First Harry Reid says that President Obama is a “light-skinned negro” (here) and now former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has announced that he’s “blacker than Barack Obama.”
Here is the case Blago made for his entry in the NAACP Hall of Fame:
“What the f***? Everything he’s saying’s on the teleprompter. I’m blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived. I saw it all growing up,”
Just a “five-room apartment”? My God, he was a virtually a street urchin.

Byron I am not so sure. Blumenthal keeps the dem seat safe in Connecticut. There is a probable dem pickup of the Judd Gregg seat in New Hampshire. Republicans will pick up some seats but I don’t think it will be devastating. Being anti-choice and anti-gay keep republicans from gaining favor in many parts of the country. These positions also give them a stronghold in the south.I guess it ultimately will depend on the economy but what do republicans have to offer?

Actually I think you are right, Porky Pig or Elmer Fudd could run as an independent and be elected this year. And that just might be a bigger problem than the one we have now.

35 years ago there was no such thing as “Blackwater.” And no, it was not to see who might work for the CIA.
It was during a time of heightening black consciousness on campus and the standard Stanford-Binet IQ test was considered racially biased. The ghetto IQ test was designed by some African American educators with the intention that suburban white kids would not be able to pass it to teach the smarmy little punks a lesson.
I, a smarmy little white punk, took the ghetto IQ test in the history of black music class and scored the highest in the class, besting African American kids from Chicago’s inner city.

Not bragging, mind you. Or taking Blagojevich’s side in this tempest in a teapot as he has apologized. But nearly 35 years ago in a history of black music class I, a white kid from Iowa, received the hightest score on a “ghetto IQ” much to the curiosity and a little chagrin on the part of classmates from inner city Chicago.
