  1. BS, mespo. I’m talking black neighborhoods. The only blacks you know are the Russell Wilson’s of the world and you sold him out in the name of atheism. You got a snoot full of expensive scotch watching the game, counselor. Go sleep it off. You’re embarrassing yourself.

  2. I have been to 47 of the 50 US States. I commented on going to Alabama for my 47th in November. Spent time in Huntsville I had a sister who lived in Houston and Atlanta and been there many times. Additionally, we have friends[black] who live in Atlanta. I have spent a lotta time in Miami. Been to Charlotte, DC, Nashville, New Orleans, Biloxi[lot of time there], Little Rock, etc. I’ve been to Dallas, El Paso, Tampa. I could go on. You can posture and play games. mespo. But, I know your ilk. You are a coward. You would never go into the northern inner city neighborhoods, I lived and worked, w/o a police escort. I lived and worked daily in those neighborhoods. That’s in the record.

  3. . I go to the inner city, that’s where some great food and culture exist, amongst the depravity. I go w/ black friends.
    ======================================

How much do you pay your guides, oh great white hunter?

  4. Nick:

Oh and by the way, I’ve got close family in some inner city areas of Cleveland, Pittsburg, Philly, and Gary. The folks in those neighborhoods where I spent plenty of summers would make you cry.

  5. Nick:
I’ve been to more northern cities than you’ve been to southern ones. That says all anyone needs to say to disprove your latest statement from the far side. Do you like looking like an uneducated blowhard?

  6. Paul:

Poverty, powerlessness, lack of proper unbringing and frustration puts people in prison. The race of the person has little to do with it.

    1. mespo – So, because the Democrats have been losing the War on Poverty there are a lot of people in jail. I call BS. I have taught kids from this culture. You make choices in life. You either choose to sell drugs or you do not. You join the gang or you do not.
Bad choices put people in prison. Ask Bernie Madoff.

    2. mespo wrote: “Poverty, powerlessness, lack of proper unbringing and frustration puts people in prison. The race of the person has little to do with it.”

What is your evidence that race has little to do with it?

Despite desegregation laws, why does racial segregation continue to exist in virtually every major city? This is true whether we talk about the projects, the ghetto, or Chinatown.

  7. That’s right mespo. when you wander north to cities like Philly, NYC, Boston, Chicago, you don’t see the depravity and squalor where black folk live. You are too chickenshit to go there. Well, I worked in the inner city of KC and Chicago. And when I visit cities like Miami, LA, all major cities, I am not an elite prima donna afraid to mix w/ poor black people. I go to the inner city, that’s where some great food and culture exist, amongst the depravity. I go w/ black friends. There is no way Jim Crow was worse than the cities where I lived and worked. You see, in those cities, Dem politicians have created a cesspool where black prey on blacks. Spend some time in the hood, then we’ll talk.

    1. Land all over the world has changed hands after wars. Nobody is perfect. The Indians of more violent tribes began killing and scalping to protect their land. They lost. Blacks were freed from slavery and didn’t know what to do. Immigrants were drawn here for freedom. The people who came for a goal worked hard to be accepted. And they worked hard.

Do blacks ever ask why the Mayor of Chicago changes nothing? They vote for this. If you want different lives quit voting for Democrats. Detroit looks like a war zone and they still vote for Democrats. New York was doing great until they voted Democrat deBlasio who had no problem with marchers calling “what do you want, dead policemen, when do you want it, now?” And he did nothing. Later that night two policemen were executed.

Stop voting for Democrats! They are not your friends and don’t give a damn about anybody but themselves. Democrats in Congress the last 40 years got rich. What did blacks get? They got bribed by money and food stamps, housing. And that is all you are going to get so, quit voting for Democrats. The people who give money and work to get a Democrats elected are getting screwed too. Democrats are good at promising, not so good on delivery. That is the truth, mso help me God.

      Quit voting for Democrats!

  8. I’ve been trying to do catchup and been reading some of the earlier posts. a lot of shots at conservatives I think unfair. About Professor Turley’s participation, I knew they would ask him. His testimony at several House meetings about his concern for the Constitution made him a must.

The pressure he’s put himself under; he’s a true patriot. How difficult to believe in someone and his objectives and see his actions as hurting the Constitution. A brave man has stood up for that Constitution; a rare man. He deserves unending gratitude.

  9. Paul:
“there is a disproportionate crime rate by those incarcerated.”
    ************
There’s also a disproportionate number of dead people buried in the cemetery. I’d say the crime rate by those incarcerated is almost 100%. Sage comment there, Paul. Lol

    1. mespo – Alexander’s thesis is that the New Jim Crow Laws are putting these people in prison. However, breaking the law is putting these people in prison and they come in all races, not just black.

  10. Wow, Paul! You fascinate me!
The following are all your own words…the fallacies in it… let’s just call it one big fallacy.
I had to break it down for easier consumption 🙂

1- there is a disproportionate crime rate by those incarcerated
2- Alexander does not cover the high number of Hispanics incarcerated
3-And Voter ID Laws are a touchstone for socialist yelling racism
4-However, you need a picture ID (which is required to vote) to gain entrance into the Department of Justice. Odd that. Is the Department of Justice racist? Are they part of the the New Jim Crow Laws

    1. po – what have I said that is a fallacy. A do remember, I did say you were out of your depth on this one. Fair warning.

  11. David, I was not implying that you were inaccurate. I was indicating that history should be taught with the emphasis on accuracy. I was out all afternoon and evening, not avoiding your question. I see DBQ jumped on what she thought I meant with her usual high level of excitement when she thinks she can score points.

  12. Happy
Thanks for the info, however I am not sure what your point is regarding the native Americans and the casinos! I don’t recall saying much about them…

  13. Kudos, Paul, for doing some work towards this rather than offering the usual stick in the spokes.
As usual however, your sources warrant research and confirming, and this one did not disappoint.
This challenge to Michelle Alexander’s book comes from the extreme left/communist, which thinks that she did go far enough in her examining of the new Jim crow phenomenon.
So, yes, I stand corrected that it was challenged, but the overall response to the book is overwhelming positive, and your source makes even more so the case that the new jim crow laws are in effect.

Regarding your challenge to offer 5 new jim crow laws…I am suspicious. Why 5? Why not 1, or 2, or 3, or 4?
Off the top of my head, I can give you these 3:
    -the drug war
    -the disproportionate incarceration rate
-the voting id laws that target mostly african americans…

    Would that do?

    1. po – thanks for the ad hominem attack. However you give three but even those are not really new Jim Crow Laws. As most people have pointed out, there is a disproportionate crime rate by those incarcerated. And Alexander does not cover the high number of Hispanics incarcerated. They have nothing to do with the New Jim Crow Laws. And Voter ID Laws are a touchstone for socialist yelling racism. However, you need a picture ID (which is required to vote) to gain entrance into the Department of Justice. Odd that. Is the Department of Justice racist? Are they part of the the New Jim Crow Laws?

    2. Po

You sound like Eric Holder. Why do you think the world is still against these people? Did you see my earlier posts on the Chippewa? They have had no problems dragging themselves out of the dregs of society (lol) I wish you would not fall for this because I think you are better than this. Really I do.

Anyone in this country can make something of himself. It was so ridiculous to make a big deal out of that Zimmerman trial. He, a Hispanic in a Jr College and Martin a Jr in High school an African American squared off in the media – now, who is gonna be the white man? Well, It will have to be Zimmerman because by doing the neighborhood watch he had been doing since 2004 and calling in 50 police calls or was it 500 I can’t remember, that made him the bully and because Martin was African American he was Jim Crow. No matter what, even if he was a murderer, he is Jim Crow.

The Logic here escapes me, I am sorry. I must say the one thing I do like though about talking with you is that you don’t drag politics in it.

  14. Speaking of Jim Crow laws, how about that charmer seated near JT on the panel who wanted to argue that voter id laws had absolutely nothing to do with voter suppression efforts. Yes, I saw her nose growing.

  15. “NOWHERE do black people have a worse life than in the northern cities run entirely by Dems for decades. ”
    **************
Growing up in the South through the sixties and early 70s I got to see the lifestyles of African-Americans subjected to segregation close up. Dirt poor with floors to match, many rural blavks had to rely on handouts and hand-me-downs just to survive. These hardworking people couldn’t get jobs, health care, or even police protection because many in the conservative power structure just didn’t care. Public Assistance, as it was called, was nil and food stamps was just an idea. Loans and other financial benefits others enjoyed were routinely denied and black schools were notoriously underfunded and in various stares of disrepair. Many African-American mothers watched the kids of white families some neglecting their own just to get by. Even public transportation was denied to them. I’ve never seen this situation in the myriad of northern cities I’ve visited but hey who am I to argue with an “expert in all things” whose only trips south were to Southern California beaches. Some people will say anything in furtherance of their ideology.

    1. Mespo727272

That was then and this is now.

Why is it that the Native Americans are fighting to keep their Nations together and taking what they do have off the Nation and building Casinos and making money and not whining like this?

Most of us have seen this you know. Go ahead and feel for the thugs – feed the thugs – they hate you too you know. They especially hate themselves

  16. Po you might as well look at this also because it’s about the poor Native Americans and how badly the United States is treating them in Michigan

    Upper Peninsula Chippewa casinos

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians still operates Kewadin Casinos, five small gambling halls in the Upper Peninsula. Each one is named for its location:
    ■Kewadin Manistique
    ■Kewadin Hessel
    ■Kewadin Sault Ste. Marie
    ■Kewadin St. Ignace
    ■Kewadin Christmas

But they are gonna have a hard time with the proposed one in Lansing unless they buy off a judge or something

Ohhhh – looks like they found one in the Supreme Court — Well good for them they deserve it The fight had been going on for 3 years

Federal appeals panel backs Lansing casino
    Michigan Momentum

A three-judge panel of the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati recently ruled that the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians can move forward with its plans to build an off-reservation casino in downtown Lansing. Overturning a lower court’s ruling that essentially froze the project, the federal appeals court stated that a federal district judge in Grand Rapids erred in granting the state an injunction because it “lacked jurisdiction” and based its ruling on “contingent future events that may never occur.”

The Sault tribe now can proceed with its application to the U.S. Department of the

Interior to have land it bought from the city of Lansing taken into trust for gaming. The $245 million Kewadin Lansing would offer a 125,000-square-foot casino and create 700 construction and 1,500 permanent jobs. A portion of gaming revenue would help fund a scholarship for Lansing high school students.
