The Saudi Arabian courts have a new judicial atrocity this week to their credit. A Saudi court has sentenced a man to death for renouncing his Islamic faith along with other reported acts of blasphemy. The man was subject to multiple crimes even carrying death under the medieval Sharia system followed in the Kingdom. Those capital crimes included renouncing Islam, ripping up a Koran, cursing Mohammad, and hitting a koran with a shoe. One death will apparently suffice in “Chop-Chop” Square (shown above) for the man engaging in what would constitute protected speech in the United States.
His crime of apostasy is enough to warrant public beheading in Saudi Arabia, which appears intent on setting a record this year for beheadings while holding public beheadings weekly. This includes a recent execution of a woman begging for her life (warning this video is highly disturbing). The Kingdom responded to the outrage . . . by arresting the photographer. Notably, the Kingdom has denounced the savagely of beheading by ISIS, which are often also done under claims of Sharia law and Sunni values.
As of 2013, Saudi Arabia is ranked third in number of recorded executions behind Iran and Iraq.
Despite Saudi Arabia executing people for renouncing Islam and blasphemy, the United States continues to embrace it as its closest ally in the region and denounces other countries as brutal and extremist.
The US has been supporting Saudi Arabia throughout decades of Republican and Democrat administrations. The British supported them before. The atrocities committed in Saudi Arabia and the other backward countries of the Middle East have been going on for hundreds of years. The only difference is the media and the internet. What was once a remote and private occurrence is not splattered all over the web. There are faults peculiar to Obama and those peculiar to the last administration of the midget cowboy and his two nursemaids. Supporting Arab oil is shared by both.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. He may be a SOB but he’s our SOB. And so it goes.
Has po given up?
Michael, I see that many people are using this as an opportunity to knock down Hillary Clinton as she gets ready to run for president. She should be exposed. However, what most are ignoring is the present govt.’s actions. Obama supports Saudi Arabia. Just as Clinton should be held responsible for her actions, so should he.
USGinc, whether Clinton, Obama or Bushes have and do support Saudi Arabia. This isn’t acceptable, no matter who is doing it. Right now, it is Obama who is in charge of foreign policy. Surely you must acknowledge that both Republicans and Democrats in Congress aren’t coming forward to stop the wars against ISIS and whoever the enemy of the day is? They are all for war fever, each party and every president. When do we see this?
American citizens are being played. Everything is fodder for propaganda. But here are the plain facts. Saudi Arabia engages in more beheadings than ISIS. If we are to fight ISIS because of their beheading people, then rationally, we should be invading Saudi Arabia for this reason. Yet they are our allies and we will not invade that nation.
The person in charge of this policy at this time is Obama, not Clinton. As in the last election, people were whipped up to ignore present reality by fear mongering about who the next candidate for president will be. It is truly sad that we will keep falling for the same techniques. The playbook should be clear by now, but no, it still works. We will not focus on present reality. This allows it to continue unopposed. This stupidity serves the govt. so well.

Do your own research. They’re there, just flip over a rock or two.
On the one hand, having your head chopped off can’t be much different than the circus of waiting for a decade or two to get electrocuted, pumped full of poison, or gassed. You know the ritual, last meal, etc.
People expressing their freedom of religion in the United States are not executed. Nor is apostasy a crime here. Your statement makes a false comparison.
Amy Chozick of the New York Times reports that….the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation “has accepted tens of millions of dollars in donations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Algeria and Brunei — all of which the State Department has faulted over their records on sex discrimination and other human-rights issues.”
Which Republicans sleep with Arabs, and stroke them when they come to the US, as said above. Please name them.
Lets just be thankful they are not going to pour water on his face.
Olly,
Might be some Saudi email correspondence on Clinton’s private email sever explaining money transactions, including political campaign contributions. Yes, no, maybe?
This is one way for people to see that USGinc. is cynically using the horror of beheadings to whip us into a war frenzy. The crimes of ISIS are the crimes of Saudi Arabia. So why aren’t we told we must go to war to destroy Saudi Arabia?
We need to quit falling so easily for govt. war propaganda. The truth is USGinc. doesn’t care about the beheading of anyone unless it’s useful to start a war to make money for contractors and bankers.
This is a completely corrupt govt. and we should stop supporting our “leaders”. We need peaceful, mass protest against the abuses against our own people and the people of other nations, all carried out by this “exceptional” Christian nation.
And in other news: Scientist’s discover water is wet.
I believe our government, and this administration particularly, has impaled itself on the fence between being for or against sharia law. The fact the Clinton’s foundation has taken money from these Sharia practicing countries should be enough to deter voters away from her run for the White House………….but it won’t. So much for principles.
“Despite Saudi Arabia executing people for renouncing Islam and blasphemy, the United States continues to embrace it as its closest ally in the region and denounces other countries as brutal and extremist.” Jonathan Turley
Maybe it’s time to look closely. Most Americans — including Jonathan Turley, apparently — aren’t aware of what the U.S. is doing to its own citizens.
Release the 28 redacted 9/11 pages. We need to know more details of Saudi’s wonderfulness….
By the way, I have a friend in San Antonio who taught English as a second language to Saudi military officers. He says they are filled with hatred towards Americans and America, making his job so stressful that he quit.

The Republicans and the Democrats all take Arab money, sleep with Arabs, and stroke them when they come to the US. That is the price paid when one steps outside of one’s self. Americans might tolerate or even champion a politician that called a spade a spade and stood its ground against this stuff, but you know, glass houses, oligarchs, etc.

On the other hand Saudi Arabia is a member of the ‘Paranoid Club’, those countries/places where the fear of losing power is so great the slightest criticism is smacked down with whippings or head choppings. It is amazing how, in the name of god, religion, mumbo jumbo, such fear can fester and metastasize. The Saudis and the other members of their club are the biggest talkers, biggest cowards, and most afraid of any people on earth. It is amazing when all that money can’t buy a spine. If this is the response to criticism to their god then their god don’t mean s*#t.
Isaac
WOW I take everything back I said Isaac, All of it okay? I concur 😉

As I was saying earlier in the thread, the USG divides the world into enablers (Saudi Arabia, et al) and opponents of its geo-political agenda:
“The declaration of Venezuela as a threat to US national security is the first step towards imposing wider sanctions against the South American country, which sits on the world’s largest oil reserves and is a major supplier to the United States.
“ ‘We are deeply concerned by the Venezuelan government’s efforts to escalate intimidation of its political opponents,’ said the White House spokesman Josh Earnest. ‘Venezuela’s problems cannot be solved by criminalizing dissent.’ ”

It is their country, so their rules. If we do not like it, we can stop dealing with them.
I guess when you come right down to it, there is little differences between the so-called extreme ones and our so-called friends of the region. Their roots are fed by the same stream.
So there’s a job opening for Jihadi John in Saudi Arabia? Jihadi John’s resume has all the skill sets and he always shows up on time for work, never calls in sick.
What a shame
The Saudi royal family are major donors to the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library, and also to the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation.
The Clinton Foundation prides itself in its work in support of human rights around the world through the Clinton Glibal Initiative.
How can Saudi Arabia be seen by the US as an ally against ISIS when the Kingdom engages in the very same acts? This is the country to which our President took a large delegation of our highest officials to public ally honor and morn it deceased king. It is time to end our relationship with Saudi Arabis and recognize that they are the same as ISIS in many ways and that their brand of Islam is hazardous to the world and the humans who live in it.
I knew that wouldn’t work if I did it for the italics. lol

Okay, I am convinced, I don’t care where this is, it’s all highly disturbing and I can’t see any reason for it in the wide world.
