Sen. Lindsey Graham (R. S.C.) is always good for a sound bite (though civil libertarians are still smarting from “free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war.”). Now Graham has identified the greatest threat to the GOP: the declining numbers of “angry white guys.”
Graham told the Washington Post that “The demographics race we’re losing badly. We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”
It is not clear if this is a decline in white males alone or whether the demographic decline of whites (including white men) has been magnified by the decline in anger among white men. There is also the seasonal aspect of anger to fit into the calculation. For example, I tend to get very angry when the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers. Indeed, if the calculation is based on raw anger levels instead of individual angry men, I could easily make up for reduced numbers of males when the Packers prevail against God’s team. (Of course, with Romney’s selection of a die-hard Packers fan for his Vice Presidential candidate, my anger issues are unlikely to be addressed by the current ticket).
The key is to reach angry men at offices and funnel that anger from common anger producing objects like computers to President Obama with slogans like “Obama Jams Copiers”:
Or “Obama Built That (Computer)”:
Or “she was talking to Obama”:

Angry Liberal White Men on the Rise?
Capt Black says yes.
“Angry White liberal males might be on the rise at precisely the time when such rage is better spent registering voters; peacefully protesting and lobbying decision makers. They’re free to choose criminal acts but should understand they’re on their own if they do.”

the guy is definitely a cretin [the guy with the facebook page not Clint].
What can you say,

Let’s hope this was not a call made by a angry white male who gave a pretty good speech last night:
(HuffPo). One has to wonder if the woman was arrested for breach of contract … since the man was not arrested.
The next Angry Man In Chief Hopeful, Mittster Romney, made fun of Obama for wanting to do something to stop the oceans from rising.
The thousands of deniers at the Republican Convention laughed out loud at the ridicule of scientists.
So, lets peer into the future to see where this is headed:
The angry white man in chief said this about wobble mouth Akin:
(Karl Rove). I guess Rove is going to perform a late term abortion on Akin.
I feel that as an actor, Clint has demonstrated a great use of immobility. He stands and stares, we never see him walking.
I suspect that the studios convinced him that that was his signature. So convinced that he let his spine be fused to insure keeping it always.
Unfortunately, it has spread to his mind, or at least to his delivery of speechs. But then that matches the state of his listeners minds too. Game, Set, MATCH.
“Clint Eastwood delivered a brilliant speech last night.”
If you have to use a prop to strengthen your metaphor, it’s the performance, not the speech that’s brilliant.
Clint Eastwood is a closet Democrat….that makes my day 🙂
Bron,
“Clint Eastwood delivered a brilliant speech last night.”
Where did he deliver it? Certainly not at the Republican convention!
I’d like to know what your definition of “brilliant” is.
I thought Eastwood’s speech wasn’t terribly coherent.
Cross post, as it is about the Repugnants, as a party of idiots.

The first I remember reading were billboard signs. It seems that they are the first thing I have stopped reading.
If the religious will permit me the freedom of speech, I will support their sign’s use of many messages.
Here’s an analogy which may upset the religious, and politicians as well. Inspired by the convention, in fact.
————————————————–
Politics is a lot like religion.
Whatever they promise it will come in the great bye n bye, if it comes at all.
Most likely something else will come instead, for which they will claim credit, or blame it on the mysteries of ??????!
And, as in religion, folks believe it as long as it is what they learned as a child.
Add to that a little pandering to your pride of being an (X, or Y or Z) American, being threatened by the hellfires of (Satan) Obama, and also if you leave the party. Lastly, you must go out and save others to the church.
The more believers we are, then the happier the Almighty will be, he will reward us more, and our pleasures of belonging to the one true and righteous church/party will increase.
Follow an evidence chain involving reason? Not sure I can do it myself. Am sure Republican supporters don’t want to bother. “Just believe in my ol’ timey religion.”
Bron – 2 things
He’ll be in that chair another 4 years given the inexplicable clown car of clods the GOP has assembled to remove him.
and
Funny but it was the former VP under Boy Blunder who told a sitting Senator to go F himself not the current President. Add to that the fact that it was completely in character for Darth Cheney, you can imagine him saying that. The same cannot be said for President Obama.
Eastwoods who schtick last night was beyond weird, it was something that might have been written for a student council election and was preformed as if it were a cold reading.
Well, I am no expert. but IMHO the chair is an object to project your hate upon, in response to what you hear Clint say. It helps the hate and scorn to find an anchor. The crowd seemed confused, so guess that speechwriter will get fired.
They even may have considered a cardboard Obama, but the lawyers advised against it. And the SS promised to spray the crowd with bullets, and have a few drone hits targeted at certain key figures.
I simply wish these angry white men were angry at real things about Obama and America. Not completely made up baloney meant to frighten people like them.
Do they have to lie all the time, even when they are critical….?
It makes their anger look ridiculous.

“Do I really have to explain that?”
*******************
I guess so given this from those Tea Party creeps out there who the Repubs pander to with their macho hero “
DummyDirty Harry”http://lezgetreal.com/2011/12/ron-paultea-party-supporter-threatens-to-kill-obamas-in-racist-rant/
The keynote speech by Gov. Chris Christie was all about him, not the Mittster.
Like this:
Clint Eastwood is the suave angry white man who made AY’s day, but not only that, he replaced The Man Who Must Not Be Named, who was watching from an undisclosed location.
Mespo,
You’re being insensitive to the angry white male…… But, you’re making my day……
mespo:
A cutting motion across the throat in the context of hollywood means to stop filming. Or stop the action, meaning to put a stop to Obama as president not to kill him.
Do I really have to explain that?
Bron:
UVA’s Larry Sabado had it right on his Twitter feed:
“I’d feel better if I knew for sure that Clint doesn’t see anyone in the chair. :)”
I think a mean speech embodies “make my day” and cutting motions across the throat. Call me sensitive.
OS,
I agree with you that Eastwood’s speech was bizarre. He needs to stick to a script. And maybe have soomeone else prepare the script! I think George W. could have done a better job saying nothing.
