A disturbing lawsuit has been filed against the Baltimore County Police Department by Linda Johnson over the death of her husband, Architect Carl D. Johnson on May 27, 2010. Johnson was pepper sprayed, tasered, and beaten before his death on the way home from Bible study class.
Linda Johnson is suing the Maryland State Police, Baltimore County Police, individual commanders and six officers. Her lawsuit claims that her husband suffered a diabetic attack after calling a friend and crashing on I-795. First to the scene was State Trooper Davon Parker who pepper sprayed Johnson after he lowered his window of his car, which had crashed into the median. When Johnson got out of the car, Parker clubbed him on the knee and then allegedly another officer (Loss) clubbed him. When Baltimore County Police Officer Nicholas Wolferman arrived, he also allegedly beat Johnson. Three more officers arrived and one, Baltimore County Officer Andrew O’Neill tasered Johnson twice. Officer Loss then allegedly punched him in the face. Eight more officers then arrived — leaving one wondering if there were any officers left at headquarters. The complaint states that “there were approximately 52 individuals that responded to the scene.”
We have been following cases involving the use of tasers and excessive force by police. However, Baltimore has been cited as a standout jurisdiction in the use of tasers — leading to calls for investigation.
Johnson was only 48 and lives behind his wife of 27 years. Their son, Darren Johnson, predeceased his parents and Linda has now lost her husband.

God help Amerika, cos the Devil’s in charge now!
These guy are the same types of Trayvon-Martin-type thugs that attacked George Zimmerman except they act under color (blue) of law. When will we finally stand up to these thugs and put them in their places? They are supposed to be our servants not the other way around.
“Individuals have international duties which transcend the national obligations of obedience…therefore individual citizens have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent crimes against peace and humanity from occurring”

What an absolute horror it must be to fall victim of Fascist Amerika. The really sad part is how many Americans actually think that the Fascist Amerikan Policed State won’t have any effect on them, as if they are invisible or immune if you will. It is going to eventually find you….the only thing missing from Fascist America are the mass murders…..in plain sight that is….but give it time, just give it a little time.
How shocking and nightmarish it has to be for Americans to watch their Statue of Liberty twisting, bending, contorting and convulsing into a DARK EVIL FASCIST QUEEN.
Typical pig graduates of Jethro Bodine Middle School. Do these thugs have to pass any psych tests before being put on the street? May Mr. Johnson rest in peace through God’s mercy. Although no amount of $$ will return Mrs. ohnson’s dear husband, I hope she gets every penny she is suing for. God be with her.
And who will pay for the lawsuit? The cops, personally? Of course not. Some sleazy lawyers, including the judge, will work out a deal that puts taxpayers on the hook for the awards, and no penalty, not even a professional penalty, on the cops. Those apes will continue on as usual.
People – wake up to this – when an officer is beating you, he is violating his oath. At such time, he LEGALLY IN THAT MOMENT, loses the legal protection of his badge.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!! You may at such time, treat such an officer as you would any civilian beating you up. YOU MAY WOUND AND EVEN KILL HIM in your self-defense!
And for the sake of all law-abiding citizens, to make this a better world, you should. But as the beaten one, you have motive, so you need help. And we must all help. Stop standing by.
If we do not identify murderous police, forget about bringing them to justice through “the system” which is now totally corrupt, and exact justice ourselves, they will continue to kill us. When cops make themselves the enemy, treat them as such.
The people of Baltimore have the complete right and obligation at this point to gather in the thousands, fully armed, maraud into the stations with the murderous officers, and threaten the slaughter of every cop in the house if the killers are not turned over for private judgment.
Or just go on being slaves.
So the first response to a traffic accident is to pepper spray the driver, knowing shock is a common result of accidents? Then punch, club and taser the accident victim? This is inexcusable brutality upon a man in a state of shock. I hope the lawsuit is successful and these officers pay personally for the man’s death! And some dare call this fascist pigs “heroes” when they die!
The next American Revolution is coming! Does it really surprise people that the Police department are arming themselves with violent officers they want people who will stand and fight not take off the badge and run! We are waiting to long to start this fire!!! They will over come us at this point.
This is a real question; not a provocation. What would happen if these officers were prosecuted, convicted, and executed under felony murder (presuming Maryland law has it)?
Would it dissuade the police from such outrageous behavior? Would it cause more mindless, tribal violence on their part? Would it do nothing?
The real problem, in my view, stems from the concept of sovereign immunity. Once you have two sets of rules, the present outcome is the only outcome.
It really is a “color” issue. “Blue” vs. “not-Blue”.
Eventually the courts usually stall off the showdown by “discovering” some pressure-venting “rights” for the untermenschen.
If they do not, the police will discover, rather brutally, just how outnumbered they are. The bagpipes will blow. The mouthpiece media will hand-wring.
These “Law Enforcement Officers” will die in the street, utterly confused, bleating the eternal refrain; “But, I was only following orders…”.
Yes. We know.

A taser is a weapon of deatly force. If you “Taze” someone, or however you spell it, you are likely to kill the person, especially if they have any heart condition. To rectify the situation the victim’s family needs to sue the cop for wrongful death and take a deposition of the shooter. Let him pontificate about how a taser is just something wholesome to stop the victim from being unruly or violent or whatever and is not dangerous to that person. Then subpoena the cop’s mom to a depo and with cop there ask someone to tase his mom in front of him. Get the reaction on video. Request a court order to tase the cop on video. Same with the Chief of Police and the entire Police Board. Every kid should have a tazer for self defense and defense of dog and others.
When the lawsuits start mounting up the damage awards against the cops, their superiors, and the municipalities who hire the cops, then the practice will stop.
Mr. Turley…can you advise me on this??
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington(CREW) and National Security Archive(NSA) filed a suit against the EOP for email and records…and the judge ordered a settlement…. http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20091214/index.htm …
my case against the EOP was for emails and documents during the same time period as CREWS and NSAs suit, but the judge ruled against me….is the judiciary subject to political manipulation…see my suit on FBI wiretapping the Supreme Court… w.voinche v. FBI, 940 F.Supp. 323(DDC 1996)….no this is Amerika….
What a waste…..
I don’t get it either, really. I stayed away from seeking employment in the PD for the simple reason that I know I don’t always have the best control over my temper and aggression, especially once the adrenaline starts flowing. Putting recent combat vets into police uniform is bound to have horrid consequences, and coupled with the blue wall, it’s going to make for more and more horror stories. A good website for this is policemisconduct.net which is the CATO institute’s tracker for police brutaltiy and misconduct- for those who think that police misconduct is a bug, that website is the main feature.
Idealist, I wonder if it’s the environment OUTSIDE THE ACTUAL MILITARY BATTLEFIELDS that is making it more permissible for cops to tazer their “enemies” to death. I see the kids (even ordinary kids, not just wild-eyed violent juvenile delinquents or dope-heads) playing video games while cheerfully speaking with their buddies on the phone: “It irritates me when you kill me!” “I got you!” stuff like that (even stuff Zimmerman reported hearing from Martin, come to think of it, like “you got me”).
These tazers are kinda like the guns they all play with so much in video games. The names of the games are themselves creepy and deathly. The gang element is obvious; the inhuman and non-human merge; the whole thing is very weird and seemingly psychically disturbed.
You’d have to wonder why a second cop might not MODERATE the behavior or a first cop, why instead it seems to kick up the volume. Why wouldn’t someone arriving fresh on the scene try to control the conflict rather than adding to it? These are all very troubling issues. I’ll tell you one thing: I was surrounded by four cop cars once. They detained me 45 minutes and then said, “You’re good to go” without giving me even a traffic ticket. I had no idea what the stop was about. But they were looking weird and wild-eyed and I was ready for something, not knowing what. And I think they might have mistaken me for someone else (they never even searched the car!) but they were very obviously pumping adrenalin although I was one, and unarmed, and surrounded, and they were all armed and on high alert. I will bet that a wrong move or a wrong-sounding word from me would have made that weird scene end up differently. I am glad never to go back and find out.
What is this pack mentality when it comes to beatings?
