Protesting Mom Called “More Disgusting Than Any Of These Filths Down On Wall Street”

I saw this amazing clip this weekend from FOX where the anchors attacked a women because she left her kids with family and friends to participate in the Occupy Wall Street protests.

The mother, Stacey Hessler of Florida, was saying that she felt this was a historic moment for citizens to take to the streets. It is funny how such commitment is inspiring in those who share your views, but disgusting for those who do not.

The New York Post has a decidedly negative profile of her, though it seems short on independent sources. What is striking about the Fox report is the view that any mother who leaves her children to join such a protest is “filth.”

    The hippie Florida mother of four who ditched her children and banker husband to sleep in Zuccotti Park’s squalor hit rock bottom yesterday when she was hauled off in handcuffs, her dreadlocks flying wildly in every direction, for blocking a street near the New York Stock Exchange.

    Stacey Hessler, 38, was lifted off the pavement in the center of Broad Street by three cops who slapped plastic bracelets on her wrists and dragged her away kicking and screaming.

    “What did I do? What did I do?” she kept shouting.

    She was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after she blocked “vehicular and pedestrian traffic” and refused orders to move, cops said.

  5. Maybe the NYPD should stop placing themselves in the way of the people and then they wouldn’t be there to be attacked. Notice there has been no looting of stores or private property; any violence and rare it has been indeed, has been directed against the NYPD. I don’t suppose it occurs to them that the attacks and beatings of peaceful protesters might contribute to the possibility that someone would direct violence at them.
    This isn’t about protesters attacking police. This is about the NYPD co-operating with the Big Banks. They got paid; now they are supposed to finish the job. Tactics are not an issue. Lies, threats of lawsuits, violence and pressure to incite violence are all part of the NYPD tool kit. The same tool kit used by every Fascist Police State in history to put down peaceful protest. Oh yeh, there is one more……….give them time. The firehoses and rubber bullets and teargas have already come out in some cities. that behavior on the part of the police will become more common. And live ammo. let’s not forget the one thing that these bastards have that screams “I’m scared” and i will kill you to protect my money, my money, my money.

    NEW YORK — A union representing 5,000 New York City Police Department sergeants blasted Occupy Wall Street protesters on Thursday and threatened to sue them should they injure police.

    “New York’s police officers are working around the clock as the already overburdened economy in New York is being drained by ‘occupiers’ who intentionally and maliciously instigate needless and violent confrontations with the police,” said Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association. Although sergeants are higher in rank than patrol officers, they do not wear the white shirts of some of the more senior officers.

    Protesters have at times played confrontational cat-and-mouse games with the police, but incidents of serious violence directed against the NYPD by protesters in New York have been extremely rare.

    Yes the state is a god. A schizophrenic one that showers one set of individuals with favors and entitlements and another set of individuals that happen to have been born in a different geographic location with bombs and depleted uranium rounds.

    I submit what happened in oakland as merely the most recent display of this line of thinking. Government employees beat protestors who are clamoring for more of the very orginization that is visiting violence upon them.

  9. Rafflaw, OS, I started thinking that there would be a crackdown on the protests as soon as it was announced that Quadaffi was killed and the MSM had the video on an endless loop. Protest’s in dozens of cities and the MSM is celebrating the death of a tyrant? I bet that scared the crap out of Washington and Wall Street. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if some Agency at the Washington level didn’t send out an advisory that the rabble shouldn’t be allowed to start thinking they had the real power, a show of force was called for.
