Second American Dies Fighting For The Islamic State After Abandoning His Nine Children

xjidhadi-pic-isis-pagespeed-ic-8jv64o2crt1-e1409314714373A second American has died fighting for the terrorist organization ISIS, or Islamic State — a group that is so extreme and bloodthirsty that even Al Qaeda leaders have stood against it. The latest American to die is Abdiraaman Muhumed from Minneapolis, who notably left behind nine children to seek paradise in martyrdom as a terrorist.

Muhamed was a Somali-American who appeared to see nothing immoral in abandoning nine children to seek his own salvation by joining a Muslim army that has been beheading nonbelievers, kidnapping women, and engaging in the mass execution of unarmed men. He is believed to be one of as many as 15 Minnesota Somali-Americans who left their homes to join ISIS. They have been reportedly joined by as many as 300 other Americans and thousands of Westerners.

140528195528-tsr-jamjoom-american-suicide-bomber-syria-00002127-story-topA week earlier, Douglas McAuthur McCain, 33, a U.S. citizen from California, died fighting for the Islamic militants and Muhamed may have died in the same battle. In addition, a U.S. citizen from Florida, Moner Mohammad Abusalha, reportedly killed himself in a suicide bombing against Syrian government troops earlier this year. Moner Mohammad Abusalha posed with a kitten before his death. I suppose to show his more gentle side when he was not blowing people up.

xmn-isis.jpg.pagespeed.ic.LjgXFSY4rAAs a father, I was particularly struck by the willingness of Abdiraaman Muhumed to abandon his wife and children (to be supported by others or possibly the state). In addition to murdering people in the name of Islam, he also saw seeking paradise through martyrdom as perfectly moral while leaving his children to fend for themselves. It is part of the twisted morality of these Islamic extremists. By the way, the Islamic State just released another video that proudly showed it marching stripped captured Syrian soldiers into the desert and shooting them. While most of us are repulsed by images of ISIS members displaying severed heads and massacring people, some like Muhumed and Abusalha are drawn by those same images to the Islamic State.

  1. This was the original intent of public school/college.

This virile stud made 9 kids. Congratulations, hombre!

    9 x $20K Tuition = $180K.

Taxpayers are burdened with $180K annually for his children’s tuition.

12 x $180 = $2,160,000.00 to get all his kids through high school.

Guess what. The taxpayer also pays for, wait for it, college.

America ben berry, berry good to me. I’ll say.

The base cost for this man, paid by the taxpayer, is $2.160 Million.

Now let’s add in welfare, food stamps, WIC, extended unemployment, babysitters, HHS, HUD, rent control/subsidies, social services, Obamacare, etc.

Just because this guy can grow a beard, the American taxpayer owes his clan countless millions.

If he can’t talk a charity into giving him free stuff, how the hell does he talk elected officials into giving it to him.

I just hope the teachers union is merciful and the striking teachers don’t go out on strike, boosting these figures even higher. Please, oh powerful, omnipotent, one-part, collectivist state, dictatorship of the proletariat, have mercy on us taxpayers.

Damn, if I didn’t have to go to work tomorrow, I’d consider joining the revolution.

The inmates have taken over the asylum.

  2. Dredd, oh my gosh, the unintended consequences of a foreign policy that meddles in other countries’ business in order to nation build. When has this ever worked? When is the US going to learn its lesson? General Wesley Clark’s words, regarding the war in Iraq, wow. The Covert Origons of ISIS video is something everyone should take the time to watch. Now I’m going to watch your Police video.

… I do wonder when did the surge in Islamic fundamentalism really begin in earnest?
    =========================
Long after Christian and Jewish fundamentalism began when Mithraism morphed.

As to the ISIS / ISIL of today, like I said in the first comment on this post, it is a western rebranding of al-Qaeda.

    Here is one example:

  4. Squeeky,

ISIS is punking for pesos in Juarez, Mexico?

I was going to slack off during the Memorial Day holiday and upcoming 9/11,
but decided to do as I have done in the past. Keep a lot of bottled water, cash and SUV with full tank of gas.
Stay away from traffic tunnels, bridges, shopping malls and other soft targets. Be safe!

  5. Well, we may get a chance to see ISIS in action for ourselves quite soon! From Drudge to here:

Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source. “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.

Sooo, I am loading the clip into my AK-47 just to be on the safe side. I am trying to get the pointy thingy on the end of it to stick out, but I can’t seem to do it.

  6. Eric, I should’ve specified I was directly responding to Michael Haz’s comment. I can agree with your comment that here are Muslims who fight against terrorists. I know that not all Muslims are not radicalized by the mere nature of the religion, or it’s Holy book, the Koran.

  7. Annie,

My bad. Right – your daughter is a Navy hospital corpsman (medic in my language). Navy works equally well for the Barbary Wars, anyway.

  8. Annie: “Are all Muslims going to become fundamentalists? Are all Muslims going to be radicalized because of the Koran?”

By genocidal selection and convert-or-die compulsion? Maybe. By choice? Obviously not all of them given that al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, etc, target and kill a heck of a lot more Muslims than anyone else. A lot of Muslims have fought and are fighting the terrorists. We’ve fought alongside a lot of Muslims against the terrorists.

The problem with Qutbist Islam is that it’s not just a kooky cult. While controversial and disputed, it is a legitimate strain of Islamic interpretation that’s an effective hybrid with Marxist revolutionary method (again, not ideology). Marxist revolutionary zealots of various types have been totalitarian and caused a lot of harm on shakier ideological grounds than Qutbist Islam.

See the article I linked at August 29, 2014 at 12:49 pm for a brief overview.

  9. I’d hate to think Christians or Jews would take some parts of the Old Testament Bible as a way to live their lives.

  10. Annie,

My quibble with Barrett’s brief is he is glib and loose with the history of ‘European colonialism leaving secular regimes in its wake’, which may have been a shortcut compelled by the video-short format because he does acknowledge it’s more complicated than that, but he correctly identifies the 1950s-1960s as the period where the modern incarnation arose.

As far as prior incarnations of Islamic fundamentalists conflicting with American political economic affairs, an episode you may find interesting as a Marine mom is the Barbary Wars.

  11. Are all Muslims going to become fundamentalists? Are all Muslims going to be radicalized because of the Koran? There is something MORE that drives these people who go down the path these guys who are going to fight with ISIS, go. It’s too easy just claiming it’s the nature of Islam itself. There are reasonable people in both Christianity and Islam that do not take the Bible or the Koran completelly literally.

  12. Annie,

That’s correct – it did coincide. Your question, though, was when did the movement “begin in earnest”. That’s 1950s-1960s.

    1. “What are the roots of Islamic fundamentalism?”

      Um…the Koran.

You might want to read Willful Blindness:A Memoir of The Jihad by Andrew McCarthy, and also The Truth About Muhammad:Founder of The World’s Most Intolerant Religion by Robert Spencer.

You might want to pick up a copy of this two volume work, Male Fantasies by Klaus Theweleit. It is worth it for the artwork alone. Here is a synopisis I found online about it.

Male Fantasies was a wonderfully over-the-top study of the relations between misogyny and fascism. More precisely, it was a kind of left-Freudian analysis of the Freikorps, which was a proto-Nazi militia in Germany just after the end of World War I. In analyzing letters, fiction, and propaganda created by members of the Freikorps, Theweleit uncovered a configuration in which militarism, misogyny, and anti-Semitism were driven by a fear of dissolving boundaries, a reactive need to affirm the body’s hardness and invulnerability, a phobic resistance to the “oceanic,” and to flows and flexibilities of all sorts: these latter being associated with the maternal, the sexual, the feminine, etc. Theweleit both grounded this configuration very closely in the particularities of time, place, culture, and social class; and suggested how the pathology he uncovered had larger resonances throughout the history of misogynistic Western culture.

Basically, Theweleit offered an update of (the early) Wilhelm Reich’s analysis of “the mass psychology of fascism” and of rigidified, repressive “character armor.” What Theweleit added to Reich was a brilliant and omnivorous pop culture sensibility, a decided feminist slant, and a kind of gonzo theoretical style. (He is always excessive, and often quite funny as well).

  14. In he first paragraph,
“…and coincided with a Islamic revival thought the Arab world.”

Eric I took this to mean that this fundamentalism revival took root in the rest of the Arab world, meaning also OUTSIDE of Palestine.
