Gaydar? Gulf States To Develop Test To “Detect” Homosexuals To Bar Entry Into Muslim Countries

$(KGrHqFHJCUFECuZN7JtBRyJ-i4uP!~~60_12504px-Coat_of_Arms_of_Kuwait-2.svgKuwait is reportedly developing a test that it says will be able to “detect” homosexuals to prevent their entry into that country and other Gulf nations. It is perfectly bizarre, but Kuwait believes that it is possible to have some type of anti-gay detection system. It is not clear what type of test it would be since, despite stereotypes, leaving a Barbra Streisand album in the middle of a rope snare on the floor of the terminal may not catch all gay men. (Indeed, as a Broadway show fan, I would be the first hanging upside down in the Kuwait airport clutching a copy of Funny Girl). I have long wondered where all of those phrenologists went after the collapse of their “science” in the detection of criminals from head shapes.

The reports indicate that our allies in Kuwait believe some clinical test is possible to spot homosexual travelers. It is not clear how they will determine who would be put through the clinical test. However, the potential penalty is great. Homosexuals can receive up to 10 years in jail if they are under 21. Homosexuality is also illegal in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. However, it is a death penalty offense in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen and Mauritania. Of course, legalized pedophilia in the married of young girls in some of those countries is not only legal but moral. In Kuwait, an eight-year-old girl dies after her “husband” forces her to have sex but the country is trying to find a magic test to find homosexual travelers.

Best one liner in a long time! 🙂

  2. So somebody please tell me why the “Gulf States” would be a good tourist area?

  3. My apologies professor, when I read Gulf States, my “CynicDar” lit up and I thought Gulf of Mexico states. ….. The south in many ways is rising.
To see how regressed some Countries are, help me realize that good things are happening in the US.

  4. Is there, by any chance, the possibility that some sort of common sense test be applied in regions where idiocy is rampant? Perhaps then hypocritical men who come up with these sorts of inane ‘laws’ could be prevented from ever being in a position to influence the lives of others.
I shudder to think that there are thousands of gay people living under that sort of regime let alone anyone trying to enter the country.
God save us all from these sorts of morons. Really, it’s just incredible if true.

In fact, if such a test could be applied I would like to extend it to all would-be politicians. No common sense = no chance.

  5. Dredd, It must be a time warp in that region. That is the only explanation.

  6. I have a dear friend who grew up in UAE and his take of passion in the Middle East has always been, “men are for comfort, women are for babies.” The men he knows swing both ways, usually more towards men. He said it’s simply assumed but never, ever discussed.

No small-minded laws or made-up technology are going to change human nature.

  7. Billions of U.S. Tax dollars go to these repressive regimes. Maybe it’s time to ween ourselves off foreign oil and convert to clean energy.

Many experts estimate the real cost of gasoline is about $15 per gallon at the pump if it were properly valued in the free market to include oil security, oil wars, pollution, acid rain, cleanup costs, asthma, lung cancers, etc.

Why do we fund nations that despise American values?

I read this yesterday and first thought it was an Onion report. Funny, how many of the stories coming out of the Middle Ages region of the world sound like Onion spoofs. Hopefully, when folks watch or read Aljazeera, they remember Qatar is the country that sponsors them.

    LOL.

A new spatial dimention unfettered by lines on a map.

    Like gerrymandered congressional districts.

  9. OT: Apparently the NC state house police have created a way to detect “anarchists”. Once detected the small, 18 member police force then collects “intelligence” on these anarchists, the General Assembly Chief Jeff Weaver stated while giving testimony during the trial of one of the first “Moral Monday” protesters.

“Moral Monday” was the weekly protest against the series of extreme right-wing/ALEC legislative moves during the last session in which 900+ people were arrested. Most arrested were described as retirement aged, concerned citizens and regular people worried about the dramatic change to environmental, education, and healthcare law.

Now in NC: Being involved in a political protest which opposes the conservative majority = “anarchists”

  10. I’m laughing……. because these same people haven’t developed toilet paper yet, and are STILL USING THE MIDDLE FINGER ON THEIR LEFT HANDS…….

  11. Didn’t Michael Jackson perform in a Gulf State? Oh wait, he wasn’t gay!!
