All A Twitter: Chavez Hires 200 People To Tweet For Him

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has hired 200 people to help him tweet as part of his account “chavezcandanga,” which has more than 237,000 followers. He has much to tweet about as inflation has now reached 30 percent in the country, which Chavez blames on the “bourgeoisie.”

Chavez’s twitter account is now slightly larger than his rival Globovision, the only critical TV channel remaining in the country after Chavez’s crackdown on journalists and free speech.

The 30.4 percent inflation rate is now the highest in Latin America and, in his signature style, Chavez is now blaming the hidden hand of the United States and the wealthy and punishing no punitive measures: “We need to stop this right now. The bourgeoisie do not listen to appeals to their conscience. Let’s act with a firm hand.” Totalitarian tweets in 140 characters or less.

  1. Buddha:

You arent even close, but then that is the nature of propaganda and you are as good at it as anyone I have ever seen.

  2. “As soon as the land of any country has all become private property, the landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent even for its natural produce.”

    ~Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations

    Damn communist, that Adam Smith.

  3. Yeah, you are wrong about the nature of liberty, Byron. The right to own property you claim to cherish so much COME WITH RESPONSIBILITIES. What? You think you’re in a room full of people who don’t know that? The Prof teaches TORTS. You think your right to own crap comes with no responsibility? Start leaving old refrigerators about your property and see who is held responsible when some kid locks himself in and suffocates to death. The DA will eat you alive. Start dumping mercury in your back yard and see how long takes your neighbors to sue your ass off or kill you in your sleep if the EPA doesn’t jump on you like a #400 gorilla first.

Freedom of any sort comes with responsibilities.

But responsibility is that thing you don’t want for you and your economic interests. Nooooo.

You’re not only wrong, your views are exactly the same kind of myopic greed that has killed Washington. “Why I have a right to take unlimited money for campaigns from lobbyists! And anyone who thinks I won’t give them preferential treatment is paying attention, er, wrong.” Every transaction has hidden costs.

And the CDS debacle makes your assertions about the value of totally free markets a load of crap.

  4. Byron,

Secondhand personal anecdotes about Sweden as evidence? Aww. That’s cute too, Mr. Fallacy. What’s your next evidence? Something you got off a bubblegum wrapper? The testimony of The Swedish Chef?

I speak plainly. Always have. Even our mutual friend the true old school conservative FFLEO would agree with this point. As would any other regular. I speak both plainly and consistently.

You, on the other hand, do not. Spin? How about let’s let the regulars decide who spins and distorts, Mr. Came In Here As A Troll. Mr. Steals An Identity. Mr. The Nazis Were Socialists Not Fascists. You also make shit up on a fairly regular basis, Mr. Oh Now The Nazis Are Fascists When It Suits My Purposes For Fluffing Up A Secondhand Swedish Anecdote. I have yet to see you propose anything that doesn’t benefit you directly. But then again, what should I expect from someone who thinks that apologist von Mises as anything other than a fascist hack. Yes, Byron, he IS taught at university economics classes. He’s taught as a bad example. You know, that thing you are becoming. Narcissist much? It’s good thing you live so close to DC. I bet you fit right in.

Yeah. You’re for individual rights – yours and yours alone. Protection from the state from keeping you from making money doing whatever you please no matter who gets harmed. Fuck society. You got yours, who cares about everyone else? Not you, that’s apparent. You’ve shown that time and again. My. How very aristocratic in the French mode. Again, see what Orwell said about pigs, Mr. More Equal Than Others As Long As I Profit. Oink.

You care about personal freedom as far as it makes you money. Corporations are not individuals. They are collectives hiding behind a legal fiction. Just like a gang hides behind their guns. And you continually argue that they don’t need regulation. They only steal and kill with pens and office copiers so they can’t be criminals! Bullshit. You desire a fantasy land totally free market where everyone is free to do as they please as long as they make a profit and that this model of unbridled greed is some kind of panacea that will cure all the world’s ills AND make money at the same time.

Sorry, sport, but some problems simple COST to fix.

And ignoring them so you can steal that money to other more personal uses will not make the problem go away. It will in fact make the problems worse. But by all means let them eat cake, eh? That’s worked so well in the past.

You’re a fascist, Byron. Plain and simple. This is not your label of course, it is the one I’m applying based on the totality of your posts. Just like when I call you new best buddy the admitted troll and demonstrated bigot a troll and a bigot. I asked of each and everything what is it in itself. In your case the analysis returns the label fascist. You won’t think this of course. Like most, you think you are the hero of your story. I’m sure the traitor Cheney thinks he’s a patriot too.

People are rarely what they label themselves as but are more often what others think of them. Romans thought Nero was a monster. His dying words just before committing suicide as the mobs rushed to get him? “Such an artist dies with me!” So who was right? Nero or the thousands of Romans who wanted his head on a stick? I’m thinking his countrymen has his psychopathic number. Do you know what angered them into wanting him dead? He took what was theirs for his personal use. Not public use. His personal use. Again, the distinction between public trusts for the public good and private for profit endeavors raises its hugely ugly head.

You don’t want to pay any taxes or submit to regulations yet you want all the benefits civilization provides. Namely the money. The love of money is the root of all evil. That’s one of the things the Bible did get right. And you’ve got lots o’ love. A love most misplaced. Or as Buddha said, “There is no fire like passion, there is no shark like hatred, there is no snare like folly, there is no torrent like greed.” Congratulations! You’re batting strong!

On a personal level, I have no place in my offline life for the venal or the followers of Janus. The greedy and the two-faced double talkers are the bane of human existence. Don’t contact me offline again. I hope that was stated clearly enough for you.

Did you ever get that thing out of your mouth? Apparently not. At least you’ll save money on mouthwash.

  5. bUDDHA:

“Much like our crippling war spending will come back to haunt us. A war, need I remind you, started by capitalists (truthfully fascists) for a personal profit motive, not to get those responsible for 9/11. If that’s why we went to war? We should be in Saudi Arabia. End of story.”

Started by Muslim extremists and perpetuated by a compassionate conservative and his neo-con lackeys. And I agree Saudi Arabia should have been taken over and we should have gone after Iran as well. End of Islamic terror.

Yep you beat me about the head and shoulders over my beliefs because I was wrong about the war and about torture. And you were right to do so.

I am not wrong about individual rights and free markets nor about property rights.

  6. Bdaman:

Maybe Buddha would like to come and show us how he puts the spin on his balls.

  7. Buddha:

I have got to admire your ability to take a concept that I am proponent of, namely individual rights (not corporate rights per se) and twist that into Fascism.

Quite fascinating really, your equating Fascism and individual rights. Don’t destroy the idea of individual rights which you cant but trash the proponent of individual rights as a Fascist so that when people see someone writing or speaking about individual rights they will automatically conclude they must be in the presence of a Fascist.

Brilliant actually, my hats off to you. Or maybe you really don’t understand the concept of individual rights?

  8. Byron what time did you want to go? I need to go a little early so I can polish my balls. 🙂

  9. But to me it sounds like Fascism that they retained or learned from the Nazi’s.

  10. Buddha:

here is an analysis of the Swedish system from a Swede a guy I know. I’ll let you determine what it means.

“I would say that Sweden today is in much *better* condition, economically, than the USA is today. But that is because, ironically, Sweden has *less* leftist policies right now than America, under the leftist Obama, has.

Sweden has been ruled mostly by the Social Democrats during the afterwar period. But the Swedish Social Democrats are reviled by many Swedish leftist for pursuing pro-business policies. And it is *true* that many of the policies of Swedish Social Democrat governments have been pro-business, at least relative to Sweden´s competitors on the world market. For example, the corporate tax burden on Swedish industrial companies has been *significantly*, perhaps *much* lower than it has been in the USA, and even West Germany (West Germany is probably Sweden´s most important competitor in industrial products). So the Swedish Social Democrats have taken care to keep the cow (the private sector) fat, so to speak, so that they (the government) can get more milk from it (although the corporate taxes have been relatively low in Sweden, the taxes on private citizens have been very high).

The Swedish Social Democrats have deliberately pursued a policy of making sure that most of the saving, and thereby wealth-building that has gone on in Sweden during the after-war period, has taken place “inside” the business firms, rather than in the private households. Which, of course, has impoverished the general population, and kept the wealth concentrated in the hands of those, and their heirs, who were fortunate enough to already own the business firms, when the Social Democratis instituted these tax policies. Sweden has relatively “proletarized” workers. Most workers do not have any wealth to speak of. Which of course makes them more likely to support the welfare policies, since they “need” the government´s support. I believe that the Swedish Social Democrats do not want the workers to have any private wealth, because then they would be more independent, and then they might not vote for the Social Democrats and the welfare state.

Incidentally, I believe that one reason that Sweden has prospered during the years after the Second World War, was Sweden´s economic cooperation with Nazi Germany during the war. This is a fact which is not widely known. But Sweden supplied roughly 50% of Nazi Germany´s total consumption of iron ore during the war. Without the Swedish iron ore, Nazi Germany would not have been able to manufacture all the tanks, cannons, etc which it needed to fight the war, and which consisted largely of steel. It is, in my opinion, obvious that the reason that Nazi Germany never invaded Sweden was that it never needed to, since Sweden showed no qualms about supplying Nazi Germany with the sorely needed iron ore. And because Sweden was never invaded by Nazi Germany, and was not bombed during the war. virtually all of Sweden´s factories were still standing and functioning when the war ended, while the industries of almost all of its competitors were in ruins. The only major exception to the fact that Sweden´s competitors´ industries were in ruins at the end of the war was, of course, the USA. So, logically enough, Sweden, Switzerland (whose industries were also standing at the end of the war) and the USA were for several decades after the war the world leaders in GNP per capita!”

He ends with this: “Incidentally, the quality of the Swedish government health care, and of the Swedish public schools, sucks. Although both the public hospitals and the public schools are *very* expensive!”

  11. On the up side, at least your bowling partner will have minty fresh breath, Byron.

  12. Byron,

You keep moving that goal post and trying to smear your sins on me, Rove. *I* don’t know what a false analogy is?

I’m the one who just schooled you. I have given logic lessons here on numerous occasions (as have Vince and Bob and Slarti – all trained logicians). But I don’t know what I’m talking about. Uh huh. That’s just hysterical coming from an engineer who argues via fallacy. You need to learn that what you argue for isn’t individual rights. It’s superior quality collective rights for corporations (as they are a legal construct managed by a collective of people), NOT individual rights. No man is above the law is a precept of the founding of the nation and why we have the Equal Protection Clause. But you seem to want even more “rights” for the corporations since you steadfastly think that they should be immune to the law and regulation. “The markets will fix everything if totally free!” Bullshit. Unregulated markets got our economy trashed in the first place. You’re the one with reversed polarity, sport. And you show it every time you misuse a Jefferson quote in support of fascism.

The day I take law lessons from a engineer? Don’t make me laugh. You got a law degree? Ever represented someone in court? I can say yes to both. No is your answer to both questions. You’re bringing a pointed stick to a howitzer fight if that’s your tactic. I know more about law (and argument and raw logic among several other topics) than you’ll ever know absent a nice long slog back through the academic trenches and up the professional slope. Get crackin’. You got a LOT of catching up to do. If we get into an argument about construction, I won’t argue the compression strength of concrete. Why? Because I know where my knowledge ends. Unlike you, I don’t make shit up to fill in the gaps. Because you frequent a site full of lawyers doesn’t make you a lawyer anymore than frequenting a four star restaurant makes you a Cordon Bleu trained chef. So you better think twice before lecturing to me about the nature of law. I’ve shredded you in the past. I can do it again.

And again. And again. And again.

Hate that your true color has finally shone through and it’s a brown shirt? That too would be your problem, apologist. You put it on yourself. Act like a corporatist, get treated like a corporatist.

In the mean time, how about you sticking to building things and let the lawyers deal with the law since you can’t use even the most basic definitions without trying to distort them to justify your “money uber alles” philosophy. If you had a legal education and background, you’d stop quoting Jefferson by using his statements about PERSONAL property like it applies to corporations as if they were real people. Jefferson would have likely taken his fists to you if you kept doing that in his presence. Is that head just holding your scalp up? Because you’ve been posting lately like your brain has left the building. When (more like an unlikely if) you figure out corporations aren’t actually people but a fiction for criminals to hide behind that deserves NO rights and as much regulation is required to stop them from behaving in a criminal manner? I’ll be really surprised that you’ve seen beyond your wallet to do so based upon your recent decline.

In the Kingdom of the Blind, the One-Eyed Man is King. Too bad you’re not just gone totally blind now but deaf as well. Blinded by unrestricted capitalism and the prospect of the personal wealth of Midas regardless of cost in human lives or rights. Rendered deaf by Neocon bullshit clogging your ears.

I sure hope those blue pills tasted good.

If I wanted any crap out of the snarling troll whelp? How about you pinch your own head, bigot. Don’t stop until you hear a pop.

On a side note, you two should go bowling. You deserve each other. A fascist apologist and a fascist puppet. Peas in a pod.

  13. Buddah why don’t you go pinch a tail and suck another head or make some etouffee.

  14. George Bernard Shaw even talked about using a gas. I guess the Nazis took him up on it.

Thats exactly who they got it from.

  15. Buddha:

I dont even think you know what a false analogy is, you brought up eugenics all I did was give you an American socialist that was a supporter of the Nazi’s. And by the way many socialists in the early years of the last century were on fire for killing the undesireables in society. George Bernard Shaw even talked about using a gas. I guess the Nazis took him up on it.

Individual rights, not collective rights is what our system is founded on. Learn that and then come talk to me.

  16. Abortion and industrialized genocide is still a false analogy even when made by a bigot, badpropagandaregurgitator. But expecting logic from a birther is like expecting a superfluous nipple to have a function.

  17. Planned Parenthood and Nazis? That’s cute. Absurd, but cute. You’re all about the false analogies these days.

With Obamacare Cash Comes New Abortion Supercenter for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) has announced that they are constructing a new clinic and administrative headquarters in St. Paul. The 46,000 square foot, three-story, LEED certified “green” structure is expected to open in 2011. It is one of a number of mega-clinics Planned Parenthood has opened recently or is planning to open, such as the 78,000 square-foot Houston facility that some have called the largest abortion center in the western hemisphere.

  18. Love it or leave it?

    What’s next troll?

    Going to question my patriotism?

Monday is apparently amateur night again.

I operate by the first definition of socialism for market sectors critical to national survival and the ability to compete with countries that do have blended socialist economies. Like Sweden.

And you speak for the majority, eh? That’s a mighty high opinion you have of yourself, Mr. President. Or are you just psychic?

And how about those mittens, Forest? Are they tied together like Ralphie’s little brother in “A Christmas Story”?

    I bet they are.

The next time you try to slander my patriotism? I’ll tell you like I told the last troll to do that: go fornicate yourself. I’m willing to bet my family has as much if not more blood in that fight than you and yours. Three Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars and three dead bodies. You want to play this game? You better run along over and play with the amateurs at FOXNews and HuffPo.

I floss out bits of trolls tougher than you before I brush my teeth.

  19. Buddha:

    Main Entry: so·cial·ism
    Pronunciation: \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\
    Function: noun
    Date: 1837
1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Maybe you think this says something else other than what I read, but you keep moving the target to suit your lack of any coherant idea other than to have some of us pay for the continued pleasure of others on a full time basis. That is not helping your brother when he is down that is enslaving a portion of the population as continious providers without the benefit of choice. Maybe you should move to one of those countries that you so admire. Why continue to disagree with the majority? If you truly believe in socialism in whatever form you choose to define it by then why not live in a country where there is no discussion and practice what you preach?
