“A Drought”: Weiss Unloads on Lack of Support from Justice Department on Investigation of Hunter Biden

As Hunter Biden continues to unleash profanity-laden attacks on Democrats, George Clooney, and others, it appears that former special counsel David Weiss is doing his own unloading. In a recent closed-door interview, Weiss said that he faced obstacles in his effort to prosecute the former President’s son, including a virtual boycott from DOJ attorneys in joining his team.

Weiss told the House Judiciary Committee staff that he struggled to staff his effort. He noted that he received no support from former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, who many viewed as the practical head of the department as opposed to former Attorney General Merrick Garland. Notably, Weiss says that he thought that Monaco might have recused herself because he received no support or even interaction with her.

Weiss’s speculation on Monaco’s staff is curious. Usually, recusals are made known to other attorneys to create a wall of separation over any potential conflicts of interest. It is bizarre if Weiss still does not know if such a recusal had occurred.

In the meantime, Weiss said that he found himself an effective persona non grata within the department as he sought staff support. When he went to the director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys, he was told that they had received just one resume from an attorney willing to investigate the president’s son.

As opposed to investigating Trump, it appears that DOJ attorneys did not relish or support such efforts directed against the Bidens.

For his testimony, the Trump DOJ gave Weiss permission in a letter to talk to Congress about Hunter Biden’s cases. The department noted, however, that it could not authorize Weiss to talk about the former first son’s confidential tax information.

Weiss was asked about his failure to charge Hunter Biden under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Some of us wrote extensively about the strong basis for such a charge as an unregistered foreign agent given past charges brought against Trump figures and others.

Yet, as reported by Fox, Weiss “told the committee his team had no serious discussions about charging Hunter Biden under a foreign lobby law called the Foreign Agents Registration Act.”

That is bizarre and highly suspicious. Weiss showed a pronounced lack of aggression in the Hunter Biden case, including seeking a sweetheart deal that was widely denounced.

I have previously testified on the Foreign Agents Registration Act and have previously written about the disturbing disconnect in the treatment of the President’s son as opposed to figures like Paul Manafort.

The charge was always one of the greatest fears of the White House. If Hunter Biden were a foreign agent, it would magnify the influence-peddling scandal and further link his conduct to the work of his father as vice president and later president.

What was previously known about millions received from China, Russia, and other countries made such a charge obvious. In the past, the Justice Department has frequently used the charge in high-profile cases to pressure defendants and encourage cooperation or plea agreements. During the Trump Administration, an official could not visit Epcot without incurring a FARA charge from the DOJ.

This charge has been a favorite of the DOJ before the President’s son was implicated in a massive influence peddling scheme with foreign figures.

According to reports, Weiss seemed to shrug off the FARA question.

Weiss declined to answer many questions, suggesting that he was still limited in doing so. The Trump Administration should be able to remove all such barriers. Weiss has much to answer for in his tenure as special counsel. This is an important start, but should not be the end of the inquiry.

  1. The Dog & Pony Show is Over.

Most all of the Characters of he Biden’s Saga have gone underground.

So it is not surprising that the DOJ Staff Attorneys have called it a Day and resigned themselves to say:
    “I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole”.

The Cover-Up of a Covert Cover-Up (Obama Gate | Biden Gate) to eviscerate the Cover-Ups is never & will never be the correct Career decision.

    Re:
The idiom “I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole” means that the speaker wants absolutely nothing to do with something or someone. It expresses a strong aversion, a desire to avoid something completely due to dislike, distrust, or risk. It’s a way of saying the thing or person is so undesirable that even a long pole wouldn’t be enough to keep the speaker at a safe distance.

  2. What is Legal Justice, but the pursuit of the truth based on factual evidence? There once was a Ham Sandwich that professed, I’m a Ham Sandwich, was accused of being a fake and nothing more than a Pulled Pork Sandwich. The government empaneled a Grand Jury to present the case for prosecution and subsequently the Ham Sandwich was found guilty of impersonation.

I write this with profound concern about the Grand Jury process. If legal justice is to discover truth, you’ll find the quotes from an article written by Larry Neumeister of The Associated Press confounding.

Sarah Krissoff: an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York served over ten years, speaking about grand jury process and the Epstein files “…. Because the Southern District of New York’s practice is to put as little information as possible into the grand jury.”, “They basically spoon feed the indictment to the grand jury. That’s what we’re going to see”. Prosecutors “…. are trying to get a particular result so they present the case very narrowly and inform the grand jury what they want them to do”.

Cheryl Bader: a former prosecutor and current professor, “I’m sure that all the line prosecutor who really sort of appreciate the secrecy and special relationship they have with the grand jury are not happy that DOJ is asking the court to release these transcripts”.

I’ll say only this, ‘justice served in darkness is surely corruptible’!

  3. There’s no hope for the modern left; all they have remaining are lies, hate, lust for power, and young people they raised to be the most ignorant generations the world has seen since the Middle Ages. Nothing stated in the piece surprises me, and those of us that thought this has been the case since 2008 are now being validated weekly.

Voting against American dems, even if one is not a conservative (as I am unequivocally not) is self-preservation at this point; let’s preserve our country for everyone in the process. It breaks my heart when people from abroad visit or immigrate here now, and take away an impression based on all of the destruction wrought by one, awful, delusional and frankly, insane, party, over time.

  4. I’m actually beginning to feel sorry for Turley–I only saw “Hunter Biden” mentioned, and didn’t read anything else because whatever time I would spend reading it would be time of my life I’ll never get back. MAGA media have commanded deflection stories to try to take away attention from the Epstein scandal–so Pammie Jo and Kash Patel release the MLK files without first allowing the family to fully review the materials, which are filled with salacious and unproven BS. Sadly, that deflection isn’t working because more and more witnesses have come forward to confirm the relationship between Trump and Epstein. The dimbulb bottle blondie “press secretary” claims that Trump was never in Epstein’s office–that lie got shot down by Maria Farmer–excerpted from “Newsweek”, July 22, 2025:

“Farmer, 55, is known for providing the initial criminal complaint to law enforcement, the FBI and the New York City Police Department back in 1996 about Epstein’s conduct.
In 2019, Farmer filed a sworn affidavit in federal court in New York, which alleged that both she and her sister Annie had been sexually assaulted by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in 1996 in separate locations. Epstein is estimated to have abused large numbers of girls, with estimates ranging from a few dozen to over 100.

Speaking to Erin Burnett on CNN, Farmer recounted an alleged encounter with Trump. She said that while she was waiting at Epstein’s offices, Trump had arrived there.
She alleged that Trump had stood over her, in a way that she described as “imposing,” and that he had looked at her “like he was in on some secret or something.”
“I felt threatened, so I made an ugly face,” Farmer says in the interview. She then states that Epstein said “Oh no, no, no,” and added, “She’s not here for you,” before escorting Trump out of the room.

Farmer continued that she had always wondered “was someone in there” adding “I have no way of knowing.”

In the interview, Farmer also alleged that “Trump had made a really vulgar comment.” “He made a joke to Epstein. ‘Oh, I thought she was 16,'” she said. She continued: “I didn’t think it was funny.”Asked by Burnett about how close Trump and Epstein were, Farmer said: “It was a known thing among the staff and among everyone that they were best friends.”

In a statement shared with Newsweek over email, Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, denied that Trump had ever been in Epstein’s office, and said: “The fact is that the president kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

Steven Cheung, White House communications director, told Newsweek: “This is recycled, old, fake news of the highest order that was already peddled by dying ‘news organizations’ like CNN more than six years ago. This fake story was concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media, just like the Russiagate scandal, which President Trump was right about. The President was never in Epstein’s office, and in fact, the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday: “I have asked the Justice Department to release all Grand Jury testimony with respect to Jeffrey Epstein, subject only to Court Approval. With that being said, and even if the Court gave its full and unwavering approval, nothing will be good enough for the troublemakers and radical left lunatics making the request. It will always be more, more, more. MAGA!”

Maria Farmer, speaking on CNN, said: “I felt very intimidated. Because, I had on running shorts, and I was vulnerable, sweaty, just, a nobody in an office with these two men that it felt very predatory and uncomfortable.”

    What’s Next
Farmer filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the federal government in May, accusing the FBI, Justice Department and U.S. Attorney’s Office of negligence and failing to protect her and other accusers of Epstein.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche requested the unsealing of transcripts from grand jury proceedings that resulted in indictments against Epstein and Maxwell.

The Trump administration is likely to continue facing calls to release the government’s files on the Epstein case.

Speaker Johnson, trying to avoid a bipartisan vote to command the FBI to release the Epstein files, is plotting to discharge the House early, to prevent the House from voting before the summer recess, which will be 6 weeks long–thinking this will kill the controversy–but it won’t, and no amount of “Hunter Biden scandal” pieces will work either. How pathetic. Turley, did you forget that Hunter has received a full pardon?

    1. Of course, this is all true.

That’s why the eminently ineligible Buttrack Obongo ordered his boy Joke “Take him behind the gym” Biden and his girl Kamalala “Unburdened by what has been” Harris to use this irrefutable evidence against Trump in 2020 and 2024—which were huuuuge successes, by the way.

      1. Ms. Farmer swore the truth of this information to law enforcement back in 1996, long before your hero ever ran for any office. Your hero is a consistent, pathological liar, and flew many times on Epstein’s plane. Then, there are the videos with Trump and Epstein at parties, and the still photos, which include Melania. Trump and Melania first had sex on Epstein’s plane. How about the Access Hollywood tape in which Trump admits to sexually assaulting women he finds “beautiful”? Yeah, your hero can call Epstein a “creep” all he wants to now that he’s dead and can’t respond, but according to reports, their falling out was because of a bidding war regarding Palm Beach property that each wanted to purchase–not because Epstein was a “creep”–something that was public record–see below–Epstein was a registered sex offender, and Trump chose to associate with him, even noting publicly that Epstein preferred “younger” women. And, never forget who was in the White House in 2019 when he died–it was Trump. I still say–turn over the 50th birthday book to a panel of independent handwriting experts for an opinion as to whether Trump’s signature is genuine.

And, unlike Trump, who couldn’t care less about the psychological damage inflicted on Epstein’s victims, Obama and Biden DO care about them, which is probably why they didn’t publicize the matter. They would no doubt be accused of political motivation, especially since Trump is implicated at least as a friend of Epstein. Trump has publicly praised Epstein, too.

The American people want to know who all of the well-connected and high-profile pedophiles are, and Trump promised to release the information–a promise he never intended to keep, so the phony motion to release the “grand jury” testimony that will only implicate Maxwell and Epstein, if it gets released at all, which is unlikely. Excerpted from “USA Today”:

“Epstein never sat for trial, but he pleaded guilty to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of a minor for prostitution in 2008 in Florida. He was also a registered sex offender.
He died in 2019, before he could be tried for sex trafficking charges in New York. He was found hanged in a Manhattan jail cell, and the medical examiner ruled it a suicide.

When was Epstein caught and first charged?
A police investigation into Epstein began in March 2005 after a woman from the Palm Beach area in Florida said her 14-year-old step-daughter had been molested by a wealthy man.
In July 2006, Epstein was indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of soliciting prostitution, which did not address the 14-year-old victim’s age. He was arrested and spent one night in Palm Beach County jail, released the next day on $3,000 bond.

Epstein signed a non-prosecution agreement that was called the “deal of the century.” He pleaded guilty in 2008 to solicitation of prostitution and solicitation of a minor for prostitution. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail, where he was allowed work leave privileges six days a week/12 hours a day over the 13 months he served.
When he was released from jail, he spent a year on house arrest but was allowed to travel anywhere so long as he returned in 24 hours.

        Where is Epstein Island located?
Epstein owned a private island in the U.S Virgin Islands. Is Donald Trump in the Epstein files? Trump has already appeared in legal documents concerning Epstein’s crimes but never in a way that implicates him. In the 1990s, Trump rode on aircraft owned by Epstein, according to flight logs released in two lawsuits. But that was 30-plus years ago.
In Palm Beach County state attorney documents, an image of a message pad communication seized in a Palm Beach police search appeared, but there is nothing more than Trump’s name and a phone number.”

So WHY was Trump calling Epstein and leaving a message for him?

        1. Will you please just stop with your inane rantings? Everyone sees your stupid icon and wall of text and ignores you anyway.

    2. How pathetic, Anonymous, did you forget that Hunter received an auto-pen pardon after his Father said publically that he would never pardon his son..? How pathetic, Anonymous, that Dennis obvioulsy left you in charge of trolling while he was away.. because only a bonehead would not understand that the Garland-Wray Machine no doubt destroyed much of what they confiscated in their Epstein raids and that if anything in there was anti-Trump, they would have used it in the Election.

      1. Don’t forget to call her GIGI, she hates it when you call her out on her attempt to hide her identity.

    3. For someone concerned “time of my life I’ll never get back”, you sure wasted a ton with your post.
You are not going to influence anyone or change any minds w/ your TDS driven musings.
And dont feel sorry for Turley; you should apply all your energies inward.
You might look in to the “#WalkAway campaign” before it’s too late for you.

      1. Lady? If you pay attention to what I and other non-MAGAs write, you would know that we are aware that you MAGAs are members of a cult of personality–that NO facts can sway you–none–no amount of lying will dissaude you from devotion–at least up to now–to the most-unfit person ever to occupy the White House, with the most-unfit “cabinet” in US his tory. MAGAs rely on MAGA media, set up by billionaires to push back against mainstream media that honestly reports just how awful Trump and his administration are. Trump is just a bloated malignant narcissist, who desperately needs power, attention and adulation, a convicted felon on a power trip, aided and abetted by Republcans who sold their souls and principles to keep this pig in power to get tax breaks for the wealthiest and rolling back of environmental and consumer protections.

If you also pay attention to Turley’s writings about the number of hits on this blog, then you would know that there are thousands of non-MAGAs who read it every day. It’s only a dedicated few of you, that I personally believe are on the payroll, who keep up the “atta boy” BS and endlessly divert attention away from Trump and his failures and who praise Turley for carrying the MAGA message du jour. If there is any “derangement” here, it’s with the MAGAs because they have to deny reality every single day to stay loyal to Trump. The Epstein scandal, however, is penentrating this delusional devotion to Trump, partly because Trump sold them on the idea that he is an “outsider” and anti-elitist who promised to release the Epstein files. Now, he refuses to do so. We also know that what Pammie Jo Blondie said was “raw footage” of the door to Epstein’s cell has been run through an Adobe Pro video editing program, and that there are several minutes missing–does that mean Epstein was murdered? Who knows–but it’s proof that the video is NOT “raw footage”. Trump has commanded the FBI to sanitize the Epstein files–to “flag” references to him. Also, his former criminal defense attorney is meeting with Maxwell’s attorney–why? She will be offered a pardon in exchange for saying what they want her to say–and you accuse me of being delusional?

        1. Gigi, you can continue with your inane blabbering, or you can deal with questions that affect most Americans. Let’s take one. Biden permitted the entry of many illegal aliens, and many are good people. But he didn’t bother to ensure that he kept the criminals out. Are you happy about the violence we are seeing from unvetted criminal aliens? Would you like them living next door to you or in the same apartment building?

          1. Many on the left are insulated from the consequences of their crappy voting habits. It’s why the Palisades fires were so shocking, the wealthy leftists there finally got to experience government as the normals do in California, the incompetence, the random diktats, the outright corruption. A few might awaken from their mental slumber, we can hope.

    4. Similarly, I looked at the comment, saw your tell-tale icon, realized it would be nothing more than Gigi tripe, and didn’t read anything else because whatever time I would spend reading it would be time of my life I’ll never get back.

  5. Dear Prof Turley,

There’s something fishy going on with all these U.S. Special Counsels. .. present company excluded, of course.

Drought! The flood of Hunter’s highly paid foreign entanglements, President Biden’s hapless uxoriousness, 51 top intel officials, including the past five CIA directors, is the very reason we have Trump and his Iron Dome Isreal First genocide in Gaza today.
*special note. evidently Hunter’s degenerate crack-addled lifestyle was too distasteful for even the CIA and other ‘foreign intelligence services’ .. . most likely due to the complete absence of any ‘plausible deniability’.

Speaking of FARA, clearly every time Bibi Netanyahu addresses a joint session of congress should require a separate, updated Foreign Agent registration application. .. and that goes double for AIPAC’s investment in congress.

*note. in case you were wondering; AOC is not the answer to Jabba the Hut .. .

    1. “genocide in Gaza today.”

I can hear you clicking your heels and saying Heil Hitler. That is what we expect from a person who has nothing going on between his ears.

  6. “Yet, as reported by Fox, Weiss “told the committee his team had no serious discussions about charging Hunter Biden under a foreign lobby law called the Foreign Agents Registration Act.”

That is bizarre and highly suspicious. Weiss showed a pronounced lack of aggression in the Hunter Biden case, including seeking a sweetheart deal that was widely denounced.”

Of course it was “reported” that the Weiss team didn’t have serious discussions about charging Hunter because they didn’t have anything to prove the alleged violations. It seems bizarre to Turley because he’s being ignorant of that simple fact. A fact that he strains to avoid because it’s the one that makes the most sense. Weiss sought that sweetheart deal precisely because he didn’t have evidence to prove the allegations beyond any reasonable doubt. Manafort on the other hand had quite a bit of evidence against him, so much that a guilty plea was the only option for him.

    1. Someone sure loves the sound of her own voice. Georgina, nobody cares what you dump here. Go away and get your own blog.

        1. What kind of sad life does Georgina here lead, dropping reams of drivel that makes no sense, doesn’t change anybody’s views, and probably gets deleted by the moderator later. It’s like, at the end of the day, you didn’t even exist.

          1. I seems your sole reason to be here is to post ad hominems. That is pretty sad in itself.

            1. I’ll never tire of pointing out Georgina’s lack of intelligence. He’s dumb enough that he needs continual reminding, funny enough.

        2. We don’t read your posts. We did a few times back when, but you consistently post nothing but garbage and lies, so we stopped. You’re also apparently too dumb to realize people can figure out it’s you from your name and icon, and respond without reading your garbage.

          1. You still read them old man. It’s amusing that all you can offer are ad hominems and whining but not a rebuttal or anything of substance to the comment. If you don’t like my posts don’t respond at all. But I know for a fact that you do read them and are often annoyed by them.

            1. once you realized you were caught posting as “anonymous” earlier today, suddenly “anonymous the rude responder” disappears and George appears.

              1. There are multiple “anonymous” posters here including you. George posts as “George” consistently. You on the other hand choose to remain “anonymous” because it allows you to be more of an a-hole.

                1. Much like the baby covered with it’s own poo, Georgina appears to be proud of her garbage here. Just goes to show, morons don’t know that they’re morons.

            2. “But I know for a fact that you do read them and are often annoyed by them.”

George, your statement is opinion, not fact. You remain confused.

  7. Every body is on the take. I set a million irrigation tubes, starting age 6.

It is time to face reality. End old families’ suppression of vital facts: such as fact Free Energy, exists for each and all as N Tesla, proved decades ago.
Almighty’s ten commandments are consistent with mathematical fiscal accountability, physics and mother nature’s supply and demand laws.
E.g., I proved in Phoenix, that SSA had stolen a minimum of $700K from me since 2016, via Bank statements vs their claimed payments. I posted proof to four SSA locations. All are ignored.

I must face the fact, they all are thieves together. These tax salaried personnel are a team of crooks.
The tax salaries personality, feel s that since they ripped us off once, they can repeat, their deceit, repeatedly.

There is no one to turn to obtain the justice I am due. The SS# is a curse.

The very Reason, Samuel Adams, spent 50 years to deify them.

All Taxations must stop. Lease the entire planet be turned into a junk yard, as is inner Phoenix.

To add proof to my claim, present gov, continues to reverse what is most needed, she turned more essential farm land into concrete sprawl! It is time to tear up the concrete, tell Pitzer to blow off and replant orchards!

  8. That is what happens with the last two D-controlled executive branch. Populate ALL the departments and offices with like-minded folks afflicted with TDS.

      1. Yeah, Trump is powerless to release the all the evidence gathered by Florida and Federal authorities. You’re just another pedo enabler. Trump is hiding it.

        1. You know, your lame attempt to drive a wedge isn’t working. Trump’s numbers are actually up with his base. Just more evidence of how pathetic you are.

          1. Sure they are. Trump’s. Numbers are tanking.

            “Updated July 22, 2025

It’s official: Donald Trump’s approval rating has hit a new low. As of today, 43.7 percent of Americans approve of the job he’s doing and 53.7 percent disapprove. That’s a net approval rating of -10.0, compared to his previous second term low of -9.7 (on April 29th). Now is Trump still more popular now than he was at this point in his first term? Yes. But that might not be true for much longer. As of today, Trump’s net approval rating is only 5.8 points higher than it was on day 184 of his first term.

Why the steep decline in Trump’s approval rating over the past two weeks? One potential explanation is the Epstein files. Americans (even even Republicans) aren’t happy with how Trump is handling them.”

            https://www.natesilver.net/p/trump-approval-ratings-nate-silver-bulletin

            Trump’s numbers are not…up.

            1. Haha, nice cherry picking there, Georgina. Were these the same pollsters that had the disastrous Kamalalalala winning? Let’s all go ask President Harris how that went. She was going to win Iowa by 10 points!!! Hahahaha. Why do you back such losers, could it be because you’re a loser too? Supporting a loser ideology?

              1. What does Harris have to do with your inability to support your claim that Trump’s poll numbers are up? Where’s your evidence?

                1. I don’t know, let’s ask President Harris anyway, since she’s so smart. What’s her address now, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20500? Right?

  9. We know the Epstein files don’t have dirt on Trump, because if they did, the dirt would have been leaked by the corrupt Biden/Harris campaign. There is zero chance the Dems wouldn’t have used it.

        1. He’s applying a principle called Occam’s Razor. You should use this thing called the “internet” and look it up. You might learn something, for once.

          1. What, your prerogative to be a moron? I guess so, you’re doing a great job at it so far. Far be it for me to get in your way of making a fool out of yourself.

        2. Wait, you don’t think it’s obvious that if the Biden administration had dirt on Trump they would have used it? Can you name a credible reason why they wouldn’t have used it? I thought not.

      1. OldManFromKS,
We know Bill Clinton took some 26 trips on Epstein’s “Lolita Express,” and half a dozen times without SS present. I would bet there are a lot of very powerful, rich people, from not just America but the world who would like to keep those files in the dark.

          1. Thank you for being such a moron, taking the bait in the trap I easily laid out for you: Flight logs show Bill Clinton flew on sex offender’s jet much more than previously known
“Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” — even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.
            https://www.foxnews.com/us/flight-logs-show-bill-clinton-flew-on-sex-offenders-jet-much-more-than-previously-known

    1. Wrong. Pedophilia is bipartisan. Bush, Obama, Biden and Trump are protecting either themselves and/or other powerful people. How naive are you?????

      1. Not as naive as you in thinking that somehow the left would hold back on anything incriminating Trump, over the last four plus years.

    2. You know? For sure for sure? If you are so certain then it should be very easy for the Trump administration to release the entirety of the case files for the public to disseminate. Right?

What we really know is that Trump is suddenly very shy about releasing those files and that’s after many of his supporters and Pam Bondi declared that they have seen the files and declared they would release them. Now they got cold feet, why? Trump obviously has a history with Epstein and he is scared to death about any connection that might crop up. Trump is well known for his penchant for young women and even the idea of dating his own daughter crossed his mind which is exactly the kind of person Epstein catered to.

      1. More crap from Georgina. Get a life, get your own blog, nobody cares what you write here.

  10. “I have previously testified on the Foreign Agents Registration Act and have previously written about the disturbing disconnect in the treatment of the President’s son as opposed to figures like Paul Manafort.”

Turley failed to understand or at least was too ignorant to see the difference between Manafort and Hunter Biden. There was concrete evidence against Manafort and he was advocating for the government’s position instead of a private enterprise like Hunter Biden and his partners. Weiss knew this distinction and this is one reason why he couldn’t charge him or other lawyer could not pursue them. Smart lawywers knew better than to engage in political witch hunts for Trump.

In past Turley “analyses” of Hunter Biden’s alleged influence peddling, which is perfectly legal by the way, did not dive into the details of the distinctions between Manafort and Hunter.

Manafort was found guilty of a plethora of other serious crimes besides violating FARA. Manafort was charged with various financial crimes including tax evasion, bank fraud, and money laundering. There were 18 criminal charges including 5 falsifications of income tax returns, 4 failures to file foreign bank account reports, 4 counts of bank fraud, and 5 counts of bank fraud conspiracy.

He admitted to the crimes and acknwoledged that he lied multiple times to cover up foreign lobbying for the Ukrainians and hiding other illegal acts. The evidence against Manafort for FARA violations were unconvered in Ukraine in the form of ledgers showing his lobbying efforts and payments he hid from the IRS.

Hunter Biden, on the contrary did nothing wrong. Weiss could not find evidence to prove Hunter did what he as accused of and Turley saying he was not “agressive” enough shows he wanted Hunter to be guilty of something to support his wild conspiracy theory about Hunter Biden. We all know Turley had a thing against Hunter just by the incessant number of articles critical of Hunter and pushing allegations that have proved to be unsubstantiated. Even multiple Republican led committees on the matter could not. produce evidence of FARA violations.

Turley seems to want to help Trump avoid the Epstein files scandal which seems more serious by the day when former Epstein files “afficionados” who are both part of the FBI including Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino who swore they knew the Biden and Obama administration were hiding something by not releasing the files and the now famous alleged “list”. Now that they have complete access to them they are strangely shying away from it and doing the exact same thing previous administrations did. Trump is certainly nervous about the Epstein files getting out if they have any connection to him. He was after all very good friends with Epstein. Trump loves good looking young women. Epstein facilitated many wealthy men’s fantasies when it comes to young women and sex. Remember Trump was a playboy millionaire at the time and he certainly talked like the kind of guy Epstein catered to. It’s not hard to connect Trump as one of those people Epstein could have as a “client”.

    1. Gobblygook does it everytime…I got tired of reading the nonsense and decided not to comment seriously.

          1. He didn’t do anything wrong. That’s kind of the whole point. Weiss could’t find any evidence he violated FARA. Turley is making excuses for Weiss’s inability to come up with what Turley wrongly believes is a crime.

Do you know what the requirements and exemptions under FARA?

            1. “Weiss could’t find any evidence”

I’ll repeat myself because you’re obviously so slow to comprehend and learn, the whole point of this post is that Weiss DIDN’T EVEN TRY. It’s real easy to not find something that you’re not looking for.

              1. LOL!! Weiss didn’t try because there was no evidence. He tried. The problem you and Turley keep running into is the fact that Weiss did try. They didn’t find anything he was doing to be a violation of FARA. They looked for evidence to support the allegations and they couldn’t. Turley wanted Weiss to keep digging and and looking for anything to pinpoint on Hunter that would either lead to another crime or prove the allegations against him were true. Turley wanted a witch hunt. He’s annoyed that he didn’t get what he wanted so he’ making excuses for Weiss’s failure.

What did Hunter do that is against FARA requirements? Can you even point out how he violated it? I have yet to see that from anyone here.

                  1. “If Hunter did “nothing” wrong, why the pardon, hmmmmmm?”

That was obvious. Biden pardoned Hunter to protect him from Trump’s vindictive nature and he was right. Trump would have never stopped persecuting Hunter until he got what he wanted. It’s pure political vengeance.

The fact Weiss couldn’t charge Hunter was not acceptable to Trump. Weiss could not find evidence to support the allegations and Trump being Trump would be perfectly fine with making something up to charge him.

Turley is making excuses for Weiss not being able to find evidence and insinuate there was evidence and accuses Weiss of not being “agressive” enough. Turley wanted a witch hunt and so did Trump, but the evidence just wasn’t there and that is what frustrates Turley and Trump. They want it so bad they are willing to keep any investigation going forever until they find something.

                    1. “Biden pardoned Hunter to protect him from Trump’s vindictive nature”

But if there was no crime, as you have repeatedly asserted, they why would Saint Hunter need a pardon? Hmmmmmmm?

                    2. One cannot convict a murderer caught on video if no one is willing to prosecute.

    2. George, the fact that you THINK, “Hunter Biden, on the contrary did nothing wrong….wild conspiracy theory about Hunter Biden.” Proves that the Biden self-described “POLITBURO” was successful in brainwashing you, and that’s what good propaganda does [it makes an utter fool of you].

The laptop was/IS real, and there were enough narcissistically-recorded crimes, a great variety of them, to put nasty-little-Hunter in jail for many years. But since he is the spoiled child of a corrupt political he gets to be “ABOVE THE LAW,’ and you unwisely endorse this travesty. Tsk. Tsk.

      1. Dianna, it’s not what I think, it’s what Weiss was not able to produce to prove Hunter Biden did anything wrong.

How did he violate FARA? That’s the question even Weiss could not show. Turley couldn’t, nobody else here has. Can you?

Are you even familiar with FARA’s requirements and exemptions about registering?

        1. “Weiss could’t find any evidence”

Mr Potato Head, the whole point of this post is that Weiss DIDN’T EVEN TRY. It’s real easy to not find something that you’re not looking for, dumdum.

      2. RE: George’s inculcated focus on FARA:

of course FARA wasn’t proven: think “strategy”: it was a misleading distinction from the very start. Why? Identifying the wrong crime/charge results in a null finding, and this is obviously the goal, sufficient to demur. They should have called it RICO (racketeering). The Bidens, ALL of them (no matter how dumb and useless they were), squeezed this magic goose till it couldn’t lay anymore golden eggs.

Anyway, the fact that Weiss “struggled to staff the effort” shows much more than just a losing FARA issue; it showed a greater, winning, issue for the democrat-elites—they owned the system!

    3. Yes, a giant difference between Manafort, who worked for Ukraine’s Party of Regions, and Hunter Biden, who collected $1 million a year from the Party of Regions’ Ecology Minister, for being on the BOD of his energy company Burisma.

We question why a corrupt politician like Zlochevsky — who had used his position as Ecology Minister to secure sweetheart deals on natural gas fields — needed to put a crackhead lawyer recently expelled from the US Navy for drug use, on his BOD. Especially because he ALREADY had the supremely qualified US attorney Alan Apter on the board.

  11. Iowa man serves four years in prison for the same crime Hunter committed, and for which Hunter walks free. But “nobody is above the law,” right?

On December 1, 2023, after a bench trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, Alexander Ledvina was convicted of violating a federal law that bars illegal drug users from owning guns. Exactly a year later, President Joe Biden, whose administration had zealously defended that law in court, pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for committing the same crime.

    1. He was pardoned. Bummer. Trump pardoned 1600 criminals including 600 who assaulted cops and injured them. Pardon’s have been abused a lot lately, by both Presidents. But that’s what the constitution allows them to do.

      1. Yup, the president’s son got special treatment. To you that’s just part of the normal course of events. Even though Joe Biden lied to the press when asked if he would pardon Hunter, and said “No, I won’t,” and even though the Dems kept shouting “nobody is above the law” at every turn.

Now . . . if Trump’s kids committed a series of felonies over a ten-year period, and Trump pardoned them, would you have the same response? I thought not.

      2. “600 assaulted cops” Why lie? You can’t prove that because it isn’t true. You should not be allowed to post bs like that. BS, sure. But bs like that–a pure lie. Sorry
