Louis Farrakhan has long been dismissed by most people as a race-baiting crank. However, Farrakhan’s latest missive to his Nation of Islam followers is particularly incendiary. He suggests that ebola and other diseases were developed by the United States to “depopulate” the world of black people. What is dangerous is that thousands actually believe Farrakhan’s conspiracy theories. Notably, this conspiracy is very close to the one being spread among remote villages of Africa where health care workers are being killed because they are viewed as spreading the disease or working for those who created it.
Of course, by spreading the Ebola conspiracy theory, Farrakhan makes it more likely that blacks will die from the disease, which was first diagnosed at a remote village near the Central African Republic border on the Ebola river in 1976.
In his message to followers, Farrakhan states:
What is the method that they are going to use to depopulate? Through civil wars in which depleted uranium and Agent Orange are used. . . . Another method is disease infection through bio-weapons such as Ebola and AIDS, which are race targeting weapons. There is a weapon that can be put in a room where there are Black and White people, and it will kill only the Black and spare the White, because it is a genotype weapon that is designed for your genes, for your race, for your kind.
After rattling off other aspects of the conspiracy from fast food to genetically altered crops (that sterilize people), Farrakhan adds:
What kind of mind could take you in a room and give you an inoculation that you think is one thing, but it is something else? See, nobody could do this but a devil. I’m not talking about some spook devil—I’m talking about a real devil that can breathe and has hands and a brain to think evil!
I don’t want anyone to think I’m a racist; if any of you that are here that think of yourselves as White, don’t look at me like I’m a hater, because everything I say, I can prove it and will die on it! I’m not against any race; I am against the evil that men of that race are planning against my people.
No, none of that is racist. The business of how white people are spreading disease to kill black people is completely sane and non-racial.
What is incredible is that suggestions that black people should resist inoculations as a vehicle for genocide by white people. That again is what is being spread in Africa where ebola victims are being “rescued” from clinics and villages have barred teams from entering to help stop the disease. Of course, we have had many of these brave doctors and health care doctors — including many white health care professionals — not only put themselves in harm’s way to help Africans but have died as a result.

Mel – let’s talk about the Tuskegee Experiments. We start with the fact that some 400 black men had syphilis. Had they been in monogamous relationships they are unlikely to have gotten it. So the disease is on them.
Now let’s go to the good-bad part. The government pretended to treat these men so they could track the disease through the population. Idea is excellent from a science standpoint. Horrible from an ethics standpoint. Was it legal, it seems so.
They did not infect the men with the disease regardless of what some people say. And there was a group of men from the community who did not have the disease who were included just in case they ended up with the disease.
The results of this experiment is why when you get a major STD you have to report all your partners so they can be tracked down and treated. Experiments like this is why you have to get permission to work on human test subjects. Universities have committees that approve experiments on human test subjects.
Meanwhile, Farrakan spares no one in his imbecility.

The US government never admitted to infecting those in the Tuskegee experiments with syphilis. But it did admit to infecting well over a thousand people with syphilis and gonorrhea in Guatemala.
A “physician” named John Charles Cutler was involved in both atrocities.

Sure, Farrakhan can be a nut. But we might want to be a bit careful before we give the US government/military or US corporations the benefit of the doubt from accusations of highly unethical experiments – especially as regards people of color.
One of the more famous examples is the syphilis study conducted in Tuskegee that has been mentioned above. But that’s hardly the only one. In 2010, it was revealed that, in Guatemala, the US Health Service had actually infected people with syphilis and gonorrhea for their experiments instead of merely watching them physically and mentally decay until death.
Quite recently, in this century, artificial blood was given to accident victims without their consent. The experimental blood caused an increase in mortality and other side effects. Coincidentally, much of that experimentation was in inner city hospitals.
The list goes on. Human experimentation by the US government, its military and its corporations has a chilling history that does not seem to be over.

Ebola was decimating people in the African continent, so health care personnel of all ethnicities volunteered to go over there to fight it, at great personal risk. Some of these heroes got terribly sick, and some have died.
And what does he do? Does he praise their courage and their efforts? No, he claims that Whites created this disease to kill Blacks, and to beware of inoculations. And for any fools who are naive enough to believe him, what will that do to their trust in Western medicine, seeking out treatment?

Patient Zero told the ER he was in an Ebola province just prior to arriving here. Now, that’s on the hospital, but if the shit hit the fan do you want this incompetent gang that can’t shoot straight making decisions? I sure as hell don’t.
If a white person made the same accusations against a group of black people, that person would be attacked as a racist.
The failure of the US to take proper precautions at its order to stop travelers like the man from Liberia was in part motivated by a desire to not be considered racist. We have lost our ability to be rational when race is involved.
Well, I guess we will get to see if Farakan’s theory, that Ebola is target only towards black people, is correct pretty soon. Patient Zero in Dallas has exposed several actual white people and probably some Hispanics as well, who may or may not be classified as white.
When white people, hispanics, asians and others start dropping over and puking blood, can we dispense with the nonsense and try to stop this from becoming a world wide epidemic. Get back to race hating after we see who is left standing.
