Palin Aide Criticizes Romney Aide for Attacking Palin Anonymously — But Insists on Anonymity

The irony of this Politico story is hard to miss. Politico is reporting on a dust up between the Palin and Romney camps after an aide for Mitt Romney stated anonymously that Sarah Palin is “not a serious human being.” A Palin aide immediately charged forward to denounce aides speaking anonymously to criticize his boss — the aide of course insisted on anonymity.

The “Romney intimate” was quoted by “Time” magazine’s Mark Halperin in a Thursday column, noting “[i]f she’s standing up there in a debate and the answers are more than 15 seconds long, she’s in trouble.”

The anonymous aide responded “[f]or Washington consultants to sit around and personally disparage the governor anonymously to reporters is unfortunate and counterproductive and frankly immature.”

Unfortunately, I recognize this staffer from earlier public appearances:

Kudos: Reddit.

  1. raff,

I like that simply because I can hear some people’s blood pressure rising from here. 😀

I see cafferty called palin”pathetic”,but I think the word he was looking for comes from the “Urban Dictionary”

    ” Poser
A poser is someone who tries hard to be something they arent. Usually, posers call other people posers because they are jealous that the person they called a poser is more skater/stoner/goth/punk/rocker/grunge/etc. than they will ever be.”

  3. Byron,

The tape wasn’t edited. That would have been unnecessary. Palin often speaks in meandering, neverending sentences that make no sense. Did you see the dazed look on Couric’s face as she was listening to Palin?

That was Donny????? It looked and sounded more like Marie!

    🙂

  4. Elaine:

that was a great segment. I hope she has changed her views and learned a little something in the last 2 years. She aint no capitalist, but then I already knew that.

Was that tape edited? It sounds like she is all over the map. Although probably not because Wolf makes the comment about the amount of information presented.

Palin, bad for republicans and conservatives and bad for America.

Donny Osmond says it best but for the wrong reasons:

Maybe you and I can come up with lyrics for a satire.

  5. I know I’ve posted this video of Jack Cafferty talking about Sarah Palin before–but it’s one of my favorites.

  6. Well, let’s face it. Wouldn’t YOU want to remain anonymous if you were a Romney or a Palin aide?

Especially when your boss (Romney) states you are an “anonymous numbskull” for disparaging Palin.

And when Mr. Romney can twitter “She’s proven her smarts,”….

  7. Blouise–

This pure entertainment … Romney and Palin have their gladiators going at each other in the Republican Coliseum over “who is a serious person?” Are they serious?!

    **********

Romney vs. Palin = Dumb vs. Dumber

  8. mapetruzzi,

I agree and suggest the term “attempted governor”.

  9. “Oh … we got trouble … Right here in River City …”

This pure entertainment … Romney and Palin have their gladiators going at each other in the Republican Coliseum over “who is a serious person?” Are they serious?!

  10. There is plenty of irony to go around in this anonymous spat. Still, I was struck while reading the anonymous Palin aide’s defense of the “governor.” When you resign your office halfway through your original term, ostensibly because the conditions were either too difficult or not profitable enough, should you still be claiming the title?

  11. “Sarah Palin is “not a serious human being.” ”

Well, the truth does usually hurt …

  12. Romney–my favorite Massachusetts governor!
