Au Revoir: The Turleys Invade France

In a few hours, the Turleys will start our conquest of France. As previously announced, we are taking the kids on their first international trip for three weeks in France. We will be roughly a week in the Bordeaux region, a week in the Normandy region, and a week in Paris. Our guest bloggers have agreed to help with postings during this period, though I hope to continue to file occasional stories (including travel blogs) during this period — assuming that I can maintain both sobriety and a signal long enough to post.

We are very excited. Leslie and I love France. We will be celebrating Madie’s sixth birthday in France to make it even more memorable. I am not sure if France is ready for the Turleys but the Turleys are definitely ready for France.

O-ver there, o-ver there, send the word, send the word, o-ver there,
That the Yanks are com-ing, the Yanks are com-ing,
The drums rum-tum-ming ev’-ry where
So pre-pare, say a prayer, send the word, send the word to be-ware
We’ll be o-ver, we’re com-ing o-ver,
And we won’t come back ’til it’s o-ver O-ver There!

  1. France is nice I’m sure. But consider spending the $$ you earn in America seeing the great National Parks and vistas we have to offer. Maybe you have done that already. And at that Dollar/Euro exchange rate? Maybe try Montreal next time as a 40% discount from France and you can still make believe you are there … froggy talk and all. Just a suggestion. Have a nice time in the meanwhile.

  2. I am so jealous. Have a great vacation. Thanks Woosty for the Joan Baez.

  3. Seamus,

The Turleys did have a European vacation already filmed…Hopefully they will leave Cousin Eddie home….

  4. Ahhh! “Plaisir d’amour” is one of my favorites, but I am fond of the Joan Baez version, lovely…
