Boston Firefighter Raises Eyebrows By Competing in Body Builder Competition While on Disability Pay

Boston firefighter, Albert Arroyo, has every reason to be proud of his eighth place finish in a body building competition. However, the Boston fire department was more interested in the fact that he is supposed to be on permanent disability after a fall two months hurt his back. As watching the video below, they are now wondering why he can bulk up to Arnold Schwarzenegger size but cannot serve as an inspector with the fire department.

Arroyo, 42, appears now to be facing a hearing on his curious recovery. Worse yet, a jury is looking into a pattern of criminally fraudulent disability claims in the department.

UPDATE: Arroyo has now been ordered back to work, here, but what about that little matter of alleged fraud?

  1. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. http://jonathanturley.org is really good. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

  3. It looks like Officer Arroyo will have plenty of time to continue his body building after he is terminated from his job. I am always amazed how people think that they are smarter than anyone else. The become “entitled” to the disability money no matter what the facts of the situation. The City of Boston will be better served by Arroyo working elsewhere.

  4. I had a lot of difficulties on this site yesterday. When I made a comment on the Black Widows it registered as one comment even though there were 4 others under, Recent Comments. When I went to read the other comments they came up under the April 17? listing. Later on the seem to have all posted together.

Other problems made the blog look like people had decided to channel Nostradaums. Whole comments were simply missing, leaving replies to these comments hanging like quatrains. I was ready to call my psychic for help.

I don’t know if others had these problems, but just in case, I’m mentioning it now.
