Psychic Leads Police To Spot in Murder Vision in a Missing Child Case Only To Discover Another Body

Question: if you hire a psychic to find a body and she directs you to a different body, are you still obligated to pay a finder fee? Psychic Cheryl Carroll-Lagerwey is being given credit for directing police to a spot in a park in Australia in the search of a missing child. Instead, the police found the headless torso of an adult woman.

Carroll-Lagerwey is described as an “aboriginal elder” who told police: “I had a dream about a little girl being murdered and that her body was about here.”
Police believe the body is missing mother Kristi McDougall, 31.

“I won’t even mention that the place was founded by felons.”

    You just did.

BTW, does anyone recall The Simpsons episode about Bart starting a conflict with Oz over which way the toilet water spins?

  2. A non-psychic non-random explantion is that she saw someone burying the body but couldn’t see that it was bigger than a child. And then she psychiclly found the wrong body.

    Detective Yissil on the case!

Blouise: psychics are to mystics as chihuauas are to dogs, both in the sense of being a subset and in the sense of being small and yappy. Dictionary definition of mystic: “a person who achieves mystical experience or an apprehension of divine mysteries”

As adjectives they are very different.

  3. They didn’t show because they foresaw what a bummer a gig with people like themselves would be.

Here in Belgium a great illusionist sent out invitations for the first ever psychic dance to all psychics around, mentioning only the date and time of the event. No one showed.

I stand corrected. Oxygen in – CO2 out, right? As I said, I don’t know any scientists and not much science.

No, repeatable double blind tests won’t be done except by those few scientists that persevere. Again, good on them.

  7. Buckeye,
The plants could have gotten more CO2 from people praying over them. But there were also prayers of imprecation said over the others. I’m not a believer in prayer and doubt the results as repeatable, double blind tests as real science calls for haven’t been done.

  8. Buckeye, NO!!!! I didn’t know that Oscar had died…

“In the experiment I read about the plants were getting more oxygen when the experimenter prayed over them. Maybe the prayers of negation were done by people with bad breath.”

Oxygen makes people grow…not plants. The findings would have been reversed. I will send you a masochistic plant….your expectations would leave it striving for attention…..

You know that Oscar The Cat has died. Which precludes any further research.

I can think of a couple of reasons that Oscar sleeps on the bed of a dying patient. 1. The patient is drugged and doesn’t move. 2. The patient gets extra blankets which makes the bed softer. 3. The patient has family members present who make over the cat inducing him to stay in the room.

See how easy it is to debunk when experiments can’t be done?

Same with the germinating plants. In the experiment I read about the plants were getting more oxygen when the experimenter prayed over them. Maybe the prayers of negation were done by people with bad breath.

In any case, inquisitive scientists will continue to experiment and do so in the face of the scorn of their cohorts. Good on them, I say.

  10. A psychic (pronounced /ˈsaɪkɨk/; from the Greek ψυχικός psychikos—”of the soul, mental”, also called sensitive[1]) is a person who professes an ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through extrasensory perception (ESP), or is said by others to have such abilities.~Wikipedi

I would substitute the word ‘hypersensitive’. And I would say to those who call all sensitives ‘charlatans’…fooey on you! Just because YOU can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there and discernable, just ask the migrating birds…;)

    We can’t possibly know until further studies are done;
    AND:
    Does prayer effect plant seeds?

In a study on germinating seeds done by Dr. Franklin Loehr, a Presbyterian minister and scientist, the objective was to see in a controlled experiment what effect prayer had over living and seemingly non-living matter. … Time after time, the results indicated that prayer helped speed germination and produced more vigorous plants. Prayers of negation actually halted germination in some plants and suppressed growth in others.

Apparently even Duke has given up on it. I don’t know any scientists – only engineers.

It’s a pity scientists don’t have any “hitherto unexplained phenomena” to figure out. Of course there are a few yet that still haven’t got the word. Too bad they are so misguided as to still be doing experiments.

Yes, press is good, especially if you have a book to sell.

  13. Buckeye,

Duke’s been wasting a lot of money. There’s no evidence to support psychic powers, just wishful thinking. If you think scientists wouldn’t LOVE to have a hitherto unexplained phenomena to figure out, you don’t really know scientists all that well. That kind of thing is stuff they dream about.

As to not charging, sometimes press is the only reward you need.
