“A Drought”: Weiss Unloads on Lack of Support from Justice Department on Investigation of Hunter Biden

As Hunter Biden continues to unleash profanity-laden attacks on Democrats, George Clooney, and others, it appears that former special counsel David Weiss is doing his own unloading. In a recent closed-door interview, Weiss said that he faced obstacles in his effort to prosecute the former President’s son, including a virtual boycott from DOJ attorneys in joining his team. Biden’s Doctor: Take a Fifth and Call Me in the Morning (With Immunity)

Dr. Kevin O’Connor appeared before the House Oversight Committee, but he had little to say about the investigation into the alleged cover-up of President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline. The former White House physician invoked his privilege against self-incrimination in refusing to answer any questions. His prescription for the Committee seems clear: take a Fifth and call me in the morning (with an immunity grant). The question is now whether Congress will move to compel his testimony.  Continue reading “Biden’s Doctor: Take a Fifth and Call Me in the Morning (With Immunity)”

“Have You Tried Gasoline?”: Democrats Admit Followers are Embracing Violent Rhetoric

“What we really need to do is be willing to get shot.” Those words to a Democratic member are part of a chilling Axios story on the rising violent rhetoric on the American left. As alleged Antifa members are arrested in Texas for the attempted murder of ICE agents, Democratic members are beginning to express private concerns over unleashing uncontrollable rage after their election defeat. My Wray or the Highway: New Report Raises Troubling Questions Over the FBI Spiking Report Contradicting Wray

Newly declassified FBI documents obtained by Fox raise troubling questions over the FBI allegedly spiking findings that contradicted the testimony of  then-FBI Director Christopher Wray. The FBI had uncovered a Chinese conspiracy to influence the election in favor of then-President Joe Biden, including the creation of false driver’s licenses. Wray denied that such efforts were occurring and the FBI reportedly proceeded to effectively bury the report. Trump Critics Face the “Nightmare” of Peace Breaking Out in the Midst of an Impeachment Effort

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) announced this morning that he would oppose the introduction of his war powers resolution on Iran if the ceasefire holds. He described the resolution as a moot point if peace is restored. That is clearly not going to satisfy colleagues like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) who is struggling to maintain her call for impeachment.

‘Where’s Jackie?”: Why the Public Needs Answers on Biden’s Alleged Incapacity

Below is a slightly expanded version of my column in U.S. News & World Report on the investigations into President Joe Biden’s mental state in his second term of office. While I do not expect any prosecution to come from these investigations, there are ample reasons why we should get answers to some of these questions as we continue to struggle with the problem of presidential incapacity.

Here is the column:

The Claude Rains School of Constitutional Law: Democrats Denounce Iranian Attack as Unconstitutional

Yesterday, I wrote a column in the Hill discussing how Trump is unlikely to go to Congress in launching an attack on Iran and how he has history on his side in acting unilaterally. The column noted that many Democratic politicians and pundits who were supportive of such unilateral actions by Democratic presidents such as Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are suddenly opposed to Trump using the same power. It is the Claude Rains School of Constitutional Law where politicians are “shocked, shocked” that Trump is using the authority that they accepted in Democratic predecessors.

Dem Rep. Balint Under Fire Over Insulting Claim About Undocumented Immigrants

There is a curious narrative emerging from Democratic politicians and pundits in support of the millions of undocumented persons who entered under the Biden Administration: they are perfect for menial tasks. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Texas) even argued that we need Hispanic immigrants to do things like pick our cotton. That seemed to echo the sentiments of Rep. Jerry Nadler (D. N.Y.), who warned that, without undocumented workers, we would not have anyone to pick our crops. Not to be outdone, Rep. Becca Balint (D., Vt.) opposed the efforts of the Trump Administration to close the border and deport unlawful immigrants because “we’re not going to have anyone around to wipe our a–es.” I wonder why Democrats are losing Hispanic voters. Democrats Pledge Impeachments and Prosecutions When They Return to Power

Various Democrats are promising to investigate and impeach President Donald Trump if they retake the House next year. At the same time, others are promising a scorched earth campaign against those who support Trump, including Elon Musk. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) declared this week that Musk committed crimes and will be at the top of the list.  Continue reading “Democrats Pledge Impeachments and Prosecutions When They Return to Power”

Liberation Dusk? Court Strikes Down Trump Tariffs in the Midst of Trade Negotiations

Below is my column in the New York Post on the decision yesterday finding that the Trump tariffs are invalid. What happens now will be, if nothing else, interesting. Dusk has come to Liberation Day. Trump has options, but the pressure will now be greater on Congress as bilateral trade agreements are moving forward.

The Red Line: Democratic Officials Claim a Dangerous License for Illegality

Across the country, a new defense is being heard in state and federal courtrooms. From Democratic members of Congress to judges to city council members, officials claim that their official duties include obstructing the official functions of the federal government. It is a type of liberal license that excuses most any crime in the name of combating what Minn. Gov. Tim Walz called the “modern-day Gestapo” of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Raskin: Trump Officials Can Be Arrested for “Kidnapping” Undocumented Persons

For some on the far left, “The Rachel Maddow Show” is a godsend. Otherwise, you would have to go to the subway to compete against others raving about microchips and oligarchies. Just take Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who went on the show on Friday to explain that Trump officials can now be arrested for “interfering with a legal proceeding” or “kidnapping.” It now stands as second only to Harvard Professor Laurence Tribe’s claim on MSNBC that President Donald Trump could be charged (“without any doubt, beyond a reasonable doubt, beyond any doubt”)  with the attempted murder of former Vice President Michael Pence. “We Need an Uprising”: Democratic Rep. Calls on People to “Threaten” Congress and “Take to the Streets”

U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., is the latest Democratic politician to use rage rhetoric to rally voters despite an alarming increase in political violence on the left. Calling for an “uprising,” Wilson also lashed out at the Laken Riley Act.

Capping Carbon Admissions: The Biden Administration is Accused of Burying Conflicting Climate Change Report

There is a major story developing on Capitol Hill after House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, R-Ky, revealed that a long-withheld report from the Biden Administration directly contradicted the claims of climate change used to limit increased U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. The suggestion is that this was an knowing effort to cap carbon admissions rather than carbon emissions.

“Content Agnostic”: EU Official Denies Anti-Free Speech Policies in Bizarre Letter to Congress

Congressional SealAfter returning recently from speaking at the World Forum in Berlin, I testified in the Senate Judiciary Committee and warned about the building threat to free speech from the use of the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA). House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan has taken up the issue and received a letter from the EU’s Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Henna Virkkunen. The letter is both evasive and deceptive.
