel says is true since they have also made up evidence and made false claims to justify their own attacks on innocent victims. This shouldn’t be a one sided argument. Israel does deserve criticism for their treatment of Palestinians and the lying about their supposed victimhood. They are just as muchy at fault for what happened on Oct 7. They have killed their own hostages and ended up bombing them as well all in the zealous pursuit of eliminating Hamas for good. Families of hostages have blamed Netanyahu for what happened Oct. 7 as well.

      1. George.

Please explain why NO-other Muslim country will let Hamas in their country.
Simple answer. The Pals/Hamas are lying monsters who have tried to take over every place they went.

        1. No, they won’t take Palestinians because that would justify the removal of all Palestinians from Gaza. They know Israel will use any excuse to remove them from the territory. They won’t be facilitating Israel’s ethnic cleansing by taking in Palestinians.

          1. So they would rather watch their brothers and sisters be eliminated.

            Riiiiiiight, George.

      2. Please name each Israeli hostage for which you have evidence they were killed by Israeli bombs

    2. That female was also a former soldier. We don’t know if she particpated in abusing Palestinians in the past or whatever. Being a female does not mean she was completely innocent of commiting an attrocity. She may very well have or not.

      1. George
That female was also a former soldier.
        *****************
In other words, you have to idea. So as usual. You lie!

  18. Anything critical of Israel is antisemitic. It’s a convenient way to silence legitimate criticism and opinion of Israel’s conduct towards the Palestinians for years.

Turley, a free speech advocate seems to turn a blind eye on that particulare method of censorship. Using antisemitism claims as a pretext to silence dissent or criticsm.

That’s how our own government punishes dissenters and the exercise of free speech, by claiming antisemitic rhetoric as a reason to deport or punish.

Turley also neglects to mention that Israel itself doesn’t seem to care much about the hostages since it has killed or bombed them along with their Hamas captors. He also neglects to mention that many hostage’s families blame and accuse Netanyahu of using their plight for purely political cover to commmit greater attrocities on the Palestinians. Israel has relied on the victimhood mentality for too long as an excuse to dehumanize Palestinians and their plight.

    1. Well, George, they’re almost wiped out. Yahweh is about gone but what will you do with a billion Christians?

It’s all noise. Gobbling, quacking, squealing farm animals all talking at the same time. Tv, radio, the net are noise boxes.
