The annual selection of the top 500 lawyers in America has begun at LawDragon. You can vote for your favorite colleagues, teachers, or counsel.
While I am happy to be on the ballot, I am more happy to see others not on the ballot. Notably, John Ashcroft is no longer on the list. Nor is John Yoo or most other Bush lawyers. Also missing is Alberto Gonzales this year.
What is interesting is the absence of Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Clarence Thomas and Ruth Bader Ginsburg are also off the list, even though the rest of the Court makes it on the ballot. Judiciary Chairman John Conyers and other members of Congress are also not on the list.

Wesley was a member of the church of England, broke away and started a new heretical church, that conformed to “HIS” value system, they call themselves methodists. They are one of those 18,0000 plus flavors of protestantism, I mentioned earlier.

You I presume have never been to Catholic School have you? So I guess you would not know the way the system works. But then again this was in the 70 so, they did relax the standards. Maybe you could have even made it through. I will say that the same texts we used in 9th grade we used in public school my senior year. It was such a pleasure to have torn an English book up in front of the teacher and watch her spaze out. Finally they realized that it was a text that I owned, ok, parents purchased it. It was as funny, then as it is now.

If you are the Hierarchy of the RCC then I am comparing you to Hitler.

Whenever Mr. Appleton talks about the Catholic Church, he invariably mentions liberation theology, the Berrigans(?) and Dorothy Day. He then encourages one to read Hillaire Belloc Chesterton and Newman. I would have thought you would be championing the writings of George Tyrell, Hans Kung and Karl Rahner. Karl Rahner is someone well worth reading. He stated in one of his early works,”that if a sincere Catholic analyzes his conscience, he would find himself at the sacrament of confession about twice a month”. I wonder why Mr. Appleton never mentions St.Kolbe, St.Pio or even Mother Teresa. I just find it utterly bizarre and even incongruent how he links Cardinal Newmans writings in the same sentence as the Berrigans?
