Throwing a Curveball: The Source Used To Justify Iraq War Admits He Made The Whole Thing Up

Curveball has finally admitted that he made the entire thing up. If you recall, we went to war in Iraq based on the claim that Saddam Hussein had developed biological weapons. That account was based on the statements of Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi, who our foreign allies warned was unreliable and clearly lying. However, President Bush and his aides were set upon invading Iraqi and relied on Curveball before the United Nations. He has now come out publicly to admit he fabricated the entire thing and could not believe the Americans relied upon his stories to launch a major war.

The interview was published on the eighth anniversary of Colin Powell’s speech to the United Nations

He says that foreign intelligence officials were so keen on confirming biological weapons that they gave him a copy of Perry’s Chemical Engineering Handbook to help communicate. He still has the book, which he used to fabricate the stories. However, he admitted to making up the stories in mid-2000.

Of course, President Obama has continued to expend treasure and lives in Iraq in the ultimate example of the economic theory of “path dependence.” We continue to fight a war based on a fabricated story because our leaders cannot risk the political repercussions to pulling out from that country. There is also no known punishment for the officials, including high-ranking CIA and Administration officials, who perpetuated this lie. At best this was an act of willful blindness and at worst knowing falsification to justify going to war.

Our intelligence officials appear to continue to accept a good fabricated story over bad facts. Recently, they paid an enormous amount of money to an imposter who pretended to be the head of Taliban in Afghanistan, here. American officials even flew the imposter to meet with Karzai before finding out that he was lying.

  1. It’s Gematria kiddies!

The Gematria value of Jesus is 888

The diameter of a circle with a circumference of 888 is equal to the gematria value of ‘bios’ which means life.

888/282 = pi (or pretty damn close)

…’that you may find ‘life’ in his name…

    Those Greeks; always thinking.

  2. Hey Tootie,

If 666 is the number of the beast, what’s the number of Jesus?

Hint (not really): If you choose Jesus over life you get pi.

  3. Osama bin Stamford:

    LOL!

You sound a bit cranky. Painted yourself into a corner?

Now, why, as a woman, would I advocate rape or be a part of system that did? Have you gone off you rocker?

    You must be nuts.

Where are the fair minded and intelligent people here asking Stam if he is off his meds? HELLO: earth to fair-minded people.

    (silence)

STAM: YOU ARE A LOON. Which means you could breed with a human and not be its relative.

It’s liberals (Wilson, FDR, LBJ) who slaughtered millions of people last century. And it’s liberals who have snuffed out the lives of 50 million tiny human creatures in the womb. Congratulations and pat yourself on the back for associating with the bloodthirsty scoundrels. But know that to do so is is irrational.

You cannot possibly cavort with that violent crowd and then accuse me of violence unless you are mentally unbalanced.

  4. Gyges:

    Oh…and you wrote:

“I still have no idea why you keep bringing up Poe.”

Did Poe found a religion with 1 billion adherents? If so, I need to criticize him too.

  5. Gyges:

    You wrote:

“I mean, since we don’t agree that Jesus actual existed, how could you expect us to agree that he was celibate? ”

Actually, the only good argument you could make would be that you don’t believe Christ was God (resurrected and so forth).

But it is incorrect to claim he didn’t exist. The historical evidence about that is solid, you just choose to ignore it or haven’t look at it.

  6. Taliban Tootie:

For a supposed christian, you are ignorant of your own “good book” as you are of the Koran. I’m not going to go piece by piece through the long and boring drivel you just posted so I will be brief.

Most of the violence (which you and your kind embrace), rape (which you and your kind embrace) and incest (so that explains why incest was so prevalent in your family) that is in the bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is condoned and sanctioned by god. If you were such a dog-fearing christian you would know this.

As to Mary? Don’t need the bible to prove it. Historians already have. It was common practice during the time of Mary that young girls, after receiving their first menses, were immediately married off to older men. Just as it was common practice for all young men to be married, which Jesus probably was. Given that, he probably had a kid or two, too.

Liberal and proud of it. Got a problem with it? Too f**king bad, Taliban.

  7. Awwwwww.

I’m not the one who sounds like they really, really need to get laid here, Tootles.

  8. Buddha:

You could breed with Stam. The off-scouring of it wouldn’t be human. Then a human could breed with it and not be breeding with a relative.

    Gosh. Problem solved.

  9. Osama bin Stamford:

I wrote: “There is no evidence from scripture that Mary was 13 at the time of conception.”

You disagreed with me and merely asserted I was wrong. To prove you are right in response to my question you have to cough up a book, chapter, and verse.

What verse in the Bible says Mary was 13 years old?

And you do realize Sarah had her first baby when she was in her 90s?

    Let me back that up:

    Genesis 16:1-3, 15-16, 17, 21:1-2

  10. Osama bin Stamford Liberal:

I see you were busy typing and proving my point about how stupid you are.

You do realize that just because the Old Testament discusses a topic, it doesn’t mean it approves of it? Any references to rape, adultery, fornication, and forth are references to condemning them, not approving them. And I am talking about rape, sexual slavery, or sex with a child. These are condemned in the Bible. The Koran enshrines these, the OT does not.

Mohammad did them and approved of them (he approved of rape of infidels), Christ did not.

You bring up Deut 22:23-24 which calls for the stoning of a man who has sex with an engaged female (who is to be stoned because she went along with it willingly).

Well which is it? Does the Old Testament think rape or fornication is wrong or right? If the OT thinks rape is right (as you suggest) then why are the couple to be stoned?

You appear to be very confused and clearly out of your league.

You brought up incest (probably because you are running out of intelligent arguments about the subject at hand or maybe have some unresolved sexual issues about this matter). And so I would like to address it momentarily because there seems to be so much ignorance in general about this matter.

Now, I want you to put on your tiny-little, itty-bitty thinking cap. I know it will only take a fraction of a moment and so I can wait.

Here goes: who is any man on earth having sex with when he has sex with any woman on earth?

Is it not, essentially his relative?

I’m wondering who you think people are having sex with to create other human beings they might not be related to, to create people which other unrelated people can have sex with?

    Critters?

Each one of us is ultimately an offspring of the original “mating” pair. And if we do what you suggest (not have sex with each other because we are related) then, the human race goes kaput. The Law of Moses (forbidding marriages to close relatives) happen some 400 years after Abraham married his half sister Sarah.

I suppose you are simply angry that the human race got a running start or didn’t interbreed with pigs. Well, again, suit yourself!

Now, I know that Democrats might want to entertain the notion of having sex with critters, but that is not what has happened to get us from point A to point B (where we are today).

I’m not saying you are a Democrat, of course.

  11. “There is no evidence from scripture that Mary was 13 at the time of conception.”

Oh yes there is evidence. Historically speaking, it was common practice of the times, Taliban, the times.

“And we are not told how Mary became pregnant.”

I thought it was Gods invisible penis??!!

  12. Tootie,

You do realize you’re talking to someone who thinks that Jesus is a telescoping of several more or less contemporary rabbis, all dressed up in mythology stolen from other religions? I mean, since we don’t agree that Jesus actual existed, how could you expect us to agree that he was celibate?

At any rate, it was a joke.

  13. Gyges:

There is no evidence from scripture that Mary was 13 at the time of conception. And we are not told how Mary became pregnant.

If you want to go tit for tat, Mohammad had sex with the little girl, a whole bunch of wives, concubines, and sex slaves; and Jesus was celibate. That is the comparison a clever person would make.

You are simply believing in fairy tales.

  14. Taliban Tootie:

Now, now, Taliban. Throwing around the term “stupid” is a form of projection, so calm down and take a deep breath.

    I’m done laughing now …

“Though for the life of me I do not recall a case of “pedophilia” in Bible”

Do keep in mind, Toots, that at the time the bible was written by those people you so greatly admire, it was common practice for much older men to marry young girls as soon as they got their first periods. Meaning, by definition, they were pedophiles.

“The Bible opposes incest, pedophilia, and rape.”

    Ah, not so much, Taliban:

Judges 5:30 – Rape and spoils of war
Judges 21:10-24 – Rape, murder and pillage
Numbers 31:7-18 – Rape, murder and pillage
Deuteronomy 20:10-14 – Rape, murder and pillage
Deuteronomy 21:10-14 – Rape of female captives
Deuteronomy 22:23-24 – Death to the rape victim
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 – Laws of rape (bonus!)
    2 Samuel 12:11-14 – Rape, baby killing
    Exodus 21:7-11 – Sex slaves
Zechariah 14:1-2 – Rape and plunder

Cain and his sister – Incest
    Abraham and Sara – Incest
    Nachor and Melcha – Incest
Lot and his two daughters – Incest
    Amram and Jochabed – Incest
Amnon and Thamar – Incestuous rape (bonus!)

“And guess where all that stuff occurred you are referring to in the Bible? You guessed it(amazing!): in the Middle East where Mohammad and company laid their foundation.”

Oh, you mean the place where Christianity was BORN and still exists today? THAT Middle East??

And don’t give me that crap that it’s the “Old Testament.” You cannot pick and choose what parts fit your silly arguments and which parts don’t.

  15. James:

    What is the alternative?

I have this God to believe in or nothing else.

What other God solves the problem of people who get away with mass murder?

How will YOU fix the problem?

Hitler and Stalin are dead and the innocents who died at their hands NEVER got justice. How could mankind make sure such men receive adequate justice even if they catch them? There is only one body to kill and hundreds of millions dead and enslaved.

I will never believe Saddam Hussein paid for what he did.

At least in the economy of my religion, they will ultimately pay (in the afterlife). Even if I pretend they pay (though I don’t pretend).

    I AM SURE.

Even if there is perfect justice from this moment forward, you cannot account for the innocent dead and the people who murdered them by the hundreds of millions throughout history–indeed recent history.

I don’t know why the world is as God has it. I’d be able to create a universe if I knew that. But I know he hates these evils as much as you and I, because it’s in the word of God. And that is enough justice for me. And his promise to settle accounts is more than you offer.

Apparently we have to live our role on the stage, as Shakespeare said:

    All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
    They have their exits and their entrances;

And thus shall it be until the end. It’s all we know.

If you don’t believe in God, there is no sense to our tragic human history. It is therefore an utterly cruel and pointless life because of the suffering of so many innocents. If you don’t believe in my God, then you have no way at all to right the wrongs, even if you are mad that God let them happen.

You are in a worse position than in believing and trusting that God will right it some day.

Why not take the best option?

  16. Tootie,

Well, the New Testament starts with a 6,000 year old impregnating a 13 year old in her sleep. So it’s got that going for it.
