Gunning for Votes: Arizona Republican Shown as a Weapon of Mass Destruction in Video

Arizona Republican candidate and state lawmaker Pamela Gorman appears to be running for a position on a SWAT Team in this video where her skills with machines guns and pistols are highlighted.

She is heralded in the video as a “conservative Christian and a pretty fair shot.” Presumably, her opponent will now have to outdo her with an ad showing him blowing up bridges or piloting a B-52 bombing run. It used to be that politicians promised things like “a chicken in every pot.”

She is not alone. Check out Dr. Christina Jeffrey, candidate for US Congress (SC-4):

  1. Hey! Did someone clone Ma Barker? Just asking.

Just wait till these gals have PMS–Premenstrual Shootings!

  2. Hmmm… If things like “leading troops into combat” and “going mano-a-mano with your enemy and shooting him dead” are important qualifications to many voters, given that John Kerry did exactly those things, did they vote for him?

  3. Ahem,

Make that “severally” into a “severely.”

Oh, and there’s P-funk in the maggot thread.

  4. Tootie,

To answer your severally missing my point:

So, because the Obama administration lifted the ban on guns in National parks, that means that white liberals think they own the land?

I would say that white liberals probably think that they own the land because by the very nature of national parks they, as well as every other citizen of the U.S., DO in fact own the land. Also by the very nature of our government, the Executive Branch does get to decisions about the land use.

    Ain’t representative democracy grand?

  5. Gyges:

No, the problem is when you are forced to evacuate for days or weeks from a hurricane or western fire and you load all your most precious belongings in your RV, you don’t want to be a criminal because you have your guns with you while you await your return.

Or you don’t want to get et by a bar. A thing more likely to occur in a national park than Manhattan.

I realize that white liberals think they own these natural territories and they should be able to make whatever stupid rules they wish, but their snobbish elitist arrogance still shouldn’t trump the Constitution.

  6. Ginger,

You mean by doing things like allowing guns in national parks? The fact of the matter is, the reason you’ve seen such a strong push towards this sort of gesture by the right is because they’re having to go further and further out to be “the party that likes guns.”

  7. I note with interest that we were never shown the targets after she’d finished showing off.

By the way Gyges, I remember reading “Freedom in Exile” the Dalai Lamas autobiography. Apparently he is a pretty good shot and uses a BB gun to stop the bigger dicky birds from getting too greedy at the bird table in his garden.

  8. The One that is I AM

Hey now, don’t be giving my jobs away.

I am a jealous Divine being.

    I AM

Ahhhh … The Word, The Law, The Love

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; (Exodus 20:5)

  9. Hey now, don’t be giving my jobs away.

I am a jealous Divine being.

    I AM

  10. Ginger: Dems cannot do that. Then they would have to give up their dearly desired goal for a totalitarian police-state.

That is too important for them.

  11. Christians armed to the teeth. Fucking with the New World since 1492.

  12. I have a question, in 1865 they pass a Guano Act that allowed the US to take over by friendly means any island in the south pacific. Has this act ever been repealed? If not can we ship these people to there to search for guano?

It appears that there time would be better spent.
