Texas Will Not Revoke License of Bigot Gun Instructor Who Agrees To Train “The Enemy”

The Texas Dept. of Public Safety will not revoke or suspend the license of Crockett Keller, a handgun instructor who ran a radio ad telling Muslims and non-Christian Arabs that he would not teach them how to handle a firearm. Keller has agreed that he will train Muslims while adding that he views them as “the enemy.”

The DPS statement said Crockett Keller agreed that he would not refuse handgun instruction “to anyone based on national origin, race or religion.” Note that did not include political associations so liberal Muslims might have to shop around.

Keller insists that “I’m not a mean individual,” but wanted the world to know that liberals and Muslims are not welcomed. His commercial stated that “If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner-in-chief, please do not take this class . . . Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class. Once again, with no shame, I am Crockett Keller.”

As long as Muslims do not mind being called “enemies” of the nation, they can enjoy Keller’s classes. Of course, all of those “enemies” serving in our military in Iraq and Afghanistan will not need the training since they are already defending Keller’s right to denounce people on the basis of their faith.

  1. I did not own the shirts. It was my husband. He owned several. I was just glad to get out of there.

  2. SwM, you don’t owe Yepp any explanation at all, as Gene and angryman point out above.

I will wear what I please, wherever I want to wear it. As long at it is not obscene or illegal, why not? If it steps on the toes of some troll, so be it. One’s politics, of all things, should be sacrosanct. The attitudes expressed by Yepp and our firearms instructor bigot is part of our problem in this country today.

  3. Well now. There is the kind of thinking that sets my teeth on edge.
Why wear an Obama shirt in Amarillo?
Well, I would never have thought of it until now but I would now do it because someone says I shouldn’t. Thats what defending your rights is all about. It doesn’t matter that you never step on a crack but when someone says I shouldn’t; I must. Just to prove that I can? Yes exactly. Because the most important tim e to exercise a right is when someone wants to take it away. Even if you almost never use that right otherwise. That’s how we keep our rights. If you don;t they will take them without complaint. Start trouble? You’re damn skippy. trouble is how we stop our rights from being taken. When they talk about fighting to protect our rights; they aren’t talking about going to Afghanastan. The fight for our rights is right here in the good ol’ USA. And we better win that fight before the Fascist right takes what few rights we have left.

  4. Yepp, We were only passing through on the way to Colorado. Stopped to eat at a cafe. It was north of Amarillo by Dalhart.

  5. Perhaps some veterans can occupy his class and ask him, point blank 🙂 to diss them in front of everyone else.

  6. “Then why wear an Obama shirt in Amarillo, unless you were just looking for trouble.”

Because it is your 1st Amendment right to do so if you should so wish is reason enough.

  7. Do you scream fire in theaters much? Would you paint your face black at a Klan rally? Then why wear an Obama shirt in Amarillo, unless you were just looking for trouble.

  8. That there is such a low intellect racist in Texas running around with a gun is neither a surprise nor a huge concern in and of itself. What really disturbs me is the thousand, tens of thousand, perhaps millions of conservatives who agree with this cretin. Many have loudly expressed their agreement on right wing radio and blogs and they plan to support that agreement with their vote for (any)one of the GOP candidates.

  9. I would not teach a muslim how to use a fire arm either. SOrry to say but the dangers are too great.

  10. OS, The experience I had near Amarillo in 2008 with a whole group of people like this guy was not too pleasant. My husband was wearing an Obama t-shirt.

  11. Would you expect any different result with a person that is all hat…

  12. I just had a fun fantasy:

Pack one of his classes with gay black liberal Muslims. All wearing Obama t-shirts or campaign buttons.

  13. Well said Professor. There are plenty of Muslims serving to protect this mental giant. From now on, I consider all Texans with big straw hats to be the enemy.
