North Korea Executes Woman For Distributing Bibles

140px-Family-bible225px-Kim-jong-il_portrait North Korea has added yet another infamy to its record: the execution of Ri Hyon Ok, 33, for distributing Bibles. As is often the case, North Korea tacked on a charge of spying for South Korea and the United States — as if the two countries would enlist a spy who divides her time between surveillance and evangelical activities.

Not only was Ri’s parents and husband put into a prison camp, but so was her three children. According to human rights groups, she was executed in Hoeryong.

North Korea purports to protect religious freedom but essentially prohibits the worship of anyone by the “Dear One,” Kim Jong Il, and his late tyrannical father, “the Great One,” Kim Il Sung.

  1. Is it just me or are there parallel spaces on the planet where time works at different rates so that we have both ancient and modern episodes going at the same time?

Coming soon to a country near you. Oh, pardon me, what’s that? People are giving Obama a pass on punishing Bush Co. because he’s “their guy”? I guess that would make this product already available in America.

As an aside, I saw these guys at a little bar in Lawrence, KS called The Bottleneck right as this song was taking off and before they started touring opening for the Rolling Stones. They blew the roof off that joint.

Did you mean to say “but” instead of “by”?
