A Boy And His Dog

humorous-220_smallThere is a natural bound between men and dogs that is captured in this photo. While it takes many years for most people to find this perfect state of coexistence, this picture shows that there are some people who are just naturals.

I will be on a retreat with a group of people at Shrine Mont this weekend in the mountains of Virginia. I usually cannot look forward to such repose, but I will do my best.

    The obvioius and glaring differences between Jill and I are not limited to mere matters of opinion, to be sure.

    One doesn’t get to have an opinion, for instance, about there being any correlation between the current H1N1 swine flu virus and the deadly H5N1 avian flu virus. It is a patently false statement to make and entirely irresponsible to have suggested it. But was there a retraction. Is there ever?

    What I also find annoying is this wild daily obsession in citing certain events, or lack thereof, as being solid evidence of a mad ‘Obama’ conspiracy, which rests on some imaginary presupposed timetable as full measure of the intent and current thinking by this new administration.

    Jill reads my posts. She refuses to respond to my challenges because that would require admitting she doesn’t know what she talking about.

    I can list several examples of what I mean.

    And if you had actually been reading here for eight months, you wouldn’t even be asking the question of me. You’d be asking why she won’t retract her bull-oney.

    I agree. Whoever took the picture should be charged with negligence. They should have turned that baby over. What a disturbing sight. Not cute. Not cute at all.

    I think Kelo v. City of New London might qualify for a bad decision on Souter’s part.

    The taking of private land for private use, even if additional taxes are collected puts all of our properties at risk. I am pretty sure the founders did not have that in mind when they wrote about eminent domain. In my opinion this one decision goes against the constitution at a very elemental level. This was a gross over reach by the court. In addition how do you compensate justly when the property is depressed but would have been worth far more had the private developer been forced to buy the land through normal means.

  5. Former Dem, I have yet to see a constructive comment, a suggestion, an idea or a reasoned argument from you on any topic. The constant whining is pointless and increasingly obnoxious. If that is your intent, you’re wildly successful. On the other hand, if you are actually able to cite a single opinion of Justice Souter’s that you believe is contrary to the law, please tell us so and explain the legal error or errors in the opinion. Although hope springs eternal, I anticipate that you will be wholly unable to take me up on this because you have not read any of Justice Souter’s opinions, but have instead relied upon some inane observation of Rush Limbaugh or one of his wannabes, who also have not read any of Justice Souter’s opinions. Well, I’m waiting.

  6. Souter is right up there with the worst Supreme Court Judge the United States has ever had.

    He lied to President George H. Bush about his political beliefs and that any he had would not impact his decisions.

    He also has the knowledge that he could have stopped the murder of 25,000,000 infants to abortion and did nothing.

    I really hope he sits in his little cabin and contemplates the damage he has done in his miserable life.

    I am not seeing where this person by the screen name of Jill has said anything offensive to you. What is it you expect to gain by these unnecessary unsolicited comments?

    I have reread these posts for the last 8 months, I have not seen where she has reponded to a single thing that you have had to say.

    You will stop the negative comments will you not?

    It has a chilling affect on this blog or if you prefer Blawg. I do know JT, we will speak when he returns. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    JT, my partner and I now own, between the two of us, 10 dogs on our ‘working’ farm – two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, a blue Wiemaraner, a Viszla, a Border Collie, a Lab/German Short-Hair Retriever mix, a Basset Hound, and our newest adorable additions, a breeding pair of Anatolian Shepherds!

    We are having such a good time with all of them, now that the weather is improving. We love all our canine ‘kids’ and these two are gonna be BIG and gorgeous ‘Smarties’.

  17. There is a book called: Bad Dog, True Tales of Trouble Only a Best Friend Can Get Away With by Kaori and Doug Brown. Eating the pearls, destoying a car, breaking open water lines to flood a home–these dogs are loved. It’s very funny and quite touching, as is the photo.

  18. As stated nothing is more natural and pure that a baby with an animal. It shows the perfect balance of nature.
